1Supersonic flow imaging via nanoparticles显示文摘Due to influence of compressibility,shock wave,instabilities,and turbulence on supersonic flows, current flow visualization and imaging techniques encounter some problems in high spatiotemporal resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)measurements.Therefore,nanoparticle based planar laser scattering method(NPLS)is developed here.The nanoparticles are used as tracer,and pulse planar laser is used as light source in NPLS;by recording images of particles in flow field with CCD, high spatiotemporal resolution supersonic flow imaging is realized.The flow-following ability of nanoparticles in supersonic flows is studied according to multiphase flow theory and calibrating experiment of oblique shock wave.The laser scattering characteristics of nanoparticles are analyzed with light scattering theory.The results of theoretical and experimental studies show that the dynamic behavior and light scattering characteristics of nanoparticles highly enhance the spatiotemporal resolution and SNR of NPLS,with which the flow field involving shock wave,expansion,Mach disk,boundary layer,sliding-line,and mixing layer can be imaged clearly at high spatiotemporal resolution.ZHAO YuXin YI ShiHe TIAN LiFeng CHENG ZhongYu 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,12:31
2Behaviors and kinetics of toluene adsorption-desorption on activated carbons with varying pore structure显示文摘This work was undertaken to investigate the behaviors and kinetics of toluene adsorption and desorption on activated carbons with varying pore structure. Five kinds of activated carbon from different raw materials were selected. Adsorption isotherms and breakthrough curves for toluene were measured. Langmuir and Freundlich equations were fitted to the equilibrium data, and the Freundlich equation was more suitable for simulating toluene adsorption. The process consisted of monolayer, multilayer and partial active site adsorption types. The effect of the pore structure of the activated carbons on toluene adsorption capacity was investigated. The quasi-first-order model was more suitable for describing the process than the quasi-second-order model. The adsorption data was also modeled by the internal particle diffusion model and it was found that the adsorption process could be divided into three stages. In the external surface adsorption process, the rate depended on the specific surface area. During the particle diffusion stage, pore structure and volume were the main factors affecting adsorption rate. In the final equilibrium stage, the rate was determined by the ratio of meso-and macro-pores to total pore volume. The rate over the whole adsorption process was dominated by the toluene concentration. The desorption behavior of toluene on activated carbons was investigated,and the process was divided into heat and mass transfer parts corresponding to emission and diffusion mechanisms, respectively. 3pORF5 plasmid protein of Chlamydia trachomatis induces MAPK-mediated pro-inflammatory cytokines via TLR2 activation in THP-1 cells显示文摘Infection with Chlamydia trachomatis induces inflammatory pathologies in the urogenital tract that can lead to infertility and ectopic pregnancy.Pathogenesis of infection has been mostly attributed to excessive cytokine production.However,precise mechanisms on how C.trachomatis triggers this production,and which protein(s) stimulate inflammatory cytokines remains unknown.In the present study,the C.trachomatis pORF5 protein induced tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β) and interleukin-8(IL-8) in dose-and time-dependent manners in the THP-1 human monocyte cell line.We found that intracellular p38/mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)/MAPK signaling pathways were required for the induction of TNF-α,IL-1β and IL-8.Blockade of toll-like receptor 2(TLR2) signaling reduced induction levels of TNF-α,IL-8 and IL-1β.We concluded that the C.trachomatis pORF5 protein might contribute to the inflammatory processes associated with chlamydial infections.ZHOU Hui HUANG QiuLin LI ZhongYu WU YiMou XIE XiaoBing MA KangKang CAO WenJuan ZHOU Zhou LU ChunXue ZHONG GuangMing 2013Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,5:26
