1Organochlorine compounds and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in surface sediment from Baiyangdian Lake,North China:Concentrations,sources profiles and potential risk显示文摘Organochlorine pesticides(OCPs),polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs),and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) were determined in nineteen surface sediment samples collected from Baiyangdian Lake and its inflowing river(Fuhe River) in North China.Total concentrations of OCPs,PCBs and PAHs in sediments ranged from 5.4 to 707.6 ng/g,2.3 to 197.8 ng/g,and 101.3 to 6360.5 ng/g,respectively.The levels of contaminants in Fuhe River were significantly higher than those in Baiyandian Lake.For hexachlorocyclohexane(HCHs) and dichlorodiphenytrichloroethanes(DDTs),α-HCH and p,p-DDT were predominant isomers;while for PCBs,PCB 28/31,PCB 40/103,PCB 60,PCB 101,and PCB 118 were predominant congeners.Possible sources derived from historical usage for OCPs and incomplete combustion fuel,wood,and coal and exhaustion of boats or cars for PAHs.Risk assessment of sediment indicated that sediments in Fuhe River were likely to pose potential biological adverse impact.Guocheng Hu Xiaojun Luo Fengchao Li Jiayin Dai Jianyang Guo Shejun Chen Cao Hong Bixian Mai Muqi Xu 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,2:42
2Distribution of polybrominated diphenyl ethers and decabromodiphenylethane in surface sediments from Fuhe River and Baiyangdian Lake,North China显示文摘Nineteen surface sediment samples collected from Baiyangdian Lake and its inflowing river (Fuhe River) in North China were analyzed for polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and decabromodiphenylethane (DBDPE).The concentrations of PBDEs and DBDPE in sediments ranged from 5.5 to 300.7 ng/g dry weight (dw) and 1.1 to 68.2 ng/g dw,respectively.Their levels in sediments in Fuhe River were significantly higher than those in Baiyandian Lake.Compared to data from other regions,the PBDE levels in surface sediments from Baiyangdian Lake and Fuhe River were in the medium to lower range.Among the PBDE congeners,BDE209 was predominant,with contributions to the total PBDEs ranging from 79.4% to 97.3% in sediment samples.For the lowly brominated congeners (tri-to hepta-BDE),BDE47 and BDE99 were the most abundant,which contributed 52.1% and 44.1% to the sum of tri-to hepta-BDEs in the sediments from Baiyangdian Lake and Fuhe River,respectively.The compositional patterns of PBDEs in Baiyangdian Lake sediments indicated that technical deca-BDE mixture was the major pollutant sources with a minor contribution of penta-BDE mixture.The present study suggested that the importance of Fuhe River as a possibly potential sources of PBDEs contamination in Baiyangdian Lake.Guocheng Hu Zhencheng Xu Jiayin Dai Bixian Mai Hong Cao Jianshe Wang Zhimin Shi Muqi Xu 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,12:18
3Microbial and molecular fossils from the Permian Zoophycos in South China显示文摘The trace fossil Zoophycos was enriched in the lower part of the Guadalupian Maokou Formation of Permian in Laibin, Guangxi of South China, and characterized by observable lamellae within its spreiten. Associated with these lamellae are the prolific coccus- and spirillum-shaped microbe fossils. These microbes morphologically identified are 0.4―3.0 μm in diameter or length. Molecular fossils, including normal alkanes (dominated by C18, without an odd-over-even predominance), acyclic isoprenoids (such as pristane (Pr) and phytane (Ph)), extended tricyclic terpanes, pentacyclic triterpanes, steranes, al-kylcyclohexanes, dibenzothiophenes, benzonaphthothiophenes, benzobisbenzothiophenes, were in-strumentally identified in the wackestone characterized by the occurrence of abundant Zoophycos (composite ichnofabric indices are 4) and crowded microbial fossils. The value of the Pr/Ph ratio is less than 1, indicative of a dysoxic condition. The identification of abundant sulfur compounds (the thio-phene series) related to the contribution of reductive sulfur favors the occurrence of sulphate-reducing bacteria. The association of abundant microbial colonies with microbial molecular fossils within the spreiten suggests that trace fossils Zoophycos would be a multifunctional garden carefully constructed by the Zoophycos-producer, where different microbial colonies were orderly and carefully planted and cultured in different minor lamellae within spreiten. 