1Genome-wide Dissection of Co-selected UV-B Responsive Pathways in the UV-B Adaptation of Qingke显示文摘Qingke (Tibetan hulless barley) has long been cultivated and exposed to long-term and strong UV-B radiation on the Tibetan Plateau, which renders it an ideal species for elucidating novel UV-B responsive mechanisms in plants. Here we report a comprehensive metabolite profiling and metabolite-based genome-wide association study (mGWAS) using 196 diverse qingke and barley accessions. Our results demonstrated both constitutive and induced accumulation, and common genetic regulation, of metabolites from different branches of the phenylpropanoid pathway that are involved in UV-B protection. A total of 90 significant mGWAS loci for these metabolites were identified in barley-qingke differentiation regions, and a number of high-level metabolite trait alleles were found to be significantly enriched in qingke, suggesting co-selection of various phenylpropanoids. Upon dissecting the entire phenylpropanoid pathway, we identified some key determinants controlling natural variation of phenylpropanoid content, including three novel proteins, a flavone C-pentosyltransferase, a tyramine hydroxycinnamoyl acyltransferase, and a MYB transcription factor. 2Constructing a high-density linkage map for Gossypium hirsutum × Gossypium barbadense and identifying QTLs for lint percentage显示文摘To introgress the good fiber quality and yield from Gossypium barbadense into a commercial Upland cotton variety, a high-density simple sequence repeat(SSR) genetic linkage map was developed from a BC1F1 population of Gossypium hirsutum×Gossypium barbadense. The map comprised 2,292 loci and covered 5115.16 centi Morgan(c M) of the cotton AD genome, with an average marker interval of 2.23 c M. Of the marker order for 1,577 common loci on this new map, 90.36% agrees well with the marker order on the D genome sequence genetic map. Compared with five published high-density SSR genetic maps, 53.14% of marker loci were newly discovered in this map. Twenty-six quantitative trait loci(QTLs) for lint percentage(LP) were identified on nine chromosomes. Nine stable or common QTLs could be used for marker-assisted selection. Fifty percent of the QTLs were from G. barbadense and increased LP by 1.07%–2.41%. 3The applicability of biochar and zero-valent iron for the mitigation of arsenic and cadmium contamination in an alkaline paddy soil显示文摘In paddy fields, the opposing transformation of arsenic (As) and cadmium (Cd) poses many challenges for their simultaneous remediation.In our previous study,we reported that combined biochar and zero-valent iron(ZVI)amendment had great potential for the simultaneous alleviation of As and Cd bioavailability in contaminated acid paddy soil.In this study,an As-and Cd-contaminated alkaline paddy soil was further studied,and the same ZVI-biochar mixtures amendments were applied to evaluate the impact of the mixtures on As and Cd transformation and translocation in the soil-rice system by performing pot experiments with rice.In line with our previous study,the ZVI-biochar composites significantly reduced As and Cd accumulation in different rice tissues,leading to a 42%and 47%decrease in rice grain As and Cd levels,respectively,compared with the control values.The ZVI-biochar mixtures exhibited synergistic effects of biochar and ZVI by enhancing the transformation of bioavailable As and Cd fractions into less bioavailable fractions,and by increasing iron plaque formation to reduce As and Cd bioavailability.Although the bioaccumulation and translocation factors of As and Cd in alkaline paddy soil were generally lower than those in acid paddy soil,particularly in the presence of the ZVI-biochar mixtures,the grain As and Cd levels did not achieve the desired food safety standard levels,probably related to the high soil As content and the small changes in soil pH.Nevertheless,for treating lightly and moderately contaminated paddy soils,ZVI-biochar mixtures can still be a good choice in the future.Jiangtao Qiao Huanyun Yu Xiangqin Wang Fangbai Li Qi Wang Yuzhen Yuan Chuanping Liu 2019Biochar2019,1,2:5
