| 1 | Performance of the Seasonal Forecasting of the Asian Summer Monsoon by BCC_CSM1.1(m)显示文摘This paper provides a comprehensive assessment of Asian summer monsoon prediction skill as a function of lead time and its relationship to sea surface temperature prediction using the seasonal hindcasts of the Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model, BCC CSM1.1(m). For the South and Southeast Asian summer monsoon, reasonable skill is found in the model's forecasting of certain aspects of monsoon climatology and spatiotemporal variability. Nevertheless, deficiencies such as significant forecast errors over the tropical western North Pacific and the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean are also found. In particular, overestimation of the connections of some dynamical monsoon indices with large-scale circulation and precipitation patterns exists in most ensemble mean forecasts, even for short lead-time forecasts.Variations of SST, measured by the first mode over the tropical Pacific and Indian oceans, as well as the spatiotemporal features over the Ni no3.4 region, are overall well predicted. However, this does not necessarily translate into successful forecasts of the Asian summer monsoon by the model. Diagnostics of the relationships between monsoon and SST show that difficulties in predicting the South Asian monsoon can be mainly attributed to the limited regional response of monsoon in observations but the extensive and exaggerated response in predictions due partially to the application of ensemble average forecasting methods. | 4 | 4 K high frequency pulse tube cryocooler used for terahertz space application显示文摘Terahertz(THz) frequency region, defined from0.1 to 10 THz, is an important frequency band for radio astronomy and atmospheric science. As NbN Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor(SIS) mixers used for terahertz detection, which are studied by the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), work at 8–10 K, and require condition of micro vibrations, its astronomical observation in aerospace is limited by suitable refrigeration method. 4 K high frequency pulse tube cryocooler developed by Key Laboratory of Space Energy Conversion Technologies(SECT), Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry(TIPC), CAS, offers an opportunity for the application of SIS mixers. This article introduces the progress of the two-stage high frequency pulse tube cryocooler researched by TIPC. The cryocooler has reached a no load temperature of 4.5 K which is the lowest temperature for this kind of cryocooler reported so far. | 5 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 6 | Geological characteristics and accumulation mechanisms of the 'continuous' tight gas reservoirs of the Xu2 Member in the middle-south transition region,Sichuan Basin,China显示文摘'Continuous' tight gas reservoirs are those reservoirs which develop in widespread tight sandstones with a continuous distribution of natural gas.In this paper,we summarize the geological features of the source rocks and 'continuous' tight gas reservoirs in the Xujiahe Formation of the middle-south transition region,Sichuan Basin.The source rocks of the Xu1 Member and reservoir rocks of the Xu2 Member are thick(Xu1 Member:40 m,Xu2 Member:120 m) and are distributed continuously in this study area.The results of drilled wells show that the widespread sandstone reservoirs of the Xu2 Member are charged with natural gas.Therefore,the natural gas reservoirs of the Xu2 Member in the middle-south transition region are 'continuous' tight gas reservoirs.The accumulation of 'continuous' tight gas reservoirs is controlled by an adequate driving force of the pressure differences between source rocks and reservoirs,which is demonstrated by a 'one-dimensional' physical simulation experiment.In this simulation,the natural gas of 'continuous' tight gas reservoirs moves forward with no preferential petroleum migration pathways(PPMP),and the natural gas saturation of 'continuous' tight gas reservoirs is higher than that of conventional reservoirs. | Zou Caineng Gong Yanjie Tao Shizhen Liu Shaobo | 2013 | Petroleum Science2013,10,2: | 11 |