4The fractal measurement of experimental images of supersonic turbulent mixing layer显示文摘Flow visualization of supersonic mixing layer has been studied based on the high spatiotemporal resolution Nano-based Planar Laser Scattering(NPLS) method in SML-1 wind tunnel. The corresponding images distinctly reproduced the flow structure of laminar,transitional and turbulent region,with which the fractal measurement can be implemented. Two methods of measuring fractal dimension were introduced and compared. The fractal dimension of the transitional region and the fully developing turbulence region of supersonic mixing layer were measured based on the box-counting method. In the transitional region,the fractal dimension will increase with turbulent intensity. 5The experimental study of interaction between shock wave and turbulence显示文摘The interaction between shock wave and turbulence has been studied in supersonic turbulent mix layer wind tunnel. The interaction between oblique shock wave and turbulent boundary layer and the influence of large vortex in mix layer on oblique shock wave have been observed by NPLS technique. From NPLS image, not only complex flow structure is observed but also time-dependent supersonic flow visualization is realized. 6Study of density field measurement based on NPLS technique in supersonic flow显示文摘Due to the influence of shock wave and turbulence, supersonic density field exhibits strongly inhomogeneous and unsteady characteristics. Applying traditional density field measurement techniques to supersonic flows yields three problems: low spatiotemporal resolution, limitation of measuring 3D density field, and low signal to noise ratio (SNR). A new method based on Nano-based Planar Laser Scattering (NPLS) technique is proposed in this paper to measure supersonic density field. This method measures planar transient density field in 3D supersonic flow by calibrating the relationship between density and concentration of tracer particles, which would display the density fluctuation due to the influence of shock waves and vortexes. The application of this new method to density field measurement of supersonic optical bow cap is introduced in this paper, and the results reveal shock wave, turbulent boundary layer in the flow with the spatial resolution of 93.2 μm/pixel. 7Macrobenthic community structure in the Changjiang Estuary and its adjacent waters in summer显示文摘On the basis of data collected in the summer of 2006 from 27 sampling stations in the Changjiang Estuary and its adjacent waters, the ecological characteristics of macrobenthos and the relationship between the macrobenthos and the environmental factors were studied using hierarchical cluster and non-metric multidimensional scaling (MDS).The biomass, abundance, Shannon-Wiener's and Margalef's indices of the macrobenthos were presented. The results showed that a total of 253 macrobenthic species were found in the research region, and most of them belong to mollusks and polychaetes. The dominant species were Cossurella dimorpha, Eocylichna cylindrella, Episiphon kiaochowwanense, Nassarius semiplicatus, Ocstergrenia variabilis and Sternaspis scutata. The average abundance of the macrobenthos was (313.15±233.4) ind./m2, and the average biomass was (15.2±11.2)g/m2.The distribution patterns of the abundance and biomass of the macrobenthos were similar. The abundance and biomass in the area close to the estuary were lower than those from the area more distant to the estuary; the central part of the research region had higher abundance and biomass than other parts of the research region. In accordance with the results, four macrobenthic communities with distinct spatial differences were identified. The low abundance and biomass in the area close to the estuary should be caused by the high sedimentation rate. 8Grey Relation between Nonlinear Characteristic and Dynamic Uncertainty of Rolling Bearing Friction Torque显示文摘The rolling bearing friction torque which is characterized by its uncertainty and nonlinearity affects heavily the dynamic performance of a system such as missiles, spacecrafts and radars, etc. It is difficult to use the classical statistical theory to evaluate the dynamic evaluation of the rolling bearing friction torque for the lack of prior information about both probability distribution and trends. For this reason, based on the information poor system theory and combined with the correlation dimension in chaos theory, the concepts about the mean of the dynamic fluctuant range (MDFR) and the grey relation are proposed to resolve the problem about evaluating the nonlinear characteristic and the dynamic uncertainty of the rolling bearing friction torque. Friction torque experiments are done for three types of the rolling bearings marked with HKTA, HKTB and HKTC separately; meantime, the correlation dimension and MDFR are calculated to describe the nonlinear characteristic and the dynamic uncertainty of the friction torque, respectively. And the experiments reveal that there is a certain grey relation between the nonlinear characteristic and the dynamic uncertainty of the rolling bearing friction torque, viz. MDFR will become the nonlinear increasing trend with the correlation dimension increasing. 