Understanding SARS-CoV-2-Mediated Inflammatory Responses: From Mechanisms to Potential Therapeutic Tools显示文摘Currently there is no effective antiviral therapy for SARS-CoV-2 infection, which frequently leads to fatal inflammatory responses and acute lung injury. Here, we discuss the various mechanisms of SARS-CoV-mediated inflammation. We also assume that SARS-CoV-2 likely shares similar inflammatory responses. Potential therapeutic tools to reduce SARS-CoV-2-induced inflammatory responses include various methods to block FcR activation. In the absence of a proven clinical FcR blocker, the use of intravenous immunoglobulin to block FcR activation may be a viable option for the urgent treatment of pulmonary inflammation to prevent severe lung injury. Such treatment may also be combined with systemic anti-inflammatory drugs or corticosteroids. However, these strategies, as proposed here, remain to be clinically tested for effectiveness. | Yajing Fu Yuanxiong Cheng Yuntao Wu | 2020 | Virologica Sinica2020,35,3: | 54

Research Progress on Evaluation Frameworks of Regional Ecological Sustainability显示文摘As natural ecosystems provide the material basis and fundamental support for regional sustainable devel-opment,the sustainability of natural ecosystems is an important prerequisite and a viable approach for the achievement of regional sustainable development. It is also the final criteria to assess whether sustainable development paradigm is successful.Along with the increasing impacts of human activities on natural ecosystems, the evaluation of regional ecological sustainability has become one of the key issues for research on macro ecology and sustainable development.Based on different unit of indicators, this study firstly groups the evaluation frameworks of regional ecological sus-tainability into three major types:comprehensive index evaluation with dimensionless unit, monetary valuation, and biophysical quantity measurement. We then discuss and compare these types in terms of basic principles, scope of ap-plications,advantages and shortcomings. Finally, drawn on the discussion about characteristics of ecological sustain-ability,we outline the current trend and future directions of regional ecological sustainability evaluation, for instance, transition from sustainable development evaluation to sustainability science, integration of goal-oriented and problem-solving approaches, combination of spatial pattern analysis and ecological sustainability evaluation, and en-hancement of ecological sustainability evaluation at landscape scale. | PENG Jian WANG Yanglin WU Jiansheng SHEN Hong PAN Yajing | 2011 | Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,4: | 9
Ce and Er Co-doped TiO2 for rapid bacteria- killing using visible light显示文摘Bacterial infection and related diseases are threatening the health of human beings.Photocatalytic disinfection as a simple and low-cost disinfection strategy is attracting more and more attention. In this work,TiO2 nanoparticles(NPs)were modified by co-doping of Ce and Er using the sol-gel method, which endowed TiO2 NPs with enhanced visible light photocatalytic performance but not pure ultraviolet photocatalytic properties compared the untreated TiO2.Our results disclosed that as the doping content of Er increased, the photocatalytic activity of modified TiO2 NPs initially increased and subsequently decreased. The same trend occurred for Ce doping. When the doping dose of Er and Ce is 0.5 mol%and 0.2 mol%,the 0.5Ce0.2Ti-O calcined at 800℃ presented the best antibacterial properties, with the antibacterial efficiency of 91.23%and 92.8%for Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, respectively. The existence of Er ions is thought to successfully turn the near-infrared radiation into visible region, which is easier to be absorbed by TiO2 NPs.Meanwhile, the addition of Ce ions can effectively extend spectral response range and inhibit the recombination of electrons and holes, enhancing the photocatalytic disinfection activity of co-doped TiO2. | Yawei Ren Yajing Han Zhaoyang Li Xiangmei Liu Shengli Zhu Yanqin Liang Kelvin Wai Kwok Yeung Shuilin Wu | 2020 | Bioactive Materials2020,5,2: | 7
