| 1 | Stability improvement under high efficiency—next stage development of perovskite solar cells显示文摘With efficiency of perovskite solar cells(PSCs) overpassing 23%, to realize their commercialization, the biggest challenge now is to boost the stability to the same level as conventional solar cells. Thus, tremendous effort has been directed over the past few years toward improving the stability of these cells. Various methods were used to improve the stability of bulk perovskites,including compositional engineering, interface adjustment, dimensional manipulation, crystal engineering, and grain boundary decoration. Diverse device configurations, carrier transporting layers, and counter electrodes are investigated. To compare the stability of PSCs and clarify the degradation mechanism, diverse characterization methods were developed. Overall stability of PSCs has become one central topic for the development of PSCs. | 2 | Synthesis and mesomorphism of diacetylene-bridged triphenylene discotic liquid crystal dimers显示文摘Connecting two discotic mesogens via a spacer not only stabilizes the columnar mesophase but also leads to the formation of glass columnar phase, and therefore improves the physical properties of discotic liquid crystals as organic semiconductor. Here, we report the synthesis of eight diacetylene-bridged triphenylene discotic liquid crystal dimers, [C18H6(OCnH2n+1)4(OMe)O2C-C8H16-C≡≡ C-]2, 3(n), (n = 4-8), [C18H6(OC6H13)5O2C-C8H16-C≡≡ C-]2, 6 and [C18H6(OC6H13)5O-(CH2)m-C≡≡ C-]2, 8(m), (m = 1, 3) by Eglinton coupling reaction. The thermotropic liquid crystal properties were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and polarized optical microscopy. The results are showed as follows: the length of peripheral alkyl chains of triphenylene influenced properties of liquid crystal dimers; dimers 3(n) (n = 5-8) and 6 had glass columnar phase, and no crystallization was observed above -50℃ for all the triphenylene dimers; compared with 3(6), 6 showed higher molecular symmetry, more stable columnar mesophase and wider mesophase range. | 4 | Genomic landscapes of Chinese sporadic autism spectrum disordersrevealed by whole-genome sequencing显示文摘Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder with considerable clinical and genetic heterogeneity.In this study,we identified all classes of genomic variants from whole-genome sequencing (WGS) dataset of 32 Chinese trios with ASD,including de novo mutations,inherited variants,copy number variants (CNVs) and genomic structural variants.A higher mutation rate (Poisson test,P<2.2×10^(-16)) in exonic (1.37×10^(-8)) and 3'-UTR regions (1.42×10^(-8)) was revealed in comparison with that of whole genome (1.05×10^(-8)).Using an integrated model,we identified 87 potentially risk genes (P<0.01) from 4832 genes harboring various rare deleterious variants,including CHD8 and NRXN2,implying that the disorders may be in favor to multiple-hit.In particular,frequent rare inherited mutations of several microcephaly-associated genes (ASPM,WDR62,and ZNF335)were found in ASD.In chromosomal structure analyses,we found four de novo CNVs and one de novo chromosomal rearrangement event,including a de novo duplication of UBE3A-containing region at 15q11.2-q13.1,which causes Angelman syndrome and microcephaly,and a disrupted TNR due to de novo chromosomal translocation t (1;5) (q25.1;q33.2).Taken together,our results suggest that abnormalities of centrosomal function and chromatin remodeling of the microcephaly-associated genes may be implicated in pathogenesis of ASD.Adoption of WGS as a new yet efficient technique to illustrate the full genetic spectrum in complex disorders,such as ASD,could provide novel insights into pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment. | Jinyu Wu Ping Yu Xin Jin Xiu Xu Jinchen Li Zhongshan Li Mingbang Wang Tao Wang Xueli Wu Yi Jiang Wanshi Cai Junpu Mei Qingjie Min Qiong Xu Bingrui Zhou Hui Guo Ping Wang Wenhao Zhou Zhengmao Hu Yingrui Li Tao Cai Yi Wang Kun Xia Yong-Hui Jiang Zhong Sheng Sun | 2018 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2018,45,10: | 3 |

| 7 | Upcycling biomass waste into Fe single atom catalysts for pollutant control显示文摘Contaminants of heavy metals and antibiotics, which are frequently detected in water, soil and food chains with increasing prevalence in our current society, can cause potential harm to human health and disrupt human ecosystem irreversibly. Herein, we have successfully utilized biomass waste ferns contaminated by iron mines, to fabricate a first-of-its-kind high-performance class of Fe single-atom catalysts(FeSAC) by a facile pyrolysis. The optimal FeSAC-800 shows an excellent efficiency in the fastphotocatalytic degradation of six types of quinolone antibiotics(e.g., norfloxacin, levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin, lomefloxacin, flumequine) in 1 h under the simulated natural light irradiation. Based on advanced characterization, a well-defined structure of FeN_(4), confined in the porous carbon is elaborated for the FeSAC-800. Mechanism of the photodegradation is via a Fenton-like oxidation process whereas the reactive oxygen species play a key role. | 8 | High-risk phenotypes of genetic disease in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit population显示文摘To the Editor: Genetic diseases contribute to 35% of deaths during the first year of life and are a significant cause of intensive care.