2Arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism metasurfaces for all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers显示文摘The control of polarization,an essential property of light,is of broad scientific and technological interest.Polarizers are indispensable optical elements for direct polarization generation.However,arbitrary polarization generation,except that of common linear and circular polarization,relies heavily on bulky optical components such as cascading linear polarizers and waveplates.Here,we present an effective strategy for designing all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers based on perfect arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism and implement it in a monolayer all-dielectric metasurface.This strategy allows preferential transmission and conversion of one polarization state located at an arbitrary position on the Poincare sphere to its handedness-flipped state while completely blocking its orthogonal state.In contrast to previous methods that were limited to only linear or circular polarization,our method manifests perfect dichroism of nearly 100%in theory and greater than 90%experimentally for arbitrary polarization states.By leveraging this attractive dichroism,our demonstration of the generation of polarization beams located at an arbitrary position on a Poincare sphere directly from unpolarized light can substantially extend the scope of meta-optics and dramatically promote state-of-the-art nanophotonic devices.Shuai Wang Zi-Lan Deng Yujie Wang Qingbin Zhou Xiaolei Wang Yaoyu Cao Bai-Ou Guan Shumin Xiao Xiangping Li 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,2:6
3Adaptive dynamic surface control for air-breathing hypersonic vehicle显示文摘This paper describes an adaptive control approach for an air-breathing hypersonic vehicle.The control objective is to provide robust altitudes and velocity tracking in the presence of model uncertainties and varying disturbances.A fuzzy-neural disturbance observer is developed to estimate uncertainties and disturbances,and the adaptive controller is synthesized by the dynamic surface approach combing with the observer.The tracking error at the steady state can be guaranteed to converge to inside of a small residue set which the size of the set can be an arbitrary small value.Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented approach.Li Zhou Shumin Fei 2013Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2013,24,3:6

5Investigation and Assessment of Landslides and Debris Flows in Sichuan Province of China by Remote Sensing Technique显示文摘Taking TM images, ETM images, SPOT images, aerial photos and other remote sensing data as fundamental sources, this research makes a thorough investigation on landslides and debris flows in Sichuan Province, China, using the method of manual interpretation and taking topography maps as references after the processes of terrain correction, spectral matching, and image mosaic. And then, the spatial characteristics of landslides and debris flows in the year of 2005 are assessed and made into figures. The environmental factors which induce landslides and debris flows such as slope, vegetation coverage, lithology, rainfall and so on are obtained by GIS spatial analysis method. Finally, the rela- tionships of landslides or debris flows with some environmental factors are analyzed based on the grade of each envi- ronmental factor. The results indicate: 1) The landslides and debris flows are mainly in the eastern and southern area of Sichuan Province, however, there are few landslides and debris flows in the western particularly the northwestern Si- chuan. 2) The landslides and debris flows of Sichuan Province are mostly located in the regions with small slope degree. The occurring rate of debris flow reduces with the increase of the vegetation coverage degree, but the vegetation cov- erage degree has little to do with the occurrence of landslide. 9Northward Shift in Landfall Locations of Tropical Cyclones over the Western North Pacific during the Last Four Decades显示文摘This study analyzes landfall locations of tropical cyclones(TCs)over the western North Pacific during 1979–2018.Results demonstrate that the landfall locations of TCs over this region have shifted northward during the last four decades,primarily due to the shift of landfalling TC tracks,with the decreasing/increasing proportion of westward/northward TC tracks.In particular,the northward shift of the landfalling TCs was not related to their formation locations,which have not markedly changed,whereas'no-landed'TCs have significantly shifted northward.TC movement was significantly and positively correlated to the zonal component of the steering flow,while the correlation between TC movement and the meridional component of the steering flow was relatively unobvious.The westward steering flow in the tropical