1Human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell therapy in patients with COVID-19:a phase 1 clinical trial显示文摘No effective drug treatments are available for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Host-directed therapies targeting the underlying aberrant immune responses leading to pulmonary tissue damage,death,or long-term functional disability in survivors require clinical evaluation.We performed a parallel assigned controlled,non-randomized,phase 1 clinical trial to evaluate the safety of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells(UC-MSCs)infusions in the treatment of patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 pulmonary disease.The study enrolled 18 hospitalized patients with COVID-19(n=9 for each group).The treatment group received three cycles of intravenous infusion of UC-MSCs(3×107 cells per infusion)on days 0,3,and 6.Both groups received standard COVID-treatment regimens.Adverse events,duration of clinical symptoms,laboratory parameters,length of hospitalization,serial chest computed tomography(CT)images,the PaO2/FiO2 ratio,dynamics of cytokines,and IgG and IgM anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies were analyzed.No serious UC-MSCs infusion-associated adverse events were observed.Two patients receiving UC-MSCs developed transient facial flushing and fever,and one patient developed transient hypoxia at 12 h post UC-MSCs transfusion.Mechanical ventilation was required in one patient in the treatment group compared with four in the control group.All patients recovered and were discharged.Our data show that intravenous UC-MSCs infusion in patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 is safe and well tolerated.Phase 2/3 randomized,controlled,double-blinded trials with long-term follow-up are needed to evaluate the therapeutic use of UC-MSCs to reduce deaths and improve long-term treatment outcomes in patients with serious COVID-19.Fanping Meng Ruonan Xu Siyu Wang Zhe Xu Chao Zhang Yuanyuan Li Tao Yang Lei Shi Junliang Fu Tianjun Jiang Lei Huang Peng Zhao Xin Yuan Xing Fan Ji-Yuan Zhang Jinwen Song Dawei Zhang Yanmei Jiao Limin Liu Chunbao Zhou Markus Maeurer Alimuddin Zumla Ming Shi Fu-Sheng Wang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:16

3Genotype variations in accumulation of cadmium and lead in celery (Apium graveolens L.) and screening for low Cd and Pb accumulative cultivars显示文摘To help reduce risks of heavy metal pollution, two pot experiments were conducted to investigate the variations, transfer potential, and stability of Cadmium (Cd) and Lead (Pb) accumulations in celery (Apium graveolens L.) and to screen for low Cd and Pb accumulative cultivars. The maximum differences in shoot Cd concentration were 4.7-fold under low-Cd exposure and 3.3-fold under high-Cd exposure. These genotype variations in Cd accumulation are sufficiently large to help reduce Cd contamination risk in soil by using the Low-Cd-Accumulative genotypes. Cd accumulation of the Low-Cd-Accumulative genotypes is significantly positive correlated with Pb accumulation. Evidence obtained proves that Cd and Pb accumulations in celery are stable and genotype-dependent at the cultivar level. The presence of high-Pb contamination in soil promoted Cd accumulation in shoots of celery. Celery is considered a species with high risks in Cd pollution and low risks in Pb pollution. Among the tested cultivars, cv. 4Intrinsic high thermal conductive liquid crystal epoxy film simultaneously combining with excellent intrinsic self-healing performance显示文摘One kind of side chain liquid crystal epoxy(S-LCE) based on biphenyl mesomorphic unit is synthesized from 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid,4-phenyl phenol,and epichlorohydrin.And the intrinsic thermal conductive liquid crystal epoxy film(LCEF) simultaneously combining with intrinsic self-healing performance is then prepared via thiol-epoxide nucleophilic ring-opening reaction and coating method.1 H NMR and FTIR show that S-LCE and LCEF have been successfully prepared.S-LCE presents nematic liquid crystal from room temperature to 160℃.LCEF maintains nematic liquid crystal performance and shows highly intrinsic thermal conductivity & excellent self-healing performance.Thermal conductivity coefficient(λ)values in vertical direction(λ⊥)and parallel direction(λ‖)of LCEF are 0.33 and 1.25 W/mK,re spectively,much higher than that of general bisphenol A epoxy resin(E-51,λ⊥ of 0.19 W/mK and λ‖ of0.65 W/mK).Tensile strength of LCEF is 10.6 MPa,which can maintain at 90.6 % and 61.3 % after one and four cycles of self-healing behavior,respectively.In addition,LCEF presents a wide service temperature range(-9.8-251℃) and good thermal stability(THRI of 148.5℃).Simultaneously,LCEF has good transparency,flexibility,and tailorability,expected to be utilized in the fields of flexible electronic devices and intelligent structures.Xutong Yang Xiao Zhong Junliang Zhang Junwei Gu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,9:7
