| 2 | Quantitative and morphological differences of nerve fibers between proliferative and mature scars in two-and three-dimensional spaces显示文摘BACKGROUND: Numerous studies use fluorescent microscopy to obtain two-dimensional optical images of the morphology of nerve fibers in hypertrophic scars.In addition,current confocal microscopy studies have focused on normal,not pathological,cutaneous nerves.However,laser scanning confocal microscopy results in a three-dimensional structure of the nerve fibers.OBJECTIVE: To observe quantitative and morphological differences in nerve fibers from the proliferative and mature stage in hypertrophic scars using fluorescent and confocal microscopy.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING: Neuropathological,comparison study was conducted at the Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University,China from June 2006 to July 2007.PARTICIPANTS: Specimens were selected from 30 patients undergoing scar restoration at the Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University of China at 1 month to 23 years following wound healing.The study comprised 20 males and 10 females.The scars were fibrous lesions,erythematous,tough,confined to skin lesions,did not exhibit ulceration or infection,exhibited telangiectasia,with or without itching and pain,and were not locally treated.Samples were equally assigned to two groups according to course of disease: proliferative group (< 6 months) and mature group (6–24 months).Control samples were collected from full-thickness skin from donor sites (n = 10).METHODS: Nerve fiber morphology was observed using fluorescent and confocal microscopy following immunofluorescence of the skin specimens.The microscopic images were semi-quantitatively analyzed to acquire a positive area ratio of neurofilament protein-positive nerve fibers.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Morphology and positive area ratio of neurofilament protein/positive nerve fibers was measured.RESULTS: The positive area ratio of neurofilament protein-positive nerve fibers was significantly greater in the proliferative group compared to the normal control group (P < 0.05).Nerve fibers were irregularly distributed and exhibited local swelling,twisting,and disconnection.However,the positive area ratio of neurofilament protein-positive nerve fibers was significantly less in the mature group compared with the normal control group (P < 0.05).The nerve fibers were arranged in an orderly manner,with intact inner and stereoscopic structures similar to normal skin.CONCLUSION: Compared with mature scars,hypertrophic scars exhibited a greater number of nerve fibers,with more serious pathologies. | Yibing Wang Xia Li Rui Zhang Yongqiang Feng Yu Liu | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,2: | 5 |

| 4 | Combination therapy of thiamine,vitamin C and hydrocortisone in treating patients with sepsis and septic shock:a meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis显示文摘Background:The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of thiamine and vitamin C with or without hydrocortisone coadministration on the treatment of sepsis and septic shock.Methods:MEDLINE,EMBASE and CENTRAL databases were searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that made a comparative study between the combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine with or without hydrocortisone and the administration of placebo in patients with sepsis or septic shock.Two reviewers independently performed study selection,data extraction and quality assessment.Both short-term mortality and change in the sequential organ failure assessment(SOFA)score from baseline(delta SOFA)were set as the primary outcomes.Secondary endpoints included intensive care unit(ICU)mortality,new onset of acute kidney injury,total adverse events,ICU and hospital length of stay,duration of vasopressor usage and ventilator-free days.Meanwhile,trial sequential analysis was conducted for primary outcomes.Results:Eight RCTs with 1428 patients were included in the current study.The results showed no significant reduction of short-term mortality in sepsis and septic shock patients who received combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine with or without hydrocortisone compared to those with placebo{risk ratio(RR),1.02[95%confidence interval(CI),0.87 to 1.20],p=0.81,I2=0%;risk difference(RD),0[95%CI,−0.04 to 0.05]}.Nevertheless,the combination therapy was associated with significant reduction in SOFA score[mean difference(MD),−0.63,(95%CI,−0.96 to−0.29,p<0.001,I^(2)=0%]and vasopressors duration(MD,−22.11[95%CI,−30.46 to−13.77],p<0.001,I2=6%).Additionally,there were no statistical differences in the pooled estimate for other outcomes.Conclusions:In the current meta-analysis,the combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine,with or without hydrocortisone had no impact on short-term mortality when compared with placebo,but was associated with significant reduction in SOFA score among patients with sepsis and septic shock. | Renqi Yao Yibing Zhu Yue Yu Zhixuan Li Lixue Wang Liyu Zheng Jingyan Li Huibin Huang Guosheng Wu Feng Zhu Zhaofan Xia Chao Ren Yongming Yao | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 2 |
