Multicolor carbon dots with concentration-tunable fluorescence and solvent-affected aggregation states for white light-emitting diodes显示文摘Multicolor emissive carbon dots(M-CDs)have tremendous potential applications in manifold fields of bioimaging, biomedicine and light-emitting devices.Until now,it is still difficult to produce fluorescence tunable CDs with high quantum yield across the entire visible spectra. In this work,a type of M-CDs with concentration-tunable fluorescence and solvent-affected aggregation states was synthesized by solvothermal treatment of citric acid(CA)and 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol(PAN)and the formation mechanism was monitored by different reaction time and raw material ratio. The fluorescence spectra of M-CDs in organic solvents can range from 350 to 750 nm by adjusting the concentration.M-CDs possess different aggregation states in water and organic solvents, accompanied by different fluorescence emission, which is attributed to the different surface states of various component CDs in M-CDs.Moreover,the obtained products can be uniformly dispersed into polymethylmethacrylate(PMMA)solutions as well as epoxy resins to fabricate transparent CDs/PMMA films and CDs/epoxy composites, which can effectively prevent the aggregation and produce multicolor and white light-emitting diodes(WLED).In addition, the prepared WLED with Commission Internationale de L’Eclairage(CIE)of(0.29,0.31)by using M-CDs/epoxy resin as packages, demonstrating the M-CDs exhibit potential applications for light-emitting devices. | Fanyong Yan Yingxia Jiang Xiaodong Sun Junfu Wei Liang Chen Yuyang Zhang | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,1: | 4
The Construction of Active Source Repeated Monitoring in the Qilian Mountain, Gansu Province显示文摘The exciting source of the active source repeated monitoring is located in the Xiliushui Reservoir in Zhangye,Gansu Province. The system began operating normally on July 9,2015,and we had completed a period of 40 days of continuous excitation experiment before November 10,2015. Our results reveal that the airgun source has good consistency and repeatability, and the detective system of active source can record signal clearly. The construction of active source repeated exploration projects has achieved some results, which can provide valuable experience for the research of active source repeated exploration. The observation data we obtained makes it possible to follow the temporal and spatial variations of the deep structure of the Qilian Mountain areas. | Zhang Yuansheng Guo Xiao Qin Manzhong Liu Xuzhou Wei Congxin Shen Xuzhang Yan Wenhua Zou Rui Yin Liang Wang Yahong Sun Dianfeng Feng Hongwu Zhang Lifeng Guo Yingxia | 2016 | Earthquake Research in China2016,30,3: | 4
Development of a reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction-based assay for broad coverage detection of African and Asian Zika virus lineages显示文摘The Zika virus(ZIKV) is an arbovirus that has spread rapidly worldwide within recent times. There is accumulating evidence that associates ZIKV infections with Guillain-Barré Syndrome(GBS) and microcephaly in humans. The ZIKV is genetically diverse and can be separated into Asian and African lineages. A rapid, sensitive, and specific assay is needed for the detection of ZIKV across various pandemic regions. So far, the available primers and probes do not cover the genetic diversity and geographic distribution of all ZIKV strains. To this end, we have developed a one-step quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR) assay based on conserved sequences in the ZIKV envelope(E) gene. The detection limit of the assay was determined to be five RNA transcript copies and 2.94 × 10^(–3) 50% tissue culture infectious doses(TCID50) of live ZIKV per reaction. The assay was highly specific and able to detect five different ZIKV strains covering the Asian and African lineages without nonspecific amplification, when tested against other flaviviruses. The assay was also successful in testing for ZIKV in clinical samples. Our assay represents an improvement over the current methods available for the detection ZIKV and would be valuable as a diagnostic tool in various pandemic regions. | Yang Yang Gary Wong Baoguo Ye Shihua Li Shanqin Li Haixia Zheng Qiang Wang Mifang Liang George F Gao Lei Liu Yingxia Liu Yuhai Bi | 2017 | Virologica Sinica2017,32,3: | 3
