| 1 | Toward emerging gallium oxide semiconductors:A roadmap显示文摘Owing to the advantages of ultra-wide bandgap and rich material systems,gallium oxide(Ga_(2)O_(3))has emerged as a highly viable semiconductor material for new researches.This article mainly focuses on the growth processes,material characteristics,and applications of Ga_(2)O_(3).Compared with single crystals and the epitaxial growth of other wide-bandgap semiconductors,large-size and high-quality��-Ga_(2)O_(3) single crystals can be efficiently grown with a low cost,making them highly competitive.Thanks to the availability of high-quality single crystals,epi-taxial films,and rich material systems,high-performance semiconductor devices based on Ga_(2)O_(3) go through a booming development in recent years.The defects and interfaces of Ga_(2)O_(3) are comprehensively analyzed owing to their significant influence on practical applications.In this study,the two most common applications of Ga_(2)O_(3) materials are introduced.The high breakdown electric field,high working temperature,and excellent Baliga’s figure-of-merit of Ga_(2)O_(3) represent an inspiring prospect for power electronic devices.In addition,the excellent absorption in deep-ultraviolet band provides new ideas for optoelectronic detectors and ensures the dramatic progress.Finally,the summary,challenges,and prospects of the Ga_(2)O_(3) materials and devices are presented and discussed. | Yuan Yuan Weibing Hao Wenxiang Mu Zhengpeng Wang Xuanhu Chen Qi Liu Guangwei Xu Chenlu Wang Hong Zhou Yanni Zou Xiaolong Zhao Zhitai Jia Jiandong Ye Jincheng Zhang Shibing Long Xutang Tao Rong Zhang Yue Hao | 2021 | Fundamental Research2021,1,6: | 5 |
| 2 | Impact of immunization programs on 11 childhood vaccine-preventable diseases in China: 1950–2018显示文摘To evaluate the achievements of China’s immunization program between 1950 and 2018,we chose 11 vaccine-preventable diseases(VPDs)as representative notifiable diseases and used annual surveillance data obtained between 1950 and 2018 to derive disease incidence and mortality trends.Quasi-Poisson and polynomial regression models were used to estimate the impacts of specific vaccine programs,and life-table methods were used to calculate the loss of life expectancy,years of life lost,and loss of working years.The total notification number for the 11 VPDs was 211,866,000 from 1950 to 2018.The greatest number occurred in 1959,with a total incidence of 1,723 per million persons.From 1978 to 2018,a substantial decline was observed in the incidence of major infectious diseases.The incidence of pertussis fell 98%from 126.35 to 1.58 per million,and the incidences of measles,meningococcal meningitis,and Japanese encephalitis fell 99%,99%,and 98%,respectively.The regression models showed that most of the 11 diseases exhibited dramatic declines in morbidity after their integration into the Expanded Program on Immunization(EPI),while varicella and paratyphoid fever,which were not integrated into the EPI,showed increased morbidity.From 1978 to 2018,the total life expectancy for the 11 VPDs increased by 0.79 years,and similar results were obtained for different age groups.China has had great success in controlling VPDs in recent decades,and improving vaccination coverage is a key aspect of controlling VPDs in China. | Jinhua Pan Yesheng Wang Lingsheng Cao Ying Wang Qi Zhao Shenglan Tang Wenfeng Gong Lei Guo Zhixi Liu Zexuan Wen Bo Zheng Weibing Wang | 2021 | The Innovation2021,2,2: | 2 |
| 3 | Globalization of Tourism and Third World Tourism Development——A Political Economy Perspective显示文摘Globalization, which is characterized by the escalating mobility of capital, people, ideas and information on a universal scale, has become a sweeping theme in the contemporary world. Tourism and its associated economic activities are evidently not immune to such a wider context of the world economy. In the past one or two decades, a stable increase has been witnessed in international tourist flows, inter-regional and inter-organizational alliances, and foreign direct investment. These trends are especially prevalent in the developing world, largely because of their pristine nature, di- verse culture, inexpensive goods and services, cheap labours, and other resources. However, it has been cautioned by some scholars, especially those from the Third World countries, that tourism is an industry run by and for the rich, more powerful nations and their corresponding multinational corporations. This article, from the perspective of political economy, supplemented with views from development studies, made a normative analysis on the impacts of the glob- alization of tourism on the Third World destination countries. Specifically, these impacts have been detailed in terms of economic, sociocultural, and ecological domains. It was demonstrated that without appropriate planning and manage- ment, the costs of Third World tourism development may accrue to the extent that its benefits are burned out. | 15 | Channel power control in optical amplifiers to mitigate physical impairment in optical network显示文摘The signal quality degradation, which occurs due to the aspects of fiber attenuation, splitter switch,and amplified spontaneous noise in erbium-doped fiber amplifier, may substantially erode the performance of optical communications. Among the above-mentioned factors, the