central Pacific that occurred around the formation and early development of the westward TCs was significantly weakened,which was unfavorable for their westward movement,thereby,causing the higher proportions of northward moving tracks.This weakened westward flow was related to the northward shift of the subtropical high ridge,which was caused by significant weakening of the southern part of the subtropical high.The vertical wind shear,sea surface temperature,and convective available potential energy also showed that the northern region of the western North Pacific became more favorable for TC development,whereas the upper divergence,low-layer relative vorticity,and accumulated water vapor content were not obviously related to the northward shift of TCs.Ting CHEN Shumin CHEN Mingsen ZHOU Chaoyong TU Aoqi ZHANG Yilun CHEN Weibiao LI 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,2:3
10The initiation and connection of vessel elements in Arabi-dopsis thaliana (Brassicaceae) seedlings显示文摘This research used confocal laser scanning mi-croscopy to examine the initiation and connection of vessel elements in Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh seedlings. The results indicated that vessel elements differentiated first in the lower portion of cotyledon-node zone (CNZ) 2 h after germination, and then extended downwards to the hypocotyl and root and upwardly to the middle portion of CNZ. 10 h after germination, vessel elements developed in the lower portion of cotyledon blade, the second initiating site, con-necting gradually with that initiated in cotyledon node and forming pinnate-marginal venation. The connection of vessel elements occurred between the upper portions of CNZ and epicotyl-shoot zone 7 d after germination. 11Energy Efficient Data Collection in Hierarchical Wireless Sensor Networks显示文摘The majority of the energy consumption by the sensors is the energy requirement for data transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs).Therefore,introducing mobile collectors to collect data instead of multi-hop data relay is essential.However,for many proposed data gathering approaches,long data delay is the main problem.Hence,the problem of how to decrease the energy consumption and the data delay needs to be solved.In this paper,a low delay data collection mechanism using multiple mobile collectors is proposed.First,a self-organization clustering algorithm is designed.Second,sensor nodes are organized into three-level clusters.Then a collection strategy based on the hierarchical structure is proposed,which includes two rules to dispatch mobile collectors rationally.Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism is superior to other existing approaches in terms of the reduction in energy expenditure and the decrease in data delay.Zhang Chun Fei Shumin Zhou Xingpeng 2012China Communications2012,9,9:2
12Impact of pre-oxidation on the formation of byproducts in algae-laden water disinfection:Insights from fluorescent and molecular weight显示文摘Pre-oxidation has been reported to be an effective way to remove algal cells in water, but the released algal organic matter (AOM) could be oxidized and lead to the increment in disinfection by-product (DBP) formation. The relationship between pre-oxidation and AOM-derived DBP formation needs to be approached more precisely. This study compared the impact of four pre-oxidants, ozone (O), chlorine dioxide (ClO), potassium permanganate(KMnO) and sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), on the formation of nitrogenous (N-) and carbonaceous (C-) DBPs in AOM chlorination. The characterization (fluorescent properties,molecular weight distribution and amino acids concentration) on AOM samples showed that the characterization properties variations after pre-oxidation were highly dependent on the oxidizing ability of oxidants. The disinfection experiments showed that Oincreased DBP formation most significantly, which was consistent with the result of characterization properties variations. Then canonical correspondent analysis (CCA) and Pearson’s correlation analysis were conducted based on the characterization data and DBP formation. CCA indicated that C-DBPs formation was highly dependent on fluorescent data. The formation of haloacetic acids (HAAs) had a positive correlation with aromatic protein-like component while trichloromethane (TCM) had a positive correlation with fulvic acid-like component.Pearson’s correlation analysis showed that low molecular weight fractions were favorable to form N-DBPs. 14Adaptive integral dynamic surface control based on fully tuned radial basis function neural network显示文摘An adaptive integral dynamic surface control approach based on fully tuned radial basis function neural network (FTRBFNN) is presented for a general class of strict-feedback nonlinear systems,which may possess a wide class of uncertainties that are not linearly parameterized and do not have any prior knowledge of the bounding functions.FTRBFNN is employed to approximate the uncertainty online,and a systematic framework for adaptive controller design is given by dynamic surface control. The control algorithm has two outstanding features,namely,the neural network regulates the weights,width and center of Gaussian function simultaneously,which ensures the control system has perfect ability of restraining different unknown uncertainties and the integral term of tracking error introduced in the control law can eliminate the static error of the closed loop system effectively. 