Influences of Seasonal Freezing and Thawing on Soil Water-stable Aggregates in Orchard in High Cold Region,Northeast China显示文摘Soil aggregate stability,as an important indicator of soil functions, may be affected by seasonal freezing and thawing(SFT)and land use in high cold and wet regions. Therefore, comprehensive understanding the effects of SFT on aggregate stability in orchards during winter and spring is crucial to develop appropriate management strategies that can effectively alleviate the degradation of soil quality to ensure sustainable development of orchard ecosystems. To determine the mechanism of degradation in orchard soil quality, the effects of SFT on the stability of water-stable aggregates were examined in apple-pear orchards(Pyrus ussuriensis var.ovoidea)of four different ages(11,25,40,and 63 yr)on 0 to 5%slopes before freezing and after thawing from October 2015 to June 2016 in Longjing City,Yanbian Prefecture,Northeast China, involving a comparison of planted versus adjacent uncultivated lands(control).Soil samples were collected to investigate water-stable aggregate stability in three incremental soil layers(0–20,20–40 and 40–60 cm).In the same samples, iron oxide, organic matter, and clay contents of the soil were also determined. Results showed that the destructive influences of SFT on water-stable aggregates were more pronounced with the increased orchards ages, and SFT exerted severe effects on water-stable aggregates of older orchards(40 and 63 yr)than juvenile orchards.Undergoing SFT,the soil instability index and the percentage of aggregate destruction increased by mean 0.15 mm and 1.86%,the degree of aggregation decreased by mean 1.32%,and the erosion resistance weakened, which consequently led to aggregate stability decreased. In addition, soil free, amorphous, and crystalline iron oxide as well as soil organic matter and clay contents are all important factors affecting the stability of water-stable aggregates, and their changes in their contents were consistent with those in the stability of water-stable aggregates. The results of this study suggest that long-term planting fruit trees can exacerbate the damaging effects of SFT on aggregate stability and further soil erosion increases and nutrient losses in an orchard, which hider sustainable use of soil and the productivity orchards. | LIANG Yunjiang DENG Xu SONG Tao CHEN Guoshuang WANG Yuemei ZHANG Qing LU Xinrui | 2021 | Chinese Geographical Science2021,31,2: | 3

Studies on the isolation and culture of protoplasts from Kappaphycus alvarezii显示文摘In this study, protoplasts were successfully isolated from Kappaphycus alvarezii using snail enzymes, abalone enzymes and cellulase. The optimum enzymic ratio was fixed to be 20% of abalone enzyme, 12% of cellulase and the osmotic stabilizer was 2.0 mol/L glucose. The optimum enzymic hydrolysis conditions were found to be dark enzymolysis at 30°C continuing for 4.0 h. The resultant density and yield of protoplasts achieved 32.60×104 mL-1, 65.20×104 g-1 tissue for Kappaphycus alvarezii. Finally, under the temperature of 20°C, light intensity of 1 500–2 000 lx and photoperiod of 12 h/d, two developmental pathways were investigated:(1) callus-like cell mass and regenerated plantlet occurred on protoplast;(2) young shoots and calluslike cell mass occurred in tissue blocks after enzymolysis. | ZHANG Si LIU Cui JIN Yuemei CHI Shan TANG Xianming CHEN Fuxiao FANG Xu LIU Tao | 2014 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2014,33,10: | 2

Development of the pulse bump magnet in HEPS显示文摘Purpose In the extraction process from booster to storage ring(BTS)for high energy photon source(HEPS),the implementation of four pulse bump magnets plays a crucial role in creating a localized bump. This serves to effectively reduce the upstream kicker strength and facilitate the extraction procedure. In this paper, the development of four pulse bump magnets is presented, which were meticulously designed and thoroughly discussed, taking into consideration dynamic characteristics of the pulse magnet such as magnetic field, eddy current, induced voltage, and vibration. Methods The magnetic field and eddy currents of the pulse bump magnet were calculated through simulation using OPERA/ELLEKTRA,based on the 3D model. The design of the magnet incorporated the utilization