5Highly stretchable polymer/silver nanowires composite sensor for human health monitoring显示文摘Flexible strain sensors exhibit outstanding advantages in terms of sensitivity and stability by detecting changes in physical signals.It can be easily attached to human skin and clothed to achieve monitoring of human motion and health.However,general sensing material shows low stretchability and cannot respond to signals under large deformation.In this work,a highly stretchable polymer composite was developed by adding small amount(0.17 wt.%)of silver nanowires(AgNWs)in stretchable conductive polymer materials.The conductivity of polymer/AgNWs composite is 1.3 S/m with the stretchability up to 500%.The stretchable strain sensor based on the polymer/AgNWs composite can respond to strain signals in real time,even for 1%strain response,and shows excellent stability over 1,000 loading/unloading cycles.Moreover,the strain sensor can be attached to human skin and clothed to monitor joints,throat and pulse of the human body.The human body electrocardiogram(ECG)signal was detected successfully with the polymer/AgNWs electrode,which is comparable to the signal obtained by the commercial electrode.Overall,the sensors enable monitoring of human movement and health.These advantages make it a potential application in wearable devices and electronic skin.Yanjing Zhang Pei He Meng Luo Xiaowen Xu Guozhang Dai Junliang Yang 2020Nano Research2020,13,4:7
6Sedimentary Evolution of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in Cenozoic and its Response to the Uplift of the Plateau显示文摘We have studied the evolution of the tectonic lithofacies paleogeography of Paleocene-Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene, and Pliocene of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau by compiling data regarding the type, tectonic setting, and lithostratigraphic sequence of 98 remnant basins in the plateau area. Our results can be summarized as follows. (1) The Paleocene to Eocene is characterized by uplift and erosion in the Songpan-Garzê and Gangdisê belts, depression (lakes and pluvial plains) in eastern Tarim, Qaidam, Qiangtang, and Hoh Xil, and the Neo-Tethys Sea in the western and southern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. (2) The Oligocene is characterized by uplift in the Gangdisê-Himalaya and Karakorum regions (marked by the absence of sedimentation), fluvial transport (originating eastward and flowing westward) in the Brahmaputra region (marked by the deposition of Dazhuka conglomerate), uplift and erosion in western Kunlun and Songpan-Garzê, and depression (lakes) in the Tarim, Qaidam, Qiangtang, and Hoh Xil. The Oligocene is further characterized by depressional littoral and neritic basins in southwestern Tarim, with marine facies deposition ceasing at the end of the Oligocene. (3) For the Miocene, a widespread regional unconformity (ca. 23 Ma) in and adjacent to the plateau indicates comprehensive uplift of the plateau. This period is characterized by depressions (lakes) in the Tarim, Qaidam, Xining-Nanzhou, Qiangtang, and Hoh Xil. Lacustrine facies deposition expanded to peak in and adjacent to the plateau ca. 18-13 Ma, and north-south fault basins formed in southern Tibet ca. 13-10 Ma. All of these features indicate that the plateau uplifted to its peak and began to collapse. (4) Uplift and erosion occurred during the Pliocene in most parts of the plateau, except in the Hoh Xil-Qiangtang, Tarim, and Qaidam. The continuous uplift and intensive taphrogeny in the plateau divided the original large basin into small basins, deposition of lacustrine facies decreased considerably, and boulderstone accumulated, indicating a response to the overall uplift of the plateau. Here, we discuss