7Deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes based on a well-ordered AlGaN nanorod array显示文摘The nanorod structure is an alternative scheme to develop high-efficiency deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes(DUV LEDs). In this paper, we first report the electrically injected 274-nm AlGaN nanorod array DUV LEDs fabricated by the nanosphere lithography and dry-etching technique. Nanorod DUV LED devices with good electrical properties are successfully realized. Compared to planar DUV LEDs, nanorod DUV LEDs present>2.5 times improvement in light output power and external quantum efficiency. The internal quantum efficiency of nanorod LEDs increases by 1.2 times due to the transformation of carriers from the exciton to the free electron–hole, possibly driven by the interface state effect of the nanorod sidewall surface. In addition, the nanorod array significantly facilitates photons escaping from the interior of LEDs along the vertical direction, contributing to improved light extraction efficiency. A three-dimensional finite-different time-domain simulation is performed to analyze further in detail the TE-and TM-polarized photon extraction mechanisms of the nanostructure. 8Highly sensitive detection of melamine based on reversed phase liquid chromatography mass spectrometry显示文摘In this work, we developed a highly sensitive method to detect melamine based on reversed phase liquid chromatography mass spectrometry. A mass spectrometry compatible ion pair, heptafluorobu-tyric acid(HFBA), was used to separate melamine by reversed phase liquid chromatography prior to electrospray mass spectrometry. The incorporation of isotope internal standard and multiple reaction monitoring improved the accuracy and linearity of quantification. Based on this strategy, the method limit of quantification was 0.1 ng/g. The limits of quantification were 8 ng/g for liquid milk and 15 ng/g for dry milk powder. 9Effect of drag reducing riblet surface on coherent structure in turbulent boundary layer显示文摘The characteristics of turbulent boundary layer over streamwise aligned drag reducing riblet surface under zero-pressure gradient are investigated using particle image velocimetry. The formation and distribution of large-scale coherent structures and their effect on momentum partition are analyzed using two-point correlation and probability density function. Compared with smooth surface, the streamwise riblets reduce the friction velocity and Reynolds stress in the turbulent boundary layer, indicating the drag reduction effect. Strong correlation has been found between the occurrence of hairpin vortices and the momentum distribution. The number and streamwise length scale of hairpin vortices decrease over streamwise riblet surface. 10Energy Optimization for Cellular-Connected Multi-UAV Mobile Edge Computing Systems with Multi-Access Schemes显示文摘In this paper,a cellular-connected unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)mobile edge computing system is studied where several UAVs are associated to a terrestrial base station(TBS)for computation offloading.To compute the large amount of data bits,a part of computation task is migrated to TBS and the other part is locally handled at UAVs.Our goal is to minimize the total energy consumption of all UAVs by jointly adjusting the bit allocation,power allocation,resource partitioning as well as UAV trajectory under TBS’s energy budget.For deeply comprehending the impact of multi-UAV access strategy on the system performance,four access schemes in the uplink transmission is considered,i.e.,time division multiple access,orthogonal frequency division multiple access,one-by-one access and non-orthogonal multiple access.The involved problems under different access schemes are all formulated in non-convex forms,which are difficult to be tackled optimally.To solve this class of problem,the successive convex approximation technique is employed to obtain the suboptimal solutions.The numerical results show that the proposed scheme save significant energy consumption compared with the benchmark schemes.Meng Hua Yongming Huang Yi Wang Qingqing Wu Haibo Dai Lyuxi Yang 2018Journal of Communications and Information Networks2018,3,4:6