of eddy currents within the vacuum chamber to achieve improved field uniformity.Furthermore, the measurements were performed to validate the magnet's design. Results The central magnetic field, integral magnetic field, effective length, and field uniformity measured for the first magnet meet the design specifications. The temperature measurement of the first magnet indicates that the temperature in the magnet was within acceptable limits. The measurement results for the other three magnets are consistent with those of the first one. Conclusions The magnetic field performances of four pulse bump magnets meet the physical requirements for beam extraction in BTS of HEPS.Additionally, the magnets have demonstrated reliable operation during extended testing periods. | Lihua Huo Jinhui Chen Guanwen Wang Lei Wang Yuemei Peng Zhe Duan Yuanyuan Guo Guanjian Wu Xinzhe Zhai | 2023 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2023,7,4: | 1
Synthesis of porous carbon spheres derived from lignin through a facile method for high performance supercapacitors显示文摘Porous carbon spheres(PCS) derived from lignin have been prepared through a facile method and fabricated as electrodes for electric double-layer capacitors. Spherical shaped mixtures of lignosulfonate and crystalized KOH are formed by spray drying of a solution of lignosulfonate and KOH. Activation by KOH is performed at high temperatures along with lignosulfonate carbonization. With an appropriate pore structure, the obtained PCS have a specific surface area of 1372.87 m^2 g^(-1) and show a capacitance of 340 F g^(-1) in 3 M KOH at a current density of 0.5 A g^(-1). Moreover, a symmetric supercapacitor fabricated using the PCS as electrodes show a maximum capacitance of 68.5 F g^(-1), and an energy density of 9.7 W h kg^(-1) at a power density of 250 W kg^(-1). The capacity retention is more than 94.5% after 5000 galvanostatic chargedischarge cycles. The excellent characteristics seem to be ascribed to the pore structures of PCS that have a large specific surface area and a low electrical resistance. | Yuemei Chen Guoxiong Zhang Jingyuan Zhang Haibo Guo Xin Feng Yigang Chen | 2018 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,11: | 1
Formation of CMK-3/Co_3O_4 nanosheets on nickel foam with markedly enhanced pseudocapacitive properties显示文摘Composites of mesoporous carbon(CMK-3) and Co_3 O_4 nanosheets grown on nickel foam were successfully synthesized by a simple route. A bare Co_3 O_4 film was synthesized for comparison. With the addition of CMK-3, the Co_3 O_4 nanoparticles self-organize and agglomerate into nanosheets, showing a significant influence by CMK-3 on the morphology. The CMK-3/Co_3 O_4 exhibits an optimal specific capacitance of 1131.3 Fg^(-1) in 3 mol L-1 KOH aqueous electrolyte at 0.5 Ag-1, and a retention ratio of 91% over3000 cycles, both being much higher than that achieved from the bare Co_3 O_4 film(727 Fg^(-1) of specific capacitance, and 82% capacitance retention ratio), indicating that the CMK-3/Co_3 O_4 nanosheets are very promising as electrode materials for supercapacitor applications. | Guoxiong Zhang Yuemei Chen Yingjian Jiang Chuan Lin Yigang Chen Haibo Guo | 2018 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,9: | 1

Control of an Intermittent Outbreak Caused by an Emerging Pandrug-Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii Clone ST457 in a Tertiary Hospital显示文摘Acinetobacter baumannii is a frequent cause of nosocomial infections. Here we report an intermittent outbreak caused by the emerging carbapenem-resistant A.baumannii(CRAB)clone ST457 and assess the effectiveness of patient screening for outbreak control.CRAB isolates were collected from 74 patients admitted to the respiratory intensive care unit of a tertiary hospital between May 2018 and March 2019.Fourteen CRAB isolates were assigned to ST457,and 13 belonged to an outbreak clone,as determined by phylogenomic analysis.Strict patient screening was started at the respiratory intensive care unit on May 2019,through which a ST457-positive patient transferred from the intensive care unit was detected. No positive patients were detected within 3months onwards. The results of this study highlight the importance of rigorous infection prevention and control measures, combined with patient screening,in controlling the CRAB outbreak. | Chuqiu Zhang Tingting Xu Yang Ji Wenping Zheng Jingsong Wu Yuemei Lu Huiping Li Rongchang Chen Chen Qiu Kai Zhou | 2021 | Infectious Microbes & Diseases2021,3,4: | 1
