1Whole-genome sequencing of 508 patients identifies key molecular features associated with poor prognosis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is a poor-prognosis cancer type with limited understanding of its molecular etiology.Using 508 ESCC genomes,we identified five novel significantly mutated genes and uncovered mutational signature clusters associated with metastasis and patients’outcomes.Several functional assays implicated that NFE2L2 may act as a tumor suppressor in ESCC and that mutations in NFE2L2 probably impaired its tumor-suppressive function,or even conferred oncogenic activities.Additionally,we found that the NFE2L2 mutations were significantly associated with worse prognosis of ESCC.We also identified potential noncoding driver mutations including hotspot mutations in the promoter region of SLC35E2 that were correlated with worse survival.Approximately 5.9%and 15.2%of patients had high tumor mutation burden or actionable mutations,respectively,and may benefit from immunotherapy or targeted therapies.We found clinically relevant coding and noncoding genomic alterations and revealed three major subtypes that robustly predicted patients’outcomes.Collectively,we report the largest dataset of genomic profiling of ESCC useful for developing ESCC-specific biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment.Yongping Cui Hongyan Chen Ruibin Xi Heyang Cui Yahui Zhao Enwei Xu Ting Yan Xiaomei Lu Furong Huang Pengzhou Kong Yang Li Xiaolin Zhu Jiawei Wang Wenjie Zhu Jie Wang Yanchun Ma Yong Zhou Shiping Guo Ling Zhang Yiqian Liu Bin Wang Yanfeng Xi Ruifang Sun Xiao Yu Yuanfang Zhai Fang Wang Jian Yang Bin Yang Caixia Cheng Jing Liu Bin Song Hongyi Li Yi Wang Yingchun Zhang Xiaolong Cheng Qimin Zhan Yanhong Li Zhihua Liu-Show 2020Cell Research2020,30,10:19
2The Assessment of Global Surface Temperature Change from 1850s:The C-LSAT2.0 Ensemble and the CMST-Interim Datasets显示文摘Based on C-LSAT2.0,using high-and low-frequency components reconstruction methods,combined with observation constraint masking,a reconstructed C-LSAT2.0 with 756 ensemble members from the 1850s to 2018 has been developed.These ensemble versions have been merged with the ERSSTv5 ensemble dataset,and an upgraded version of the CMSTInterim dataset with 5°×5°resolution has been developed.The CMST-Interim dataset has significantly improved the coverage rate of global surface temperature data.After reconstruction,the data coverage before 1950 increased from 78%−81%of the original CMST to 81%−89%.The total coverage after 1955 reached about 93%,including more than 98%in the Northern Hemisphere and 81%−89%in the Southern Hemisphere.Through the reconstruction ensemble experiments with different parameters,a good basis is provided for more systematic uncertainty assessment of C-LSAT2.0 and CMSTInterim.In comparison with the original CMST,the global mean surface temperatures are estimated to be cooler in the second half of 19th century and warmer during the 21st century,which shows that the global warming trend is further amplified.The global warming trends are updated from 0.085±0.004℃(10 yr)^(–1)and 0.128±0.006℃(10 yr)^(–1)to 0.089±0.004℃(10 yr)^(–1)and 0.137±0.007℃(10 yr)^(–1),respectively,since the start and the second half of 20th century.Wenbin SUN Qingxiang LI Boyin HUANG Jiayi CHENG Zhaoyang SONG Haiyan LI Wenjie DONG Panmao ZHAI Phil JONES 2021Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,5:8

4A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 5Blocking of the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction by a novel cyclic peptide inhibitor for cancer immunotherapy显示文摘The interaction of PD-1/PD-L1 allows tumor cells to escape from immune surveillance.Clinical success of the antibody drugs has proven that blockade of PD-1/PD-L1 pathway is a promising strategy for cancer immunotherapy.Here,we developed a cyclic peptide C8 by using Ph.D.-C7 C phage display technology.C8 showed high binding affinity with h PD-1 and could effectively interfere the interaction of PD-1/PD-L1.Furthermore,C8 could stimulate CD8^(+)T cell activation in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs).We also observed that C8 could suppress tumor growth in CT26 and B16-OVA,as well as anti-PD-1 antibody resistant B16 mouse model.CD8^(+)T cells infiltration significantly increased in tumor microenvironment,and IFN-γsecretion by CD8^(+)T cells in draining lymph nodes also increased.Simultaneously,we exploited T cells depletion models and confirmed that C8 exerted anti-tumor effects via activating CD8^(+)T cells dependent manner.The interaction model of C8 with h PD-1 was simulated and confirmed by alanine scanning.In conclusion,C8 shows anti-tumor capability by blockade of PD-1/PD-L1 interaction,and C8 may provide an alternative candidate for cancer immunotherapy.Wenjie Zhai Xiuman Zhou Mingxia Zhai Wanqiong Li Yunhui Ran Yixuan Sun Jiangfeng Du Wenshan Zhao Lingxiao Xing Yuanming Qi Yanfeng Gao 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,4:5
