1Feeding of Riptortus pedestris on soybean plants, the primary cause of soybean staygreen syndrome in the Huang-Huai-Hai river basin显示文摘Staygreen syndrome or Zhengqing in soybean has recently become a major issue for Chinese growers in the Huang-Huai-Hai river basin.Although previous studies revealed that staygreen can be induced when pods/seeds are damaged, it is unknown whether virus infection or insect infestation causes staygreen.To determine whether viral infection causes staygreen, a survey of soybean staygreen incidence in the Huang-Huai-Hai river basin was conducted in 2016 and 2017.Diseased samples were collected and analyzed using DAS-ELISA for Soybean mosaic virus, Watermelon mosaic virus, Bean pod mottle virus, Cucumber mosaic virus, and Bean common mosaic virus.The survey showed that the severity of soybean staygreen syndrome was most prevalent in Beijing, Henan, Shaanxi, and some parts of Shandong provinces, with yield losses from 0 to nearly 100%, but only a small fraction of samples were positive for the tested viruses.A field cage experiment and an insecticide treatment field trial were conducted to determine the contribution of the bean bug, Riptortus pedestris, to staygreen incidence.The field cage experiment showed that R.pedestris treatment resulted in shorter plants, more empty pods, increased numbers of abnormal seeds, and decreased yields.The field experiment showed that there were fewer R.pedestris and less soybean staygreen incidence in fields treated with insecticide than in untreated control fields.Together, these results suggest that R.pedestris infestation rather than virus infection induces staygreen syndrome and that growers in this region can mitigate staygreen syndrome via bean bug control.Kai Li Xinxin Zhang Jianqiu Guo Hannah Penn Tingting Wu Lin Li Hong Jiang Lidan Chang Cunxiang Wu Tianfu Han 2019The Crop Journal2019,7,3:30
2Laser cleaning of steel structure surface for paint removal and repaint adhesion显示文摘Paint removal from steel structure is executed for shipyards of marine and offshore engineering.Due to environmental unfriendliness and unhealthy drawbacks of sand blasting technique, laser ablation technique is proposed as a substituting method.By absorbing high energy of the 1064 nm pulsed laser, the paint is vaporized quickly.The ablated debris is then collected by using a suction pump.Initial metal surface of the steel is exposed when laser beam irradiates perpendicularly and scans over it.The cleaned surface fulfills the requirements of surface preparation standards ISO 8501 of SA2.The adhesion is further characterized with pull-off test after carrying out painting with Jotamastic 87 aluminum paint.The repainting can be embedded onto the laser cleaned surface to bond much more tightly.The excellent adhesion strength of 20 MPa between repainted coating and the substrate is achieved, which is higher than what is required by shipyards applications.Xiaoguang Li Tingting Huang Ang Wei Chong Rui Zhou Yoo Sang Choo Minghui Hong 2017光电工程2017,44,3:24
3In-situ fabrication of PtSe2/GaN heterojunction for self-powered deep ultraviolet photodetector with ultrahigh current on/off ratio and detectivity显示文摘The research of ultraviolet photodetectors(UV PDs)have been attracting extensive attention,due to their important applications in many areas.In this study,PtSe2/GaN heterojunction is in-situ fabricated by synthesis of large-area vertically standing two-dimensional(2D)PtSe2 film on n-GaN substrate.The PtSe2/GaN heterojunction device demonstrates excellent photoresponse properties under illumination by deep UV light of 265 nm at zero bias voltage.Further analysis reveals that a high responsivity of 193 mA·W^-1,an ultrahigh specific detectivity of 3.8 × 10^14 Jones,linear dynamic range of 155d B and current on/off ratio of^10^8,as well as fast response speeds of 45/102μs were obtained at zero bias voltage.Moreover,this device response quickly to the pulse laser of 266 nm with a rise time of 172 ns.Such high-performanee PtSe2/GaN heteroj u nction UV PD demonstrated in this work is far superior to previously reported results,suggesting that it has great potential for deep UV detection.Ranran Zhuo Longhui Zeng Huiyu Yuan Di Wu Yuange Wang Zhifeng Shi Tingting Xu Yongtao Tian Xinjian Li Yuen Hong Tsang 2019Nano Research2019,12,1:11