physical-layer impairments may significantly weaken the signal quality at the receiver. In this paper, the impact of both the channel power adjustment and the optical signal noise rate on the optimization of optical amplifiers over the optical propagation links is studied.Our objective is to employ a proper control strategy to effectively adjust the signal power level in the chain network. A new algorithm, which takes into account the physical-layer impairments in performance optimization,facilitates an impairment aware-proportional-integral-derivative neuron controller for improving the quality of transmission. | 17 | Impact of the national hepatitis B immunization program in China:a modeling study显示文摘Background:Elimination of hepatitis B virus(HBV)is a striking challenge for countries with high or moderate disease burden.Therefore,using China as a practical case to share experiences for similar countries may accelerate the achievement of the WHO 2030 target of 90%reduction in HBV-related incidence.We aim to evaluate the impact of national HBV immunization strategies in China;and the feasibility to achieve WHO 2030 targets under diferent scenarios.Methods:We constructed an expanded Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Recovered(SEIR)model and decision treeMarkov model to estimate the epidemic of HBV in China,assess the feasibility of 2030 Elimination Goals through the projections and conduct the economic analysis.Least square method was used to calibrate the expanded SEIR model by yearly data of laboratory-confrmed HBV cases from 1990 to 2018.Two models were separately used to evaluate the impact and cost-efectiveness of HBV vaccine by comparing prevalence of chronic HBV infections,qualityadjusted life-years(QALYs),incremental cost efectiveness ratio and beneft–cost ratio(BCR)under various intervention options,providing a basis for exploring new containment strategies.Results:Between 1990 and 2020,the number of chronic HBV infections decreased by 33.9%.The current status quo would lead to 55.73 million infections(3.95%prevalence)in 2030,compared to 90.63 million(6.42%prevalence)of the“Without the NIP”scenario(NIP:National Immunization Program),114.78 million(8.13%prevalence)without any interventions.The prevention of mother to child transmission(PMTCT)strategy showed a net beneft as 12,283.50 dollars per person,with BCR as 12.66,which is higher than that of universal vaccination at 9.49.Compared with no screening and no vaccination,the PMTCT strategy could save 7726.03 dollars for each QALY increase.Conclusions:Our fndings proved the HBV vaccination has demonstrated a substantial positive impact on controlling the epidemic of HBV in terms of efectiveness and economy after about 30 years of implementation of the national hepatitis B immunization program which also provided containment experience for high or medium burden countries.As for China,the next step should focus on exploring strategies to improve diagnosis and treatment coverage to reduce the burden of HBV-related deaths and ultimately eliminate HBV. | Zhixi Liu Mengying Li David W.Hutton Abram L.Wagner Ye Yao Wenlong Zhu Lingsheng Cao Shenglan Tang Jinhua Pan Yesheng Wang Qi Zhao Hong Ren Ying Wang Weibing Wang | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,5: | 0 |

| 20 | Transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis provides insights into lignin biosynthesis and accumulation and differences in lodging resistance in hybrid wheat显示文摘The use of hybrid wheat is one way to improve the yield in the future.However,greater plant heights increase lodging risk to some extent.In this study,two hybrid combinations with differences in lodging resistance were used to analyze the stem-related traits during the filling stage,and to investigate the mechanism of the difference in lodging resistance by analyzing lignin synthesis of the basal second internode(BSI).The stem-related traits such as the breaking strength,stem pole substantial degree(SPSD),and rind penetration strength(RPS),as well as the lignin content of the lodging-resistant combination(LRC),were significantly higher than those of the lodgingsensitive combination(LSC).The phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathway was significantly and simultaneously enriched according to the transcriptomics and metabolomics analysis at the later filling stage.A total of 35 critical regulatory genes involved in the phenylpropanoid pathway were identified.Moreover,42%of the identified genes were significantly and differentially expressed at the later grain-filling stage between the two combinations,among which more than 80%were strongly up-regulated at that stage in the LRC compared with LSC.On the contrary,the LRC displayed lower contents of lignin intermediate metabolites than the LSC.These results suggested that the key to the lodging resistance formation of LRC is largely the higher lignin synthesis at the later grain-filling stage.Finally,breeding strategies for synergistically improving plant height and lodging resistance of hybrid wheat were put forward by comparing the LRC with the conventional wheat applied in large areas. | Weibing Yang Shengquan Zhang Qiling Hou Jiangang Gao Hanxia Wang Xianchao Chen Xiangzheng Liao Fengting Zhang Changping Zhao Zhilie Qin | 2024 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2024,23,4: | 0 |
