Identification of a novel coronavirus causing severe pneumonia in human:a descriptive study显示文摘Background:Human infections with zoonotic coronaviruses(CoVs),including severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)-CoV and Middle East respiratory syndrome(MERS)-CoV,have raised great public health concern globally. Here,we report a novel batorigin CoV causing severe and fatal pneumonia in humans. Methods:We collected clinical data and bronchoalveolar lavage(BAL)specimens from five patients with severe pneumonia from Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital,Hubei province,China.Nucleic acids of the BAL were extracted and subjected to next-generation sequencing.Virus isolation was carried out,and maximum-likelihood phylogenetic trees were constructed. Results:Five patients hospitalized from December 18 to December 29,2019 presented with fever, cough, and dyspnea accompanied by complications of acute respiratory distress syndrome.Chest radiography revealed diffuse opacities and consolidation. One of these patients died.Sequence results revealed the presence of a previously unknownβ-CoV strain in all five patients, with 99.8%to 99.9%nucleotide identities among the isolates. These isolates showed 79.0%nucleotide identity with the sequence of SARS-CoV(GenBank NC_004718)and 51.8%identity with the sequence of MERS-CoV(GenBank NC_019843).The virus is phylogenetically closest to a bat SARS-like CoV(SL-ZC45,GenBank MG772933)with 87.6%to 87.7%nucleotide identity, but is in a separate clade. Moreover, these viruses have a single intact open reading frame gene 8,as a further indicator of bat-origin CoVs.However, the amino acid sequence of the tentative receptor-binding domain resembles that of SARS-CoV,indicating that these viruses might use the same receptor. Conclusion:A novel bat-borne CoV was identified that is associated with severe and fatal respiratory disease in humans. | Li-Li Ren Ye-Ming Wang Zhi-Qiang Wu Zi-Chun Xiang Li Guo Teng Xu Yong-Zhong Jiang Yan Xiong Yong-Jun Li Xing-Wang Li Hui Li Guo-Hui Fan Xiao-Ying Gu Yan Xiao Hong Gao Jiu-Yang Xu Fan Yang Xin-Ming Wang Chao Wu Lan Chen Yi-Wei Liu Bo Liu Jian Yang Xiao-Rui Wang Jie Dong Li Li Chao-Lin Huang Jian-Ping Zhao Yi Hu Zhen-Shun Cheng Un-Lin Liu Zhao-Hui Qian Chuan Qin Qi Jin Bin Cao Jian-Wei Wang | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,9: | 99
Effects of stem structure andcell wall components on bending strength in wheat显示文摘Morphological traits, anatomical features, chemical components and bending stress in the stems of three genotypes of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), namely Xiaoyan54, 8602 and Xiaoyan81, were ex- amined by means of light microscopy coupled with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). No- ticeable changes in morphological and anatomical traits were observed, including outer radius of stem, the ratio of stem outer radius to stem wall thickness, various tissue proportions and variations among dif- ferent types of vascular bundles. The results of chemical analysis revealed that Xiaoyan81 had the highest cellulose content in comparison with Xiao- yan54 and 8602, whereas lignin level in Xiaoyan81 was lower than that in 8602 but higher that that in Xiaoyan54. Bending stress analysis demonstrated that Xiaoyan81 may be the main target for identifica- tion, for it had the highest bending stress among the stems of three genotypes. Associated with bending stress, all the results presented here suggested that the ratio of stem wall thickness to its outer radius, schlerenchyma tissue proportion, the average num- ber of big VB per unit and the cellulose content are four important factors affecting the mechanical strength of Xiaoyan81 wheat stems, which can be considered as the key parameters for selecting varie- ties with bending stress. Therefore, it was suggested that in the selection of lodging resistant cultivars one should consider those characterized with large ratio of outer radius of stem to stem wall thickness, great-erschlerenchyma tissue proportion, high average number of big VB per unit with high cellulose content in their stems. | WANG Jian ZHU Jinmao LIN Qinqin LI Xiaojuan TENG Nianjun LI Zhensheng LI Bin ZHANG Aimin LIN Jinxing | 2006 | Chinese Science Bulletin2006,51,7: | 30