9Photoperiodism dynamics during the domestication and improvement of soybean显示文摘Soybean(Glycine max) is a facultative short-day plant with a sensitive photoperiod perception and reaction system, which allows it to adjust its physiological state and gene regulatory networks to seasonal and diurnal changes in environmental conditions. In the past few decades, soybean cultivation has spread from East Asia to areas throughout the world. Biologists and breeders must now confront the challenge of understanding the molecular mechanism of soybean photoperiodism and improving agronomic traits to enable this important crop to adapt to geographical and environmental changes. In this review, we summarize the genetic regulatory network underlying photoperiodic responses in soybean. Genomic and genetic studies have revealed that the circadian clock, in conjunction with the light perception pathways, regulates photoperiodic flowering. Here, we provide an annotated list of 844 candidate flowering genes in soybean, with their putative biological functions. Many photoperiod-related genes have been intensively selected during domestication and crop improvement. 10An experimental study of aero-optical aberration and dithering of supersonic mixing layer via BOS显示文摘The optical performance of supersonic mixing layer is heavily deteriorated by the aero-optical aberration and dithering of coherent structures, but current measuring methods limit the spatiotemporal resolution in relevant studies. A high resolution whole-field aero-optical aberration and dithering measuring method based on the Background Orient Schlieren (BOS) technique was studied. The systematic structure, sensitivity and resolution of BOS are analyzed in this paper. The aero-optical aberration and dithering of streamwise structures in supersonic mixing layers were quantificationally studied with BOS. The aberration field of spanwise structures revealed the ribbon-like aberration structures, which heavily restrict the optical performance of a mixing layer. 12Middle Triassic post-orogenic extension on Hainan Island: Chronology and geochemistry constraints of bimodal intrusive rocks显示文摘This work studies new petrological and geochemical data and zircon U-Pb ages for bimodal intrusive rocks from Xinglong region, Hainan Island. Zircon U-Pb dating yields mean 238 U/ 206 Pb ages of 238 ± 2 Ma and 234 ± 2 Ma for diabasic and granitic phases, respectively, representing the Middle Triassic emplacement. The diabase and granite bodies were formed from discrete mafic and acidic magma sources that experienced local mechanical mixing at their mutual contacts. Although SiO 2 content of intrusions is bimodal, trace element ratios indicate that both were formed in a post-orogenic extensional setting. 13Effect of acupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) on cardiac function using echocardiography in myocardial ischemia rats induced by isoproterenol显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of acupuncture at Neiguan(PC 6) on cardiac function using echocardiography in rat models of myocardial ischemia(MI) induced by isoproterenol(ISO).METHODS: Twenty-seven Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to normal, model, and acupuncture groups. The model and acupuncture groups were given injections of ISO(85 mg/kg) to establish the MI model. After model establishment,the acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture at Neiguan(PC 6) for 30 min. Echocardiography was used to monitor diastolic and systolic function for 30 min starting from the time after the acupuncture needles were removed. Changes in the length of left ventricular internal diameter at end-diastole(LVIDd), length of left ventricular internal diameter at end-systole(LVIDs), the ratio of mitral peak velocity at early diastole and atrial contraction(E/A), ejection fraction(EF), fractional shortening(FS), and stroke volume(SV) were measured.RESULTS: Compared with the model group at 0and 15 min after needles were removed, the means of LVIDd and LVIDs were significantly lower(P <0.01) and E/A, EF, FS, and SV significantly higher(P < 0.01) in the acupuncture group. In the acupuncture group, the means of LVIDd and LVIDs15 min after the needles were removed were significantly higher(P < 0.01) than those at 0 min. 14Gray bootstrap method for estimating frequency-varying random vibration signals with small samples显示文摘During environment testing, the estimation of random vibration signals(RVS) is an important technique for the airborne platform safety and reliability. However, the available methods including extreme value envelope