5Cardiac BIN1(cBIN1) is a regulator of cardiac contractile function and an emerging biomarker of heart muscle health显示文摘In recent decades,a cardiomyocyte membrane scaffolding protein bridging integrator 1(BIN1) has emerged as a critical multifunctional regulator of transverse-tubule(t-tubule) function and calcium signaling in cardiomyocytes.Encoded by a single gene with 20 exons that are alternatively spliced,more than ten BIN1 protein isoforms are expressed with tissue and disease specificity.The recently discovered cardiac alternatively spliced isoform BIN1(cBIN1 or BIN1 +13 + 17)plays a crucial role in organizing membrane microfolds within cardiac t-tubules.These cBIN1-induced microfolds form functional dyad microdomains by trafficking L-type calcium channels(LTCC) to t-tubule membrane and recruiting ryanodine receptors(RyR) to junctional sarcoplasmic reticulum membrane.When cBIN1 is transcriptionally reduced as occurs in heart failure,cBIN1-microfolds are disrupted and fail to form LTCC and RyR couplons.As a result,impaired dyad formation limits excitation-contraction coupling thus cardiac contractility,and accumulation of orphaned leaky RyRs outside of dyads increases ventricular arrhythmias.Reduced myocardial BIN1 in heart failure is also detectable at the blood level,and plasma BIN1 level predicts heart failure progression and future arrhythmias in cardiomyopathy patients.Here we will review the recent progress in BIN1-related cardiomyocyte biology studies and discuss the diagnostic and predictive values of cBIN1 in future clinical use.Kang Zhou Tingting Hong 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,3:8
6The geochemical characteristics,geochronology and tectonic significance of the Carboniferous volcanic rocks of the Santanghu area in northeastern Xinjiang,China显示文摘The Santanghu area is located on the northeastern margin of the Junggar Basin,northern Xinjiang,Northwest China.The Carboniferous volcanic rocks in this area are widely distributed in Kaokesaiergaishan,Santanghu,Daheishan and Naomaohu districts,which are located to the north of the Kalameili Fault.These rocks,sourced from a cognate magma,consist of basic,intermediate,and acidic lavas,and pyroclastic rock.The basic volcanic rocks are enriched with large-ion lithophile elements(LILE),but are relatively depleted in high field strength elements(HFSE),and have an obvious negative Nb-Ta-Ti anomaly.They were most probably derived from a depleted mantle source,and during their ascent,these magmas were not contaminated by the crustal material as they underwent magma crystallization differentiation.Based on the Carboniferous volcanic assemblage and geochemical data,it is apparent that the early Carboniferous volcanism occurred in a subduction-related tectonic setting.New LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb analyses constrain the age of the andesite within the volcanic rocks as the early Carboniferous(328.9-331.3 Ma).Combined with the regional geological record,comprehensive analysis of the isotope geochronological data indicates that the subduction of the Junggar Ocean predates the early Carboniferous,and that the Santanghu island arc magmatism was induced by the subduction of the Junggar Ocean in the Carboniferous.LI Wei LIU YiQun DONG YunPeng ZHOU XiaoHu LIU XiaoMing LI Hong FAN TingTing ZHOU DingWu XU XueYi CHEN JunLu 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,8:8
7Helicobacter pylori may participate in the development of inflammatory bowel disease by modulating the intestinal microbiota显示文摘Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)is a non-specific inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal(GI)tract that is generally accepted to be closely related to intestinal dysbiosis in the host.GI infections contribute a key role in the pathogenesis of IBD;however,although the results of recent clinical studies have revealed an inverse correlation between Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection and IBD,the exact mechanism underlying the development of IBD remains unclear.H.pylori,as a star microorganism,has been a focus for decades,and recent preclinical and real-world studies have demonstrated that H.pylori not only affects the changes in the gastric microbiota and microenvironment but also influences the intestinal microbiota,indicating a potential correlation with IBD.Detailed analysis revealed that H.pylori infection increased the diversity of the intestinal microbiota,reduced the abundance of Bacteroidetes,augmented the abundance of Firmicutes,and produced short-chain fatty acid-producing bacteria such as Akkermansia.All these factors may decrease vulnerability to IBD.Further studies investigating the H.pylori-intestinal microbiota metabolite axis should be performed to understand the mechanism underlying the development of IBD.Xiaoyin Bai Lingjuan Jiang Gechong Ruan Tingting Liu Hong Yang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,6:5