Review: Utilization of yeast of Saccharomyces cerevisiae origin in artificially raised calves显示文摘Yeast of Saccharomyces cerevisiae(SCY) origin has over long time been incorporated into domestic animal diets. In calves, several products have offered improved performance and health. Although several types of research have been completed, the mode of action of SCY is not clear in calves. Under this review, we have highlighted the works available in the literature on the use of SCY in calves performance, health, immunity, and the gut environment. Both active live yeast and yeast culture have positive effects on growth, rumen, small intestines, immunity and general health of the calf. Specifically, SCY can improve DMI, growth, feed efficiency and reduce diarrhea in calves. Furthermore, subtle improvements are seen in rumen fermentation(increased butyrate production) and rumen papillae growth. These positive results are, however, more pronounced in calves that are under stress or exposed to significant levels of disease-causing agents. There is a need for further research in areas such as gut morphology, gut microbiology and immunity using latest molecular methods to fully understand how SCY helps the growth and development of calves. | Gibson M.Alugongo Jianxin Xiao Zhaohai Wu Shengli Li Yajing Wang Zhijun Cao | 2017 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2017,8,3: | 6
Imitation of drug metabolism in cell co-culture microcapsule model using a microfluidic chip platform coupled to mass spectrometry显示文摘In this work,a multi-functional analysis platform by coupling a microfluidic chip to a mass spectrometry(MS) detector was described. We constructed a three-dimensional tumor-endothelial co-culture model for simulating drug resistance during tumor treatment. On this specially designed integrated platform, the first step was to prepare heterogeneous cell-encapsulated alginate microcapsules for threedimensional co-culture,and the second step was to achieve on-line perfusion culture and continuous drug stimulation on chip.It facilitates cell proliferation analysis and the collection of metabolism medium. After micro solid phase extraction column(SPE) pretreatment, subsequent mass spectrometry could detect drug metabolism. The high activity of two kinds of cells(A549 and HUVEC) shows the biocompatibility of the platform.Paclitaxel was used as a model drug, the distinctions of drug absorption between the mono-culture group and co-culture group were clearly observed by electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(ESI-Q-TOF MS).Therefore, the integrated platform has shown promise as a high throughput, low cost for cell metabolism research and drug screening processes. | Yajing Zheng Zengnan Wu Jin-Ming Lin Ling Lin | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,2: | 4

2022 Chinese expert consensus and guidelines on clinical management of toxicity in anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy for B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma显示文摘Adoptive cellular immunotherapy with chimeric antigen receptor(CAR)T cells has emerged as a novel modality for treating relapsed and/or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma(B-NHL).With increasing approval of CAR T-cell products and advances in CAR T cell therapy,CAR T cells are expected to be used in a growing number of cases. However,CAR T-cell-associated toxicities can be severe or even fatal, thus compromising the survival benefit from this therapy.Standardizing and studying the clinical management of these toxicities are imperative. In contrast to other hematological malignancies, such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia and multiple myeloma,anti-CD19 CAR T-cell-associated toxicities in B-NHL have several distinctive features, most notably local cytokine-release syndrome(CRS).However, previously published guidelines have provided few specific recommendations for the grading and management of toxicities associated with CAR T-cell treatment for B-NHL.Consequently,we developed this consensus for the prevention, recognition, and management of these toxicities,on the basis of published literature regarding the management of anti-CD19 CAR T-cell-associated toxicities and the clinical experience of multiple Chinese institutions. This consensus refines a grading system and classification of CRS in B-NHL and corresponding measures for CRS management, and delineates comprehensive principles and exploratory recommendations for managing anti-CD19 CAR T-cell-associated toxicities in addition to CRS. | Ping Li Yang Liu Yun Liang Jian Bo Sujun Gao Yongxian Hu Yu Hu He Huang Xiaojun Huang Hongmei Jing Xiaoyan Ke Jianyong Li Yuhua Li Qifa Liu Peihua Lu Heng Mei Ting Niu Yongping Song Yuqin Song Liping Su Sanfang Tu Jianxiang Wang Depei Wu Zhao Wang Kailin Xu Zhitao Ying Qingming Yang Yajing Zhang Fengxia Shi Bin Zhang Huilai Zhang Xi Zhang Mingfeng Zhao Weili Zhao Xiangyu Zhao Liang Huang Jun Zhu Wenbin Qian Weidong Han Aibin Liang | 2023 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2023,20,2: | 3