the evolution of tectonic lithofacies paleogeography in Cenozoic and its response to the tectonic uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in relation to the above characteristics. We have recognized five major uplift events, which occurred during 58-53 Ma, 45-30 Ma, 25-20 Ma, 13-7 Ma, and since 5 Ma. 7An SDN-Based Publish/Subscribe-Enabled Communication Platform for IoT Services显示文摘Publish/subscribe paradigm paves a way to integrate and serve many scalable, inter-operable Internet of Things(IoT) applications. The increasing IoT applications require new properties of publish/subscribe communication model, for example, strict quality of service(Qo S) guarantees, supporting a large number of widely distributed devices, etc. Software Defined Networking(SDN) enables personalized programming and individualized QoS supports for different applications. The combination of the two will have a good prospect. In this paper, we present an IoT-oriented communication platform which combines the publish/subscribe paradigm with SDN, aiming at establishing an IoT ecosystem to facilitate IoT services/applications accessing internet. We design the interaction logic of topic-based publish/subscribe middleware, and describe the setup and maintenance of topology information as well as event routing in detail, considering the characteristics of SDN. 8Wearable CNT/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene/PDMS composite strain sensor with enhanced stability for real-time human healthcare monitoring显示文摘Strain sensors with good stability are vital to the development of wearable healthcare monitoring systems.However,the design of strain sensor with both duration stability and environmental stability is still a challenge.In this work,we propose an ultra-stable and washable strain sensor by embedding a coupled composite film of carbon nanotube(CNT)and Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene into polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)matrix.The composite strain sensor with embedded microstructure and uneven surface makes it conformal to skin,while the CNT/MXene sensing layer exhibits a resistance sensitive to strain.This sensor shows reliable responses at different frequencies and with long-term cycling durability(over 1,000 cycles).Meanwhile,the CNT/MXene/PDMS composite strain sensor provides the advantages of superior anti-interference to temperature change and water washing.The results demonstrate less than 10%resistance changes as the temperature rises from-20 to 80℃or after sonication in water for 120 min,respectively.The composite sensor is applied to monitor human joint motions,such as bending of finger,wrist and elbow.Moreover,the simultaneous monitoring of the electrocardiogram(ECG)signal and joint movement while riding a sports bicycle is demonstrated,enabling the great potential of the as-fabricated sensor in real-time human healthcare monitoring.Xiaowen Xu Yucheng Chen Pei He Song Wang Kai Ling Longhui Liu Pengfei Lei Xianjun Huang Hu Zhao Jianyun Cao Junliang Yang 2021Nano Research2021,14,8:5
9Evaluating Suitability of Multiple Precipitation Products for the Lancang River Basin显示文摘Global reanalysis precipitation products could provide valuable meteorological information for flow forecasting in poorly gauged areas, helping to overcome a long-standing challenge in the field. But not all data sources are suitable for all regions or perform the same way in hydrological modeling, so it is essential to test the suitability of precipitation products before applying them. In this study, five widely used global high-resolution precipitation products—Asian Precipitation Highly Resolved Observational Data Integration Towards Evaluation of Water Resources(APHRODITE), National Centers for Environmental Prediction Climate Forecast System Reanalysis(NCEP-CFSR), Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Precipitation with Station Data(CHIRPS), China Gauge-based Daily Precipitation Analysis developed by China Meteorological Administration(CMA) and Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project based on the NASA Modern-Era Retrospective Analysis for Research and Applications(AgMERRA)—were evaluated using statistical methods and a hydrological approach for their suitability for the Lancang River Basin. The results indicated that APHRODITE, CMA, AgMERRA and CHIRPS were more