Extracellular Elastin Molecule Modulates Alzheimer’s AβDynamics In Vitro and In Vivo by Affecting Microglial Activities显示文摘Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a neurodegenerative disorder, and the etiology of AD has not been completely elucidated. It remains unknown how the components from the brain’s extracellular matrix(ECM),particularly fibrous entities, may influence the pathogenesis of AD.Herein,we report that treatment with elastin-like polypeptides(ELPs),a component of the brain ECM,significantly increases the extracellular levels of AD-related amyloid-beta(Aβ)peptides and decreases intracellular Aβlevels in human microglial cell model HMC3 cells(HMC3). | Jingjing Li Yao Sun Yingxia Liang Jun Ma Bo Li Chao Ma Rudolph ETanzi Hongjie Zhang Kai Liu Can Zhang | 2021 | CCS Chemistry2021,3,7: | 2
Drug repositioning of disulfiram induces endometrioid epithelial ovarian cancer cell death via the both apoptosis and cuproptosis pathways显示文摘Various therapeutic strategies have been developed to overcome ovarian cancer. However, the prognoses resulting from these strategies are still unclear. In the present work,we screened 54 small molecule compounds approved by the FDA to identify novel agents that could inhibit the viability of human epithelial ovarian cancer cells.Among these,we identified disulfiram(DSF),an old alcohol-abuse drug,as a potential inducer of cell death in ovarian cancer.Mechanistically,DSF treatment significantly reduced the expression of the anti-apoptosis marker Bcell lymphoma/leukemia-2(Bcl-2)and increase the expression of the apoptotic molecules Bcl2 associated X(Bax)and cleaved caspase-3 to promote human epithelial ovarian cancer cell apoptosis.Furthermore,DSF is a newly identified effective copper ionophore, thus the combination of DSF and copper was used to reduce ovarian cancer viability than DSF single treatment.Combination treatment with DSF and copper also led to the reduced expression of ferredoxin 1 and loss of Fe-S cluster proteins(biomarkers of cuproptosis). In vivo,DSF and copper gluconate significantly decreased the tumor volume and increased the survival rate in a murine ovarian cancer xenograft model. Thus, the role of DSF revealed its potential for used as a viable therapeutic agent for the ovarian cancer. | YAPING GAN TING LIU WEIFENG FENG LIANG WANG LI LI YINGXIA NING | 2023 | Oncology Research2023,31,3: | 2
Rift Valley Fever Virus and Yellow Fever Virus in Urine: A Potential Source of Infection显示文摘Dear Editor,In recent years, the incidence of human infections caused by emerging or re-emerging pathogens has rapidly increased.Diseases that were once regional now have the ability to spread globally in a short amount of time and pose a wider threat to public health(Weaver et al.2018).Yellow fever virus(YFV,family Flaviviridae, genus Flavivirus)is a mosquito-borne flavivirus that causes yellow fever in humans and has been endemic in Africa and Latin America for many years(Domingo et al.2018). | Meng Li Beibei Wang Liqiang Li Gary Wong Yingxia Liu Jinmin Ma Jiandong Li Hongzhou Lu Mifang Liang Ang Li Xiuqing Zhang Yuhai Bi Hui Zeng | 2019 | Virologica Sinica2019,34,3: | 1
Immunological and metabolic characteristics of the Omicron variants infection显示文摘The Omicron variants of SARS-CoV-2,primarily authenticated in November 2021 in South Africa, has initiated the 5th wave of global pandemics. Here,we systemically examined immunological and metabolic characteristics of Omicron variants infection. We found Omicron resisted to neutralizing antibody targeting receptor binding domain(RBD)of wildtype SARS-CoV-2.Omicron could hardly be neutralized by sera of Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)convalescents infected with the Delta variant.Through mass spectrometry on MHC-bound peptidomes,we found that the spike protein of the Omicron variants could generate additional CD8+T cell epitopes, compared with Delta. These epitopes could induce robust CD8+T cell responses. Moreover,we found booster vaccination increased the cross-memory CD8+T cell responses against Omicron.Metabolic regulome analysis of Omicron-specific T cell showed a metabolic profile that promoted the response of memory