1Why super sandstorm 2021 in North China?显示文摘Severe sandstorms reoccurred in the spring of 2021 after an absence for more than 10 years in North China.The dust source area,located in Mongolia,suffered destructive cooling and warming in early and late winter,which loosened the land.A lack of precipitation,excessive snow melt and strong evaporation resulted in dry soil and exiguous spring vegetation.A super-strong Mongolian cyclone developed on the bare and loose ground,and easily blew and transported large amounts of sand particles into North China.Furthermore,top-ranking anomalies(sea ice shift in the Barents and Kara Sea,and sea surface temperatures in the east Pacific and northwest Atlantic) were found to induce the aforementioned tremendous climate anomalies in the dust source area.Analys es,based on large-ensemble Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6,yield results identical to the reanalysis data.Thus,the climate variabilities at different latitudes and synoptic disturbances jointly facilitated the strongest spring sandstorm over the last decade.Zhicong Yin Yu Wan Yijia Zhang Huijun Wang 2022National Science Review2022,9,3:7
2Aquaporin-4 is a potential drug target for traumatic brain injury via aggravating the severity of brain edema显示文摘Background:Traumatic brain edema(TBE)is caused by a specific water channel mediated by membrane aquaporins.Aquaporin-4(AQP4)plays an especially important role in this process,but the relationship between AQP4 and TBE remains unclear.The purpose of this study was to explore expression of AQP4 in the hippocampus after traumatic brain injury(TBI),as well as the effect of brain edema on skeletal protein and its function in hippocampal neurons.Methods:The adult male Wistar rats we divided into a sham group and a TBI group,the latter of which was further divided into 1,3,6,12,24 and 72 hours(h)and 15 days(d)post injury subgroups.A proper TBI model was established,and brain edema was assessed in each group by water content.We measured the abundance of various proteins,including hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α),AQP4,microtubule-associated protein 2(MAP2),tau-5 protein,phosphorylated level of TAU,synaptophysin,cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element binding protein(CREB),phosphorylated CREB and general control nonrepressed 2,in each group.Hippocampal neurons and spatial memory test were analyzed in different time points.Results:Compared with that in the sham group,the level of AQP4 in hippocampal neurons began to significantly increase at 1 h post TBI and then decreased at 15 d post TBI.During this time frame,AQP4 level peaked at 12 and 72 h,and these peaks were closely correlated with high brain water content.HIF-1αdisplayed a similar trend.Conversely,levels of MAP2 began to decrease at 1 h post TBI and then increase at 15 d post TBI.In addition,the most severe brain edema in rats was found at 24 h post TBI,with neuronal loss and hippocampal dendritic spine injury.Compared to those in the sham group,rats in the TBI groups had significantly prolonged latency and significantly shortened exploration time.Conclusions:AQP4 level was closely correlated with severity of brain edema,and abnormal levels thereof aggravated such severity after TBI.Ao Xiong Renping Xiong Jing Yu Yijia Liu Ke Liu Ge Jin Jianzhong Xu Jun Yan 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:5

4Passivity-based Active Stabilization for DC Microgrid Applications显示文摘In this paper,an improved active stabilization strategy of the interface converters in microgrid applications is proposed on the basis of the passivity-based stability criterion(PBSC).As a critical part of AC and DC hybrid microgrids,the DC microgrid is taken as an example.In particular,a stabilization method with a proportional-integral(PI)controller and firstorder high-pass filter(HPF)is proposed to meet the passivity requirements of the overall control diagram with respect to the output voltage.Meanwhile,an output current feedback control loop is introduced to ensure the output impedance passivity.Moreover,a small-signal model of the parallel interface converter system is established to comprehensively study the influence of control parameters on the passivity of the converters.Based on the active stabilization method proposed in this study,by manipulating the control diagram of each interface converter,the passivity and stability of the DC microgrids with variable configuration can be guaranteed.Therefore,a generic and simplified design approach is realized.A simulation model with three interface converters is implemented in MATLAB/Simulink,and the effectiveness of the proposed passivity-based active stabilization algorithm is verified by using this simulation model.Jiaqi Yu Jingrong Yu Yue Wang Yijia Cao Xiaonan Lu Dongbo Zhao 2018CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2018,4,1:2

6A multi-band atomic candle with microwave-dressed Rydberg atoms显示文摘Stabilizing important physical quantities to atom-based standards lies at the heart of modern atomic,molecular and optical physics,and is widely applied to the field of precision metrology.Of particular importance is the atom-based microwave field amplitude stabilizer,the so-called atomic candle.Previous atomic candles are realized with atoms in their ground state,and hence suffer from the lack of frequency band tunability and small stabilization bandwidth,severely limiting their development and potential applications.To tackle these limitations,we employ microwave-dressed Rydberg atoms to realize a novel atomic candle that features multi-band frequency tunability and large stabilization bandwidth.We demonstrate amplitude stabilization of microwave field from C-band to Ka-band,which could be extended to quasi-DC and terahertz fields by exploring abundant Rydberg levels.Our atomic candle achieves stabilization bandwidth of 100 Hz,outperforming previous ones by more than two orders of magnitude.Our simulation indicates the stabilization bandwidth can be further increased up to 100 kHz.Our work paves a route to develop novel electric field control and applications with a noise-resilient,miniaturized,sensitive and broadband atomic candle.Yafen Cai Shuai Shi Yijia Zhou Jianhao Yu Yali Tian Yitong Li Kuan Zhang Chenhao Du Weibin Li Lin Li 2023Frontiers of physics2023,18,1:1