4Description of a Marine Nematode Hopperia sinensis sp. nov.(Comesomatidae) from Mangrove Forests of Quanzhou, China, with a Pictorial Key to Hopperia Species显示文摘A new free-living marine nematode species Hopperia sinensis sp. nov. from mangrove forests of Fujian Province, China, is identified and illustrated. Hopperia sinensis sp. nov. is characterized by its cephalic setae 2.4–2.8 μm long or 17%–20% head diameter, and amphids of 2.25–2.5 turns. Lateral differentiation appears with larger, more irregularly distributed dots behind 3–5 transverse rows of dots posterior to amphid. Buccal cavity is consisted of a shallow and weakly sclerotized cup-shaped portion with strongly sclerotized walls of 18–21 μm deep. There are three sclerotized and size-equally pointed teeth at the junction between the two parts. Spicules of 41–45 μm long are slightly curved with broadband velum and central strips at the proximal end. The gubernacula, with apparent lateral guiding pieces, are formed by one central tubular piece that is weakly sclerotized with 11–16 μm long dorso-caudally directed apophyses. There are 13–14 fine tubular precloacal supplements. Conico-cylindrical tail gradually tapers till pointed tail tip. Female is similar to male, but have a longer body and tail. Ovaries are opposed and outstretched, with anterior ovary to the left and posterior ovary to the right of the intestine. 5A New K-Ary Crisp Decision Tree Induction with Continuous Valued Attributes显示文摘The simplicity and interpretability of decision tree induction makes it one of the more widely used machine learning methods for data classification.However,for continuous valued(real and integer) attribute data,there is room for further improvement in classification accuracy,complexity,and tree scale.We propose a new K-ary partition discretization method with no more than K –1 cut points based on Gaussian membership functions and the expected class number.A new K-ary crisp decision tree induction is also proposed for continuous valued attributes with a Gini index,combining the proposed discretization method.Experimental results and non-parametric statistical tests on 19 real-world datasets showed that the proposed algorithm outperforms four conventional approaches in terms of both classification accuracy,tree scale,and particularly tree depth.Considering the number of nodes,the proposed methods decision tree tends to be more balanced than in the other four methods.The complexity of the proposed algorithm was relatively low.SONG Yan YAO Shuang YU Donghua SHEN Yan HU Yuzhen 2017Chinese Journal of Electronics2017,26,5:3
6UPLC-Q-TOF/MS-based metabolomics reveals modulatory effects of Mesona chinensis Benth polysaccharide in liver injury mice induced by cyclophosphamide显示文摘The main purpose of this study was to investigate the improvement effect of Mesona chinensis Benth polysaccharide(MP)on cyclophosphamide(CTX)induced liver injury in mice.To explore metabolic profile of liver tissue and feces among normal group,CTX-induced group and MP management group based on metabolomics method by using UPLC-Q-TOF/MS.The results showed that MP could alleviate liver injury and promote the production of short chain fatty acids(SCFAs),with the best dose of 200 mg/kg·body weight(bw).The principal component analysis(PCA)and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis(OPLSDA)scores plots of the liver and feces samples showed a clear separation among normal,model and highdose of MP(MPH).There were 18 endogenous metabolites in liver and 29 endogenous metabolites in feces,which were mainly involved in 8 metabolic pathways:taurine and hypotaurine metabolism,phenylalanine metabolism,α-linolenic acid metabolism,tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle,phenylalanine,tyrosine and tryptophan biosynthesis,arachidonic acid metabolism,sphingolipid metabolism as well as tryptophan metabolism.Moreover,a common metabolite arachidonic acid was observed in liver and feces samples.These endogenous metabolites may be considered to be MP’s response to liver protection.It will help to further understand the mechanism of MP and provide a basis for further research.Yuzhen Hong Mingyue Shen Qiang Yu Yi Chen Jianhua Xie 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,2:2
