| 1 | Distribution,fluxes and decadal changes of nutrients in the Jiulong River Estuary,Southwest Taiwan Strait显示文摘The Jiulong River Estuary (JRE) is a typical subtropical macro-tide estuary on the southwest coast of the Taiwan Strait (TWS),which has been greatly impacted by human activities over the past 30 years.To understand nutrient dynamics and fluxes under such a heavy background of anthropogenic perturbation,eight cruises were conducted from April 2008 to April 2011,covering both wet (May to September) and dry (October to April next year) seasons.Nutrient concentrations were very high for the freshwater end-member in the upper reach of the JRE (nitrate (NO 3-N):120-230 mol L-1 ;nitrite (NO 2-N):5-15 mol L-1 ;ammonium (NH 4-N):15-170 mol L-1 ;soluble reactive phosphorus (SRP):1.2-3.5 mol L-1 ;dissolved silicate (DSi):200-340 mol L-1).In dry seasons,concentrations of these nutrients were higher than in wet seasons.Nitrate was the dominant chemical species of dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN),with percentages of 67%-96% in wet seasons and 55%-72% in dry seasons.Distributions of NO 3-N and DSi against salinity were nearly constant during all cruises,and showed generally conservative mixing behaviors in the estuary (1 | YAN XiuLi ZHAI WeiDong HONG HuaSheng LI Yan GUO WeiDong HUANG Xiao | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,18: | 16 |

Due to their unique 'intelligent' characteristics, stimuli-sensitive polymers have found a wide variety of applications in biomedical and nanotechnological fields. This review focuses on the recent developments in biomedical application of intelligent polymer systems, such as intelligent hydrogel systems, intelligent drug delivery systems and intelligent molecular recognition systems. | 4 | Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). | 5 | Dynamic changes of phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate levels modulate H^(+)-ATPase and Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter activities to maintain ion homeostasis in Arabidopsis under salt stress显示文摘Plant metabolites are dynamically modified and distributed in response to environmental changes.How-ever,it is poorly understood how metabolic change functions in plant stress responses.Maintaining ion ho-meostasis under salt stress requires coordinated activation of two types of central regulators:plasma membrane(PM)H^(+)-ATPase and Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter.In this study,we used a bioassay-guided isolation approach to identify endogenous small molecules that affect PM H^(+)-ATPase and Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter activities and identified phosphatidylinositol(PI),which inhibits PM H^(+)-ATPase activity under non-stress conditions in Arabidopsis by directly binding to the C terminus of the PM H^(+)-ATPase AHA2.Under salt stress,the phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate-to-phosphatidylinositol(PI4P-to-PI)ratio increased,and PI4P bound and activated the PM Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter.PI prefers binding to the inactive form of PM H^(+)-ATPase,while PI4P tends to bind to the active form of the Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter.Consistent with this,pis1 mutants,with reduced levels of PI,displayed increased PM H^(+)-ATPase activity and salt stress toler-ance,while the pi4kβ1 mutant,with reduced levels of PI4P,displayed reduced PM Na^(+)/H^(+) antiporter activity and salt stress tolerance.Collectively,our results reveal that the dynamic change between PI and PI4P in response to salt stress in Arabidopsis is crucial for maintaining ion homeostasis to protect plants from un-favorable environmental conditions. | Yongqing Yang Xiuli Han Liang Ma Yujiao Wu Xiao Liu Haiqi Fu Guoyong Liu Xiaoguang Lei Yan Guo | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,12: | 4 |
| 6 | Co-delivery of doxorubicin and paclitaxel with linear-dendritic block copolymer for enhanced anti-cancer efficacy显示文摘A series of well-defined amphiphilic linear-dendritic block copolymers(telodendrimers, MPEG-b-PAMAM-cholesterol) with 1,2,4 or 8 cholesteryl groups(named as P1, P2, P4, P8, respectively) were synthesized. Their chemical structures were characterized with 1H NMR and mass spectrum(MALDI-TOF MS). The telodendrimers could self-assemble into micelles in aqueous solution, and encapsulate chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin(DOX) and paclitaxel(PTX) for combination therapy. All the telodendrimers could encapsulate DOX with similar capability. However, their drug-loading capability of PTX is increased with the increasing number of cholesteryl groups. P8 exhibited much higher PTX loading efficiency than its counterparts. Thus, P8 was selected for further application of drug delivery in the paper. The drug-loading micellar nanoparticles(NPs) of P8 were