| 1 | Paracrine and endocrine actions of bone——the functions of secretory proteins from osteoblasts, osteocytes, and osteoclasts显示文摘The skeleton is a dynamic organ that is constantly remodeled. Proteins secreted from bone cells, namely osteoblasts, osteocytes,and osteoclasts exert regulation on osteoblastogenesis, osteclastogenesis, and angiogenesis in a paracrine manner. Osteoblasts secrete a range of different molecules including RANKL/OPG, M-CSF, SEMA3A, WNT5A, and WNT16 that regulate osteoclastogenesis. Osteoblasts also produce VEGFA that stimulates osteoblastogenesis and angiogenesis. Osteocytes produce sclerostin(SOST) that inhibits osteoblast differentiation and promotes osteoclast differentiation. Osteoclasts secrete factors including BMP6, CTHRC1, EFNB2, S1P, WNT10B, SEMA4D, and CT-1 that act on osteoblasts and osteocytes, and thereby influencea A osteogenesis. Osteoclast precursors produce the angiogenic factor PDGF-BB to promote the formation of Type H vessels, which then stimulate osteoblastogenesis. Besides, the evidences over the past decades show that at least three hormones or 'osteokines'from bone cells have endocrine functions. FGF23 is produced by osteoblasts and osteocytes and can regulate phosphate metabolism. Osteocalcin(OCN) secreted by osteoblasts regulates systemic glucose and energy metabolism, reproduction, and cognition. | 3 | Comparison of Body Mass Index with Body Fat Percentage in the Evaluation of Obesity in Chinese显示文摘Objective To evaluate the present Chinese body mass index(BMI) criteria with body fat percentage(BF%) in determining obesity in Chinese population.Methods A total of 4 907 subjects(age:20-90 yrs) were enrolled in the baseline survey of a longitudinal epidemiological study,and 2 638 of them were reevaluated in 5.5 years later.The Chinese BMI and WHO BF%were used to define obesity,respectively.Results The diagnostic agreement between the Chinese BMI and WHO BF%definitions for obesity was poor for both men(kappa:0.210,95%CI:0.179-0.241) and women(kappa:0.327, 95%CI:0.296-0.358).However,BMI had a good correlation with BF%both in men(r:0.785,P<0,01) and women(r:0.864, P<0.01).The age and sex-adjusted relative risks(RR) for incidence of type 2 diabetes(T2DM) were significantly higher in subjects with intermediate BF%(BF%:20.1%-25%for men,30.1%-35%for women)(RR:2.35,95%CI:1.23-4.48) and high BF%(BF%>25%for men and>35%for women)(RR:2.89,95%CI:1.43-5.81),or in subjects with high BMI(BMI≥28 kg/m^2)(RR:2.46,95%CI:1.31-4.63) when compared to those with low BF%(BF%≤20%for men and≤30%for women) or low BMI(BMI<24 kg/m^2) respectively.No difference in risk could be found in those with intermediate BMI(BMI:24-27.9 kg/m^2)(RR:1.44,95%CI:0.86-2.40),as compared to those with low BMI(BMI<24 kg/m^2),whose BF%ranged widely from 7.8 to 50.3%.Conclusion BMI was correlated with BF%.Both BMI and BF%were associated with high risk for T2DM. | 5 | Serum calcium,albumin,globulin and matrix metalloproteinase-9 levels in acute cerebral infarction patients显示文摘BACKGROUND Hemorrhagic transformation(HT)is a common complication in patients with cerebral infarction.However,its pathogenesis is poorly understood.The knowledge of factors that may increase risk for HT may help in improving the safety of thrombolytic therapy.AIM To investigate the predictive value of serum calcium,albumin,globulin and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)levels for HT after intravenous thrombolysis(IVT)in patients with acute cerebral infarction.METHODS Five hundred patients with acute cerebral infarction who received IVT with alteplase within 4.5 h after the onset of disease between January 2018 and January 2021 at our hospital were selected as the study subjects.They were divided into groups based on computed tomography scan results of the brain made within 36 h after thrombolysis.Forty patients with HT were enrolled in an observation group and 460 patients without HT were enrolled in a control group.Serum calcium,albumin,globulin and MMP-9 levels were compared between the two groups.Regression analysis was used to discuss the relationship between these indices and HT.RESULTS The previous history of hypertension,diabetes,atrial fibrillation,cerebrovascular diseases,smoking and alcohol intake were not associated with HT