accurate precipitation indicators than NCEP-CFSR in terms of the multiyear average and seasonal spatial distribution pattern, all of the CHIRPS, Ag MERRA and APHRODITE perform better than CMA and NCEP-CFSR at the small, medium and high precipitation intensities ranges in subbasin11 and sunbabsin46. All five products performed better in subbasin46(a low-altitude region) than in subbasin11(a high-altitude region) on the daily and monthly scales. In addition to NCEP-CFSR, the other four products all presented encouraging potential for streamflow simulation at daily(Yunjinghong) and monthly(Yunjinghong, Jiuzhou and Gajiu) scale. Hydrological simulations forced with APHRODITE were the best of the five for the Yunjinghong station in capturing daily and monthly measured streamflow. 10An MID-Based Load Balancing Approach for Topic-Based Pub-Sub Overlay Construction显示文摘A large proportion of Internet of Things (IoT) applications are internally publish/subscribe in nature,and traditional architecture cannot support them efficiently and flexibly.In essence,supporting efficient publish/subscribe systems requires data-oriented naming and efficient multicast.Since deployment of native IP-based multicast has failed,overlay-based multicast has become the practical choice.Since load balancing between heterogeneous nodes is an important issue,designing an optimal load balancing overlay network for publish/subscribe systems is a necessary endeavor.This study focuses on the optimal load balancing overlay design problem for topic-based publish/subscribe systems in a heterogeneous environment (in terms of node processing power,bandwidth,and reachability).The Minimum Idle Degree (MID) model is introduced to capture the heterogeneity of overlay nodes.Based on the MID model,new node load measures are defined that can accommodate heterogeneous server capacities and capture the node load in publish/subscribe systems more accurately than traditional measures.A new optimization problem,Maximum Minimum Idle Degree Topic-Connected Overlay (MMID-TCO),is established.This problem is NP-complete and a constant approximation algorithm does not exist for this problem (unless P=NP).Based on MID metrics,the Maximum Minimum Idle Degree Overlay Design Algorithm (MMID-ODA),which has polynomial time,is introduced.To improve performance,an approach that breaks down the problem into several small-scale problems by exploiting the potential inherent disjoint characteristic in the subscription table is presented.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is able to achieve better load balance than Min-Max-ODA in a heterogeneous environment.Ruisheng Shi Fuqiang Liu Yang Zhang Bo Cheng Junliang Chen 2011Tsinghua Science and Technology2011,16,6:4
11Gap-free genome assembly and comparative analysis reveal the evolution and anthocyanin accumulation mechanism of Rhodomyrtus tomentosa显示文摘Rhodomyrtus tomentosa is an important f leshy-fruited tree and a well-known medicinal plant of the Myrtaceae family that is widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical areas of the world.However,studies on the evolution and genomic breeding of R.tomentosa were hindered by the lack of a reference genome.Here,we presented a chromosome-level gap-free T2T genome assembly of R.tomentosa using PacBio and ONT long read sequencing.We assembled the genome with size of 470.35 Mb and contig N50 of∼43.80 Mb with 11 pseudochromosomes.A total of 33382 genes and 239.31 Mb of repetitive sequences were annotated in this genome.Phylogenetic analysis elucidated the independent evolution of R.tomentosa starting from 14.37MYA and shared a recent WGD event with other Myrtaceae species.We identified four major compounds of anthocyanins and their synthetic pathways in R.tomentosa.Comparative genomic and gene expression analysis suggested the coloring and high anthocyanin accumulation in R.tomentosa tends to be determined by the activation of anthocyanin synthesis pathway.The positive selection and up-regulation of MYB transcription factors were the implicit factors in this process.The copy number increase of downstream anthocyanin transport-related OMT and GST gene were also detected in R.tomentosa.Expression analysis and pathway identification enriched the importance of starch degradation,response to stimuli,effect of hormones,and cell wall metabolism during the f leshy fruit development in Myrtaceae.Our genome assembly provided a foundation for investigating the origins and differentiation of Myrtaceae species and accelerated the genetic improvement of R.tomentosa.angping Li Shiqiang Xu Zitong Xiao Jingming Wang Yu Mei Haifei Hu Jingyu Li Jieying Liu Zhuangwei Hou Junliang Zhao Shaohai Yang Jihua Wang 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,3:3