Shenkang injection improves coagulation in patients with chronic kidney disease: a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Shenkang injection(SKI) on chronic kidney disease(CKD).METHODS: Seven databases including Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, PubMed, EMBASE, MEDLINE, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, and CQVIP from their inception to March 2018 were searched. Only randomized controlled trials that evaluated conventional treatment and conventional treatment with SKI in CKD patients were investigated. Outcomes such as fibrinogen(FIB), D-dimer, prothrombin time(PT), activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT), and the side effects of SKI were analyzed using Revman 5.3 software. The quality of the studies was assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration’s Risk of Bias tool and the quality of evidence was assessed using GRADEpro.RESULTS: Four randomized controlled trials were investigated in our analysis, and these studies were of moderate quality. For FIB and D-dimer, SKI had a superior effect compared with the control group(mean difference(MD)=-1.23, 95% confidence interval(CI):-1.46,-0.99, P < 0.01;MD =-0.36, 95%CI:-0.51,-0.21, P < 0.01, respectively)SKI increased APTT and PT compared with the control(MD = 7.34, 95% CI: 3.05, 11.62, P < 0.01;MD = 3.40,95% CI: 2.2, 4.61, P < 0.01, respectively). In the four studies, there were no side effects that were related to SKI.CONCLUSION: SKI may be effective in improving coagulation in patients with CKD without obvious adverse reactions. However, more well-designed studies are required to confirm the findings. | Song Zilin Qin Tianyu Pan Yajing Hua Qian Wu Lili Liu Tonghua | 2019 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,4: | 3
Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for patients with acute leukemia显示文摘Objective: The purposes of this study were to assess the efficacy of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for acute leukemia (AL) and analyze the factors affecting the prognosis of these patients. Methods: The clinical and follow-up data of 93 AL patients (median age, 30 years) undergoing allogeneic HSCT in Xiangya Hospital over the past 12 years were collected, and the potential factors affecting the efficacy and prognosis of allogeneic HSCT patients were determined. Results: Hematopoietic reconstitution was achieved in 90 patients. At the last follow-up, the incidences of severe acute graft versus host disease (aGvHD) and extensive chronic GvHD (cGvHD) were 14.0% and 20.0%, the 3-year cumulative incidence of transplantation related mortality (TRM) and relapse rate were 16.8%±6.1% and 21.3%±6.7%, and the estimated 3-year overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) of the patients were 64.6%±5.4% and 56.5%±5.5%, respectively. Univariate analysis indicated that age older than 40 years, HLA mismatch, and severe lung infection within the first 100 days after transplantation were risk factors for severe aGvHD, age older than 40 years, HLA mismatch, severe lung infection within the first 100 days after transplantation, and severe aGvHD were risk factors for TRM, high-risk AL and lack of cGvHD were risk factors for relapse (all P<0.05). Survival estimation showed that HLA mismatch, severe lung infection occurring within the first 100 days post-transplantation, high-risk AL severe aGvHD and lack of cGvHD were risk factors associated with poor prognosis (all P<0.05). Further multivariate analyses revealed that severe lung infection within the first 100 days post-transplantation, severe aGvHD and lack of cGvHD were independent risk factors for unfavorable outcomes (all P<0.05). Conclusions: Allogeneic HSCT can improve the DFS of AL patients, and severe lung infection within the first 100 days post-transplantation, severe aGvHD and lack of cGvHD are independent risk factors affecting the prognosis. | Yan Chen Yajing Xu Gan Fu Yi Liu Jie Peng Bin Fu Xiaoyu Yuan Hongya Xin Yan Zhu Qun He Dengshu Wu Yigang Shu Xiaolin Li Xielan Zhao Fangping Chen | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,4: | 3