after IVT in patients with acute cerebral infarction(all P>0.05).The National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NHISS)score was associated with HT after IVT in patients with acute cerebral infarction(P<0.05).The serum calcium and albumin levels were lower in the observation group than in the control group(all P<0.05).The levels of globulin and MMP-9 were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(all P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that NHISS score,serum calcium,albumin,globulins and MMP-9 were independent factors influencing the occurrence of HT following IVT in patients with cerebral infarction(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Serum calcium,albumin,globulin and MMP-9 levels are risk factors for HT after IVT in patients with acute cerebral infarction.Moreover,NHISS score can be used as a predictor of post-thrombolytic HT. | Ting-Ting Zhong Gang Wang Xiao-Qin Wang Wei-Dan Kong Xiao-Yu Li Qian Xue Yu-An Zou | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,30: | 15 |

| 8 | Full-color quantum dots active matrix display fabricated by ink-jet printing显示文摘Making full-color active matrix display based on quantum dot light emitting diodes(AM-QLEDs) via ink-jet printing is attractive in display industry due to QLEDs' wide color gamut and their potential manufacturing advantages of large screen size and low cost. The challenges for realizing AM-QLED display are how to achieve high quality films through ink-jet printing, multi-color patterning, electroluminescence(EL) color purity, and high efficiency. Herein, a 2-inch diagonal full-color AM-QLEDs display with pixel density of 120 pixels per inch(PPI) fabricated by ink-jet printing technique is presented. Driven by a metal oxide TFT(MOTFT) back-panel, the display exhibits a maximum brightness of 400 cd m.2, and a color gamut of 109%(NTSC 1931). The red, green, and blue(RGB) monochrome QLEDs passive matrix panels fabricated by ink-jet printing technique have a current efficiency(CE) of 2.5, 13.9, and 0.30 cd A.1, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, the efficiencies are the highest among passive matrix QLEDs panels made by ink-jet printing technique. | 11 | Types and Causes of Debris Flow Damage to Drainage Channels in the Wenchuan Earthquake Area显示文摘Debris flows are among the most common geological disasters in China,and have been particularly frequent in Sichuan Province since the Wenchuan earthquake on 12 May 2008.The construction of debris flow drainage channels is a countermeasure used to distribute debris flow fans,and these channels play a critical role in the mitigation and prevention of damage resulting from debris flows.Under field conditions,the useful life of drainage channels can be greatly shortened as a result of strong abrasions to the drainage structure caused by the debris flow.Field investigations have shown that the types of damage to drainage channels include(a) erosion caused by hyper-concentrated silt flow,(b) impact fractures and foundation scour at the groundsills of the drainage channel,(c) destruction of the drainage channel outlet,and(d) destruction of the drainage channel caused by debris flow abrasion.In addition,based on the destruction of the drainage channel during the debris flow drainage process,a new type of drainage channel with energy dissipation components was proposed and applied in a steep,narrow gully for debris flow mitigation.Moreover,design and engineering repair recommendations for drainage channels are provided as a reference for repairing the damage to the channel.The results can provide an important reference for the effective repair and optimal design of drainage channels. | CHEN Jian-gang CHEN Xiao-qing WANG Tao ZOU Yu-hua ZHONG Wei | 2014 | Journal of Mountain Science2014,11,6: | 8 |