| 7 | The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. | 9 | Design of a control system for a macro-micro dual-drive high acceleration high precision positioning stage for IC packaging显示文摘A macro-micro dual-drive positioning system showing good potential for high acceleration and high precision positioning required in IC packaging applications is devised in this paper. The dual-drive positioning stage uses a VCM (voice coil motor) driven macro positioning stage and a PZT piezo-electric driven micro positioning stage. The coupling characteristics of the system are analyzed to produce a control structure with a micro positioning stage that can dynamically compensate for the positioning error produced by the macro positioning stage. Models of the two positioning stages are described. The models cover both the mechanism and the actuator. For the macro positioning stage, friction characteristics are taken into account, and a controller with an LQG (linear-quadratic-Gaussian) control algorithm combining a feed-forward compensation algorithm is derived. A PID controller is used to control the micro positioning stage. | 10 | Nutritional compositions of various potato noodles:Comparative analysis显示文摘In this study,three kinds of noodles,wheat,Shepody potato and Atlantic potato noodles,were produced with blended powder consisting of wheat flour and certain amounts of various potato flours.In order to investigate the effects of potato flour on the nutritional characteristics of noodles,the nutrient compositions of four types of noodles were analyzed:fresh noodle,dried noodle,fresh noodle after boiling,and dried noodle after boiling.Results showed that the contents of protein,crude fiber,total ash,reducing sugar,vitamin B1,vitamin B2,vitamin B3,vitamin C,most mineral elements,dietary fiber,and amino acids in potato noodles were higher than those in wheat noodles.Furthermore,drying and boiling could decrease the contents of vitamin B1,vitamin B3,and mineral elements in noodles,but the nutrient contents in potato noodles remained higher than those in wheat noodles.The comprehensive nutritional values of noodles were evaluated using the index of nutritional quality,the results showed that the nutritional value of Shepody potato noodles was the highest,followed by that of Atlantic potato noodles and then wheat noodles. | Xu Fen Hu Honghai Dai Xiaofeng Liu Qiannan Huang Yanjie Zhang Hong | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,1: | 9 |

| 12 | Relationships between Interannual and Intraseasonal Variations of the Asian–Western Pacific Summer Monsoon Hindcasted by BCC CSM 1.1(m)显示文摘Using hindcasts of the Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model, the relationships between interannual variability(IAV) and intraseasonal variability(ISV) of the Asian–western Pacific summer monsoon are diagnosed. Predictions show reasonable skill with respect to some basic characteristics of the ISV and IAV of the western North Pacific summer monsoon(WNPSM) and the Indian summer monsoon(ISM). However, the links between the seasonally averaged ISV(SAISV) and seasonal mean of ISM are overestimated by the model. This deficiency may be partially attributable to the overestimated frequency of long breaks and underestimated frequency of long active spells of ISV in normal ISM years, although the model is capable of capturing the impact of ISV on the seasonal mean by its shift in the probability of phases.Furthermore, the interannual relationships of seasonal mean, SAISV, and seasonally averaged long-wave variability(SALWV; i.e., the part with periods longer than the intraseasonal scale) of the WNPSM and ISM with SST and low-level circulation are examined. The observed seasonal mean, SAISV, and SALWV show similar correlation patterns with SST and atmospheric circulation, but with different details. | 13 | The Low Energy X-ray telescope (LE) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Low Energy X-ray telescope(LE) is one of the three main instruments of the Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT). It is equipped with Swept Charge Device(SCD) sensor arrays with a total geometrical area of 384 cm^2 and an energy band from 0.7 to 13 ke V. In order to evaluate the particle induced X-ray background and the cosmic X-ray background simultaneously, LE adopts collimators to define four types of Field Of Views(FOVs), i.e., 1.6°×6°, 4°×6°, 50°-60°×2°-6 oand the blocked ones which block the X-ray by an aluminum cover. LE is constituted of three detector boxes(LEDs) and an electric control box(LEB) and achieves a good energy resolution of 140 e V@5.9 ke V, an excellent time resolution of 0.98 ms, as well as an extremely low pileup(<1%@18000 cts/s). | 14 | Occurrence and infection risk of waterborne pathogens in Wanzhou watershed of the Three Gorges Reservoir, China显示文摘The Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR), formed by China's Yangtze Three Gorges Project, is the largest lake in the world, but there is too little information available about fecal