9Cerebral Dopamine Neurotrophic Factor:A Potential Therapeutic Agent for Parkinson's Disease显示文摘The application of neurotrophic factors(NTFs)is a promising therapeutic strategy for neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's disease(PD). Many NTFs have been reported to enhance the survival, regeneration,and differentiation of neurons and to induce synaptic plasticity. However, because of their potential side-effects and low efficacy after clinical administration, more potent treatments for neurodegenerative disorders are being sought. Cerebral dopamine neurotrophic factor(CDNF), a newly-identified NTF homologous to mesencephalic astrocyte-derived NTF, is structurally and functionally different from other NTFs, providing new hope especially for PD patients. In various animal models of PD, CDNF is efficient in protecting and repairing dopaminergic neurons,and it inhibits endoplasmic reticulum stress, neuroinflammation, and apoptosis. 10Ultra-high-Q resonances in terahertz all-silicon metasurfaces based on bound states in the continuum显示文摘High-Q metasurfaces have important applications in high-sensitivity sensing,low-threshold lasers,and nonlinear optics due to the strong local electromagnetic field enhancements.Although ultra-high-Q resonances of bound states in the continuum(BIC)metasurfaces have been rapidly developed in the optical regime,it is still a challenging task in the terahertz band for long years because of absorption loss of dielectric materials,design,and fabrication of nanostructures,and the need for high-signal-to-noise ratio and high-resolution spectral measurements.Here,a polarization-insensitive quasi-BIC resonance with a high-Q factor of 1049 in a terahertz all-silicon metasurface is experimentally achieved,exceeding the current highest record by 3 times of magnitude.And by using this ultra-high-Q metasurface,a terahertz intensity modulation with very low optical pump power is demonstrated.The proposed all-silicon metasurface can pave the way for the research and development of high-Q terahertz metasurfaces.PENGFEI WANG FENGYAN HE JIANJUN LIU FANGZHOU SHU BIN FANG TINGTING LANG XUFENG JING ZHI HONG 2022Photonics Research2022,10,12:4

13Online single particle measurement of fireworks pollution during Chinese New Year in Nanning显示文摘Time-resolved single-particle measurements were conducted during Chinese New Year in Nanning, China. Firework displays resulted in a burst of SO_2, coarse mode, and accumulation mode(100–500 nm) particles. Through single particle mass spectrometry analysis, five different types of particles(fireworks-metal, ash, dust, organic carbon-sulfate(OC-sulfate), biomass burning) with different size distributions were identified as primary emissions from firework displays. The fireworks-related particles accounted for more than70% of the total analyzed particles during severe firework detonations. The formation of secondary particulate sulfate and nitrate during firework events was investigated on single particle level. An increase of sulfite peak(80SO_3^-) followed by an increase of sulfate peaks(97HSO_4^-+ 96SO_4^-) in the mass spectra during firework displays indicated the aqueous uptake and oxidation of SO_2 on particles. High concentration of gaseous SO_2, high relative humidity and high particle loading likely promoted SO_2 oxidation. Secondary nitrate formed through gas-phase oxidation of NO_2 to nitric acid, followed by the condensation into particles as ammonium nitrate. 