| 5 | Transcriptome sequencing analysis for the identification of stable lncRNAs associated with bovine Staphylococcus aureus mastitis显示文摘Background:Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)mastitis is one of the most difficult diseases to treat in lactating dairy cows worldwide.S.aureus with different lineages leads to different host immune responses.Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)are reported to be widely involved in the progress of inflammation.However,no research has identified stable lncRNAs among different S.aureus strain infections.In addition,folic acid(FA)can effectively reduce inflammation,and whether the inflammatory response caused by S.aureus can be reduced by FA remains to be explored.Methods:lncRNA transcripts were identified from Holstein mammary gland tissues infected with different concentrations of S.aureus(in vivo)and mammary alveolar cells(Mac-T cells,in vitro)challenged with different S.aureus strains.Differentially expressed(DE)lncRNAs were evaluated,and stable DE lncRNAs were identified in vivo and in vitro.On the basis of the gene sequence conservation and function conservation across species,key lncRNAs with the function of potentially immune regulation were retained for further analysis.The function of FA on inflammation induced by S.aureus challenge was also investigated.Then,the association analysis between these keys lncRNA transcripts and hematological parameters(HPs)was carried out.Lastly,the knockdown and overexpression of the important lncRNA were performed to validate the gene function on the regulation of cell immune response.Results:Linear regression analysis showed a significant correlation between the expression levels of lncRNA shared by mammary tissue and Mac-T cells(P<0.001,R^(2)=0.3517).lncRNAs PRANCR and TNK2-AS1 could be regarded as stable markers associated with bovine S.aureus mastitis.Several HPs could be influenced by SNPs around lncRNAs PRANCR and TNK2-AS1.The results of gene function validation showed PRANCR regulates the mRNA expression of SELPLG and ITGB2 within the S.aureus infection pathway and the Mac-T cells apoptosis.In addition,FA regulated the expression change of DE lncRNA involved in toxin metabolism and inflammation to fight against S.aureus infection.Conclusions:The remarkable association between SNPs around these two lncRNAs and partial HP indicates the potentially important role of PRANCR and TNK2-AS1 in immune regulation.Stable DE lncRNAs PRANCR and TNK2-AS1 can be regarded as potential targets for the prevention of bovine S.aureus mastitis.FA supplementation can reduce the negative effect of S.aureus challenge by regulating the expression of lncRNAs. | Siyuan Mi Yongjie Tang Gerile Dari Yuanjun Shi Jinning Zhang Hailiang Zhang Xueqin Liu Yibing Liu Usman Tahir Ying Yu | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,2: | 2 |

| 8 | Diagnostic performance of different specimens in detecting enterovirus A71 in children with hand,foot and mouth disease显示文摘Hand,foot and mouth disease(HFMD)is a major public health problem among children in the Asia-Pacific region.The optimal specimen for HFMD virological diagnosis remains unclear.Enterovirus A71(EV-A71)neutralizing antibody titres detected in paired sera were considered the reference standard for calculating the sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive value of throat swabs,rectal swabs,stool,blood samples and cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)by RT-PCR or ELISA assay.In this study,clinical samples from 276 HFMD patients were collected for analysing the sensitivity of different kind of specimens.Our results showed that stool had the highest sensitivity(88%,95%CI:74%–96%)and agreement with the reference standard(91%).The order of diagnostic yield for EV-A71 infection was stool samplerectal swab>throat swab>blood sample>CSF sample,and using a combination of clinical samples improved sensitivity for enterovirus detection.The sensitivity of ELISA for IgM antibody detection in sterile-site specimens was significantly higher than that of RT-PCR(serum/plasma:62%vs.2%,CSF:47%vs.0%)(P<0.002).In conclusion,our results suggest that stool has the highest diagnostic yield for EV-A71-infected HFMD.If stool is unavailable,rectal swabs can be collected to achieve a similar diagnostic yield.Otherwise,throat swabs may be useful in detecting positive samples.Although IgM in blood or CSF is diagnostically accurate,it lacks sensitivity,missing 40%–50%of cases.The higher proportion of severe cases and shorter interval between onset and sampling contributed to the increase in congruency between clinical testing and the serological reference standard. | Yonghong Zhou Chongchen Zhou Kai Wang Qi Qiu Yibing Cheng Yu Li Peng Cui Lu Liang Peng Li Xiaowei Deng Lili Wang Wen Zheng Hui Gong Fang Wang Meng Xu Justin Jang Hann Chu Lance Turtle Hongjie Yu | 2023 | Virologica Sinica2023,38,2: | 1 |