4Strontium modulates osteogenic activity of bone cement composed of bioactive borosilicate glass particles by activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway显示文摘There is a need for synthetic grafts to reconstruct large bone defects using minimal invasive surgery.Our previous study showed that incorporation of Sr into bioactive borate glass cement enhanced the osteogenic capacity in vivo.However,the amount of Sr in the cement to provide an optimal combination of physicochemical properties and capacity to stimulate bone regeneration and the underlying molecular mechanism of this stimulation is yet to be determined.In this study,bone cements composed of bioactive borosilicate glass particles substituted with varying amounts of Sr(0 mol%to 12 mol%SrO)were created and evaluated in vitro and in vivo.The setting time of the cement increased with Sr substitution of the glass.Upon immersion in PBS,the cement degraded and converted more slowly to HA(hydroxyapatite)with increasing Sr substitution.The released Sr2+modulated the proliferation,differentiation,and mineralization of hBMSCs(human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells)in vitro.Osteogenic characteristics were optimally enhanced with cement(designated BG6Sr)composed of particles substituted with 6mol%SrO.When implanted in rabbit femoral condyle defects,BG6Sr cement supported better peri-implant bone formation and bone-implant contact,comparing to cements substituted with 0mol%or 9mol%SrO.The underlying mechanism is involved in the activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in osteogenic differentiation of hBMSCs.These results indicate that BG6Sr cement has a promising combination of physicochemical properties and biological performance for minimally invasive healing of bone defects.Xu Cui Yadong Zhang Jianyun Wang Chengcheng Huang Yudong Wang Hongsheng Yang Wenlong Liu Ting Wang Deping Wang Guocheng Wang Changshun Ruan Dafu Chen William W.Lu Wenhai Huang Mohamed N.Rahaman Haobo Pan 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,2:3
5Frequency-domain diagonal extension imaging显示文摘The pixel size of a charge-coupled device(CCD)camera plays a major role in the image resolution,and the square pixels are attributed to the physical anisotropy of the sampling frequency.We synthesize the high sampling frequency directions from multiple frames acquired with different angles to enhance the resolution by 1.4×over conventional CCD orthogonal sampling.To directly demonstrate the improvement of frequency-domain diagonal extension(FDDE)microscopy,lens-free microscopy is used,as its resolution is dominantly determined by the pixel size.We demonstrate the resolution enhancement with a mouse skin histological specimen and a clinical blood smear sample.Further,FDDE is extended to lens-based photography with an ISO 12233 resolution target.This method paves a new way for enhancing the image resolution for a variety of imaging techniques in which the resolution is primarily limited by the sampling pixel size,for example,microscopy,photography,and spectroscopy.Shan Jiang Meiling Guan Jiamin Wu Guocheng Fang Xinzhu Xu Dayong Jin Zhen Liu Kebin Shi Fan Bai Shu Wang Peng Xi 2020Advanced Photonics2020,2,3:3
6Rapid Creation of New Photoperiod-/Thermo-Sensitive Genic Male-Sterile Rice Materials by CRISPR/Cas9 System显示文摘Rice is an important food crop in China, and the development of hybrid rice is a crucial way to increase grain yield. The creation of dual-purpose nuclear-sterile lines for two-line hybrid breeding has become vital for commercial rice breeding. We constructed the pC1300-2 x35 S::Cas9-sgRNA^(PTGMS2-1) expression vector for editing the male fertility gene PTGMS2-1 in two widely compatible rice varieties, 93-11 and Huazhan, by using the CRISPR/Cas9 system. We obtained the marker-free photoperiod-/thermo-sensitive genic male-sterile(P/TGMS) lines in T_1 generation. According to the experiments in phytotron with four temperature and photoperiod treatments, we found the temperature is the main factor for restoring the pollen fertility of ptgms2-1 mutants in 93-11 and Huazhan, and the photoperiod also has some effects on pollen fertility in two different rice backgrounds. 