14Efficient Multi-rate Encoder of QC-LDPC Codes Based on FPGA for WIMAX Standard显示文摘An efficient multi-rate encoder for IEEE802.16e LDPC codes which outperforms current single rate encoders with acceptable hardware consumption and efficient memory consumption is proposed.This design utilizes the common dual-diagonal structure in parity matrices to avoid the inverse matrix operation which requires extensive computations.Parallel Matrix-vector multiplication(MVM) units,bidirectional operation and storage compression are applied to this multi-rate encoder to increase the encoding speed and significantly reduce the quantity of memory bits required.The proposed encoding architecture also contributes to the design of multi-rate encoders whose parity matrices are dual-diagonally structured and have an Approximately lower triangular(ALT)form,such as in IEEE 802.11n and IEEE 802.22.Simulation results verified that the proposed encoder can efficiently work for all code rates specified in WIMAX standard.With a maximum clock frequency of 117 MHz,the encoder achieves 3 to 10 times higher throughput than prior works.The proposed encoder is capable to switch among six rates by adjusting the input parameter and it achieves the throughput up to 1Gbps.WANG Xiumin GE Tingting LI Jun SU Chen HONG Fangfei 2017Chinese Journal of Electronics2017,26,2:2
15Applications of Metal–Organic Frameworks and Their Derivatives in Electrochemical CO_(2)Reduction显示文摘Electrochemically reducing CO_(2)to more reduced chemical species is a promising way that not only enables the conversion of intermittent energy resources to stable fuels,but also helps to build a closed-loop anthropogenic carbon cycle.Among various electrocatalysts for electrochemical CO_(2)reduction,multifunctional metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)have been employed as highly efficient and selective heterogeneous electrocatalysts due to their ultrahigh porosity and topologically diverse structures.Up to now,great progress has been achieved in the design and synthesis of highly active and selective MOF-related catalysts for electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR),and their corresponding reaction mechanisms have been thoroughly studied.In this review,we summarize the recent progress of applying MOFs and their derivatives in CO_(2)RR,with a focus on the design strategies for electrocatalysts and electrolyzers.We first discussed the reaction mechanisms for different CO_(2)RR products and introduced the commonly applied electrolyzer configurations in the current CO_(2)RR system.Then,an overview of several categories of products(CO,HCOOH,CH_(4),CH_(3)OH,and multi-carbon chemicals)generated from MOFs or their derivatives via CO_(2)RR was discussed.Finally,we offer some insights and perspectives for the future development of MOFs and their derivatives in electrochemical CO_(2)reduction.We aim to provide new insights into this field and further guide future research for large-scale applications.Chengbo Li Yuan Ji Youpeng Wang Chunxiao Liu Zhaoyang Chen Jialin Tang Yawei Hong Xu Li Tingting Zheng Qiu Jiang Chuan Xia 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,8:2
16Investigation of suitable precursors for manganese oxide catalysts in ethyl acetate oxidation显示文摘The control of ethyl acetate emissions from fermentation and extraction processes in the pharmaceutical industry is of great importance to the environment.We have developed three Mn_(2)O_(3)catalysts by using different Mn precursors(MnCl_(2),Mn(CH_(3)COO)_(2),MnSO_(4)),named as Mn_(2)O_(3)-Cl,-Ac,-SO_(4).The tested catalytic activity results showed a sequence with Mn precursors as:Mn_(2)O_(3)-Cl>Mn_(2)O_(3)-Ac>Mn_(2)O_(3)-SO_(4).The Mn_(2)O_(3)-Cl catalyst reached a complete ethyl acetate conversion at 212℃(75℃lower than that of Mn_(2)O_(3)-SO_(4)),and this high activity 100%could be maintained high at 212℃for at least 100 hr.The characterization data about the physical properties of catalysts did not show an obvious correlation between the structure and morphology of Mn_(2)O_(3)catalysts and catalytic performance,neither was the surface area the determining factor for catalytic activity in the ethyl acetate oxidation.Here we firstly found there is a close linear relationship between the catalytic activity and the amount of lattice oxygen species in the ethyl acetate oxidation,indicating that lattice oxygen species were essential for excellent catalytic activity.Through H_(2)temperature-programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR)results,we found that the lowest initial reduction temperature over the Mn_(2)O_(3)-Cl had stronger oxygen mobility,thus more oxygen species participated in the oxidation reaction,resulting in the highest catalytic performance.With convenient preparation,high efficiency,and stability,Mn_(2)O_(3)prepared with MnCl_(2)will be a promising catalyst for removing ethyl acetate in practical application.Yan Zhang Meng Wang Shunyu Kang Tingting Pan Hua Deng Wenpo Shan Hong He 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,6:2
