2Advanced smart biomaterials and constructs for hard tissue engineering and regeneration显示文摘Hard tissue repair and regeneration cost hundreds of billions of dollars annually worldwide, and the need has substantially increased as the population has aged. Hard tissues include bone and tooth structures that contain calcium phosphate minerals.Smart biomaterial-based tissue engineering and regenerative medicine methods have the exciting potential to meet this urgent need. Smart biomaterials and constructs refer to biomaterials and constructs that possess instructive/inductive or triggering/stimulating effects on cells and tissues by engineering the material's responsiveness to internal or external stimuli or have intelligently tailored properties and functions that can promote tissue repair and regeneration. The smart material-based approaches include smart scaffolds and stem cell constructs for bone tissue engineering; smart drug delivery systems to enhance bone regeneration; smart dental resins that respond to pH to protect tooth structures; smart pH-sensitive dental materials to selectively inhibit acid-producing bacteria; smart polymers to modulate biofilm species away from a pathogenic composition and shift towards a healthy composition; and smart materials to suppress biofilms and avoid drug resistance. These smart biomaterials can not only deliver and guide stem cells to improve tissue regeneration and deliver drugs and bioactive agents with spatially and temporarily controlled releases but can also modulate/suppress biofilms and combat infections in wound sites. 4Effects of electro-acupuncture on brain tissue norepinephrine contents in a morphine withdrawal anxiety mouse model显示文摘BACKGROUND: Following morphine withdrawal, anxiety is associated with abnormal norepinephrine content change. However, increasing blood lactic acid content can induce anxiety or panic in patients with anxiety disorder or endogenous opioid peptide functional disorder. OBJECTIVE: This study was designed to observe the effects of electro-acupuncture, at the 'Sanyinjiao' point (SP 6), on brain tissue norepinephrine and blood lactic acid content in anxiety-model mice after morphine withdrawal. DESIGN: A randomized controlled animal experiment. SETTING: This study was performed in the Laboratory of Acupuncture, Electro-acupuncture & Tuina College, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, from June to September 2001. MATERIALS: A total of 50 healthy Kunming male mice were provided by the Laboratory Animal Center of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The protocol was performed in accordance with ethical guidelines stated in the Guide for the use and care of laboratory animals, approved by the Committee on the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals of the Institute of Laboratory Animal Resources Commission on Life Sciences, National Research Council, China (1985). Experimental reagents and equipment used were as follows: morphine hydrochloride (Lot No. 930503, Shenyang No.1 Pharmaceutical Factory, China), norepinephrine (Sigma Chemical Company, USA), fluorospectrophotometer (RF-510, Shimadzu Corporation, Japan), Han electro-acupuncture apparatus (WQ 1002, No. zun (91)-227270-588, Beijing Anlong Photoelectricity-Technique Company, China), and T-maze (self-made). METHODS: A total of 50 mice were randomly divided into 5 groups, with 10 mice in each group: blank control, T-maze, model, model + electro-acupuncture, and electro-acupuncture groups. Establishment of anxiety model after morphine withdrawal: the mouse hot plate assay was used to detect the activity of morphine. The median effective dose of morphine, 2.95 mg/kg, was defined as the base. Mice were subcutaneously administered morphine, 3 times a day, for 4 days successively (initially 2.95 mg/kg, then increased day by day, as described below). Interventions: In the model + electro-acupuncture group, after model induction, mice were subjected electro-acupuncture at bilateral 'Sanyinjiao' (SP6) points using a Han electro-acupuncture apparatus with sparse-dense waves and frequency of 2-100 Hz, once a day, for 6 days. In the model group, after anxiety-model induction, mice were subjected to fixation as same as model + electro-acupuncture group within 6 days of model induction. In the electro-acupuncture group, the anxiety model was not induced and mice were subjected to fixation, electro-acupuncture and the T-maze test. In the T-maze group, the anxiety model was not induced and mice were subjected to fixation. The T-maze test was performed in the 4 groups after experiment. In the blank control group, the anxiety model was not induced and mice were subjected to fixation only. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Brain tissue norepinephrine content of morphine-withdrawal anxiety mice was detected by fluorospectrophotometry after 6 days of electro-acupuncture. Blood lactic acid content was detected by visible spectrophotometry. RESULTS: A total of 50 mice were included in the final analysis. Brain norepinephrine content was significantly greater in the model group compared to the T-maze, blank control, electro-acupuncture and model + electro-acupuncture groups, (P < 0.05-0.01). Brain norepinephrine content was similar between the model + electro-acupuncture and the blank control groups (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in blood lactic acid content among the groups (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Electro-acupuncture lowers brain norepinephrine content but does not influence peripheral blood lactic acid content in morphine-withdrawn, anxiety-modeled mice. 6Anti-hypertensive and endothelia protective effects of Fufang Qima capsule(复方芪麻胶囊) on primary hypertension via adiponectin/adenosine monophosphate activated protein kinase pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the potential mechanism of the vascular remodeling effect and provide additional information about anti-hypertension activity of Fufang Qima capsule(复方芪麻胶囊,QM).METHODS:Spontaneous hypertensive rats(SHRs)were used to study the underlying mechanism of the anti-hypertension activity of QM.In this study,SHRs were randomly divided into 5 groups:model group,Telmisartan group(7.2 mg/kg,p.o.),and three QM groups(0.9298,1.8596,and 3.7192 g/kg,p.o.).Wistar Kyoto rats(WKY)were used as normal control group.Blood pressure(BP),aorta,perivascular adipose tissue(PVAT)histology were investigated to evaluate the effect of QM.Nitric oxide(NO)and endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS)phosphorylation were measured.Adiponectin(APN)secretion,as well as APN signal pathway proteins including APN,adiponectin receptors(R1 and R2)and adenosine 5’-monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK)were all analyzed.RESULTS:QM significantly reduced BP and ameliorated the vascular pathological change,i.e.intima media thicken and collagen fiber hyperplasia.Meanwhile,QM increased concentration of NO and the phosphorylation of eNOS in the aorta.The anti-hypertensive and endothelia-protective effect of QM could be attributed to activating APN/AMPK pathway by up-regulating the expression of APN in PVAT and APN Receptor 2,AMPKαand phosphorylated AMPKαin the aorta.CONCLUSION:The QM alleviation effect mechanism for primary hypertension was via modulating the APN/AMPK signal pathway.ZHAO Zhiyue SHI Zhenyu ZHANG Zhenzhen LI Yinghong ZENG Xiaohui CHEN Yuxing YAO Nan ZHOU Min SU Hui WANG Qinghai JIN LiLi 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,6:2
7Superscalar communication: A runtime optimization for distributed applications显示文摘Building distributed applications is difficult mostly because of concurrency management. Existing approaches primarily include events and threads. Researchers and developers have been debating for decades to prove which is superior. Although the conclusion is far from obvious, this long debate clearly shows that neither of them is perfect. One of the problems is that they are both complex and error-prone. Both events and threads need the programmers to explicitly manage concurrencies, and we believe it is just the source of difficulties. In this paper, we propose a novel approach—superscalar communication, in which concurrencies are automatically managed by the runtime system. It dynamically analyzes the programs to discover potential concurrency opportunities; and it dynamically schedules the communication and the computation tasks, resulting in automatic concurrent execution. This approach is inspired by the idea of superscalar technology in modern microprocessors, which dynamically exploits instruction-level parallelism. However, hardware superscalar algorithms do not fit software in many aspects, thus we have to design a new scheme completely from scratch. Superscalar communication is a runtime extension with no modification to the language, compiler or byte code, so it is good at backward compatibility. 