T cells.Consistently,a greater fraction of memory CD8+T cells existed in Omicron stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs).In addition,CD147 was also a receptor for the Omicron variants, and CD147 antibody inhibited infection of Omicron.CD147-mediated Omicron infection in a human CD147 transgenic mouse model induced exudative alveolar pneumonia.Taken together, our data suggested that vaccination booster and receptor blocking antibody are two effective strategies against Omicron. | Jiejie Geng Xu Yang Kun Wang Ke Wang Ruo Chen Zhi-Nan Chen Chuan Qin Guizhen Wu Youchun Wang Ke Xu Peng Du Jiangning Liu Shirui Chen Tao Zhang Xiuxuan Sun Ting Guo Ying Shi Zheng Zhang Ding Wei Peng Lin Qingyi Wang Jing Yuan Jiuxin Qu Jin Zou Yingxia Liu Hongzhou Lu Ping Zhu Huijie Bian Liang Chen | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,2: | 0
Avian influenza viruses suppress innate immunity by inducingtrans-transcriptional readthrough via SSU72显示文摘Innate immunity plays critical antiviral roles. The highly virulent avian influenza viruses (AIVs) H5N1, H7N9, and H5N6 can betterescape host innate immune responses than the less virulent seasonal H1N1 virus. Here, we report a mechanism by whichtranscriptional readthrough (TRT)-mediated suppression of innate immunity occurs post AIV infection. By using cell lines, mouselungs, and patient PBMCs, we showed that genes on the complementary strand (“trans” genes) influenced by TRT were involved inthe disruption of host antiviral responses during AIV infection. The trans-TRT enhanced viral lethality, and TRT abolishmentincreased cell viability and STAT1/2 expression. The viral NS1 protein directly bound to SSU72, and degradation of SSU72 inducedTRT. SSU72 overexpression reduced TRT and alleviated mouse lung injury. Our results suggest that AIVs infection induce TRT byreducing SSU72 expression, thereby impairing host immune responses, a molecular mechanism acting through the NS1-SSU72-trans-TRT-STAT1/2 axis. Thus, restoration of SSU72 expression might be a potential strategy for preventing AIV pandemics. | Yan Zhao Fengming Huang Zhen Zou Yuhai Bi Yang Yang Cong Zhang Qiang Liu Daozhen Shang Yiwu Yan Xiangwu Ju Song Mei Peng Xie Xiao Li Mingyao Tian Shuguang Tan Huijun Lu Zongsheng Han Kangtai Liu Yuqing Zhang Junbo Liang Zhu Liang Qingchao Zhang Jiahui Chang William JLiu Cong Feng Tanshi Li Michael Q.Zhang Xiaoyue Wang George FGao Yingxia Liu Ningyi Jin Chengyu Jiang | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,6: | 0

Development and Validation of a Prognostic Risk Score System for COVID-19 Inpatients:A Multi-Center Retrospective Study in China显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has become a worldwide pandemic.Hospitalized patients of COVID-19 suffer from a high mortality rate, motivating the development of convenient and practical methods that allow clinicians to promptly identify high-risk patients. Here,we have developed a risk score using clinical data from 1479 inpatients admitted to Tongji Hospital,Wuhan,China(development cohort)and externally validated with data from two other centers:141 inpatients from Jinyintan Hospital,Wuhan,China(validation cohort 1)and 432 inpatients from The Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen,Shenzhen,China(validation cohort 2).The risk score is based on three biomarkers that are readily available in routine blood samples and can easily be translated into a probability of death. The risk score can predict the mortality of individual patients more than 12 d in advance with more than 90%accuracy across all cohorts. Moreover, the Kaplan-Meier score shows that patients can be clearly differentiated upon admission as low, intermediate,or high risk, with an area under the curve(AUC)score of 0.9551.In summary,a simple risk score has been validated to predict death in patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2);it has also been validated in independent cohorts. | Ye Yuan Chuan Sun Xiuchuan Tang Cheng Cheng Laurent Mombaerts Maolin Wang Tao Hu Chenyu Sun Yuqi Guo Xiuting Li Hui Xu Tongxin Ren Yang Xiao Yaru Xiao Hongling Zhu Honghan Wu Kezhi Li Chuming Chen Yingxia Liu Zhichao Liang Zhiguo Cao Hai-Tao Zhang Ioannis Ch.Paschaldis Quanying Liu Jorge Goncalves Qiang Zhong Li Yan | 2022 | Engineering2022,8,1: | 0
