| 3 | Analysis and construction status of SG-Ⅱ 5PW laser facility显示文摘We present a recent progress of the SG-II 5 PW facility, which designed a multi-petawatt ultrashort pulse laser based on optical parametric chirped-pulse amplification(OPCPA). The prior two optical parametric amplifiers have been accomplished and chirped pulses with an energy of 49.7 J and a full-width-at-half-maximum(FWHM) spectrum bandwidth of 85 nm have been achieved. In the PW-scale optical parametric amplification(OPA), with the pump pulse that has an energy of 118 J from the second harmonic generation of the SG-II 7 th beam, the pump-to-signal conversion efficiency is up to 41.9%, which to the best of our knowledge is the highest among all of the reported values for OPCPA systems. The compressed pulse is higher than 37 J in 21 fs(1.76 PW), and the focal spot is ~10 μm after the closed-loop corrections by the adaptive optics. Limited by the repetition of the pump laser, the SG-II 5 PW facility operates one shot per hour. | 6 | Design and experimental demonstration of a high conversion efficiency OPCPA pre-amplifier for petawatt laser facility显示文摘We present the design and experiment of a broadband optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifier(OPCPA) which provides high conversion efficiency and good beam quality at 808 nm wavelength. Using a three-dimensional spatial and temporal numerical model, several design considerations necessary to achieve high conversion efficiency, good beam quality and good output stability are discussed. To improve the conversion efficiency and broaden the amplified signal bandwidth simultaneously, the nonlinear crystal length and OPCPA parameters are analyzed and optimized with the concept of dissipating amplified idler between optical parametric amplification(OPA) of two crystals configuration.In the experiment, an amplifier consisting of two OPCPA stages of ‘L’ type configuration was demonstrated by using the optimized parameters. An amplified signal energy of 160 mJ was achieved with a total pump-to-signal efficiency of 35%(43% efficiency for the OPCPA stage 2). The output bandwidth of signal pulse reached 80 nm and the signal pulse was compressed to 24 fs. The energy stability reached 1.67% RMS at 3% pump energy variation. | 7 | Clinical efficacy of comprehensive therapy based on traditional Chinese medicine patterns on patients with pneumoconiosis: a pilot double-blind, randomized, and placebo-controlled study显示文摘Effective therapy options for pneumoconiosis are lacking.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)presents a favorable prospect in the treatment of pneumoconiosis.A pilot study on TCM syndrome differentiation can evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of TCM and lay a foundation for further clinical research.A double-blind,randomized,and placebo-controlled trial was conducted for 24 weeks,in which 96 patients with pneumoconiosis were randomly divided into the control and treatment groups.Symptomatic treatment was conducted for the two groups.The treatment group was treated with TCM syndrome differentiation,and the control group was treated with placebo.The primary outcomes were the six-minute walking distance(6MWD)and the St.George Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ)score.The secondary outcomes were the modified British Medical Research Council Dyspnea Scale(mMRC),Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Assessment Test(CAT),Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS),and pulmonary function.Only 83 patients from the 96 patients with pneumoconiosis finished the study.For the primary outcome,compared with the control groups,the treatment group showed a significantly increased 6MWD(407.90 m vs.499.51 m;95%confidence interval(CI)47.25 to 135.97;P<0.001)and improved SGRQ total score(44.48 vs.25.67;95%CI 27.87 to 9.74;P<0.001).The treatment group also significantly improved compared with the control group on mMRC score(1.4 vs.0.74;95%CI 1.08 to 0.23;P=0.003),CAT score(18.40 vs.14.65;95%CI 7.07 to 0.43;P=0.027),and the total symptom score(7.90 vs.5.14;95%CI 4.40 to 1.12;P<0.001).No serious adverse events occurred.This study showed that TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment had a favorable impact on the exercise endurance and quality of life of patients with pneumoconiosis. | Jiansheng Li Hulei Zhao Yang Xie Jieya Li Qingwei Li Xuexin Chen Weiyu Zhang | 2022 | Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,5: | 5 |