[1] A previous study based on the China Neonatal Genomes Project investigated the genetic causes of early infant deaths and found that >25% of deceased neonates with genetic diagnoses can be cured if diagnosed in time.[2] Therefore, it is crucial to target and diagnose neonates with genetic diseases as early as possible. According to our experience, the typical phenotypes, such as special facial features or multiple congenital anomalies (MCAs), indicate a high risk of genetic disease and lead physicians to perform genetic testing in neonates as early as possible. However, in practice, infants without typical phenotypes typically undergo a long and costly diagnostic process before genetic diagnoses are confirmed. Moreover, a recent survey by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) and other national professional organizations indicated that there are insufficient numbers of qualified geneticists to fulfil genetic service needs.[3] The ACMG published the general clinical features for genetic testing indications. For example, patients with phenotypes or family history data that strongly implicate a genetic cause may undergo genetic testing.[1] However, the study indicated that many genetic conditions arise de novo or are inherited with no family history.[1] A previous study attempted to apply the non-phenotype-driven panel approach in neonates admitted to the neonate intensive care unit (NICU).[4] However, at present, the diagnostic yield is only 3.45% (1/29).[4] In addition, the economic and ethical issues associated with genomic screening remain challenging. | 12 | SAFE:a Scalable Filter-Based Packet Filtering Scheme显示文摘Recently, Denial-of-Service(Do S) attacks have become the mainstream threat to the Internet service availability. The filter-based packet filtering is a key technology to defend against such attacks. Relying on the filtering location, the proposed schemes can be grouped into Victim-end Filtering and Source-end Filtering. The fi rst scheme uses a single fi ltering router to block the attack flows near the victim, but does not take the factor that the filters are scarce resource into account, which causes the huge loss of legitimate flows; considering each router could contribute a few filters, the other extreme scheme pushes the fi ltering location back into each attack source so as to obtain ample filters, but this may incur the severe network transmission delay due to the abused filtering routers. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a scalable filter-based packet filtering scheme to balance the number of filtering routers and the available filters. | 19 | Science with the 2.5-meter Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST)显示文摘The Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST) is a dedicated photometric surveying facility being built jointly by University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) and the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO). It is equipped with a 2.5-meter diameter primary mirror, an active optics system, and a mosaic CCD camera with 0.73 gigapixels on the primary focal plane for highquality image capture over a 6.5-square-degree field of view. The installation of WFST near the summit of Saishiteng mountain in the Lenghu region is scheduled in summer of 2023, and the operation is planned to start three months later. WFST will scan the northern sky in four optical bands(u, g, r and i) at cadences from hourly/daily in the deep high-cadence survey(DHS) program, to semi-weekly in the wide field survey(WFS) program. During a photometric night, a nominal 30 s exposure in the WFS program will reach a depth of 22.27, 23.32, 22.84, and 22.31(AB magnitudes) in these four bands, respectively, allowing for the detection of a tremendous amount of transients in the low-z universe and a systematic investigation of the variability of Galactic and extragalactic objects. In the DHS program, intranight 90 s exposures as deep as 23(u) and 24 mag(g), in combination with target of opportunity follow-ups, will provide a unique opportunity to explore energetic transients in demand for high sensitivities, including the electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave events, supernovae within a few hours of their explosions,tidal disruption events and fast, luminous optical transients even beyond redshift of unity. In addition, the final 6-year co-added images, anticipated to reach g■25.8 mag in WFS or 1.5 mags deeper in DHS, will be of fundamental importance to general Galactic and extragalactic science. The highly uniform legacy surveys of WFST will serve as an indispensable complement to those of the Vera C.