10The Circadian System Is Essential for the Crosstalk of VEGF-Notch-mediated Endothelial Angiogenesis in Ischemic Stroke显示文摘Ischemic stroke is a major public health problem worldwide.Although the circadian clock is involved in the process of ischemic stroke,the exact mechanism of the circadian clock in regulating angiogenesis after cerebral infarction remains unclear.In the present study,we determined that environmental circadian disruption(ECD)increased the stroke severity and impaired angiogenesis in the rat middle cerebral artery occlusion model,by measuring the infarct volume,neurological tests,and angiogenesis-related protein.We further report that Bmal1 plays an irreplaceable role in angiogenesis.Overexpression of Bmal1 promoted tube-forming,migration,and wound healing,and upregulated the vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and Notch pathway protein levels.This promoting effect was reversed by the Notch pathway inhibitor DAPT,according to the results of angiogenesis capacity and VEGF pathway protein level.In conclusion,our study reveals the intervention of ECD in angiogenesis in ischemic stroke and further identifies the exact mechanism by which Bmal1 regulates angiogenesis through the VEGF-Notch1 pathway.Yuxing Zhang Xin Zhao Chun Guo Ying Zhang Fukang Zeng Qian Yin Zhong Li Le Shao Desheng Zhou Lijuan Liu 2023Neuroscience Bulletin2023,39,9:1

12In operando-formed interface between silver and perovskite oxide for efficient electroreduction of carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide显示文摘Electrochemical carbon dioxide(CO_(2))reduction(ECR)is a promising technology to produce valuable fuels and feedstocks from CO_(2).Despite large efforts to develop ECR catalysts,the investigation of the catalytic performance and electrochemical behavior of complex metal oxides,especially perovskite oxides,is rarely reported.Here,the inorganic perovskite oxide Ag-doped(La_(0.8)Sr_(0.2))_(0.95)Ag_(0.05)MnO_(3-δ)(LSA0.05M)is reported as an efficient electrocatalyst for ECR to CO for the first time,which exhibits a Faradaic efficiency(FE)of 84.3%,a remarkable mass activity of 75Ag^(-1)(normalized to the mass of Ag),and stability of 130 h at a moderate overpotential of 0.79 V.The LSA0.05M catalyst experiences structure reconstruction during ECR,creating the in operando-formed interface between the perovskite and the evolved Ag phase.The evolved Ag is uniformly distributed with a small particle size on the perovskite surface.Theoretical calculations indicate the reconstruction of LSA0.05M during ECR and reveal that the perovskite-Ag interface provides adsorption sites for CO_(2) and accelerates the desorption of the*CO intermediate to enhance ECR.This study presents a novel high-performance perovskite catalyst for ECR andmay inspire the future design of electrocatalysts via the in operando formation of metal-metal oxide interfaces.Xinhao Wu Yanan Guo Yuxing Gu Fenghua Xie Mengran Li Zhiwei Hu Hong-Ji Lin Chih-Wen Pao Yu-Cheng Huang Chung-Li Dong Vanessa KPeterson Ran Ran Wei Zhou Zongping Shao 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,4:0
13Visualization of α_1-adrenergic receptors with phenylpiperazine-based fluorescent probes显示文摘Several novel fluorescent probes targeting α_1-adrenergic receptors were well designed and synthesized by conjugating phenylpiperazine pharmacophore with coumarin and fluorescein fluorophores. These compounds showed suitable fluorescence property, high receptor affinity, and low cytotoxicity. 16Highly Thermally Conductive and Structurally Ultra‑Stable Graphitic Films with Seamless Heterointerfaces for Extreme Thermal Management显示文摘Highly thermally conductive graphitic film(GF)materials have become a competitive solution for the thermal management of high-power electronic devices.However,their catastrophic structural failure under extreme alternating thermal/cold shock poses a significant challenge to reliability and safety.Here,we present the first investigation into the structural failure mechanism of GF during cyclic liquid nitrogen shocks(LNS),which reveals a bubbling process characterized by“permeation-diffusion-deformation”phenomenon.To overcome this long-standing structural weakness,a novel metal-nanoarmor strategy is proposed to construct a Cu-modified graphitic film(GF@Cu)with seamless heterointerface.This well-designed interface ensures superior structural stability for GF@Cu after hundreds of LNS cycles from 77 to 300 K.Moreover,GF@Cu maintains high thermal conductivity up to 1088 W m^(−1)K^(−1)with degradation of less than 5%even after 150 LNS cycles,superior to that of pure GF(50%degradation).Our work not only offers an opportunity to improve the robustness of graphitic films by the rational structural design but also facilitates the applications of thermally conductive carbon-based materials for future extreme thermal management in complex aerospace electronics.Peijuan Zhang Yuanyuan Hao Hang Shi Jiahao Lu Yingjun Liu Xin Ming Ya Wang Wenzhang Fang Yuxing Xia Yance Chen Peng Li Ziqiu Wang Qingyun Su Weidong Lv Ji Zhou Ying Zhang Haiwen Lai Weiwei Gao Zhen Xu Chao Gao 2024Nano-Micro Letters2024,16,3:0