Visualization of enantioselective recognition and separation of chiral acids by aggregation-induced emission chiral diamine显示文摘Enantioselective recognition and separation are the most important issues in the fields of chemistry, pharmacy, agrochemical, and food science. Here,we developed two optically active diamines showing aggregation-induced emission(AIE)that can discriminate 5 kinds of chiral acids with high enantioselectivity.Especially,a very high fluorescence intensity ratio(IL/ID)of 281 for(±)-Dibenzoyl-D/L-tartaric acid was obtained through the collection of fluorescence change after interaction with chiral AIE-active diamine.By virtue of AIE property and intermolecular acidbase interaction, enantioselective separation was facilely realized by simple filtration of the precipitates formed by chiral AIE luminogen(AIEgen)and one enantiomer in the racemic solution. The chiral HPLC data indicated that the precipitates of AIEgen/chiral acid possessed 82%L-analyte(the enantiomeric excess value was assessed to be 64%ee).Therefore,this method can serve as a simple, convenient, and low-cost tool for chiral detection and separation. | Chunxuan Qi Keyue Wei Qingyang Li Yuemei Li Xiaolong Su Jun-Cheng Yang Jingjing Tian Pu Chen Hai-Tao Feng Ben Zhong Tang | 2023 | Aggregate2023,4,3: | 0
Omicron variants breakthrough infection elicited higher specific memory immunity than third dose booster in healthy vaccinees显示文摘Homologous booster, heterologous booster, and Omicron variants breakthrough infection(OBI)could improve the humoral immunity against Omicron variants.Questions concerning about memory B cells(MBCs)and T cells immunity against Omicron variants, features of long-term immunity, after booster and OBI,needs to be explored. Here, comparative analysis demonstrate antibody and T cell immunity against ancestral strain,Delta and Omicron variants in Omicron breakthrough infected patients(OBIPs)are comparable to that in Ad5-nCoV boosted healthy volunteers(HVs),higher than that in inactivated vaccine(InV)boosted HVs.However, memory B cells(MBCs)immunity against Omicron variants was highest in OBIPs,followed by Ad5-nCoV boosted and InV boosted HVs.OBIPs and Ad5-nCoV boosted HVs have higher classical MBCs and activated MBCs,and lower naïve MBCs and atypical MBCs relative to both vaccine boosted HVs.Collectively, these data indicate Omicron breakthrough infection elicit higher MBCs and T cells against SARS-CoV-2 especially Omicron variants relative to homologous InV booster and heterologous Ad5-nCoV booster. | Pei Yu Zijian Liu Zhuoqi Zhu Jiaqing Yang Min Deng Mingxiao Chen Changchun Lai Weiya Kong Shilong Xiong Li Wan Weikang Mai Lu Chen Yu Lei Shahzad Akbar Khan Jianfeng Ruan An Kang Xuguang Guo Qiang Zhou Wenrui Li Zheng Chen Yuemei Liang Pingchao Li Lei Zhang Tianxing Ji | 2023 | Virologica Sinica2023,38,2: | 0
Diploid chromosome-level reference genome and population genomic analyses provide insights into Gypenoside biosynthesis and demographic evolution of Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Cucurbitaceae)显示文摘Gynostemma pentaphyllum(Thunb.)Makino is a perennial creeping herbaceous plant in the family Cucurbitaceae, which has great medicinal value and commercial potential, but urgent conservation efforts are needed due to the gradual decreases and fragmented distribution of its wild populations. Here,we report the high-quality diploid chromosome-level genome of G.pentaphyllum obtained using a combination of next-generation sequencing short reads,Nanopore long reads, and Hi-C sequencing technologies. The genome is anchored to 11 pseudo-chromosomes with a total size of 608.95 Mb and 26588 predicted genes.Comparative genomic analyses indicate that G.pentaphyllum is estimated to have diverged from Momordica charantia 60.7 million years ago, with no recent whole-genome duplication event.Genomic population analyses based on genotyping-by-sequencing and ecological niche analyses indicated low genetic diversity but a strong population structure within the species, which could classify 32 G.pentaphyllum populations into three geographical groups shaped jointly by geographic and climate factors.Furthermore, comparative transcriptome analyses showed that the genes encoding enzyme involved in gypenoside biosynthesis had higher expression levels in the leaves and tendrils.Overall, the findings obtained in this study provide an effective molecular basis for further studies of demographic genetics, ecological adaption, and systematic evolution in Cucurbitaceae species,as well as contributing to molecular breeding, and the biosynthesis and biotransformation of gypenoside. | Xiao Zhang Yuhe Zhao Yixuan Kou Xiaodan Chen Jia Yang Hao Zhang Zhe Zhao Yuemei Zhao Guifang Zhao Zhonghu Li | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,1: | 0
