3Comparative experimental study on reactive crystallization of Ni(OH)2 in an airlift-loop reactor and a stirred reactor显示文摘The objective of this work is to study the reactive crystallization in an airlift-loop reactor(ALR)using the precipitation of Ni(OH)_2 as a model reaction.The growth of Ni(OH)_2 particles in an ALR and a stirred tank was quantified by scanning electronic microscope(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),laser particle analyzer,tap densitometer and optical microscope,and the growth process of Ni(OH)_2 particles is analyzed.It is found that the Ni(OH)_2 particles prepared in an ALR have a better sphericity than those in a stirred tank and the growth of Ni(OH)_2 particle tap density mainly depends on the size of crystallites:the bigger the size of crystallites,the bigger the tap density is.Based on these,the growth process of Ni(OH)_2 particles in ALR is elaborated.Crystallites precipitated from solution aggregate to form large particles with much void.These constituting crystallites continue to grow up,that takes up the void inside particles and makes the tap density increase.Tianrong Cao Weipeng Zhang Jingcai Cheng Chao Yang 2018Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2018,26,1:4

9Degradation of differently processed Mg-based implants leads to distinct foreign body reactions(FBRs)through dissimilar signaling pathways显示文摘Mg alloys have mechanical properties compatible with human bones.However,their rapid degradation and associated foreign body reactions in vivo significantly limit their application for human implants.In this study,three differently processed Mg alloys,pure Mg(PM),cold extruded Mg alloy AZ31(CE AZ31),and fully annealed AZ31 Mg alloy(FA AZ31)were comparatively investigated for their potential as implants using a rat model.All three implanted Mg alloys do not show any impact on hepato-and renal function,nor any signs of observable changes to vital organs.Proteomics analysis of tissues directly contacting the implants 2.5 months post implantation revealed that FA AZ31 activates very few inflammation and immune associated signaling pathways;while the CE AZ31 and PM produce more significant inflammatory responses as confirmed by cytokine array analyses.Further,FA AZ31 activated pathways for cell organization and development that may improve the recovery of injured tissues.Structurally,EBSD analysis reveals that the FA AZ31 alloy has a higher ratio of first-order pyramidal orientated(10–11){10–1–2}grain texture with a value of 0.25,while PM and CE AZ31 alloys have lower ratios of first-order pyramidal orientated texture with the values of 0.16 and 0.17,respectively.This is associated with recovery and recrystallisation during annealing which promotes grain texture which exhibits enhanced degradation behaviours and induces a more limited immune response in vivo.In conclusion,the FA AZ31 demonstrated better biocompatibility and corrosion resistance and is a promising candidate for metal-based degradable implants which warrants further investigation.Xiaosong Liu Guoqiang Chen Xiongxiong Zhong Tianfang Wang Xiaohong He Weipeng Yuan Pingping Zhang Ying Liu Dongming Cao Shu Chen Ken-ichi Manabe Zhengyi Jiang Tsuyoshi Furushima Damon Kent Yang Chen Guoying Ni Mingyong Gao Hejie Li 2023Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2023,11,6:0
10Fully self-powered instantaneous wireless liquid level sensor system based on triboelectric nanogenerator显示文摘Self-powered sensors are highly sought for wireless sensing applications in space exploration,industries,and environmental monitoring,etc.However,most current self-powered sensor technologies are based on the multiple energy conversion routine:energy collection,rectification,energy storage,and power management before it can be used for sensor systems,leading to exceptionally low energy utilization efficiency and very short periods of wireless sensing operation with majority of information lost.Here,we propose a triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)based fully self-powered instantaneous and real-time wireless sensor system which does not contain electronic devices and microchips,but the passive components only.An innovative cylindrical capacitive-type liquid level sensor is also proposed and is then integrated into the wireless sensor system for monitoring liquid levels or identifying substance of the liquids.This sensor system can convert pulsed voltage output of the TENG into sinusoidal signal with a resonant frequency containing the sensing information and is transmitted to the receiver in distance in real-time.The maximum transmission distance of the sensor system could reach 1.5 m for a 10 cm diameter magnetic-core coil pair.The wireless sensor system exhibited excellent stability and excellent linearity with a sensitivity of 4.63 kHz/cm,and demonstrated its great application potential for the self-powered liquid level monitoring.Liangquan Xu Yuzhi Tang Chi Zhang Fuhai Liu Jinkai Chen Weipeng Xuan Hao Jin Zhi Ye Zhen Cao Yubo Li Xiaozi Wang Shurong Dong Jikui Luo 2022Nano Research2022,15,6:0
11Physiological and Proteomic Analyses Reveal Effects of Putrescine-Alleviated Aluminum Toxicity in Rice Roots显示文摘The effects of putrescine on improving rice growth under aluminum(Al)toxicity conditions have been previously demonstrated,however,the underlying mechanism remains unclear.In this study,treatment with 50 pmol/L Al significantly decreased rice root growth and whole rice dry weight,inhibited Ca2+uptake,decreased ATP syn thesis,and in creased Al,H2O2 and malon dialdehyde(MDA)con tents,whereas the application of putrescine mitigated these negative effects.Putrescine increased root growth and total dry weight of rice,reduced total Al content,decreased H2O2 and MDA contents by increasing antioxidant enzyme(superoxide dismutase,peroxidase,catalase and glutathione S・transferase)activities,increased Ca2+uptake and energy product!oru Proteomic analyses using data-independent acquisition successfully identified 7934 proteins,and 59 representative proteins exhibiting fold-change values higher than 1.5 were randomly selected.From the results of the proteomic and biochemical analyses,we found that putrescine significantly inhibited ethylene biosynthesis and phosphorus uptake in rice roots,increased pectin methylation,decreased pectin content and apoplastic Al deposit!on in rice roots.Putrescine also alleviated Al toxicity by repairing damaged DNA and increasing the proteins involved in maintaining plasma membra ne integrity and normal cell proliferation.These fin dings improve our understanding of how putrescine affects the rice response to Al toxicity,which will facilitate further studies on environmental protection,crop safety,in novations in rice performance and real-world producti on.ZHU Chunquan HU Wenjun CAO Xiaochuang ZHU Lianfeng KONG Yali JIN Qianyu SHEN Guoxin WANG Weipeng ZHANG Hui ZHANG Junhua 2021Rice science2021,28,6:0

13Analytical and experimental study of a valveless piezoelectric micropump with high flowrate and pressure load显示文摘Miniaturized gas pumps based on electromagnetic effect have been intensively studied and widely applied in industries.However,the electromagnetic effect-based gas pumps normally have large sizes,high levels of noises and high power consumption,thus they are not suitable for wearable/portable applications.Herein,we propose a high-flowrate and high-pressure load valveless piezoelectric micropump with dimensions of 16 mm*16 mm*5 mm.The working frequency,vibration mode and displacement of the piezoelectric actuator,the velocity of gas flow,and the volume flowrate of the micropump are analyzed using the finite element analysis method.The maximum vibration amplitude of the piezoelectric actuator reaches~29.4μm.The output gas flowrate of the pump is approximately 135 mL/min,and the maximum output pressure exceeds 40 kPa.Then,a prototype of the piezoelectric micropump is fabricated.Results show that performance of the micropump is highly consistent with the numerical analysis with a high flowrate and pressure load,demonstrated its great potential for wearable/portable applications,especially for blood pressure monitoring.Jiafeng Ni Weipeng Xuan Yilin Li Jinkai Chen Wenjun Li Zhen Cao Shurong Dong Hao Jin Lingling Sun Jikui Luo 2023Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,3:0