contamination and waterborne pathogen impacts on this aquatic ecosystem. During two successive 1-year study periods (July 2009 to July 2011), the water quality in Wanzhou watershed of the TGR was tested with regard to the presence of fecal indicators and pathogens. According to Chinese and World Health Organization water quality standards, water quality in the mainstream was good but poor in backwater areas. Salmonella, Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC), Giardia and Cryptosporidium were detected in the watershed. Prevalence and concentrations of the pathogens in the mainstream were lower than those in backwater areas. The estimated risk of infection with Salmonella, EHEC, Cryptosporidium, and Giardia per exposure event ranged from 2.9 × 10 -7 to 1.68 × 10-5 , 7.04 × 10-10 to 2.36 × 10-7 , 5.39 × 10-6 to 1.25 × 10-4 and 0 to 1.2 × 10-3 , respectively, for occupational divers and recreational swimmers exposed to the waters. The estimated risk of infection at exposure to the 95% upper confidence limit concentrations of Salmonella, Cryptosporidium and Giardia may be up to 2.62 × 10-5 , 2.55 × 10-4 and 2.86 × 10-3 , respectively. | 15 | Resveratrol improves cognition and reduces oxidative stress in rats with vascular dementia显示文摘Resveratrol possesses beneficial biological effects,which include anti-oxidant,anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties.Recently,resveratrol has been shown to exhibit neuroprotective effects in models of Parkinson's disease,cerebral ischemia and Alzheimer's disease.However,its effects on vascular dementia remain unclear.The present study established a rat model of vascular dementia using permanent bilateral common carotid artery occlusion.At 8-12 weeks after model induction,rats were intragastrically administered 25 mg/kg resveratrol daily.Our results found that resveratrol shortened the escape latency and escape distances in the Morris water maze,and prolonged the time spent percentage and swimming distance percentage in the target quadrant during the probe test,indicating that resveratrol improved learning and memory ability in vascular dementia rats.Further experiments found that resveratrol decreased malonyldialdehyde levels,and increased superoxide dismutase activity and glutathione levels in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex of vascular dementia rats.These results confirmed that the neuroprotective effects of resveratrol on vascular dementia were associated with its anti-oxidant properties. | Xingrong Ma Zhikun Sun Yanru Liu Yanjie Jia Boai Zhang Jiewen Zhang | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,22: | 7 |
| 16 | Design and physical model experiment of an attitude adjustment device for a crawler tractor in hilly and mountainous regions显示文摘To address the problems of difficult leveling and poor stability of hill crawler tractors,an attitude adjustment device based on a parallel four-bar mechanism was designed,and the mechanical reasons for the sideslip instability of hill crawler tractors were analyzed.On this basis,a posture adjustment mechanism based on a parallel four-bar mechanism was proposed,and the structure of the complete attitude adjustment device was designed.To ensure that this device meets the strength requirements during operation,a mechanical analysis of the key components(active rocker and slave rocker)was carried out to accommodate the load during leveling.Based on ANSYS software,a finite element simulation analysis was used to determine the maximum stress position of the active and slave rockers.Finally,to verify the accuracy of the above simulation analysis results and determine the influence rules of the lateral slope angle,longitudinal slope angle and loading quality on the abovementioned maximum stress,a physical model test bench of the attitude adjustment device was built.An orthogonal regression experiment was carried out with the maximum stresses of the active and slave rockers as the test indices.The experimental data were analyzed by Design-Expert 10 software,and the results show that the order of the primary and secondary factors influencing the maximum stress of the active rocker was the loading mass,lateral slope angle and longitudinal slope angle.The order of the factors influencing the maximum stress of the slave rocker was the longitudinal slope angle,lateral slope angle and loading mass.The active and slave rockers meet the strength requirements.This work provides technical support for the production of hill crawler tractor physical prototypes. | Jingbin Sun Chong Meng Yazhou Zhang Guoping Chu Yanjie Zhang Fuzeng Yang Zhijie Liu | 2020 | Information Processing in Agriculture2020,7,3: | 5 |