6Whole Genome Analyses of Chinese Population and De Novo Assembly of A Northern Han Genome显示文摘To unravel the genetic mechanisms of disease and physiological traits,it requires comprehensive sequencing analysis of large sample size in Chinese populations.Here,we report the primary results of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Precision Medicine Initiative(CASPMI)project launched by the Chinese Academy of Sciences,including the de novo assembly of a northern Han reference genome(NH1.0)and whole genome analyses of 597 healthy people coming from most areas in China.Given the two existing reference genomes for Han Chinese(YH and HX1)were both from the south,we constructed NH1.0,a new reference genome from a northern individual,by combining the sequencing strategies of PacBio,10×Genomics,and Bionano mapping.Using this integrated approach,we obtained an N50 scaffold size of 46.63 Mb for the NH1.0 genome and performed a comparative genome analysis of NH1.0 with YH and HX1.In order to generate a genomic variation map of Chinese populations,we performed the whole-genome sequencing of 597 participants and identified 24.85 million(M)single nucleotide variants(SNVs),3.85 M small indels,and 106,382 structural variations.In the association analysis with collected phenotypes,we found that the T allele of rs1549293 in KAT8 significantly correlated with the waist circumference in northern Han males.Moreover,significant genetic diversity in MTHFR,TCN2,FADS1,and FADS2,which associate with circulating folate,vitamin B12,or lipid metabolism,was observed between northerners and southerners.Especially,for the homocysteine-increasing allele of rs1801133(MTHFR 677T),we hypothesize that there exists a “comfort”zone for a high frequency of 677T between latitudes of 35–45 degree North.Taken together,our results provide a high-quality northern Han reference genome and novel population-specific data sets of genetic variants for use in the personalized and precision medicine.Zhenglin Du Liang Ma Hongzhu Qu Wei Chen Bing Zhang Xi Lu Weibo Zhai Xin Sheng Yongqiao Sun Wenjie Li Meng Lei Qiuhui Qi Na Yuan Shuo Shi Jingyao Zeng Jinyue Wang Yadong Yang Qi Liu Yaqiang Hong Lili Dong Zhewen Zhang Dong Zou Yanqing Wang Shuhui Song Fan Liu Xiangdong Fang Hua Chen Xin Liu Jingfa Xiao Changqing Zeng 2019Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2019,17,3:4

15Epidemiological Characteristics of Human Rabies——Shandong Province,China,2010-2020显示文摘Introduction:Rabies is a viral zoonotic disease that causes progressive and fatal inflammation in the brain.Rabies has caused more than 5,000 human deaths in Shandong Province since 1955.This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of human rabies in Shandong Province from 2010 to 2020 and to provide a scientific basis for policy changes.Methods:The data of reported human rabies cases from 2010 to 2020 were obtained from China’s National Notifiable Disease Reporting System,and data related to exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis(PEP)of the cases were acquired through case investigation.Results:A total of 414 human rabies cases were reported in Shandong Province from 2010 to 2020.Out of the 414 total cases,87.20%were primarily farmers;83.10%were over 40 years old.70.29%(265/377)belonged to categoryⅢexposure;and 96.67%(377/390)were exposed to the virus through infected dogs.The vaccine inoculation rate of these cases after exposure was only 8.85%;1.03%(4/390)had been vaccinated with rabies immunoglobulin,developing the disease 11 to 13 days after categoryⅢexposure.Conclusions:Dogs were still the primary animal hosts.Most rabies patients died due to no or inadequate post-exposure prophylaxis.Vaccine inoculation rates for dogs should reach the target of 70%as soon as possible.Health departments should improve the accessibility and quality of PEP;and improve the health literacy of the elderly in rural areas.Xiaomei Zhang Xueying Tian Bo Pang Zhiqiang Wang Wenji Zhai Xiaolin Jiang Zengqiang Kou Shujun Ding Xianjun Wang 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,35:1