17Fabrication and Characterization of GCO Electrolyte Films显示文摘Gd-doped Ceria (GCO:Gd_(0.1)Ce_(0.9)O_(1.95)) sensing films have been fabricated successfully on glasses and porous Al_2O_3 ceramic substrates by RF magnetron sputtering.Sputtering conditions such as power and temperature have been investigated and the sample was characterized in detail by XRD,SEM and AC impedance spectroscopy.The results show that the films grow preferentially along the (111) compact plane with a pure fluorite structure and the crystal grain grows more sufficiently with increasing of the annealing temperature.In addition,a high oxygen ion conductivity of 2.24×10^(-2) S.cm^(-1) is achieved at 800℃.Yuxing Xu Zilong Tang Zhongtai Zhang Zhigang Zhou Lihai Xu 2006稀有金属材料与工程2006,35,A03:0
18Large unsaturated positive and negative magnetoresistance in Weyl semimetal TaP显示文摘After successfully growing single-crystal Ta P, we measured its longitudinal resistivity(ρxx) and Hall resistivity(ρyx) at magnetic fields up to 9 T in the temperature range of 2-300 K. At 8 T, the magnetoresistance(MR) reached 3.28 × 105% at 2 K, 176%at 300 K. Neither value appeared saturated. We confirmed that Ta P is a hole-electron compensated semimetal with a low carrier concentration and high hole mobility of μh=3.71 × 10~5cm^2/V s, and found that a magnetic-field-induced metal-insulator transition occurs at room temperature. Remarkably, because a magnetic field(H) was applied in parallel to the electric field(E), a negative MR due to a chiral anomaly was observed and reached-3000% at 9 T without any sign of saturation, either, which is in contrast to other Weyl semimetals(WSMs). The analysis of the Shubnikov-de Haas(Sd H) oscillations superimposed on the MR revealed that a nontrivial Berry's phase with a strong offset of 0.3958, which is the characteristic feature of charge carriers enclosing a Weyl node. 19Localized Myocardial Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Temperature-Sensitive Budesonide Nanoparticles during Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation显示文摘Radiofrequency(RF)catheter ablation has emerged as an effective alternative for the treatment of atrial fibrillation(AF),but ablation lesions will result in swelling and hematoma of local surrounding tissue,triggering inflammatory cell infiltration and increased release of inflammatory cytokines.Some studies have shown that the inflammatory response may be related to the early occurrence of AF.The most direct way to inhibit perioperative inflammation is to use anti-inflammatory drugs such as glucocorticoids.Here,we prepared polylactic-co-glycolic acid(PLGA)nanoparticles loaded with budesonide(BUD)and delivered them through irrigation of saline during the onset of ablation.Local high temperature promoted local rupture of PLGA nanoparticles,releasing BUD,and produced a timely and effective local myocardial anti-inflammatory effect,resulting in the reduction of acute hematoma and inflammatory cell infiltration and the enhancement of ablation effect.Nanoparticles would also infiltrate into the local myocardium and gradually release BUD ingredients to produce a continuous antiinflammatory effect in the next few days.This resulted in a decrease in the level of inflammatory cytokine IL-6 and an increase of anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10.This study explored an extraordinary drug delivery strategy to reduce ablation-related inflammation,which may prevent early recurrence of AF.Ye Liu Lingling Xu Qiuyun Zhang Yong Kang Lifeng Liu Zheng Liu Yuxing Wang Xuejiao Jiang Yizhu Shan Ruizeng Luo Xi Cui Yuan Yang Xinchun Yang Xiaoqing Liu Zhou Li 2022Research2022,,3:0
20CdS nanoparticles decorated hexagonal Fe_(2)O_(3) nanosheets with a Z-scheme photogenerated electron transfer path for improved visible-light photocatalytic hydrogen production显示文摘Photocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen production(H_(2))is one of the main potential applications of photocatalytic technology,which can use solar energy as the energy required for chemical reactions to alleviate the energy crisis.In this work,zero-dimensional/two-dimensional(0D/2D)contact surface CdS/α-Fe_(2)O_(3)(CF)heterojunction photocatalyst was synthesized via a simple solvothermal method.Photocatalytic hydrogen production experiments revealed that the CF-15 sample shows the optimal photocatalytic H_(2)rate(1806μmol·h^(-1)·g^(-1))and apparent quantum efficiency(AQE=13.7%atλ=420 nm).The enhancement of photocatalytic performance is mainly attributed to the contact of 0D/2D interface and the synergistic effect of Z-scheme electron transfer mechanism.This work provides an effective way for modified composite semiconductor photocatalyst by constructing special interface heterojunction to achieve highly efficiently catalysis.Feng Guo Haoran Sun Yuxing Shi Fengyu Zhou Weilong Shi 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,3:0