12Synchronous drying and cooling in central Asia duringlate Oligocene显示文摘Aridification of central Asia during late Oligocene and Early Miocene has been documented by numerous eolian records from the North Pacific and central Asia. However, direct evidence of aridity from the interior of the arid zone is still rather scarce. To better reconstruct the climate history in central Asia during the late Oligocene, we have analyzed ostracod assemblages and gypsum content in the sediments from the lacustrine Jingou River section in the northern Tianshan Mountains. Our results show that the cold water species Candona cf. Neglecta and Pseudocandona albicans replaced the warm water species Ilyocypris bradyi and Ilyocypris sp. to become the dominant species at 23.8 Ma, indicating significant cooling in central Asia at that time. At the same time, a substantial increase in gypsum content indicates the intensification of central Asian drying. 15CsPb(I_(x)Br_(1-x))_(3) solar cells显示文摘Owing to its nice performance, low cost, and simple solution-processing, organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cell(PSC) becomes a promising candidate for next-generation high-efficiency solar cells.The power conversion efficiency(PCE) has boosted from 3.8% to 25.2% over the past ten years. Despite the rapid progress in PCE, the device stability is a key issue that impedes the commercialization of PSCs. Recently, all-inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites have attracted much attention due to their better stability compared with their organic-inorganic counterpart. In this progress report, we summarize the properties of CsPb(IxBr1-x)3 and their applications in solar cells. The current challenges and corresponding solutions are discussed. 16Genomic evidence of lung carcinogenesis associated with coal smoke in Xuanwei area, China显示文摘Xuanwei area, in southwestern China,harbors the highest female lung cancer rate in the country(Supplementary Table 1) [1]. Epidemiological studies have shown that lung cancer incidence in Xuanwei area is associated with the use of different types of local coal for household cooking and heating [2]. The genomic landscape of Xuanwei female adenocarcinoma(XWFA), the most distinctive feature of lung cancer in Xuanwei, has yet to be elucidated systematically. 17Fully Roll‑to‑Roll Processed Efficient Perovskite Solar Cells via Precise Control on the Morphology of PbI_(2):CsI Layer显示文摘Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have attracted tremendous attention as a promising alternative candidate for clean energy generation.Many attempts have been made with various deposition techniques to scale-up manufacturing.Slot-die coating is a robust and facile deposition technique that can be applied in large-area roll-to-roll(R2R)fabrication of thin film solar cells with the advantages of high material utilization,low cost and high throughput.Herein,we demonstrate the encouraging result of PSCs prepared by slot-die coating under ambient environment using a twostep sequential process whereby PbI_(2):CsI is slot-die coated first followed by a subsequent slot-die coating of organic cations containing solution.A porous PbI_(2):CsI film can promote the rapid and complete transformation into perovskite film.The crystallinity and morphology of perovskite films are significantly improved by optimizing nitrogen blowing and controlling substrate temperature.A power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 18.13%is achieved,which is promising for PSCs fabricated by two-step fully slot-die-coated devices.Furthermore,PSCs with a 1 cm2 area yield a champion PCE of 15.10%.Moreover,a PCE of 13.00%is obtained on a flexible substrate by the roll-to-roll(R2R)coating,which is one of the highest reported cells with all layers except for metal electrode fabricated by R2R process under ambient condition.Hengyue Li Chuantian Zuo Dechan Angmo Hasitha Weerasinghe Mei Gao Junliang Yang 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,5:2