spherical in shape and their diameters were less than 150 nm which were determined by dynamic light scattering measurements(DLS) and transmission electron microscope(TEM). In vitro drug release experiment demonstrated that P8 exhibited a controlled release manner for both DOX and PTX, and the two drugs were released simultaneously. In vitro cytotoxicity experiment further demonstrated that the co-delivery of DOX and PTX in P8 exhibited better anti-cancer efficiency than the delivery systems encapsulated with single drug(DOX or PTX). This indicates a synergistic effect. | 8 | Study on the Marine Sedimentary Environment Evolution of the Southern Laizhou Bay Under the Impact of Port Projects显示文摘The southern Laizhou Bay is mainly composed of silt-sandy coasts with diverse landforms, and its marine hydrodynamic environment is sensitive to human activities. Marine hydrodynamic and sedimentary environments of the study area have changed under the influence of large-scale port projects in recent years. In this paper, the evolution of hydrodynamic environment, deposition rate, and geochemical characteristics were studied based on sediment grain size, element analysis and ^(210)Pb dating of two cores, in order to analyze the influence of Weifang Port on marine environmental evolution, and provide theoretical and practical basis for protecting marine environment in developing marine resources reasonably. Results showed that sediments of the two cores were relatively coarser and mainly composed of silty sand. Sediments above 230 cm in core WF1 and 218 cm in core WF2 were deposited since 1855 when the Yellow River appeared to deposit its sediments within the modern active delta, and the average deposition rate was between 0.3 and 0.5 cm a^(-1). Implement of Weifang Port projects in 1997 and 2007 created great influence on the sedimentary environment evolution in the surrounding waters, and the deposition rate was significantly increased. The average annual deposition rates were 5.1 cm and 3.5 cm in WF1 and WF2 respectively between 1997 and 2007. | 9 | Change in Sediment Provenance Near the Current Estuary of Yellow River Since the Holocene Transgression显示文摘Sedimentary sequence and sediment provenance are important factors when it comes to the studies on marine sedimentation. This paper studies grain size distribution, lithological characteristics, major and rare earth elemental compositions, micropaleontological features and ^(14)C ages in order to examine sedimentary sequence and sediment provenance of the core BH6 drilled at the mouth of the Yellow River in Bohai Sea. According to the grain size and the micropaleontological compositions, 4 sedimentary units have been identified. Unit 1(0–8.08 mbsf) is of the delta sedimentary facies, Unit 2(8.08–12.08 mbsf) is of the neritic shelf facies, Unit 3(12.08–23.85 mbsf) is of near-estuary beach-tidal facies, and Unit 4(23.85 mbsf–) is of the continental lake facies. The deposits from Unit 1 to Unit 3 have been found to be marine strata formed after the Holocene transgression at about 10 ka BP, while Unit 4 is continental lacustrine deposit formed before 10 ka BP. The provenances of core BH6 sediments show properties of the continental crust and vary in different sedimentary periods. For Unit 4 sediments, the source regions are dispersed while the main provenance is not clear, although the parent rock characteristics of a few samples are similar to the Luanhe River sediments. For Unit 3, sediments at 21.1–23.85 mbsf have been mainly transported from the Liaohe River, while sediments above 21.1 mbsf are mainly from the Yellow River and partially from the Liaohe River. For Unit 2, the sediments have been mainly transported from the Yellow River, with a small amount from other rivers. For Unit 1, the provenance is mainly the Yellow River catchment. | 10 | Histological evaluation in ulcerative colitis显示文摘This review summarizes diagnostic problems,challenges and advances in ulcerative colitis(UC).It emphasizes that,although histopathological examination plays a major role in the diagnosis and management of UC,it should always be interpreted in the context of clinical,endoscopic,and radiological findings.Accurate diagnosis requires knowledge of the classic morphological features of UC,as well as a number of atypical pathological presentations that may cause mis-classification of the disease process,either in resection or biopsy specimens.These atypical pathological presentations include rectal sparing and patchiness of disease at initial presentation of UC in pediatric patients or in the setting of medically treated UC,cecal or ascending colon inflammation in left-sided UC,and backwash ileitis in patients with severe ulcerative pancolitis.Loosely formed microgranulomas,with pale foamy histiocytes adjacent to a damaged crypt or eroded surface,should not be interpreted as evidence of Crohn’s