7Ultrasonic C-scan Detection for Stainless Steel Spot Welding Based on Wavelet Package Analysis显示文摘An ultrasonic test of spot welding for stainless steel is conducted. Based on wavelet packet decomposition, the ultrasonic echo signal has been analyzed deeply in time- frequency domain, which can easily distinguish the nugget from the corona bond. The 2D C-scan images produced by ultrasonic C scan which contribute to quantitatively calculate the nugget diameter for the computer are further analyzed. The spot welding nugget diameter can be automatically obtained by image enhancement, edge detection and equivalent diameter algorithm procedure. The ultrasonic detection values in this paper show good agreement with the metallographic measured values. The mean value of normal distribution curve is 0.006 67, and the standard deviation is 0.087 11. 8Late Glacial glacier-climate modeling in two valleys on the eastern slope of Samdainkangsang Peak, Nyaiqentanggulha Mountains显示文摘Well-preserved Late Glacial moraines in the Barenduo and Yuqiongqu valleys on the eastern slope of the Samdainkangsang Peak present an opportunity to reconstruct glacier extents and examine the character of the climate during the Late Glacial stage in the Nyaiqentanggulha Mountains.This study employs a coupled mass-balance and ice-flow model to reconstruct the glacier extents in the two valleys and assess the magnitudes of temperature and precipitation change during the Late Glacial period.Model results indicate that during the Late Glacial,the Barenduo valley contained an ice volume of 1.67×10~8m^3,with the equilibrium-line altitude(ELA)being^5500 m asl;and the Yuqiongqu valley had an ice volume of 5.56×10~8 m^3,with the ELA being^5470 m asl.A climate scenario,temperature depression of 2.6-2.8℃and 60-70%,percent of modern(1981-2010)precipitation,can sustain both of the Late Glacial glacier extents in the two valleys.A 50%increase or decrease from modern precipitation would have been coupled with the respective Late Glacial temperature depressions of 1.6 and 3.0℃in the Barenduo valley,and 2.1 and 2.8℃in the Yuqiongqu valley.XU XiangKe DONG GuoCheng PAN BaoLin HU Gang BI WeiLi LIU JinHua YI ChaoLu 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,1:3
9A Multifunctional {P_(2)Mo_(5)}-based Hybrid Applying to Catalysis, Electrocatalysis and Dye Adsorption显示文摘As a common environmental pollutant, thioether can cause serious environmental pollution, so selective oxidation of thioether has become one of the current research hotspots. In this paper, an inorganic-organic hybrid based on a Standberg-type polyoxometalate, [Hbiz]_(5)[HP_(2)Mo_(5)O_(23)]·5H_(2)O(1)(biz=benzimidazole), was obtained by adjusting pH under hydrothermal conditions. The structure was characterized by infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 can be used as an excellent catalyst for the oxidation of thioanisole. The experimental results showed that thioanisole could be catalytically oxidized to methyl phenyl sulfoxide by compound 1 as a catalyst within 40 min. The conversion rate and selectivity reached 99%. Compound 1 had good cycling stability as a heterogeneous catalyst. In addition, the electrocatalytic reduction of H_(2)O_(2) and Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2−) for hybrid 1 was preliminarily investigated. 10Degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride by ultrafine TiO_(2) nanoparticles modified g-C_(3)N_(4) heterojunction photocatalyst:Influencing factors,products and mechanism insight显示文摘The unique heterojunction photocatalyst of graphite carbon nitride (g-C_(3)N_(4)) modified ultrafine TiO_(2) (g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2)) was successfully fabricated by electrochemical etching and co-annealing method. However, the effects of various environmental factors on the degradation of TC by g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) and the internal reaction mechanism are still unclear. In this study, the effects of initial pH, anions, and cations on the photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) by g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) were systematically explored, and the scavenging experiment and intermediate detection were conducted to better reveal the mechanism on photocatalytic degradation of TC. The results showed that the removal efficiency of photocatalytic degradation of TC by g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) could reach 99.04% under Xenon lamp irradiation within 120 min. The unique g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) heterojunction photocatalyst showed excellent photocatalytic performance for the degradation of TC at pH 3~7, and possesses outstanding anti-interference ability to NO_(3)^(-), Cl^(-), Na^(+), Ca^(2+) and Mg^(2+) ions in natural waters during the photocatalytic degradation TC process. Superoxide radicals (O_(2)^(·-)) and hydroxyl radicals (^(·)OH) were proved as the main reactive species for TC degradation, and the possible mechanism of the unique photocatalytic system for g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) was also proposed. 