11The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 12A multi-axis robot-based bioprinting system supporting natural cell function preservation and cardiac tissue fabrication显示文摘Despite the recent advances in artificial tissue and organ engineering,how to generate large size viable and functional complex organs still remains as a grand challenge for regenerative medicine.Three-dimensional bioprinting has demonstrated its advantages as one of the major methods in fabricating simple tissues,yet it still faces difficulties to generate vasculatures and preserve cell functions in complex organ production.Here,we overcome the limitations of conventional bioprinting systems by converting a six degree-of-freedom robotic arm into a bioprinter,therefore enables cell printing on 3D complex-shaped vascular scaffolds from all directions.We also developed an oil bath-based cell printing method to better preserve cell natural functions after printing.Together with a self-designed bioreactor and a repeated print-and-culture strategy,our bioprinting system is capable to generate vascularized,contractible,and long-term survived cardiac tissues.Such bioprinting strategy mimics the in vivo organ development process and presents a promising solution for in vitro fabrication of complex organs.Zeyu Zhang Chenming Wu Chengkai Dai Qingqing Shi Guoxin Fang Dongfang Xie Xiangjie Zhao Yong-Jin Liu Charlie CLWang Xiu-Jie Wang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,12:4
13The Distribution of Petroleum Resources and Characteristics of Main Petroliferous Basins along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road显示文摘The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road Initiative,abbreviated as the Belt and Road Initiative,is a primary development strategy of China's future international cooperation.Especially,the energy resource cooperation,including oil and gas resources cooperation,is an important part of this initiative.The Belt and Road has undergone complicated geological evolution,and contains abundant mineral resources such as oil,gas,coal,uranium,iron,copper,gold and manganese ore resources.Among these,Africa holds 7.8% of the world's total proven oil reserves.The oil and gas resources in Africa are relatively concentrated,with an overall low exploration degree and small consumption demand.Nigeria and Libya contain the most abundant oil resources in Africa,accounting for 2.2%and 2.9%of the world's total reserves,respectively.Nigeria and Algeria hold the richest natural gas resources in Africa,occupying 2.8%and 2.4%of the world's total reserves,respectively.Africa's oil and gas resources are mainly concentrated in Egypt,Sultan and Western Sahara regions in the northern Africa,and the Gulf of Guinea,Niger River and Congo River area in the western Africa.The Russia-Central Asia area holds rich petroleum resources in Russia,Kazakhstan,Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.The potential oil and gas areas include the West Siberia Basin,East Siberia Basin and sea continental shelf in Russia,the northern and central Caspian Basin in Kazakhstan,the right bank of the Amu-Darya Basin,the East Karakum uplift and the South Caspian Basin in Turkmenistan,and the Amu-Daria Basin,Fergana Basin,Afghan-Tajik Basin and North Ustyurt Basin in Uzbekistan.The Middle East oil and gas resources are mainly distributed in the Zagros foreland basin and Arabian continental margin basin,and the main oil-producing countries include Saudi Arabia,Iran and Iraq.The Asia Pacific region is a new oil and gas consumption center,with rapid growth of oil and gas demand.In 2012,this region consumed about 33.6%of the world's total oil consumption and 18.9%of the world's total natural gas consumption,which has been ranked the world's largest oil and gas consumption center.The oil and gas resources are concentrated in China,Indosinian,Malaysia,Australia and India.The abundant European proven crude oil reserves are in Norway,Britain and Denmark and also rich natural gas resources in Norway,Holland and Britain.Norway and Britain contain about 77.5%of European proven oil reserves,which accounts for only 0.9%of the world's proven reserves.The Europe includes main petroliferous basins of the Voring Basin,Anglo-Dutch Basin,Northwest German Basin,Northeast German-Polish Basin and Carpathian Basin.According to the analysis of source rocks,reservoir rocks,cap rocks and traps for the main petroliferous basins,the potential oil and gas prospecting targets in the Belt and Road are mainly the Zagros Basin and Arabic Platform in the Middle East,the East Barents Sea Basin and the East Siberia Basin in Russia-Central Asia,the Niger Delta Basin,East African rift system and the Australia Northwest Shelf.With the development of oil and gas theory and exploration technology,unconventional petroleum resources will play an increasingly important role in oil and gas industry.HAO Qingqing ZUO Yinhui LI Lintao CHEN Weijun YI Junjie WU Lei 2017Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,4:3