| 15 | Paleoceanographic Indicators for Early Cambrian Black Shales from the Yangtze Platform, South China: Evidence from Biomarkers and Carbon Isotopes显示文摘The lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation, a widespread black shale deposition, is of geological interest because of its polymetallic beds, Cambrian explosion, depositional ages, dramatic environmental changes and so on. Previous study focused mainly on inorganic geochemistry and few studies have investigated the organic fractions of upper Neoproterozoic-lower Cambrian strata in South China. Here we report a study of biomarkers plus organic carbon isotopes for black shales from Ganziping, Hunan Province (China). All the saturated hydrocarbon fractions have a unimodal distribution of n-alkanes, a high content of short-chain alkanes and maximize at C 19 or C 20 (C 23 for sample Gzh00-1). The C 27 /C 29 sterane ratio ranges from 0.77 to 1.20 and 4-methylsteranes are in low abundance. These parameters indicate that algae and bacteria are the important primary producers. Furthermore, biomarker maturity proxies show the samples to be higher maturity. The low Pr/Ph values (<0.7) suggest that the samples were deposited under anoxic conditions and, likely, under stratified water columns. In addition, 25-norhopanes and gammacerane are present as diagnostic indicators of normal marine salinity and dysoxic to anoxic conditions. During the Early Tommotian, known to coincide with a transgression event, small shelly fossils increased in abundance and diversity. Moreover, positive δ 13 C org excursions close to 1.4‰ occur at the base of the Tommotian stage. | 16 | Broadband perovskite quantum dot spectrometer beyond human visual resolution显示文摘The quantum dot spectrometer,fabricated by integrating different quantum dots with an image sensor to reconstruct the target spectrum from spectral-coupled measurements,is an emerging and promising hyperspectrometry technology with high resolution and a compact size.The spectral resolution and spectral range of quantum dot spectrometers have been limited by the spectral variety of the available quantum dots and the robustness of algorithmic reconstruction.Moreover,the spectrometer integration of quantum dots also suffers from inherent photoluminescence emission and poor batch-to-batch repeatability.In this work,we developed nonemissive in situ fabricated MA_(3)Bi_(2)X_(9) and Cs_(2)SnX_(6)(MA=CH_(3)NH_(3);X=Cl,Br,I)perovskite-quantum-dot-embedded films(PQDFs)with precisely tunable transmittance spectra for quantum dot spectrometer applications.The resulting PQDFs contain in situ fabricated perovskite nanocrystals with homogenous dispersion in a polymeric matrix,giving them advantageous features such as high transmittance efficiency and good batch-to-batch repeatability.By integrating a filter array of 361 kinds of PQDFs with a silicon-based photodetector array,we successfully demonstrated the construction of a perovskite quantum dot spectrometer combined with a compressive-sensing-based total-variation optimization algorithm.A spectral resolution of ~1.6 nm was achieved in the broadband of 250-1000 nm.The performance of the perovskite quantum dot spectrometer is well beyond that of human eyes in terms of both the spectral range and spectral resolution.This advancement will not only pave the way for using quantum dot spectrometers for practical applications but also significantly impact the development of artificial intelligence products,clinical treatment equipment,scientific instruments,etc. | Xiaoxiu Zhu Liheng Bian Hao Fu Lingxue Wang Bingsuo Zou Qionghai Dai Jun Zhang Haizheng Zhong | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 5 |

| 18 | The pathologic relevance of metabolic criteria in patients with biopsy-proven nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and metabolic dysfunction associated fatty liver disease:A multicenter cross-sectional study in China显示文摘Background:This study aimed to assess the association between metabolic syndrome(Met S)and severity of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),and to discuss the pathological relevance of the diagnostic criteria in metabolic(dysfunction)associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD).Methods:This was a multicenter,cross-sectional study.Patients with NAFLD confirmed by liver biopsy were enrolled between July 2016 and December 2018 from 14 centers across the mainland of China.Anthropometric and metabolic parameters were collected to assess the pathological relevance.Results:Of 246 enrolled patients with NAFLD,150(61.0%)had the comorbidity of Met S.With the increase of metabolic components,the proportions of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)and significant