Ascorbate peroxidase 1 confers resistance to southern corn leaf blight in maize显示文摘Southern corn leaf blight (SCLB), caused by Bipolarismaydis, is one of the most devastatingdiseases affecting maize production. However, only one SLCB resistance gene, conferring partialresistance, is currently known, underscoring theimportance of isolating new SCLB resistancerelatedgenes. Here, we performed a comparativeproteomic analysis and identified 258 proteinsshowing differential abundance during the maizeresponse to B. maydis. These proteins included anascorbate peroxidase (Zea mays ascorbate peroxidase1 (ZmAPX1)) encoded by a gene locatedwithin the mapping interval of a previously identifiedquantitative trait locus associated with SCLBresistance. ZmAPX1 overexpression resulted inlower H_(2)O_(2) accumulation and enhanced resistanceagainst B. maydis. Jasmonic acid (JA)contents and transcript levels for JA biosynthesisand responsive genes increased in ZmAPX1-overexpressing plants infected with B. maydis, whereas Zmapx1 mutants showed the oppositeeffects. We further determined that low levels of H_(2)O_(2) are accompanied by an accumulation of JAthat enhances SCLB resistance. These resultsdemonstrate that ZmAPX1 positively regulatesSCLB resistance by decreasing H_(2)O_(2) accumulationand activating the JA-mediated defensesignaling pathway. This study identified ZmAPX1as a potentially useful gene for increasing SCLBresistance. Furthermore, the generated datamay be relevant for clarifying the functions ofplant APXs. | Jinghua Zhang Xingmeng Jia Guan-Feng Wang Shijun Ma Shunxi Wang Qin Yang Xueyan Chen Yuqian Zhang Yajing Lyu Xiaoxu Wang Jiawei Shi Yangtao Zhao Yanhui Chen Liuji Wu | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,6: | 2

Trans-cinnamaldehyde promotes nitric oxide release via the protein kinase-B/v-Akt murine thymoma viral oncogene-endothelial nitric oxide synthase pathway to alleviate hypertension in SHR.Cg-Lepr^(cp)/NDmcr rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate whether endothelial dysfunction and hypertension are prevented by trans-cinnamaldehyde(t CA) through the activation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase(e NOS).METHODS:Human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) were cultured in vitro and stimulated with t CA to determine cell viability using the methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay. The effect of t CA on nitric oxide(NO) production was determined by diaminofluorescein-dyes in the absence or presence of inhibitors of e NOS,AMPK,PKA,and AKT.The effect of t CA on blood pressure was determined by the tail-cuff method in obesity spontaneous hypertension(SHR.Cg-Leprcp/NDmcr) rats. The phosphorylation of e NOS and protein expression of the insulin-signaling pathway(Ins R-IRS1-PI3 K-AKT)were measured by western blot.RESULTS:t CA at concentrations less than 100 μM did not affect cell viability in cultured HUVECs.Stimulation with t CA promoted NO release in a time-dependent manner compared with the control group.t CA-treated HUVECs also significantly increased AKT-Ser473 and e NOS-Ser1177 phosphorylation. In SHR-CP rats, treatment with t CA at a dose of 40 mg/kg/day for 6 weeks markedly reduced the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure, increased the phosphorylation of AKT and e NOS,and increased urinary nitric oxidation.CONCLUSION:t CA attenuated endothelial dysfunction and reduced blood pressure in SHR-CP rats. The underlying mechanisms may involve the increase in AKT and e NOS phosphorylation and the release of e NOS-derived NO. | Zhang Lu Wu Lili Liu Ximing Yoshitomi Hisae Ikeda Katsumi Negishi Hiroko Pan Yajing Sun Wen Qin Lingling Li Juan-E Xu Tunhai Liu Tonghua Gao Ming | 2018 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,4: | 2
Deep white matter hyperintensity is spatially correlated to MRI-visible perivascular spaces in cerebral small vessel disease on 7 Tesla MRI显示文摘Background The association between perivascular space(PVS)and white matter hyperintensity(WMH)has been unclear.Normal-appearing white matter(NAWM)around WMH is also found correlated with the development of focal WMH.This study aims to investigate the topological connections among PVS,deep WMH(dWMH)and NAWM around WMH using 7 Tesla(7T)MRI.Methods Thirty-two patients with non-confluent WMHs and 16 subjects without WMHs were recruited from our department and clinic. We compared the PVS burden between patients with and without WMHs using a 