15Systemic PCD occurs in TMV-tomato interaction显示文摘In hypersensitive response (HR), programmed cell death (PCD) is reported as a powerful defense mechanism in plant immune responses to pathogen. However, little is known about the PCD in sys-temic acquired resistance (SAR). Using tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) to infect the tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum cv. Jiafen 16) we found that localized TMV-infection could induce cell death in the uninoculated parts of the tomatoes, where the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) showed no spreading virus. The biological and molecular characterization of this cell death was shown as fol-lowing: chromatin condensed and formed peripheral conglomeration in nuclei; cell nucleus were TUNEL positive labeled; genomic DNA was fragmented and showed DNA laddering; mitochondria and chloroplast were disrupted; tonoplast and plasma membrane were shrunk and degradated. These re-sults suggested that with an absence of TMV spread, the local TMV-infection on certain tomato leaves could induce systemic PCD in the root-tips, stem-apices and uninoculated leaves. 17Anti-tumor responses to hypofractionated radiation in mice grafted with triple negative breast cancer is associated with decorin induction in peritumoral muscles显示文摘Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC)is the most lethal one for all types of breast cancer.Though radiotherapy is an efficient treatment,long-term survival rate of TNBC patients is still suboptimal. Hyprofractionated radiotherapy,an improved radiotherapy,has made an inspiring result in clinic. However,the mechanism underlying TNBC treated with hyprofractionated radiotherapy is not clear.Decorin (DCN)is a small poteoglycan of matrix which has an inhibitory effect on the breast cancer and is secreted by muscle under certain conditions.In this study,we demonstrated that peritumoral muscles secrete more DCN at higher dose irradiation than that at conventional irradiation dose in TNBC tumor-bearing mice.Thus,it indicates that DCN secreted from peritumoral muscle may be one of the reasons why hyprofractionated radiotherapy could inhibit the growth of TNBC more effectively.Moreover,we also indicated that the up-regulated DCN attenuated lung metastasis of TNBC.In conclusion,we demonstrated that hypofractionated radiation promotes the secretion of DCN in peritumoral muscle,thus enhancing the inhibitory effect on TNBC,which might help to optimize the strategy of radiotherapy for TNBC patients in the future.Qi Yu Kedao Xin Yu Miao Zhaobin Li Shen Fu Shudong Hu Qing Zhang Shumin Zhou 2018Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2018,50,11:1
18Optimizing pH-sensitive and time-dependent polymer formula of colonic pH-responsive pellets to achieve precise drug release显示文摘Time-sensitive and pH-dependent polymers are generally employed to prepare colon-site delivery system, and their coating thickness and order are very important in controlling the drug release. The traditional colon-site delivery systems consist of time-dependent polymers as inner layer and pH-sensitive polymers as outer layer. However, they suffer from low drug-loading rate and immature drug release. In this study, total alkaloids of sophora alopecuroides(TASA)-loaded pellets were prepared by extrusion-spheronization method and coated with Eudragit RS30D and Eudragit S100. Pellets using Eudragit RS30D as inner layer and Eudragit S100 as outer layer were named as ERS-ES100 TCO, while pellets with Eudragit S100 as inner layer and Eudragit RS30D as outer layer were ES100-ERS NCO. Both types of formulations with varying coating ratios and orders of Eudragit S100 and Eudragit RS30D were designed and prepared. The following in vitro drug release and SEM studies indicated that ERS-ES100 TCO(F2) with 12.8% Eudragit RS30D as inner layer and 21% Eudragit S100 as outer layer released up to 42% drug in 5 h. Interestingly, ES100-ERS NCO(F4) coated with 12.8% Eudragit S100 and 14.8% Eudragit RS30D showed optimal drug release in colon. In conclusion, ES100-ERS NCO colonic delivery system achieved reduced coating thickness and improved colonic targeting compared with traditional delivery system(ERS-ES100 TCO).