14The disbalance of LRP1 and SIRPα by psychological stress dampens the clearance of tumor cells by macrophages显示文摘The relationship between chronic psychological stress and tumorigenesis has been well defined in epidemiological studies;however, the underlying mechanism remains underexplored. In this study, we discovered that impaired macrophage phagocytosis contributed to the psychological stressevoked tumor susceptibility, and the stress hormone glucocorticoid(GC) was identified as a principal detrimental factor. Mechanistically, GC disturbed the balance of the 'eat me' signal receptor(low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-1, LRP1) and the 'don’t eat me' signal receptor(signal regulatory protein alpha, SIRPa). Further analysis revealed that GC led to a direct, glucocorticoid receptor(GR)-dependent trans-repression of LRP1 expression, and the repressed LRP1, in turn, resulted in the elevatedgene level of SIRPa by down-regulating mi RNA-4695-3 p. These data collectively demonstrate that stress induces the imbalance of the LRP1/SIRPa axis and entails the disturbance of tumor cell clearance by macrophages. 17Lipidomics reveals association of circulating lipids with body mass index and outcomes in IgA nephropathy patients显示文摘IgA nephropathy(IgAN)is a leading cause of chronic kidney disease(CKD),which are commonly accompanied by dyslipidemia.Obesity is also associated with dyslipidemia and risk of CKD,but the relation of the dyslipidemia patterns with obesity and disease progression in IgAN patients remains unknown.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and the combined treatment with corticosteroids and TCM have been shown to be of benefit for IgAN patients,but predictive markers for guiding these treatments are lacking.Here,we quantified 545 lipid species in the plasma from 196 participants,including 140 IgAN patients and 56 healthy volunteers,and revealed an altered plasma lipidome in IgAN patients as compared to healthy participants.Association analysis showed that a subgroup of glycerides,particularly triacylglycerols(TGs)containing docosahexaenoic acid,were positively associated with high body mass index(BMI)in under-or normal-weight IgAN patients,while several free fatty acids and sphingomyelins were positively associated with high BMI in overweight or obese IgAN patients.Further,our study suggested that elevated levels of eight lipids,mainly TG species containing linolenic acid,were independent risk factors for IgAN progression and also reported the prospective association of circulating lipids with treatment outcomes in IgAN.Taken together,our findings may not only help to achieve precision medicine but also provide a knowledge base for dietary intervention in the treatment of IgAN.Yueyi Deng Qingqing Wu Wanjia Chen Li Zhu Wangyi Liu Fangying Xia Liang Sun Xu Lin Rong Zeng 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,8:2
18Geometric Characteristics of Tropical Cyclone Eyes before Landfall in South China Based on Ground-Based Radar Observations显示文摘The geometric characteristics of tropical cyclone(TC) eyes before landfall in South China are examined using groundbased radar reflectivity. It is found that the median and mean eye area decrease with TC intensity, except for the severe typhoon category, and the eye size increases with height. The increasing rate of eye size is relatively greater in upper layers.Moreover, the ratio of eye size change in the vertical direction does not correlate with TC intensity. No relationship is presented between the ratio of eye size change in the vertical direction and the vertical wind shear. No relationship between the vertical change in eye size and the eye size at a certain level is found, inconsistent with other studies. No relationship exists between the vertical change in eye size and the intensity tendency. 19A New Indicator for Global Food Security Assessment: Harvested Area Rather Than Cropland Area显示文摘Cropland area has long been used as a key indicator of food security.However,grain yield is not solely controlled by the area of the cropland.Therefore,we proposed a new indicator to assess food security.Results show that from 1992 to 2004,the global cropland area increased by 840200 km^(2)(99.4%),but the grain yield increased only by 310 million t(29.1%);and from 2004 to 2015,the cropland area decreased by 39000 km^(2)(4.64%),but the grain yield increased by 370 million t(70.84%).This result showed that grain yield was not linearly correlated with cropland area,and delimiting the threshold of cropland protection may not guarantee food security.Combined with further correlation analysis,we found that the increase in the global grain yield was more closely related to the harvested area(R^(2)=0.94),which indicated that the harvested area is a more scientific and accurate indicator than cropland area in terms of guaranteeing food security.Therefore,if governments want to ensure the food security,they should choose a new and more accurate indicator:harvested area rather than cropland area.SONG Fengjiao WANG Shijie BAI Xiaoyong WU Luhua WANG Jinfeng LI Chaojun CHEN Huan LUO Xuling XI Huipeng ZHANG Sirui LUO Guofeng YAN Mengqi ZHEN Qingqing 2022Chinese Geographical Science2022,32,2:2