| 17 | A novel approach for designing efficient broadband photodetectors expanding from deep ultraviolet to near infrared显示文摘Broadband photodetection(PD)covering the deep ultraviolet to near-infrared(200–1000 nm)range is significant and desirable for various optoelectronic designs.Herein,we employ ultraviolet(UV)luminescent concentrators(LC),iodinebased perovskite quantum dots(PQDs),and organic bulk heterojunction(BHJ)as the UV,visible,and near-infrared(NIR)photosensitive layers,respectively,to construct a broadband heterojunction PD.Firstly,experimental and theoretical results reveal that optoelectronic properties and stability of CsPbI3 PQDs are significantly improved through Er3+doping,owing to the reduced defect density,improved charge mobility,increased formation energy,tolerance factor,etc.The narrow bandgap of CsPbI3:Er3+PQDs serves as a visible photosensitive layer of PD.Secondly,considering the matchable energy bandgap,the BHJ(BTP-4Cl:PBDB-TF)is selected as to NIR absorption layer to fabricate the hybrid structure with CsPbI3:Er3+PQDs.Thirdly,UV LC converts the UV light(200–400 nm)to visible light(400–700 nm),which is further absorbed by CsPbI3:Er3+PQDs.In contrast with other perovskites PDs and commercial Si PDs,our PD presents a relatively wide response range and high detectivity especially in UV and NIR regions(two orders of magnitude increase that of commercial Si PDs).Furthermore,the PD also demonstrates significantly enhanced air-and UV-stability,and the photocurrent of the device maintains 81.5%of the original one after 5000 cycles.This work highlights a new attempt for designing broadband PDs,which has application potential in optoelectronic devices. | Nan Ding Yanjie Wu Wen Xu Jiekai Lyu Yue Wang Lu Zi Long Shao Rui Sun Nan Wang Sen Liu Donglei Zhou Xue Bai Ji Zhou Hongwei Song | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,5: | 5 |
| 18 | Tomography system for measurement of gas properties in combustion flow field显示文摘This paper describes a self-designed fiber-coupled tomography system and its application in combustion diagnostics. The tomographic technique, which combines tunable diode laser spectroscopy and algebraic reconstruction technique, enables the simultaneous reconstruction of temperature and gas concentration with both spatial and temporal resolutions. The system measures a maximum diameter of 35 cm in a circular area with a minimum spatial resolution of 1 mm×1 mm and temporal response of up to 1 kHz. Simulations validate the effects of the beam arrangement and discrete grid on reconstruction accuracy, and give the optimal beam arrangements. | 19 | LncDACH1 promotes mitochondrial oxidative stress of cardiomyocytes by interacting with sirtuin3 and aggravates diabetic cardiomyopathy显示文摘Diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM)is a common complication in diabetic patients.The molecular mechanisms of DCM remain to be fully elucidated.The intronic long noncoding RNA of DACH1(lnc DACH1)has been demonstrated to be closely associated with heart failure and cardiac regeneration.In this study,we investigated the role of lnc DACH1 in DCM and the underlying molecular mechanisms.The expression of lnc DACH1 was increased in DCM hearts and in high glucose-treated cardiomyocytes.Knockout of lnc DACH1 reduced mitochondrial oxidative stress,cell apoptosis,cardiac fibrosis and hypertrophy,and improved cardiac function in DCM mice.Overexpression of lnc DACH1 exacerbated mitochondria-derived reactive oxygen species(ROS)level and apoptosis,decreased activity of manganese superoxide dismutase(Mn-SOD);while silencing of lnc DACH1 attenuated ROS production,mitochondrial dysfunction,cell apoptosis,and increased the activity of Mn-SOD in cardiomyocytes treated with high glucose.Lnc DACH1 directly bound to sirtuin3(SIRT3)and facilitated its degradation by ubiquitination,therefore promoting mitochondrial oxidative injury and cell apoptosis in mouse hearts.In addition,SIRT3 silencing abrogated the protective effects of lnc DACH1 deficiency in cardiomyocytes.In summary,lnc DACH1 aggravates DCM by promoting mitochondrial oxidative stress and cell apoptosis via increasing ubiquitination-mediated SIRT3 degradation in mouse hearts.Inhibition of lnc DACH1 represents a novel therapeutic strategy for the intervention of diabetic cardiomyopathy. | Qi Zhang Danyang Li Xue Dong Xiaowen Zhang Junwu Liu Lili Peng Bo Meng Qi Hua Xinyu Pei Lu Zhao Xiaoxi Hu Yang Zhang Zhenwei Pan Yanjie Lu Baofeng Yang | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,6: | 4 |