5-point scale. Then, the dilatation and the number of PVS within a radius of 1 cm around each dWMH were compared with those of a reference site(without WMH)in the contralateral hemisphere. In this study,we define NAWM as an area within the radius of 1 cm around each dWMH.Furthermore,we assessed the spatial relationship between dWMH and PVS.Results Higher PVS scores in the centrum semiovale were found in patients with>5 dWMHs(median 3)than subjects without dWMH(median 2,p=0.014).We found there was a greater dilatation and a higher number of PVS in NAWM around dWMH than at the reference sites(p<0.001,p<0.001).In addition,79.59%of the dWMHs were spatially connected with PVS.Conclusion dWMH,NAWM surrounding WMH and MRI-visible PVS are spatially correlated in the early stage of cerebral small vessel disease.Future study of WMH and NAWM should not overlook MRI-visible PVS. | Yajing Huo Yilin Wang Cen Guo Qianyun Liu Lili Shan Mingyuan Liu Haibo Wu Guanwu Li Huihui Lv Lingdan Lu Yintin Zhou Jianfeng Feng Yan Han | 2023 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2023,8,2: | 2

Process of Analyzing Pig Inbreeding Coefficient Using SAS Program显示文摘The paternity index is one of the important parameters which paternity determination depends on.Inbreeding is an indispensable and effective means to improve herds and breeds and breed new strains and breeds. It can fix good traits and improve herd genetic uniformity. The INBREED module of SAS statistical analysis software can be used to calculate the inbreeding coefficients of the offspring and their parents in the pig herd pedigree. In this study,we used actual data as an example to compile and operate an SAS program for calculating the inbreeding coefficients of a pig herd.Compared with the dedicated software for calculating inbreeding coefficients developed in recent years, such as BASIC+database dBASE,Visual Basic+database SQ L Serve method,DFREMLI,MTDF EMLI,VCE,ASREML,DMU,GBS and Herdsman, calculating inbreeding coefficients with SAS programs has the advantages of low cost, simple programming language, and easy operation. For livestock breeders who are not provided with special computing software, the use of SAS to calculate the inbreeding coefficients of pigs is of great significance to planned breed selection and assortative mating. | Xuelin FU Junyong HU Yajing CHEN Tingting WU Wanghong LIU | 2021 | Agricultural Biotechnology2021,10,3: | 1
Effect of reduced energy density of close-up diets on dry matter intake, lactation performance and energy balance in multiparous Holstein cows显示文摘Energy intake prepartum is critically important to health, milk performance, and profitability of dairy cows. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of reduced energy density of close-up diets on dry matter intake(DMI),lactation performance and energy balance(EB) in multiparous Holstein cows which were housed in a free-stall bam and fed for ad libitum intake.Thirty-nine dry cows were blocked and assigned randomly to three groups fed a high energy density diet[HD,n = 13;6.8 MJ of net energy for lactation(NE_L)/kg;14.0%crude protein(CP)],or a middle energy density diet(MD,n = 13;6.2 MJ NE_L/kg;14.0%CP),or a low energy density diet(LD,n = 13;5.4 MJ NE_L/kg;14.0%CP) from d 21 before expected day of calving. After parturition, all cows were fed the same lactation diet to d 70 in milk(DIM).The DMI and NE_L intake prepartum were decreased by the reduced energy density diets(P< 0.05).The LD group consumed 1.3 kg/d(DM) more diet compared with HD group in the last 24 h before calving. The milk yield and the postpartum DMI were increased by the reduced energy density diet prepartum(P< 0.05).The changes in BCS and BW prepartum and postpartum were not affected by prepartum diets.HD group had higher milk fat content and lower lactose content compared with LD group during the first 3 wk of lactation(P< 0.05).The energy consumption for HD,MD and LD groups were 149.8%,126.2%and 101.1%of their calculated energy requirements prepartum(P< 0.05),and 72.7%,73.1%and 75.2%during the first 4 wk postpartum, respectively. In conclusion, the low energy density prepartum diet was effective in controlling NE_L intake prepartum, and was beneficial in increasing DMI and milk yield, and alleviating negative EB postpartum. | Wenming Huang Yujia Tian Yajing Wang Aminamu Simayi Amingguli Yasheng Zhaohai Wu Shengli Li Zhijun Cao | 2015 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2015,6,1: | 1