14Natural flavonoid luteolin promotes the differentiation of porcine myoblasts through activation of PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling显示文摘A key step in the manufacturing of cultured meat is to produce myotubes by induced myogenic differentiation.The development of effective,low-cost,and food-safe components that promote the in vitro differentiation of myoblasts is essential for the industrialization of cultured meat.Flavonoids are a class of plant secondary metabolites with various biological activities,but their effects on the regulation of myoblast behaviors are a lack of study.In this study,we selected four representative flavonoids including luteolin,chrysin,apigenin,and genistein,and investigated their effects on porcine myoblasts in the aspects of proliferation,migration,and differentiation.The results showed that four flavonoids all had relatively low cell toxicity but weak ability to promote the proliferation of porcine myoblasts.A positive effect of luteolin was observed in the migration and differentiation of porcine myoblasts,as indicated by improved migration rate and fusion index,as well as upregulated expression of Myogenin and MyHC.Pharmacological inhibition of PI3K activity attenuated the efficacy of luteolin on porcine myoblasts,and further analysis showed that luteolin increased the phosphorylation of PI3K,Akt,and mTOR,indicating the activation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.In conclusion,these findings showed that luteolin promoted the migration and differentiation of porcine myoblast via the activation of PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling,providing biological evidence for its application in cultured meat production.Xin Guan Zihe Pan Zhuoya Xu Sidun Zhang Haohao Tang Guocheng Du Jingwen Zhou 2022Food Bioscience2022,47,3:1

20Optimization of Organic Mulches Thickness Improves Soil Moisture Retention under Controlled Conditions显示文摘Organic mulch can improve the moisture,chemical composition,dust,and dust suppression of soil,and beautify the environment.In view of the rapid evaporation rate and serious loss of soil water in tropical areas,this paper explored the effect of organic mulch materials with different thickness on the increase of soil water retention rate and the improvement of soil water loss caused by evaporation.Rubberwood sawdust(RWS),rubberwood bark(RWB),coconut fiber(CF),and Mulch(MC)were selected as the mulching materials.Field experiment and laboratory experiment were performed,and soil-moisture content and temperature were continuously monitored.However,from the daily measurement of water content at constant conditions(29℃±0.2℃,74%±1%air RH)in the laboratory experiment,the results of variance analysis(ANOVA)showed that there was no significant difference between the soil-water content of covered samples and bare soil(P>0.05).In the field experiments,the analysis of variance indicated significant differences in the soil-moisture content owing to the effect of the covering material(P<0.01).Mulching increased the soil-moisture content with smaller fluctuations in the deep soil compared with bare soil.The most stable soil-moisture content were achieved by RWS,RWB,CF,and MC,with thicknesses of 5,3,7,and 5 cm,respectively,compared with bare soil,and the average water contents of the 0-40 cm soil layer was 0.58%,0.01%,0.82%,and 0.93%,respectively.Vertically,the intensity of the change in soil moisture decreased gradually with increasing depth,and was more stable than that of bare soil and other treatments.Among them,the difference in water content between the adjacent gradient soil layers(the soil layers are graded every 10 cm in depth)M_(3-7)(0.011±0.004)was the smallest.It can be concluded that CF mulching materials with a thickness of 7 cm would be preferable when selecting mulching materials for controlling soil moisture in tropical cities.Jiayi Zhang Guohua Fu Zhiyang Jin Lihang Chi Guocheng Xu Daran Yue 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,4:0