| 8 | Transcriptome analysis of the effect of pyrroloquinoline quinone disodium(PQQ·Na2) on reproductive performance in sows during gestation and lactation显示文摘Background: Pyrroloquinoline quinone(PQQ), which is a water soluble, thermo-stable triglyceride-quinone, is widely distributed in nature and characterized as a mammalian vitamin-like redox cofactor. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of pyrroloquinoline quinone disodium(PQQ·Na2) on reproductive performance in sows.Results: Dietary supplementation with PQQ·Na2 significantly increased the total number of piglets born, the number of piglets born alive and the born alive litter weight. It also increased the antioxidant status in the placenta, plasma and milk. The concentration of NO was significantly increased in the plasma and placenta. RNA-seq analysis showed that462 unigenes were differentially expressed between the control(Con) treatment and PQQ treatment groups.Among these unigenes, 199 were upregulated, while 263 unigenes were downregulated. The assigned functions of the unigenes covered a broad range of GO categories. Reproduction(27, 7.03%) and the reproduction process(27, 7.03%) were assigned to the biological process category. | 13 | Endoscopic characteristics in predicting prognosis of biopsy-diagnosed gastric low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia显示文摘Background: Endoscopic biopsy can underestimate gastric malignancies as low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (LGIN). Definitively diagnosed LGIN would progress. This study aimed to evaluate predictive factors to identify malignancies misdiagnosed as LGIN by biopsy and LGIN at high risk of progression.Methods: The clinical records of patients diagnosed with gastric LGIN by endoscopic biopsy who underwent at least two endoscopies during the first year of follow-up between 2007 and 2017 were retrospectively collected. Three endoscopists reviewed photographs of the initial endoscopy, described lesion characteristics, and made endoscopic diagnoses. Logistic regression was used to analyze predictors to identify malignancies underestimated as LGIN. A receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of these predictors. Patient clinical outcomes of follow-up >1 year were collected. Kaplan-Meier estimates with log-rank tests and Cox proportional hazards regression were used to analyze predictors of progression.Results: Overall, 48 of 182 (26.4%) patients were proven to have malignancies. A single lesion, a large lesion size, and marked intestinal metaplasia (IM) were independent predictors of initially misdiagnosed malignancies. The area under the curve of these predictors was 0.871, with a sensitivity of 68.7% and specificity of 92.5%. Twelve of 98 patients (12.2%) progressed during the 33-month median follow-up period. A whitish appearance, irregular margins, marked IM, and histological diagnosis of LGIN more than twice within the first year were predictors for progression.Conclusions: Lesions diagnosed as LGIN by biopsy with marked IM and other predictors above should be prudently treated for high potential to be malignancies or progress. | 17 | Free radicals, apparent activation energy, and functional groups during low-temperature oxidation of Jurassic coal in Northern Shaanxi显示文摘Correlations among free radicals, apparent activation energy, and functional groups during lowtemperature oxidation of Jurassic coal in Northern Shaanxi were investigated by examining three coal samples collected from the Ningtiaota, Jianxin, and Shigetai coal mines. Free radical concentrations at less than 120 °C were investigated by electron spin resonance experiments while the thermogravimetric experiments were conducted to analyze apparent activation energies. In addition, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was employed to study the spectrum of functional groups generated in coal. The results indicated that, in decreasing order, the apparent activation energies were Shigetai > Jianxin >Ningtiaota, indicating that, from 50 to 120 °C, the Ningtiaota coal sample most easily absorbed and reacted with oxygen while the most resistant was the Shigetai coal sample. Free radical concentrations and line heights increased with increased temperature, and the line width and Lande factor showed irregular fluctuations. Functional group variations were different among these coals, and the phenol and alcohol-associated OHs, carboxyls, and aromatic ring double bonds might have had a major impact on free radical concentrations. The microstructural evolution of the alloys was used to evaluate the grain-boundary effect in terms of the texture variation. The results demonstrated that■ extension twinning was introduced by the PR process and that the volume fraction of twins increased with increasing thickness reduction. The subdivision of grains via twinning induced grain reorientation that generated a prominent basal texture with the c-axis parallel to the normal direction(ND) after PR. The textured Mg alloy with this c-axis//TD feature can promote twinning activity. The twinning performance was critical to initiate plastic deformation, therefore to determine deformation behavior at room temperature.
