1Measuring Similarity of Academic Articles with Semantic Profile and Joint Word Embedding显示文摘Long-document semantic measurement has great significance in many applications such as semantic searchs, plagiarism detection, and automatic technical surveys. However, research efforts have mainly focused on the semantic similarity of short texts. Document-level semantic measurement remains an open issue due to problems such as the omission of background knowledge and topic transition. In this paper, we propose a novel semantic matching method for long documents in the academic domain. To accurately represent the general meaning of an academic article, we construct a semantic profile in which key semantic elements such as the research purpose, methodology, and domain are included and enriched. As such, we can obtain the overall semantic similarity of two papers by computing the distance between their profiles. The distances between the concepts of two different semantic profiles are measured by word vectors. To improve the semantic representation quality of word vectors, we propose a joint word-embedding model for incorporating a domain-specific semantic relation constraint into the traditional context constraint. Our experimental results demonstrate that, in the measurement of document semantic similarity, our approach achieves substantial improvement over state-of-the-art methods, and our joint word-embedding model produces significantly better word representations than traditional word-embedding models.Ming Liu Bo Lang Zepeng Gu Ahmed Zeeshan 2017Tsinghua Science and Technology2017,22,6:9
2Investigating the impact of Glyoxal retrieval from MAX-DOAS observations during haze and non-haze conditions in Beijing显示文摘This study presents the Multi Axis Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy(MAXDOAS) measurements for Glyoxal(CHOCHO) in Beijing, China(39.95°N, 116.32°E). CHOCHO is the smallest compound of di-carbonyl group. As a primary sink of CHOCHO, its photolysis with NOx(oxides of nitrogen) results in the production of tropospheric ozone. Therefore,the focus of CHOCHO DOAS measurements is increasing in trend. We did the measurements from 09 May 2017 to 09 September 2017. The study was conducted to compare different retrieval settings in order to reveal best DOAS fit settings for CHOCHO;furthermore, effect of haze and non-haze days on CHOCHO concentration was examined.The root mean square of residual and Differential Slant Column density(dSCD) error was reduced when measurements were done with lower wavelength limit around 432–438 nm and upper intervals around 455–460 nm. Thus, lower wavelength intervals around432–438 nm and upper intervals around 457–460 nm were best for the retrieval of dSCDs for CHOCHO. Meteorological conditions like haze or non-haze days did not have significant effect on DOAS fit parameters. The CHOCHO vertical column densities range from 1.33 E +14 to 9.77 E + 14 molecules/cm2 during the study period with average of 6.16 E +14 molecules/cm2. The results indicated that during haze days CHOCHO concentration was higher because of lower rate of photolysis and atmospheric oxidation potential. 4Changes in Germination and Seedling Traits of Sesame under Simulated Drought显示文摘Drought is considered one of the leading abiotic constraints to agricultural crop production globally.Present study was conducted to assess the effects of different drought treatments(viz.Control,10%PEG,and 20%PEG)on seed germination,germination indices,seedling traits,and drought tolerance indices of sesame.Our results showed that maximum reduction in the studied parameters was observed at higher PEG concentration(i.e.,20%PEG).As compared to control,the drought treatments viz.10%and 20%PEG decreased the values for germination indices,such as germination percentage,coefficient of variation of germination time,germination index,and seedling vigor index.Similarly,for seedling traits,the values were decreased for root length,shoot length,root shoot ratio,root fresh weight,shoot fresh weight,root dry weight and shoot dry weight under 10%and 20%PEG treatments significantly in comparison with control.Furthermore,relative to control,the values for drought tolerance indices,such as germination drought tolerance index,root length drought tolerance index,shoot length drought tolerance index,total seedling length drought tolerance index,root fresh weight drought tolerance index,shoot fresh weight drought tolerance index,total fresh weight drought tolerance index,root dry weight drought tolerance index,shoot dry weight drought tolerance index and total dry weight drought tolerance index were also reduced under 10%and 20%PEG treatments,respectively.Our results confirms that drought impact on seed germination and seedling traits could be quantified by using different indices which can further help to design drought adaptation and mitigation strategies.Based on these results it can be concluded that germination indices,seedling traits,and drought tolerance indices have great potential to simulate drought stress impacts on different crop traits thus they should be used in all kinds of stress related studies.Mukhtar Ahmed Ahmed M.S.Kheir Muhammad Zeeshan Mehmood Shakeel Ahmad Mirza Hasanuzzaman 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,4:1