The New Form of Time-Dependent Mild Slope Equation for Random Waves显示文摘The mild-slope equation derived by Berkhoff (1972), has widely been used in the numerical calculation of refraction and diffraction of regular waves. However, it is well known that the random sea waves has a significant effect in the refraction and diffraction problems. In this paper, a new form of time-dependent mild slope equation for irregular waves was derived with Fade approximation and Kubo’s time series concept. The equation was simplified using WKB method, and simple and practical irregular mild slope equation was obtained. Results of numerical calculations are compared with those of laboratory experiments. | Zhang Yonggang , Li Yucheng Teng Bin Doctor Degree Candidate, The National Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian 116023Professor, The National,Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian 116023Associate Professor, The National Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian 116023 | 1995 | China Ocean Engineering1995,10,4: | 21
Effects of aminoguanidine on nitric oxide production induced by inflammatory cytokines and endotoxin in cultured rat hepatocytes显示文摘AIM To study the effects of aminoguanidine(AG) and two L-arginine analogues Nω-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) and Nω-nitro-L-arginine (L-NNA) on nitric oxide (NO) productioninduced by cytokines (TNF-α, IL-11β, and IFN-γ)and bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) mixture(CM) in the cultured rat hepatocytes, andexamine their mechanisms action.METHODS Rat hepatocytes were incubatedwith AG, L-NAME, L-NNA, Actinomycin D (ActD)and dexamethasene in a medium containing CM(LPS plus TNF-α, IL-1β, and IFN-γ) for 24 h. NOproduction in the cultured supernatant wasmeasured with the Griese reaction. IntracellularcGMP level was detected with radioimmunoasey.RESULTS NO production was markedlyblocked by AG and L-NAME in a dose-dependentmanner under inflammatory stimuli conditiontriggered by CM in vitro. The rate of themaximum inhibitory effects of L-NAME (38.9%)was less potent than that obtained with AG(53.7%, P<0.05). There was no significantdifference between the inhibitory effects of AGand two L-arginine analogues on intracellularcGMP accumulation in rat cultured hepatocytes.Non-specific NOS expression inhibitordexamethasone ( DEX ) and iNOS mRNAtranscriptional inhibitor ActD also significantlyinhibited CM-induced NO production. AG(0.1mmol.L-1) and ActD (0.2ng@Lt) wereequipotent in decreasing NO production inducedby inflammatory stimuli in vitro, and botheffects were more potent than that induced bynon-selectivity NOS activity inhibitor L-NAME(0. 1 mmol@ L- 1) under similar stimuli conditions(P | Guo Liang Zhang Ye Hong Wang Hui Ling Teng Zhi Bin Lin Department of Pharmacology,School of Basic Medical Sciences,Beijing University,Beijiog 100083,ChinaDr.Guo Liang Zhang graduated from Xinxiang Medical College in 1982,got Ph.D.at Nagoya City University Medical School,Japan in 1994,finished postdoctoral research at Beijing Medical Univcrsity in 1996,now an associate professor of pharmacology, specialized in hepatic pharmacology, having 15 papers published. | 2001 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2001,7,3: | 20
Numerical simulation of the influences of sinker weight on the deformation and load of net of gravity sea cage in uniform flow显示文摘A numerical model for determining fishing net configuration and load is developed, based on the lumped masses method. The model is used to analyze the influences on the net of gravity sea cage by different sinker weights in uniform flow. The net of gravity sea cage is simulated under different current velocities and sinker weights. In order to verify the validity of the numerical results, model test results made by Lader and Enerhaug are cited and compared with the numerical ones. The results of numerical simulation agree well with the experimental ones and the agreement is within an error range of 13% under different velocities and sinker weights. The numerical results indicate that increasing the sinker weight can effectively reduce the net deformation, but the total drag force on the net will increase accordingly. Results will give references for better knowledge of the hydrodynamic behavior of gravity sea cage. | LI Yucheng ZHAO Yunpeng GUI Fukun TENG Bin DONG Guohai | 2006 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2006,25,3: | 16