disease.Indeterminate colitis should only be used in colectomy specimens as a provisional pathological diagnosis.Patients with UC are at risk for the development of dysplasia and carcinoma;optimal outcomes in UC surveillance programs require familiarity with the diagnostic criteria and challenges relating to UC-associated dysplasia and malignancy.Colon biopsy from UC patients should always be evaluated for dysplasia based on cytological and architectural abnormalities.Accurate interpretation and classification of dysplasia in colon biopsy from UC patients as sporadic adenoma or UC-related dysplasia[flat,adenoma-like,or dysplasia-associated lesion or mass(DALM)]requires clinical and endoscopic correlation.Isolated polypoid dysplastic lesions are considered to be sporadic adenoma if occurring outside areas of histologically proven colitis,or adenoma-like dysplasia if occurring in the diseased segment.Recent data suggest that such lesions may be treated adequately by polypectomy in the absence of flat dysplasia in the patient.UC patients with DALM or flat high-grade dysplasia should be treated by colectomy because of the high probability of adenocarcinoma.The natural history of low-grade dysplasia(LGD)is more controversial:while multifocal LGD,particularly if detected at the time of initial endoscopic examination,is treated with colectomy,unifocal flat LGD detected during surveillance may be managed by close follow-up with increased surveillance.The surveillance interval and treatment options for UC patients with dysplasia are reviewed in detail. | Tom C.DeRoche Shu-Yuan Xiao Xiuli Liu | 2014 | Gastroenterology Report2014,2,3: | 3 |

| 15 | Inversion and Prediction of Consolidation Settlement Characteristics of the Fluvial Sediments Based on Void Ratio Variation in the Northern Modern Yellow River Subaqueous Delta, China显示文摘The modern Yellow River delta is formed near the estuary of the Yellow River with the characteristics of short formation time, efficient sedimentation rate and loose structure which make sediments prone to be compacted and consolidate under the geostatic stress and overburden stress. It is one of the key areas with land subsidence disasters in China, bringing a series of safety hazards to production and living. Based on the data of massive surface cores and ten drill holes ranging from 12 to 40 m obtained from the northern modern Yellow River subaqueous delta, the inversion method suitable for the calculation of consolidation settlement characteristics of the modern Yellow River subaqueous delta is discussed, and the consolidation settlement characteristics of the delta sediments are inversed and predicted in this paper. The actual void ratio of the delta sediments at the depth from 3 to 15 m shows a significant power function relationship with the depth, while the void ratio of the sediments below 15 m changes little with depth. The pre-consolidation settlement(from deposition to sampling) of the delta sediments is between 0.91 and 1.96 m, while the consolidation settlement of unit depth is between 9.6 and 14.0 cm m^(-1). The post-consolidation settlement(from sampling to stable) of the subaqueous delta sediments is between 0.65 and 1.56 m in the later stage, and the consolidation settlement of unit depth is between 7.6 and 13.1 cm m^(-1) under the overburden stress. | 20 | Synthesis of mesoporous core-shell structured GdPO:Eu@SiO@mSiO nanorods for drug delivery and cell imaging applications显示文摘Mesoporous GdPO4:Eu@SiO2@mSiO2 core-shell nanorods(NRs) were prepared by a facile two-step method.First,the monodispersed GdPO4:Eu NRs were obtained on a large scale via a facile precipitation method,then mesoporous silica was wrapped onto their surface through hydrolysis of tetraethylorthosilicate(TEOS).The XRD result indicates that the as-prepared GdPO4:Eu NRs core has hexagonal phase.The FTIR and the N2 adsorption/desorption isotherm analysis confirm the successful coating of mesoporous silica.The TEM images show that the obtained GdPO4:Eu@SiO2@mSiO2 NRs exhibit uniform monodisperse core-shell structure with a nanorod core(length of 200 nm;width of 20 nm),and mesoporous silica shell of 15 nm.Under excitation of 274 nm,GdPO4:Eu@SiO2@mSiO2 NRs show strong red luminescence from 5 D0→7 FJ(J=1,2,3 and 4) transitions of Eu3+.Furthermore,the GdPO4:Eu@-SiO2@mSiO2 NRs exhibit obvious T1 enhancement effect due to paramagnetism of Gd3+.The drug loading capacity and pH-sensitive releasing behavior of the as-prepared GdPO4:Eu@SiO2@mSiO2 NRs were studied by using doxorubicin(DOX) as model drug.The excellent biocompatibility of GdPO4:Eu@-SiO2@mSiO2 NRs was demonstrated by MTT assay.Taken together,the mesoporous GdPO4:Eu@-SiO2@mSiO2 NRs may be potentially applied in fields of drug delivery and dual-modal imaging. | Yanli Wu Xianzhu Xu Xiuli You Qiang Xiao | 2020 | Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,10: | 1 |