method(EVEM), statistical tolerances method(STM) and improved statistical tolerance method(ISTM) require large samples and typical probability distribution. Moreover, the frequency-varying characteristic of RVS is usually not taken into account. Gray bootstrap method(GBM) is proposed to solve the problem of estimating frequency-varying RVS with small samples. Firstly, the estimated indexes are obtained including the estimated interval, the estimated uncertainty, the estimated value, the estimated error and estimated reliability. In addition, GBM is applied to estimating the single flight testing of certain aircraft. At last, in order to evaluate the estimated performance, GBM is compared with bootstrap method(BM) and gray method(GM) in testing analysis. 15Multiresolution analysis of density fluctuation in supersonic mixing layer显示文摘Due to the difficulties in measuring supersonic density field, the multiresolution analysis of supersonic mixing layer based on experimental images is still a formidable challenge. By utilizing the recently developed nanoparticle based planar laser scattering method, the density field of a supersonic mixing layer was measured at high spatiotemporal resolution. According to the dynamic behavior of coherent structures, the multiresolution characteristics of density fluctuation signals and density field images were studied based on Taylor’s hypothesis of space-time conversion and wavelet analysis. The wavelet coefficients reflect the characteristics of density fluctuation signals at different scales, and the detailed coefficients reflect the differences of approximation at adjacent levels. The density fluctuation signals of supersonic mixing layer differ from the periodic sine signal and exhibit similarity to the fractal Koch signal. The similarity at different scales reveals the fractal characteristic of mixing layer flowfield. 17The effect of melt overheating on the melt structure transition and solidified structures of Sn-Bi40 alloy显示文摘Evolution of the electrical resistivity of Sn-40wt%Bi melt with time under different overheating temperatures during isothermal experiments has been studied, and the relationship between different melt state, solidification behavior and solidified structure has also been investigated. The results show that the melt structure transition revealed by the abnormal change of resistivity would take place within a certain holding time just when the holding temperature is above a certain critical, and that the higher the temperature above the critical, the shorter the 'incubation period' of the melt structure transition, and the faster the transition speed. The results of solidification experiments suggest that the melt structure transition caused by different holding time at the same temperature can lead to a higher so-lidification undercooling degree, finer grain size and change of microscopic pattern. Further exploration indicates that the solidification undercooling degree can come to a head when the melt is held at the specific temperature for a given time. 18A flow control study of a supersonic mixing layer via NPLS显示文摘The flow control of a supersonic mixing layer was studied in a supersonic mixing layer wind tunnel with convective Mach number (Mc) at 0.5. The passive control of the mixing layer was achieved by perturbation tapes on the trailing edge of the splitter plate. The control effects of 2D and 3D perturbation tapes with different sizes were compared. The mixing layer was visualized via NPLS,and the transient fine structures were identifiable in NPLS images,which were used to analyze the effects of flow control. 20Phylogenetic and genetic characterization of a 2017 clinical isolate of H7N9 virus in Guangzhou,China during the fifth epidemic wave显示文摘Pathogenic H7N9 influenza viruses continue to pose a public health concern. The H7N9 virus has caused five outbreak waves of human infections in China since 2013. In the present study, a novel H7N9 strain(A/Guangdong/8 H324/2017) was isolated from a female patient with severe respiratory illness during the fifth wave of the 2017 H7N9 epidemic. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the H7N9 viruses collected during the fifth wave belong to two different lineages: the Pearl River Delta lineage and the Yangtze River Delta lineage. The novel isolate is closely related to the Pearl River Delta H7N9 viruses, which were isolated from patients in Guangdong Province. The novel H7N9 isolate has an insertion of three basic amino acids in the cleavage site of hemagglutinin(HA), which may enhance virulence in poultry. The 2017 isolate also possesses an R292 K substitution in the neuraminidase(NA)protein, which confers oseltamivir resistance.