| 14 | A 2D Staggered Multi-Material ALE Code Using MOF Interface Reconstruction显示文摘Hydrocodes are necessary numerical tools in the fields of implosion and high-velocity impact,which often involve large deformations with changing-topology interfaces.It is very difficult for Lagrangian or Simplified Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian(SALE)codes to tackle these kinds of large-deformation problems,so a stag-gered Multi-Material ALE(MMALE)code is developed in this paper,which is the explicit time-marching Lagrange plus remap type.We use the Moment Of Fluid(MOF)method to reconstruct the interfaces of multi-material cells and present an adaptive bisection method to search for the global minimum value of the nonlinear objective function.To keep the Lagrangian computations as long as possible,we develop a ro-bust rezoning method named as Combined Rezoning Method(CRM)to generate the convex,smooth grids for the large-deformation domain.Regarding the staggered remap phase,we use two methods to remap the variables of Lagrangian mesh to the rezoned one.One is the first-order intersection-based remapping method that doesn’t limit the distances between the rezoned and Lagrangian meshes,so it can be used in the applications of wide scope.The other one is the conservative second-order flux-based remapping method developed by Kucharika and Shashkov[22]that requires the rezoned element to locate in its adjacent old elements.Numerical results of triple point problem show that the result of first-order remapping method using ALE computations is gradually convergent to that of second-order remapping method using Eulerian computations with the decrease of rezoning,thereby telling us that MMALE computations should be performed as few as possible to reduce the errors of the interface reconstruction and the remapping.Numerical results provide a clear evidence of the robustness and the accuracy of this MMALE scheme,and that our MMALE code is powerful for the large-deformation problems. | Yibing Chen Junxia Cheng Liang Pan Haihua Yang Heng Yong Xin Yu | 2021 | Numerical Mathematics(Theory,Methods and Applications)2021,14,1: | 0 |
| 15 | Comparison and application of different empirical correlations for estimating the hydrate safety margin of oil-based drilling fluids containing ethylene glycol显示文摘As the oil and gas industries continue to increase their activity in deep water, gas hydrate hazards will become more serious and challenging, both at present and in the future. Accurate predictions of the hydrate-free zone and the suitable addition of salts and/or alcohols in preparing drilling fluids are particularly important both in preventing hydrate problems and decreasing the cost of drilling operations. In this paper, we compared several empirical correlations commonly used to estimate the hydrate inhibition effect of aqueous organic and electrolyte solutions using experiments with ethylene glycol (EG) as a hydrate inhibitor. The results show that the Najibi et al. correlation (for single and mixed thermodynamic inhibitors) and the Ostergaard et al. empirical correlation (for single thermodynamic inhibitors) are suitable for estimating the hydrate safety margin of oil-based drilling fluids (OBDFs) in the presence of thermodynamic hydrate inhibitors. According to the two correlations, the OBDF, composed of 1.6 L vaporizing oil, 2% emulsifying agent, 1% organobentonite, 0.5% SP-1, 1% LP-1, 10% water and 40% EG, can be safely used at a water depth of up to 1900 m. | 18 | Region-adaptive Concept Aggregation for Few-shot Visual Recognition显示文摘Few-shot learning (FSL) aims to learn novel concepts from very limited examples. However, most FSL methods suffer from the issue of lacking robustness in concept learning. Specifically, existing FSL methods usually ignore the diversity of region contents that may contain concept-irrelevant information such as the background, which would introduce bias/noise and degrade the performance of conceptual representation learning. To address the above-mentioned issue, we propose a novel metric-based FSL method termed region-adaptive concept aggregation network or RCA-Net. Specifically, we devise a region-adaptive concept aggregator (RCA) to model the relationships of different regions and capture the conceptual information in different regions, which are then integrated in a weighted average manner to obtain the conceptual representation. Consequently, robust concept learning can be achieved by focusing more on the concept-relevant information and less on the conceptual-irrelevant information. We perform extensive experiments on three popular visual recognition benchmarks to demonstrate the superiority of RCA-Net for robust few-shot learning.