Intact regulation of G1/S transition renders esophageal squamous cell carcinoma sensitive to PI3Kαinhibitors显示文摘Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase alpha(PI3Kα)inhibitors are currently evaluated for the therapy of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).It is of great importance to identify potential biomarkers to predict or monitor the efficacy of PI3Kαinhibitors in an aim to improve the clinical responsive rate in ESCC.Here,ESCC PDXs with CCND1 amplification were found to be more sensitive to CYH33,a novel PI3Kα-selective inhibitor currently in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced solid tumors including ESCC.Elevated level of cyclin D1,p21 and Rb was found in CYH33-sensitive ESCC cells compared to those in resistant cells.CYH33 significantly arrested sensitive cells but not resistant cells at G1 phase, which was associated with accumulation of p21 and suppression of Rb phosphorylation by CDK4/6 and CDK2.Hypo-phosphorylation of Rb attenuated the transcriptional activation of SKP2 by E2F1,which in turn hindered SKP2-mediated degradation of p21 and reinforced accumulation of p21.Moreover,CDK4/6 inhibitors sensitized resistant ESCC cells and PDXs to CYH33.These findings provided mechanistic rationale to evaluate PI3Kαinhibitors in ESCC patients harboring amplified CCND1 and the combined regimen with CDK4/6 inhibitors in ESCC with proficient Rb. | Xu Zhang Yuxiang Wang Xi Zhang Yanyan Shen Kang Yang Qingyang Ma Yuemei Qiao Jiajie Shi Yi Wang Lan Xu Biyu Yang Gaoxiang Ge Landian Hu Xiangyin Kong Chunhao Yang Yi Chen Jian Ding Linghua Meng | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,5: | 0

Type IV collagen α5 chain promotes luminal breast cancer progression through c-Myc-driven glycolysis显示文摘Cancer cell metabolism reprogramming is one of the hallmarks of cancer.Cancer cells preferentially utilize aerobic glycolysis, which is regulated by activated oncogenes and the tumor microenvironment.Extracellular matrix(ECM)in the tumor microenvironment, including the basement membranes(BMs),is dynamically remodeled. However, whether and how ECM regulates tumor glycolysis is largely unknown. We show that type IV collagens, components of BMs essential for the tissue integrity and proper function, are differentially expressed in breast cancer subtypes thatα5 chain(α5(IV))is preferentially expressed in the luminal-type breast cancer and is regulated by estrogen receptor-α.α5(IV)is indispensable for luminal breast cancer development.Ablation ofα5(IV)significantly reduces the growth of luminal-type breast cancer cells and impedes the development of luminal-type breast cancer.Impaired cell growth and tumor development capability ofα5(IV)-ablated luminal breast cancer cells is attributed to the reduced expression of glucose transporter and glycolytic enzymes and impaired glycolysis in luminal breast cancer cells.Non-integrin collagen receptor discoidin domain receptor-1(DDR1)expression and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase activation are attenuated inα5(IV)-ablated luminal breast cancer cells, resulting in reduced c-Myc oncogene expression and phosphorylation.Ectopic expression of constitutively active DDR1 or c-Myc restores the expression of glucose transporter and glycolytic enzymes, and thereafter restores aerobic glycolysis, cell proliferation, and tumor growth of luminal breast cancer. Thus, type IV collagenα5 chain is a luminal-type breast cancer-specific microenvironmental regulator modulating cancer cell metabolism. | Yuexin Wu Xiangming Liu Yue Zhu Yuemei Qiao Yuan Gao Jianfeng Chen Gaoxiang Ge | 2022 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2022,14,10: | 0