WAVE-CURRENT INTERACTIONS WITH THREE-DIMENSIONAL FLOATING BODIES显示文摘A Time-domain Higher-Order Boundary Element Method(THOBEM) is developed for simulating wave-current interactions with 3-D floating bodies.Through a Taylor series expansion and a perturbation procedure, the model is formulated to the first-order in the wave steepness and in the current velocity, respectively. The boundary value problem is decomposed into a steady double-body flow problem and an unsteady wave problem.Higher-order boundary integral equation methods are then used to solve the proposed problems with a fourth-order Runge-Kutta method for the time marching. An artificial damping layer is adopted to dissipate the scattering waves.Different from the other time-domain numerical models, which are often focused on the wave-current interaction with restrained bodies, the present model deals with a floating hemisphere. The numerical results of wave forces, wave run-up and body response are all in a close agreement with those obtained by frequency-domain methods. The proposed numerical model is further applied to investigate wave-current interactions with a floating body of complicated geometry. In this work, the regular and focused wave combined with current interacting with a truss-spar platform is investigated. | LIU Zhen TENG Bin NING De-zhi GOU Ying | 2010 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2010,22,2: | 14
Parallel Reinforcement Learning-Based Energy Efficiency Improvement for a Cyber-Physical System显示文摘As a complex and critical cyber-physical system(CPS),the hybrid electric powertrain is significant to mitigate air pollution and improve fuel economy.Energy management strategy(EMS)is playing a key role to improve the energy efficiency of this CPS.This paper presents a novel bidirectional long shortterm memory(LSTM)network based parallel reinforcement learning(PRL)approach to construct EMS for a hybrid tracked vehicle(HTV).This method contains two levels. The high-level establishes a parallel system first, which includes a real powertrain system and an artificial system. Then, the synthesized data from this parallel system is trained by a bidirectional LSTM network. The lower-level determines the optimal EMS using the trained action state function in the model-free reinforcement learning(RL)framework.PRL is a fully data-driven and learning-enabled approach that does not depend on any prediction and predefined rules. Finally, real vehicle testing is implemented and relevant experiment data is collected and calibrated.Experimental results validate that the proposed EMS can achieve considerable energy efficiency improvement by comparing with the conventional RL approach and deep RL. | Teng Liu Bin Tian Yunfeng Ai Fei-Yue Wang | 2020 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2020,7,2: | 14

Waxy allelic diversity in common millet(Panicum miliaceum L.) in China显示文摘A set of 132 accessions of common millet,Panicum miliaceum L.,from 12 provinces of China were assessed for endosperm starch type(waxy or non-waxy)using I_2-KI staining, amylose and amylopectin contents using the dual-wavelength colorimetric method, and genotype of Waxy genes conditioning amylose content by gene sequencing.Endosperm starch content varied from57.69%to 74.70%,while the amylose and amylopectin contents of the starch ranged from 0 to23.29%and from 41.99%to 70.24%,respectively.Sequencing two Wx genes, including Wx-L(intron 5-exon 7 and intron 8–9)and Wx-S(exon 9–intron 10)revealed several polymorphisms(S_0,S_(-15),L_C,L_F,L_Y).Marker M5-R11 linking to the Wx-S gene may be used to discriminate waxy common millet accessions from non-waxy ones.Among the 132 accessions,68 with the S_(-15)allele had waxy endosperm starch with the amylose content range 0–2.58%and 64 accessions with the S_0allele had non-waxy endosperm starch with amylose content range 3.94%–23.29%.Five genotypes including S_(-15)/L_F(45%of the accessions),S_0/L_F(25%),S_0/L_Y(12%),S_0/L_C(11%),and S_(-15)/L_Y(7%)were identified.Six new SNPs were detected at the Wx-L locus. These results will facilitate common millet breeding, especially of cultivars free of amylose. | Ruiyun Wang Haigang Wang Xiaohuan Liu Xu Ji Ling Chen Ping Lu Minxuan Liu Bin Teng Zhijun Qiao | 2018 | The Crop Journal2018,6,4: | 10
NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF TURBULENT FREE SURFACE FLOW OVER OBSTRUCTION显示文摘A two-dimensional hybrid numerical model, FEM-LES-VOF, for free surface flows is proposed in this study, which is a combination of three-step Taylor-Galerkin finite element method, large eddy simulation with the Smagorinsky sub-grid model and Computational Lagrangian-Eulerian Advection Remap Volume of Fluid (CLEAR-VOF) method. The present FEM-LES-VOF model allows the fluid flows involving violent free surface and turbulence subject to complex boundary configuration to be simulated in a straightforward manner with unstructured grids in the context of finite element method. Numerical simulation of a benchmark problem of dam breaking is conducted to verify the present model. Comparisons with experimental data show that the proposed model works well and is capable of producing reliable predictions for free surface flows. Using the FEM-LES-VOF model, the free surface flow over a semi-circular obstruction is investigated. The simulation results are compared with available experimental and numerical results. Good performance of the FEM-LES-VOF model is demonstrated again. Moreover, the numerical studies show that the turbulence plays an important role in the evolution of free surface when the reflected wave propagates upstream during the fluid flow passing the submerged obstacle. | LU Lin LI Yu-cheng TENG Bin CHEN Bing | 2008 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2008,20,4: | 10
Full time-domain nonlinear coupled dynamic analysis of a truss spar and its mooring/riser system in irregular wave显示文摘A new full time-domain nonlinear coupled method has been established and then applied to predict the responses of a Truss Spar in irregular wave. For the coupled analysis,a second-order time-domain approach is developed to calculate the wave forces, and a finite element model based on rod theory is established in three dimensions in a global coordinate system. In numerical implementation, the higher-order boundary element method(HOBEM)is employed to solve the velocity potential, and the 4th-order Adams-Bashforth-Moultn scheme is used to update the second-order wave surface. In deriving convergent solutions, the hull displacements and mooring tensions are kept consistent at the fairlead and the motion equations of platform and mooring-lines/risers are solved simultaneously using Newmark-integration scheme including Newton-Raphson iteration. Both the coupled quasi-static analysis and the coupled dynamic analysis are performed. The numerical simulation results are also compared with the model test results, and they coincide very well as a whole. The slow-drift responses can be clearly observed in the time histories of displacements and mooring tensions. Some important characteristics of the coupled responses are concluded. | YANG MinDong TENG Bin XIAO LongFei NING DeZhi SHI ZhongMin QU Yan | 2014 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,1: | 8

Insight-HXMT:China's First X-Ray Astronomical Satellite显示文摘The Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(HXMT) satellite is the first X-ray astronomical satellite in China. Utilizing the 'direct demodulation image reconstruction method', HXMT will perform broad band(1-250 keV) survey of large sky areas in scanning mode, which can result in source detection characterized with high sensitivity and spatial resolution. Point observation is another key working mode of HXMT, and is specified for observations of galactic bright sources like X-Ray Binary(XRB) and others. Additionally, HXMT also has a powerful capability developed for monitoring gamma-ray bursts, which is quite unique in the world due to its energy coverage of 200 keV-3 MeV and largest detection area. The HXMT satellite was launched by a Long March 4 B(LM-4 B) rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on June 15, 2017. The payloads onboard HXMT are a High Energy X-ray Telescope(HE), a Medium Energy X-ray Telescope(ME), a Low Energy X-ray Telescope(LE), and a Space Environment Monitor(SEM).This paper introduces the main technical aspects of the satellite, including scientific objectives, technical features, mission design, and system design. | PAN Teng NI Runli ZHANG Long HONG Bin GU Quanying LU Fangjun XU Yupeng | 2017 | Aerospace China2017,18,4: | 8