7A Simplified Numerical Approach for the Prediction of Rainfall-Induced Retrogressive Landslides显示文摘Retrogressive landslides are common geological phenomena in mountainous areas and on onshore and offshore slopes. The impact of retrogressive landslides is different from that of other landslide types due to the phenomenon of retrogression. The hazards caused by retrogressive landslides may be increased because retrogressive landslides usually affect housing, facilities, and infrastructure located far from the original slopes. Additionally, substantial geomorphic evidence shows that the abundant supply of loose sediment in the source area of a debris flow is usually provided by retrogressive landslides that are triggered by the undercutting of water. Moreover, according to historic case studies, some large landslides are the evolution result of retrogressive landslides. Hence the ability to understand and predict the evolution of retrogressive landslides is crucial for the purpose of hazard mitigation. This paper discusses the phenomenon of a retrogressive landslide by using a model experiment and suggests a reasonably simplified numerical approach for the prediction of rainfall-induced retrogressive landslides. The simplified numerical approach, which combines the finite element method for seepage analysis, the shear strength reduction finite element method, and the analysis criterion for the retrogression and accumulation effect, is presented and used to predict the characteristics of a retrogressive landslide. The results show that this numerical approach is capable of reasonably predicting the characteristics of retrogressive landslides under rainfall infiltration, particularly the magnitude of each landslide, the position of the slip surface, and the development processes of the retrogressive landslide. 19Fast Zn^(2+)mobility enabled by sucrose modified Zn^(2+)solvation structure for dendrite-free aqueous zinc battery显示文摘Aqueous zinc battery has been regarded as one of the most promising energy storage systems due to its low cost and environmental benignity.However,the safety concern on Zn anodes caused by uncontrolled Zn dendrite growth in aqueous electrolyte hinders their application.Herein,sucrose with multi-hydroxyl groups has been introduced into aqueous electrolyte to modify Zn^(2+)solvation environment and create a protection layer on Zn anode,thus effectively retarding the growth of zinc dendrites.Atomistic simulations and experiments confirm that sucrose molecules can enter into the solvation sheath of Zn^(2+),and the as-formed unique solvation structure enhances the mobility of Zn^(2+).Such fast Zn^(2+)kinetics in sucrose-modified electrolyte can successfully suppress the dendrite growth.With this sucrose-modified aqueous electrolyte,Zn/Zn symmetric cells present more stable cycle performance than those using pure aqueous electrolyte;Zn/C cells also deliver an impressive higher energy density of 129.7 Wh·kg^(−1)and improved stability,suggesting a great potential application of sucrose-modified electrolytes for future Zn batteries.Yufang Cao Xiaohui Tang Linge Li Haifeng Tu Yuzhen Hu Yingying Yu Shuang Cheng Hongzhen Lin Liwen Zhang Jiangtao Di Yongyi Zhang Meinan Liu 2023Nano Research2023,16,3:0
20Developmental validation of the novel six-dye Goldeneye^(TM)DNA ID System 35InDel kit for forensic application显示文摘Insertion/deletion polymorphisms(InDels)have been treated as a prospective and helpful genetic marker in the fields of forensic human identification,anthropology and population genetics for the past few years.In this study,we developed a six-dye multiplex typing system consisting of 34 autosomal InDels and Amelogenin for forensic application.The contained InDels were specifically selected for Chinese population with the MAF≥0.25 in East Asia,which do not overlap with the markers of Investigator^(■)DIPplex kit.The typing system was named as GoldeneyeTM DNA ID System 35InDel Kit,and a series of developmental validation studies including repeatability/reproducibility,concordance,accuracy,sensitivity,stability,species specificity and population genetics were conducted on this kit.We confirmed that the 35InDel kit is precise,sensitive,species specific and robust for forensic practice.Moreover,the 35InDel kit is capable of typing DNA extracted from forensic routine case-type samples as well as degraded samples and mixture samples.All markers are proved to be highly polymorphic with an average observed heterozygosity(He)of 0.4582.The combined power of discrimination(CPD)is 0.999999999999978 and the combined power of exclusion in duos(CPE_(D))and trios(CPE_(T))are 0.978837 and 0.999573,respectively,which are higher than those of the Investigator^(■)DIPplex kit.Thus,the GoldeneyeTM DNA ID System 35InDel kit is suitable for forensic human identification and could serve as a supplementary typing system for paternity testing.Qi Yang Huan Yu Yiling Qu Xiaochun Zhang Ruocheng Xia Ziwei Wang Rui Tan Lei Xiong Shihan Xi Jun Wu Yuzhen Gao Suhua Zhang Chengtao Li 2022Forensic Sciences Research2022,7,4:0