17Phenotypic similarities in pigs with SOX10^(c.321dupC)and SOX10^(c.325A>T)mutations implied the correlation of SOX10 haploinsufficiency with Waardenburg syndrome显示文摘SOX10 is a causative gene of Waardenburg syndrome(WS)that is a rare genetic disorder characterized by hearing loss and pigment disturbance.More than 100 mutations of SOX10 have been found in patients with Type 2 WS(WS2),Type 4 WS(WS4),and more complex syndromes.However,no mutation hotspot has been detected in SOX10,and most cases are sporadic,making it difficult to establish a correlation between the high phenotypic and genetic variability.In this study,a duplication of the 321th cytosine(c.321dupC)was introduced into SOX10 in pigs,which induced premature termination of the translation of SOX10(p.K108QfsX45).The premature stop codon in Exon 3 triggered the degradation of mutant mRNA through nonsense-mediated mRNA decay.However,SOX10^(c.321dupC) induced a highly similar phenotype of WS2 with heterogeneous inner ear malformation compared with its adjacent missense mutation SOX10^(c.325A>T).In addition,a site-saturation mutation analysis of the SOX10 N-terminal nuclear localization signal(n-NLS),where these two mutations located,revealed the correlation between SOX10 haploinsufficiency and WS by an in vitro reporter assay.The analysis combining the in vitro assay with clinical cases may provide a clue to clinical diagnoses.Tingting Lin Lihua Luo Weiwei Guo Wei Ren Chuanhong Liu Hong Wei Shiming Yang Yong Wang 2020Journal of Genetics and Genomics2020,47,12:2
18Comparison of the differentiation of dental pulp stem cells and periodontal ligament stem cells into neuron-like cells and their effects on focal cerebral ischemia显示文摘Recent studies have reported an in creasing in cidence of ischemic stroke,particularly in younger age groups.Dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs)and periodontal ligament stem cells(PDLSCs)are the most comm on stem cells acquired from the teeth of adults,even elderly people.However,there are no detailed reports on whether DPSCs or PDLSCs are suitable for the treatment of ischemic stroke.In this study,the in vitro differentiation of DPSCs and PDLSCs into neuron-like cells was evaluated.Then,we established a rat model of cerebral ischemia.DPSCs or PDLSCs were administered to animals,and the therapeutic effects of these two types of cells were investigated.The results showed that PDLSCs had a higher differentiation rate than DPSCs.Immunofluorescence studies showed that the expression of the neuronal differentiation markerThy-1 was higher in PDLSCs than in DPSCs,and other gene markers of neuronal differentiation showed corresponding trends,which were confirmed by western blot analysis.In this process,the Notch and Wnt signaling pathways were inhibited and activated,respectively.Fin ally,rats with transient occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery were used as a model to assess the therapeutic effect of PDLSCs and DPSCs on ischemia.The results showed that rats in the PDLSC-treated group emitted significantly greater red fluorescence signal than the DPSC-treated group.PDLSC transplantation promoted the recovery of neurological function more effectively than DPSC transplantation.Hence,PDLSCs represent an autogenous source of adult mesenchymal stem cells with desirable biological properties and may be an ideal candidate for clinical applications.Tingting Wu Wanting Xu Hanlin Chen Shasha Li Rengang Dou Hongtao Shen Xue Liu Xiaoyu Liu Yongfeng Hong Jiacai He 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,9:2

20Resonant transparency of a planar anapole metamaterial at terahertz frequencies显示文摘Anapole metamaterials have attracted growing attention in recent years due to their unique nonradiating and nontrivial properties. Although anapole modes have been demonstrated in metamaterials with threedimensional structures, the design and realization of planar anapole metamaterials in a wide frequency range is still a big challenge. Here we propose and experimentally demonstrate a planar anapole metamaterial consisting of dumbbell-shaped apertures on a stainless-steel sheet at terahertz frequencies. The planar metamaterial can generate a resonant transparency in the terahertz spectrum due to the excitation of the anapole mode.Particularly, the frequency of anapole-induced resonant transparency can be tuned easily in the range of 0.15–0.93 THz by simply varying one geometric parameter of the dumbbell apertures.