8Preparation and tribological properties of potassium titanate-Ti_3C_2T_x nanocomposites as additives in base oil显示文摘A potassium titanate-Ti_3 C_2 T_x nanocomposite was synthesized using a facile, low-temperature and environmentally friendly process. The morphology and micro structure of the as-prepared samples were analyzed by means of XRD, SEM, TEM, and XPS. The tribological property of the nanocomposite as additive in base oil was evaluated. The results reveal that the in-situ formed potassium titanate nanowires with average diameter of 30 nm and the uniform distribution on the surface of Ti3 C2 Tx nanosheets.Compare to Ti_3 C_2 T_x nanosheets, the average friction coefficient and wear scar width of the oil containing potassium titanate-Ti_3 C_2 T_x nanocomposites are decreased by 4.9% and 22% under the same conditions.The excellent tribological performance is attributed to the synergic effects of the two components in the nanocomposite structure.Xuefeng Zhang Yu Guo Yijia Li Yong Liu Shangli Dong 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,2:1
9Flower-like C@SnOx@C hollow nanostructures with enhanced electrochemical properties for lithium storage显示文摘Hollow nanostructures have attracted considerable attention owing to their largesurface area, tunable cavity, and low density. In this study, a unique flower-likeC@SnOx@C hollow nanostructure (denoted as C@SnOx@C-1) was synthesizedthrough a novel one-pot approach. The C@SnOx@C-1 had a hollow carbon coreand interlaced petals on the shell. Each petal was a SnO2 nanosheet coatedwith an ultrathin carbon layer -2 nm thick. The generation of the hollow carboncore, the growth of the SnO2 nanosheets, and the coating of the carbon layerswere simultaneously completed via a hydrothermal process using resorcinol-formaldehyde resin-coated SiO2 nanospheres, tin chloride, urea, and glucose asprecursors. 12Looking for positive viewpoints for Alzheimer's caregivers:Case evaluation of a positive energy group显示文摘Objective:As estimated in a report of global Alzheimer’s disease published by Alzheimer’s Disease International in 2015,there will be 9.9 million new patients worldwide with Alzheimer’s disease in 2015,with a new Alzheimer’s patient diagnosed,on average,every 3 seconds.Since Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible disease,the most that can be done for Alzheimer’s patients is to merely delay the onset of disease,which to date cannot be completely cured.Therefore,even though great effort is put into caring for the patient,caregivers should not expect any substantial changes.The caring process is a dynamic process that contains negative and positive experiences.During the caring period,not only do caregivers spend a lot of effort and work very hard to help the patient,but in fact care recipients themselves also give energy to caregivers.This study attempts to take a positive energy viewpoint to explore and design a program that is suitable for Alzheimer’s caregivers.The aims of the study were as follows:(a)to explore the needs and burdens of Alzheimer’s caregivers in the treatment process of patients,(b)to design a program that meets the needs of the caregivers,and(c)to evaluate the effects of implementing a program.Methods:The study is a qualitative study employing in‐depth interviews.Interviews were conducted from September 2015 to December 2015;the interview results were reviewed and a positive energy group program was designed.Pre‐test and post‐test interviews were carried out for the program so as to evaluate the effects of the program.Results:According to the caregiver interview results,we understand the caring needs and caring process of caregivers.From the interview results,we now know that caregivers’continuous care mainly comes from positive energy in psychological,social and relationship aspects.Positive energy seems to have been affecting caregivers’caring ability and willingness.Therefore,a two‐stage group activity program was designed to provide a recollective handmade craft group and an art therapy group.Research results of the study show that when the main caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients took part in group activities,positive energy in social and relationship aspects increased for the caregiver group too.Conclusions:From these intervention programs caregivers could obtain more knowledge of patient care and these activities could effectively lighten caregivers’burdens.Wenchien Hsieh Qinying Chen Qingling Sun Peixuan Chen Yijia Chen Wenting Xu Yiting Zhang Yiqian Yu Yimei Huang 2016Translational Neuroscience and Clinics2016,2,1:0

15Boosting a sub-10 nm nanogap array by plasmon-triggered waveguide resonance显示文摘Gap-type metallic nanostructures are widely used in catalytic reactions,sensors,and photonics because the hotspot effect on these nanostructures supports giant local electromagnetic field enhancement.To achieve hotspots,researchers devote themselves to reducing gap distances,even to 1 nm.However,current techniques to fabricate such narrow gaps in large areas are still challenging.Herein,a new coupling way to boost the sub-10 nm plasmonic nanogap array is developed,based on the plasmon-triggered optical waveguide resonance via near-field coupling.This effect leads to an amplified local electromagnetic field within the gap regions equivalent to narrower gaps,which is evidenced experimentally by the surface-enhanced Raman scattering intensity of probed molecules located in the gap and the finite-difference time-domain numerical simulation results.This study provides a universal strategy to promote the performance of the existing hotspot configurations without changing their geometries.YU TIAN HAILONG WANG YIJIA GENG LILI CONG YU LIU WEIQING XU SHUPING XU 2020Photonics Research2020,8,12:0

18Multi-objective Model Predictive Control of Grid-connected Three-level Inverter Based on Hierarchical Optimization显示文摘In order to solve the problem of weighting factors selection in the conventional finite-control-set model predictive control for a grid-connected three-level inverter,an improved multi-objective model predictive control without weighting factors based on hierarchical optimization is proposed.Four control objectives are considered in this strategy.The grid current and neutral-point voltage of the DC-link are taken as the objectives in the first optimization hierarchy,and by using fuzzy satisfaction decision,several feasible candidates of voltage vectors are determined.Then,the average switching frequency and common-mode voltage are optimized in the second hierarchy.The average ranking criterion is introduced to sort the objective functions,and the best voltage vector is obtained to realize the coordinated control of multiple objectives.At last,the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified by simulation results.Ting Liu Yong Li Li Jiang Jianghu Wan Jiaqi Yu Chao Ding Yijia Cao 2021Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2021,7,1:0