16Rapid Degrading Carbamazepine in a Novel Advanced Oxidation Process of Bisulfite Activated by Lithium Cobaltate Recovered from Spent Lithium-ion Battery显示文摘Maximizing the sustainable recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)shows economic and environmental significance.This study recovered lithium cobaltate(LiCoO_(2),LCO)from spent LIBs cathode powder.The recovered LCO was then combined with NaHSO_(3)to remove refractory organic pollutants of carbamazepine(CBZ)in water.The degradation of CBZ reached 80.0%within 60 min,by 1O_(2),SO_(4),OH and O_(2)^(-)generated in the LCO/NaHSO_(3)reaction.The electron transfer between Co(III)and Co(II)was beneficial to the generation of free radicals.The LCO/NaHSO_(3)degraded CBZ effectively in both secondary outlet water and tap water.However,high concentrations of inorganic ions(Cl^(−),HCO_(3)^(-),HPO_(4)^(2-),SO_(2)−4,NO_(3)^(-))and natural organic matter(humic acid,HA)could inhibit the degradation of CBZ.After three cycles,the stability of the LCO/NaHSO_(3)system was demonstrated by the maintained high efficiency in the degradation of CBZ.The obtained data indicate that the LCO/NaHSO_(3)system holds great application potential in the field of advanced oxidation degradation of pollutants.Yan Jiali Yang Kaiying Wang Xi Zhai Jinli Zhu Wenjie Yang Daoli Luo Yongming Gao Xiaoya 2024Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2024,40,1:0

18Analysis of black soil compaction with driver-agricultural machinery-soil system under corn sowing with high-power tractor in Northeast China显示文摘Soil compaction leads to crop yield reduction in Northeast of China.The interaction mechanism of driveragricultural machinery-black soil is not clear.A comprehensive field experiment of 4 hm2 of maize seeding was carried out in Baiquan County Cooperative.The results showed that the average increase rates of soil compaction before and after sowing were 118.82%and 71.02%.The SEM showed that waist fatigue had the greatest impact on soil compaction,and the unit fatigue of waist caused 1.51 and 1.27 unit compactions to the soil at the depths of 10 cm and 20 cm.The neck,waist,arm and leg fatigue of drivers increased the surface soil compaction by 1.83,1.76,1.78 and 1.55 units,and the deep soil compaction by 1.65,1.58,1.60 and 1.40 units.The results can provide a reference for the integration of human factor efficiency and conservation tillage.Xiao Yang Zhiqiang Zhai Weijie Guo Wenjie Li Minli Yang Zhenghe Song 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,4:0
19Trade-offs between the accumulation of cuticular wax and jasmonic acid-mediated herbivory resistance in maize显示文摘Plants have evolved complex physical and chemical defense systems that allow them to withstand herbivory infestation.Composed of a complex mixture of very-long-chain fatty acids(VLCFAs)and their derivatives,cuticular wax constitutes the first physical line of defense against herbivores.Here,we report the function of Glossy 8(ZmGL8),which encodes a 3-ketoacyl reductase belonging to the fatty acid elongase complex,in orchestrating wax production and jasmonic acid(JA)-mediated defenses against herbivores in maize(Zea mays).The mutation of GL8 enhanced chemical defenses by activating the JA-dependent pathway.We observed a trade-off between wax accumulation and JA levels across maize glossy mutants and 24 globally collected maize inbred lines.In addition,we demonstrated that mutants defective in cuticular wax biosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana and maize exhibit enhanced chemical defenses.Comprehensive transcriptomic and lipidomic analyses indicated that the gl8 mutant confers chemical resistance to herbivores by remodeling VLCFA-related lipid metabolism and subsequent JA biosynthesis and signaling.These results suggest that VLCFA-related lipid metabolism has a critical role in regulating the trade-offs between cuticular wax and JA-mediated chemical defenses.Jiong Liu Lu Li Zhilong Xiong Christelle AMRobert Baozhu Li Shan He Wenjie Chen Jiasheng Bi Guanqing Zhai Siyi Guo Hui Zhang Jieping Li Shutang Zhou Xi Zhang Chun‐Peng Song 2024Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2024,66,1:0
20Effects of Electric Potentials on Tribological Properties of SiC/HT200 Pairs in NaOH Solutions显示文摘On a self-developed circular-translation polishing machine,the influence of different electric potentials on the friction coefficient and wear properties of SiC/HT200 friction pair,which contacted as one electrode,were studied in NaOH solutions.The results show that the friction coefficient of SiC/HT200 pair is 0.25 under no externally applied potential;but it decreases to 0.23 while applying +3 V polarization potential on the pair;in contrast,it increases to 0.30 when applying-3 V polarization potential on the pair.And the polished SiC surface under + 3 V potential is much smoother,while there are clear ploughing marks and adhesive region on the polished SiC surface under zero and-3 V potential,respectively.The mixed triboelectrochemical friction model has been proposed and the mechanisms of the electric effects on the tribological properties of SiC/HT200 friction pair in NaOH electrolyte are addressed.Results and discussion show that the anodic passivation technique may be used for hastening the running-in process of SiC/Fe friction pairs,as well as for polishing SiC to increase its materials removal efficiency while maintaining good surface quality.Pengfei Fan Wenjie Zhai Xiaoxu Zhang 2016Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology(New Series)2016,23,3:0