5Outcomes after stenting for malignant large bowel obstruction without radiologist support显示文摘AIM:To assess outcomes after colonic stent insertion for obstructing colorectal malignancies performed by an endoscopist without radiologist support.METHODS:This is a retrospective study of all stents inserted by a single surgeon in a District General Hospital over an eight year period.All stents were inserted for patients with acute large bowel obstruction secondary to a malignant colorectal pathology either for palliation or as a bridge to surgery.Procedures were performed by a single surgeon endoscopically with fluoroscopic control in the X-ray department but withoutthe support of an interventional radiologist.Data was collected prospectively on a pre-designed database.RESULTS:The indication for all stent procedures was an obstructing colorectal malignancy.Out of 53patients,the overall success rate was 90.6%.Eight patients had a stent intended as a bridge to surgery and 45 as a palliative procedure.Technical success was achieved in 50 out of 53 procedures(94.3%)and clinical success in 48 of those remaining 50(96.0%).Those with unsuccessful technical or clinical procedures went on to have defunctioning stomas to treat their obstruction.There were six complications from the technically successful stents(12.0%).These included one migration,one persisting obstructive symptoms and four cases of tumour overgrowth of the stents at a later date.Haemorrhagic complications,perforation or mortality were not observed in our series.Our results are comparable to several other studies assessing stent outcomes for obstructing bowel cancer.CONCLUSION:Our data suggests that colorectal stents can be inserted without radiologist support by an adequately trained individual with good outcomes.Rao Khalid Mehmood Jody Parker Patricia Kirkbride Shakil Ahmed Fayyaz Akbar Eays Qasem Muhammad Zeeshan Ernest Jehangir 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,20:1

8Countrywide Survey for MERS-Coronavirus Antibodies in Dromedaries and Humans in Pakistan显示文摘Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) is a zoonotic pathogen capable of causing severe respiratory disease in humans. Although dromedary camels are considered as a major reservoir host, the MERS-CoV infection dynamics in camels are not fully understood. Through surveillance in Pakistan, nasal (n = 776) and serum (n = 1050)samples were collected from camels between November 2015 and February 2018. Samples were collected from animal markets, free-roaming herds and abattoirs. An in-house ELISA was developed to detect IgG against MERS-CoV. A total of 794 camels were found seropositive for MERS-CoV. Prevalence increased with the age and the highest seroprevalence was recorded in camels aged [ 10 years (81.37%) followed by those aged 3.1–10 years (78.65%) and B 3 years (58.19%).Higher prevalence was observed in female (78.13%) as compared to male (70.70%). Of the camel nasal swabs, 22 were found to be positive by RT-qPCR though with high Ct values. Moreover, 2,409 human serum samples were also collected from four provinces of Pakistan during 2016–2017. 12Factors Hindering Pakistani Farmers' Choices Towards Adoption of Crop Insurance显示文摘This study was conducted to analyze the factors that negatively influence Pakistani farmers' willingness to participate in crop insurance. Probit model was applied to identify the significant factors which influenced our dependent variable 'not willing to participate'. The results of the analyses showed that crop insurance premium was the most influencing factor which had positive and significant impact on dependent variable. Similarly dissatisfaction with crop loan insurance scheme, lacking of knowledge about crop insurance, believing of being against Islamic rules and time taking process was also found to be positive and significantly influenced the dependent variable. 16Thermal optimization of MHD nanofluid over a wedge by using response surface methodology:Sensitivity analysis显示文摘It is well documented that heat transfer is enhanced with addition of nanosized particles in fluid.But,in a mechanical system there are variety of factors influences the heat transfer.Some factors are significant while others are not.In this paper,authors will discuss sensitivity of different input parameters such as Le,Nt and Nb on output responses��Nu_(x)and Sh_(x).To achieve this goal,the problem is modeled using basic conservation laws.The formulated model is a set of PDEs,which are converted to set of non-linear ODEs by using similarity transformation.Then these ODEs are solved numerically by using MATLAB built in package bvp4c and compared the numerical results with existing work and found good results.Sensitivity analysis is performed by employing RSM to determine the relationship between the input parameters such that 0.1≤Le≤1,0.1≤Nt≤1 and 0.1≤Nb≤1 and the output responses(Nu_(x)and Sh_(x)).ANOVA tables are generated by using RSM.By using the ANOVA tables the correlations between input parameters and output response are developed.To check the validity of correlated equations,the residuals are plotted graphically and show best correlations between input parameters and output responses.The high values of R^(2)=98.65 and AdjR^(2)=97.43 for Nu_(x)and R^(2)=97.83 and AdjR^(2)=95.88 for Sh_(x)demonstrates the high validity of ANOVA results to perform sensitivity analysis.Finally,we have conducted a sensitivity analysis of the responses and came to the important results that Nt and Nb is most sensitive to Nusselt number and Sherwood number respectively.Ahmed Zeeshan Dilawar Hussain Zaheer Asghar Muhammad Mubashir Bhatti Faisal Z.Duraihem 2023Propulsion and Power Research2023,12,4:0