NUMERICAL SIMULATON OF IMPROVED BOUSSINESQ EQUATIONS BY A FINITE ELEMENT METHOD显示文摘The improved Boussinesq equations for varying depth derived by Beji and Nadaoka significantly improved the linear dispersive properties of wave models in intermediate water depths. In this study, a finite element method was developed to solve the improved Boussinesq equations. A spongy layer was applied at the open boundary of the computational domain to absorb the wave energy. The fourth-order predictor-corrector method was employed in the time integration. Several test cases were illustrated. The numerical results of this model were compared with laboratory data and those from other numerical models. | 17 | Experiment and numerical simulation of melt convection and oxygen distribution in 400-mm Czochralski silicon crystal growth显示文摘Single-crystalline silicon materials with large dimensions have been widely used as assemblies in plasma silicon etching machines. However, information about large-diameter low-cost preparation technology has not been sufficiently reported. In this paper,it was focused on the preparation of 400-mm silicon(100) crystal lightly doped with boron from 28-in.hot zones.Resistivity uniformity and oxygen concentration of the silicon crystal were investigated by direct-current(DC) four-point probes method and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),respectively. The global heat transfer, melt flow and oxygen distribution were calculated by finite element method(FEM).The results show that 28-in.hot zones can replace conventional 32 in.ones to grow 400-mm-diameter silicon single crystals. The change in crucible diameter can save energy, reduce cost and improve efficiency. The trend of oxygen distribution obtained in calculations is in good agreement with experimental values. The present model can well predict the 400-mm-diameter silicon crystal growth and is essential for the optimization of furnace design and process condition. | Ran Teng Yang Li Bin Cui Qing Chang Qing-Hua Xiao Guo-Hu Zhang | 2017 | Rare Metals2017,36,2: | 6
Viscous Effects on Wave Forces on A Submerged Horizontal Circular Cylinder显示文摘Numerical simulations are carried out for wave action on a submerged horizontal circular cylinder by means of a viscous fluid model, and it is focused on the examination of the discrepancies between the viscous fluid results and the potential flow solutions. It is found that the lift force resulted from rotational flow on the circular cylinder is always in anti-phase with the inertia force and induces the discrepancies between the results. The influence factors on the magnitude of the lift force, especially the correlation between the stagnation-point position and the wave amplitude, and the effect of the vortex shedding are investigated by further examination on the flow fields around the cylinder. The viscous numerical calculations at different wave frequencies showed that the wave frequency has also significant influence on the wave forces. Under higher frequency and larger amplitude wave action, vortex shedding from the circular cylinder will appear and influence the wave forces on the cylinder substantially. | TENG Bin MAO Hong-fei LU Lin | 2018 | China Ocean Engineering2018,32,3: | 6
Second-Order Wave Diffraction Around 3-D Bodies by A Time-Domain Method显示文摘A time-domain method is applied to simulate nonlinear wave diffraction around a surface piercing 3-D arbitrary body. The method involves the application of Taylor series expansions and the use of perturbation procedure to establish the corresponding boundary value problems with respect to a time-independent fluid domain. A boundary element method based on B-spline expansion is used to calculate the wave field at each time step, and the free surface boundary condition is satisfied to the second order of wave steepness by a numerical integration in time. An artificial damping layer is adopted on the free surface for the removal of wave reflection from the outer boundary. As an illustration, the method is used to compute the second-order wave forces and run-up on a surface-piercing circular cylinder. The present method is found to be accurate, computationally efficient, and numerically stable. | BAI Wei(柏威) TENG Bin(滕斌) | 2001 | China Ocean Engineering2001,16,1: | 6