fibrosis were notably increased.The comorbid three metabolic components significantly increased the proportion of NASH,and further increase of metabolic components did not increase the proportion of NASH.However,the increase of metabolic components was parallel to the increase of the proportion of liver fibrosis.Among the 246 patients,239(97.2%)met the diagnostic criteria of MAFLD.Although non-MAFLD patients had less NASH,they present with similar proportion of significant fibrosis and cirrhosis.In the diagnostic criteria of MAFLD,BMI≥23 kg/m2 was related to NASH(Mantel-Haenszel Common Estimate OR:2.975;95%CI:1.037–8.538;P=0.043),and T2 DM was related to significant fibrosis(Mantel-Haenszel Common Estimate OR:2.531;95%CI:1.388–4.613;P=0.002).The homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)≥2.5 was the most significant factor for NASH(OR:4.100;95%CI:1.772–9.487;P=0.001)and significant factor for liver fibrosis(OR:2.947;95%CI:1.398–6.210;P=0.004)after the adjustments of the BMI and diabetes.Conclusions:Metabolic dysregulations are important risk factors in NAFLD progression.The insulin resistance status may play a predominant role in the progression in MAFLD patients. | Rui-Xu Yang Zheng-Sheng Zou Bi-Hui Zhong Hong Deng Fang-Ping He Jun-Ping Shi Cai-Yan Zhao Yu-Qiang Mi Yong-Jian Zhou Fu-Sheng Di Rui-Dan Zheng Qin Du Jia Shang Branko Popovic Jin Jun Chen Jian-Gao Fan | 2021 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2021,20,5: | 5 |
| 19 | Oxide dispersion strengthened stainless steel 316L with superior strength and ductility by selective laser melting显示文摘Dense oxide dispersion strengthened(ODS) 316 L steels with different amount of Y2O3 additions were succe s s fully fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM) even though part of the added Y2O3 got lost during the process.The microstructure was characterized in details and the mechanical properties were tested at room temperature,250℃ and 400℃,respectively.The effect of the scanning speed on agglomeration of nanoparticles during SLM process was discussed.Superior properties,e.g.,yield strength of 574 MPa and elongation of 91%,were achieved at room temperature in SLM ODS 316 L with additional 1% of Y2 O3.At elevated temperature s,the strength kept high but the elongations dropped dra matically.It was observed that nano-voids nucleated throughout the whole gauge section at the sites where nanoinclusions located.The growth and coalescence of these voids were suppre s sed by the formation of an element segregation network before necking,which relieved local stress concentration and thus delayed necking.This unusual necking behavior was studied and compared to the previous theory.It appeared that the strong convection presented in the melt pool can evenly redistribute the short-time milled coarse Y2O3 precursor powder during SLM process.These findings can not only solve the problems encountered during the fabrication of ODS components but also replenish the strengthening mechanism of SLM 316 L thus pave a way for further improving of mechanical properties. | Yuan Zhong Leifeng Liu Ji Zou Xiaodong Li Daqing Cui Zhijian Shen | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,7: | 5 |
| 20 | Imaging energetic electron spectrometer onboard a Chinese navigation satellite in the inclined GEO orbit显示文摘The energetic electron measurement is one of the most important issues to understand dynamics in space physics and the applications for space weather. In this study, the principle and functional components of the imaging energetic electron spectrometer(IES) onboard a Chinese navigation satellite in the inclined GEO orbit(IGSO) was introduced. The IES instrument is developed by the team in Peking University(BeiDa), thus it is named as BD-IES. Based on the pin-hole technique, the instrument can measure 50–600 keV electrons incident from 9 directions over a range of 180° in polar angle. With pulse height analysis(PHA), the spectrum can be determined for each direction. The energy and angular calibrations were performed, which show the good energy and angular characteristics of BD-IES. Monte Carlo simulations show that the anti-proton design of BDIES can effectively decrease the proton contamination on the electron measurements in the inclined GEO orbit.