17Facile synthesis of ironenickelecobalt ternary oxide(FNCO)mesoporous nanowires as electrode material for supercapacitor application显示文摘Transition Metal Oxides have drawn significant attention due to their reversible chemical redox reaction and long-life stability.Inexorable agglomeration and shrinkage/expansion of transition metal oxides in the nanosize regime have a noticeable effect on their electrochemical properties.Here in this work,mesoporous nanowires(NWs)with a typical composition of iron-nickel-cobalt ternary oxide(FNCO)are synthesized using a simple,facile and cost-effective hydrothermal process followed by furnace annealing.These NWs are then extensively investigated as an electrode material for supercapacitor application.To compare the electrochemical properties,nanowires of nickel-cobalt oxide(NCO),iron-cobalt oxide(FCO)and cobalt oxide(CO)were also produced by following the same protocol.The FNCO NWs are found to overcome the shortcomings in the electrochemical energy storage devices by exhibiting higher values of specific capacitance(2197 Fg^(-1))and energy density(109 Whkg^(-1))at 1 Ag^(-1) current rate.Moreover,the FNCO NWs also showed a cyclic charge/discharge stability of 96%even up to 20,000 cycles.Furthermore,a FNCO//graphene asymmetric device,fabricated with FNCO NWs and graphene as positive and negative electrodes,respectively,which exhibit high energy density(47 Whkg^(-1)),power density(375 Wkg^(-1))and excellent capacitance retention(86%)after 15,000 cycles.Muhammad Usman Muhammad Tayyab Ahsan Sofia Javed Zeeshan Ali Yiqiang Zhan Irfan Ahmed Sajid Butt Mohammad Islam Asif Mahmood M.Aftab Akram 2022Journal of Materiomics2022,8,1:0
18Determination of the heavy metal content of Entoban herbal medicinal product显示文摘The levels of As, Cd, Pb and Hg were investigated in the medicinal herbal syrup Entoban, which is widely used in the management of non-specific diarrhea and acute intestinal infections of various etiologies. The ingredients in Entoban syrup include 6 potent herbal drugs: Aegle marmelose, Berberis aristata, Butea frondosa, Holarrhena antidysenterica, Myrtus communis, and Quercus infectoria. Entoban medicinal plant syrup was analyzed for As, Cd, Pb and Hg by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy(FAAS). Contents of heavy metals in the examined samples were in the range: As(0.074–10.0 ppm); Cd(0.020–0.3 ppm); Pb(0.00–10.0 ppm) and Hg(0.00–1.0 ppm). Results were compared with permissible limit acceptability intake(AHPA). 19Reactive Dyeing of Electrospun Cellulose Nanofibers by Pad-steam Method显示文摘Based on the functional properties of electrospun cellulose nanofibers(CNF),scientists are showing substantial interest to enhance the aesthetic properties.However,the lower color yield has remained a big challenge due to the higher surface area of nanofibers.In this study,we attempted to improve the color yield properties of CNF by the pad-steam dyeing method.Neat CNF was obtained by deacetylation of electrospun cellulose acetate(CA)nanofibers.Three different kinds of reactive dyes were used and pad-steam dyeing parameters were optimized.SEM images revealed smooth morphology with an increase in the average diameter of nanofibers.FTIR results showed no change in the chemical structure after dyeing of CNF.Color fastness results demonstrated excellent ratings for reactive dyes,which indicate good dye fixation properties and no color loss during the washing process.The results confirm that the pad-steam dyeing method can be potentially considered to improve the aesthetic properties of CNF,which can be utilized for functional garments,such as breathable raincoats and disposable face masks.Winges FATIMA Muhammad TARIQUE LI Min CHEN Mingyi Muzamil KHATRI Muhammad Nauman SARWAR Icksoo KIM Farooq AHMED Zeeshan KHATRI CHEN Rouxi WEI Kai 2021Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2021,37,3:0
20A qualitative exploration of Pakistan’s street children, as a consequence of the poverty-disease cycle显示文摘Background:Street children are a global phenomenon,with an estimated population of around 150 million across the world.These children include those who work on the streets but retain their family contacts,and also those who practically live on the streets and have no or limited family contacts.In Pakistan,many children are forced to work on the streets due to health-related events occurring at home which require children to play a financially productive role from an early stage.An explanatory framework adapted from the poverty-disease cycle has been used to elaborate these findings.Methods:This study is a qualitative study,and involved 19 in-depth interviews and two key informant interviews,conducted in Rawalpindi,Pakistan,from February to May 2013.The data was audio taped and transcribed.Key themes were identified and built upon.The respondents were contacted through a gatekeeper ex-street child who was a member of the street children community.Results:We asked the children to describe their life stories.These stories led us to the finding that street children are always forced to attain altered social roles because health-related problems,poverty,and large family sizes leave them no choice but to enter the workforce and earn their way.We also gathered information regarding high-risk practices and increased risks of sexual and substance abuse,based on the street children’s increased exposure.These children face the issue of social exclusion because diseases and poverty push them into a life full of risks and hazards;a life which also confines their social role in the future.Conclusion:The street child community in Pakistan is on the rise.These children are excluded from mainstream society,and the absence of access to education and vocational skills reduces their future opportunities.Keeping in mind the implications of health-related events on these children,robust inter-sectoral interventions are required.Muhammad Ahmed Abdullah Zeeshan Basharat Omairulhaq Lodhi Muhammad Hisham Khan Wazir Hameeda Tayyab Khan Nargis Yousaf Sattar Adnan Zahid 2014Infectious Diseases of Poverty2014,3,1:0
