| 1 | Transplantation of UC-MSCs on collagen scaffold activates follicles in dormant ovaries of POF patients with long history of infertility显示文摘Premature ovarian failure(POF) is a refractory disease for clinical treatment with the goal of restoring fertility. In this study,umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells on a collagen scaffold(collagen/UC-MSCs) can activate primordial follicles in vitro via phosphorylation of FOXO3 a and FOXO1. Transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs to the ovaries of POF patients rescued overall ovarian function, evidenced by elevated estradiol concentrations, improved follicular development, and increased number of antral follicles. Successful clinical pregnancy was achieved in women with POF after transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs or UC-MSCs. | 4 | Inverse Optimal Control for Speed-varying Path Following of Marine Vessels with Actuator Dynamics显示文摘A controller which is locally optimal near the origin and globally inverse optimal for the nonlinear system is proposed for path following of over actuated marine crafts with actuator dynamics. The motivation is the existence of undesired signals sent to the actuators, which can result in bad behavior in path following. To attenuate the oscillation of the control signal and obtain smooth thrust outputs, the actuator dynamics are added into the ship maneuvering model. Instead of modifying the Line-of-Sight (LOS) guidance law, this proposed controller can easily adjust the vessel speed to minimize the large cross-track error caused by the high vessel speed when it is turning. | 5 | Updating preconditioner for iterative method in time domain simulation of power systems显示文摘The numerical solution of the differential-algebraic equations(DAEs) involved in time domain simulation(TDS) of power systems requires the solution of a sequence of large scale and sparse linear systems.The use of iterative methods such as the Krylov subspace method is imperative for the solution of these large and sparse linear systems.The motivation of the present work is to develop a new algorithm to efficiently precondition the whole sequence of linear systems involved in TDS.As an improvement of dishonest preconditioner(DP) strategy,updating preconditioner strategy(UP) is introduced to the field of TDS for the first time.The idea of updating preconditioner strategy is based on the fact that the matrices in sequence of the linearized systems are continuous and there is only a slight difference between two consecutive matrices.In order to make the linear system sequence in TDS suitable for UP strategy,a matrix transformation is applied to form a new linear sequence with a good shape for preconditioner updating.The algorithm proposed in this paper has been tested with 4 cases from real-life power systems in China.Results show that the proposed UP algorithm efficiently preconditions the sequence of linear systems and reduces 9%-61% the iteration count of the GMRES when compared with the DP method in all test cases.Numerical experiments also show the effectiveness of UP when combined with simple preconditioner reconstruction strategies. | WANG Ke XUE Wei LIN HaiXiang XU ShiMing ZHENG WeiMin | 2011 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,4: | 3 |
| 6 | Tool wear during high speed turning in situ TiC_p/TiB_w hybrid reinforced Ti-6Al-4V matrix composite显示文摘Chipping, adhesive wear, abrasive wear and crater wear are prevalent for both the polycrystalline diamond(PCD) and the carbide tools during high speed turning of TiC_p/TiB_w hybrid reinforced Ti-6Al-4V(TC4) matrix composite(TMCs). The combined effects of abrasive wear and diffusion wear caused the big crater on PCD and carbide tool rake face. Compared to the PCD, bigger size of crater was found on the carbide tool due to much higher cutting temperature and the violent chemical reaction between the Ti element in the workpiece and the WC in the tool.However, the marks of the abrasive wear looked much slighter or even could not be observed on the carbide tool especially when low levels of cutting parameters were used, which attributes to much lower hardness and smaller size of WC combined with more significant chemical degradation of carbide. When cutting TC4 using PCD tool, notch wear was the most significant wear pattern which was not found when cutting the TMCs. However, chipping, adhesive wear and crater wear were much milder when compared to the cutting of titanium matrix composite. | 11 | Experimental Wave Attenuation Study over Flexible Plants on a Submerged Slope显示文摘Using plants is a kind of environmentally-friendly coastal protection to attenuate wave energy. In this paper, a set of experiments were conducted to investigate the wave attenuation performance using flexible grasses on a submerged slope, and the wave attenuation coefficient for these experiments was calculated for different still water depths, slope and grass configurations. It was found that the slope plays a significant role in wave attenuation. The wave attenuation coefficient increases with increasing relative row number and relative density. For a small relative row number, the two configurations from the slope top to its toe and from the slope toe to its top performed equally to a large extent. For a medium relative row number, the configuration from the slope toe to its top performed more poorly than that from the slope top to its toe; however, it performed better than that from the slope top to its toe for a high relative row number. With a single row of grasses close to the slope top from the slope toe, the wave attenuation coefficient shows double peaks. With increasing grass rows or still water depth, the grass location corresponding to the maximum wave attenuation coefficient is close to the slope top. | 14 | Milling Machinability of TiC Particle and TiB Whisker Hybrid Reinforced Titanium Matrix Composites显示文摘The milling machinabilities of titanium matrix composites were comprehensively evaluated to provide a theoretical basis for cutting parameter determination.Polycrystalline diamond(PCD)tools with different grain sizes and geometries,and carbide tools with and without coatings were used in the experiments.Milling forces,milling temperatures,tool lifetimes,tool wear,and machined surface integrities were investigated.The PCD tool required a primary cutting force 15%smaller than that of the carbide tool,while the uncoated carbide tool required a primary cutting force 10% higher than that of the TiAlN-coated tool.A cutting force of 300 Nper millimeter of the cutting edge(300N/mm)was measured.This caused excessive tool chipping.The cutting temperature of the PCD tool was 20%—30%lower than that of the carbide tool,while that of the TiAlN-coated tool was 12%lower than that of the uncoated carbide tool.The cutting temperatures produced when using water-based cooling and minimal quantity lubrication(MQL)were reduced by 100°C and 200°C,compared with those recorded with dry cutting,respectively.In general,the PCD tool lifetimes were 2—3 times longer than the carbide tool lifetimes.The roughness Raof the machined surface was less than 0.6μm,and the depth of the machined surface hardened layer was in the range of 0.15—0.25 mm for all of the PCD tools before a flank wear land of 0.2mm was reached.The PCD tool with a 0.8mm tool nose radius,0°rake angle,10°flank angle,and grain size of(30+2)μm exhibited the best cutting performance.For this specific tool,a lifetime of 16 min can be expected. | Huan Haixiang Xu Jiuhua Su Honghua Ge Yingfei Liang Xinghui | 2017 | Transactions of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics2017,34,4: | 1 |

| 19 | Structural Strength Analysis of a Tri-Floater Floating Foundation for Offshore VAWT显示文摘Vertical axis wind turbines(VAWTs) are advantageous for the development of large-scale offshore wind power because the drive system is located at the bottom of the turbine. This study investigates the structural strength of a tri-floater floating foundation supporting a 2.6 MW Darrieus VAWT. Finite element models of the floating foundation were developed using space plate-beam elements. The environmental loads, such as the aerodynamic loads, static wind loads, and wave-current loads, were considered. The general strengths of the floating foundation were calculated for the normal operating case(a cut-out wind speed of 25 m s^(-1) and blade rotation of 12 r min^(-1) were used to analyze the most unfavorable loads) and an extreme case(wind speed of 40 m s^(-1) and parked blades), and the weak components of the structure were analyzed. The results show that the floating foundation meets the strength requirements and the structural stress is highest when the wave, wind, and current are in a collinear direction. The main and secondary supporting bars transmit the loads between the stand columns and the tower foundation, and their stresses are higher than those in the other components. In the actual design, these supporting bars should be strengthened.
