| 3 | Current Status and Future Challenges of Weather Radar Polarimetry: Bridging the Gap between Radar Meteorology/Hydrology/Engineering and Numerical Weather Prediction显示文摘After decades of research and development, the WSR-88 D(NEXRAD) network in the United States was upgraded with dual-polarization capability, providing polarimetric radar data(PRD) that have the potential to improve weather observations,quantification, forecasting, and warnings. The weather radar networks in China and other countries are also being upgraded with dual-polarization capability. Now, with radar polarimetry technology having matured, and PRD available both nationally and globally, it is important to understand the current status and future challenges and opportunities. The potential impact of PRD has been limited by their oftentimes subjective and empirical use. More importantly, the community has not begun to regularly derive from PRD the state parameters, such as water mixing ratios and number concentrations, used in numerical weather prediction(NWP) models.In this review, we summarize the current status of weather radar polarimetry, discuss the issues and limitations of PRD usage, and explore potential approaches to more efficiently use PRD for quantitative precipitation estimation and forecasting based on statistical retrieval with physical constraints where prior information is used and observation error is included. This approach aligns the observation-based retrievals favored by the radar meteorology community with the model-based analysis of the NWP community. | 5 | Expression regulation and function of NLRC5显示文摘The NOD like receptors(NLRs),a class of intracellular receptors that respond to pathogen attack or cellular stress,have gained increasing attention.NLRC5,the largest member of the NLR protein family,has recently been identified as a critical regulator of immune responses.While NLRC5 is constitutively and widely expressed,it can be dramatically induced by interferons during pathogen infections.Both in vitro and in vivo studies have demonstrated that NLRC5 is a specifi c and master regulator of major mistocompatibility complex(MHC)class I genes as well as related genes involved in MHC class I antigen presentation.The expression of MHC class I genes is regulated by NLRC5 in coordination with the RFX components through an enhanceosome-dependent manner.And the involvement of NLRC5 in MHC class I mediated CD8^(+)T cell activation,proliferation and cytotoxicity is proved to be critical for host defense against intracellular bacterial infections.Nevertheless,the role of NLRC5 in innate immunity remains to be further explored.Here,we review the research advances on the structure,expression regulation and function of NLRC5. | Yikun Yao Youcun Qian | 2013 | Protein & Cell2013,4,3: | 5 |
| 6 | Acute carbon monoxide poisoning in Shandong, China: an observational study显示文摘Background: Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning remains a major cause of accidental injuries and multiple studies have indicated that CO is also associated with significantly severe or long-term toxicity to the central nervous system. Given that CO poisoning causes serious morbidity and mortality, a better understanding of epidemiological features and clinical characteristics of acute CO poisoning in China is crucial.Methods: We collected the clinical data of acute CO poisoning in patients between November 2019 and April 2020 across Shandong province, China and analyzed its characteristics focusing on the weekly amount and the severity of the confirmed cases.Results: A total number of 21,088 acute CO poisoning cases were diagnosed. The overall incidence of acute CO poisoning was approximately 0.021%. On severity rankings, 63% of confirmed cases (n=13,378) were mild, 27%(n=5635) were moderate, and 10% (n=2075) were severe. Interestingly, the coastal cities had more confirmed cases than the inland/suburban areas in Shandong. Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases was negatively correlated with the local mean daily temperature (P=0.0167).Conclusions: Mild acute CO poisoning cases accounted for the majority of all confirmed cases during the winter of 2019. | 18 | Create Rich Oxygen Defects of Unique Tubular Hierarchical Molybdenum Dioxide to Modulate Electron Transfer Rate for Superior High-Energy Metal-Ion Hybrid Capacitor显示文摘Metal-ion capacitors could merit advantages from both batteries and capacitors,but they need to overcome the severe restrictions from their sluggish reaction kinetics of the battery type electrode and low specific capacitance of capacitor type electrode for both high energy and power density.Herein,we use the Kirkendall effect for the first time to synthesize unique tubular hierarchical molybdenum dioxide with encapsulated nitrogen-doped carbon sheets while in situ realizing phosphorus-doping to create rich oxygen vacancies(P-MoO_(2-x)@NP-C)as a sodium-ion electrode.Experimental and theoretical analysis confirm that the P-doping introduced oxygen defects can partially convert the high-bond-energy Mo–O to low-bond-energy Mo–P,resulting in a low oxidation state of molybdenum for enhanced surface reactivity and rapid reaction kinetics.The as-prepared P-MoO_(2-x)@NP-C as an ion-battery electrode is further used to pair active N-doped carbon nanosheet(N-C-A)electrode for Na-ion hybrid capacitor,delivering excellent performance with an energy density of 140.3 Wh kg^(−1),a power density of 188.5 W kg^(−1)and long stable life in non-aqueous solution,which ranks the best among all reported MoO x-based hybrid capacitors.P-MoO_(2-x)@NP-C is also used to fabricate a zinc-ion hybrid capacitor,also accomplishing a remarkable energy density of 43.8 Wh kg^(−1),a power density of 93.9 W kg^(−1),and a long stable life@2A g^(−1)of 32000 cycles in aqueous solutions,solidly verifying its universal significance.This work not only demonstrates an innovative approach to synthesize high-performance metal ion hybrid capacitor materials but also reveals certain scientific insights into electron transfer enhancement mechanisms. | Heng Zhang Jinggao Wu Zhuo Zou Youcun Bai Chao Wu Qingxin Zeng Feng Liu Wei Shen Jian Jiang Chang Ming Li | 2023 | Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,3: | 0 |

| 20 | Calibration of GRACE on-board accelerometers for thermosphere density derivation显示文摘Low Earth Orbit satellite on-board accelerometers play an important role in improving our understanding of thermosphere density;however,the accelerometer-derived densities are subject to accelerometer calibration errors.In this study,two different dynamic calibration schemes,the accelerometer parameter-incorporated orbit fitting and precise orbit determination(POD),are investigated with the Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment(GRACE)satellite accelerometers for thermosphere density derivation during years 2004–2007(inclusive).We show that the GRACE accelerometer parametrization can be optimized by fixing scale coefficients and estimating biases every 60 min so that the orbit fitting and POD precision can be improved from 10 cm to 2 cm in the absence of empirical acceleration compensations and as a result the integrity of calibration parameters may be reserved.The orbit-fitting scheme demonstrates similar calibration precision with respect to POD.Their bias estimates in the along-track and cross-track components exhibit an offset within 0.1%and a standard deviation(STD)less than 0.3%.Correspondingly,a bias of 2.20%and a STD of 5.75%exists between their thermosphere density estimates.The orbit-fitting and POD-derived thermosphere densities are validated through the comparison against the results published by other institution.The comparison shows that either of them can achieve a precision level at 6%.To derive thermosphere density from the rapid-increasing amount of on-board accelerometer data sets,it is suggested to take full advantage of the orbit-fitting scheme due to its high efficiency as well as high precision. | Min Li Zhuo Lei Wenwen Li Kecai Jiang Youcun Wang Qile Zhao | 2022 | Geo-Spatial Information Science2022,25,1: | 0 |
