| 2 | A Joint Learning Framework for the CCKS-2020 Financial Event Extraction Task显示文摘This paper presents a winning solution for the CCKS-2020 financial event extraction task, where the goal is to identify event types, triggers and arguments in sentences across multiple event types. In this task, we focus on resolving two challenging problems(i.e., low resources and element overlapping) by proposing a joint learning framework, named SaltyFishes. We first formulate the event extraction task as a joint probability model. By sharing parameters in the model across different types, we can learn to adapt to low-resource events based on high-resource events. We further address the element overlapping problems by a mechanism of Conditional Layer Normalization, achieving even better extraction accuracy. | 6 | Federated Learning with Privacy-preserving and Model IP-right-protection显示文摘In the past decades,artificial intelligence(AI)has achieved unprecedented success,where statistical models become the central entity in AI.However,the centralized training and inference paradigm for building and using these models is facing more and more privacy and legal challenges.To bridge the gap between data privacy and the need for data fusion,an emerging AI paradigm feder-ated learning(FL)has emerged as an approach for solving data silos and data privacy problems.Based on secure distributed AI,feder-ated learning emphasizes data security throughout the lifecycle,which includes the following steps:data preprocessing,training,evalu-ation,and deployments.FL keeps data security by using methods,such as secure multi-party computation(MPC),differential privacy,and hardware solutions,to build and use distributed multiple-party machine-learning systems and statistical models over different data sources.Besides data privacy concerns,we argue that the concept of“model”matters,when developing and deploying federated models,they are easy to expose to various kinds of risks including plagiarism,illegal copy,and misuse.To address these issues,we introduce FedIPR,a novel ownership verification scheme,by embedding watermarks into FL models to verify the ownership of FL models and protect model intellectual property rights(IPR or IP-right for short).While security is at the core of FL,there are still many articles re-ferred to distributed machine learning with no security guarantee as“federated learning”,which are not satisfied with the FL definition supposed to be.To this end,in this paper,we reiterate the concept of federated learning and propose secure federated learning(SFL),where the ultimate goal is to build trustworthy and safe AI with strong privacy-preserving and IP-right-preserving.We provide a com-prehensive overview of existing works,including threats,attacks,and defenses in each phase of SFL from the lifecycle perspective. | Qiang Yang Anbu Huang Lixin Fan Chee Seng Chan Jian Han Lim Kam Woh Ng Ding Sheng Ong Bowen Li | 2023 | Machine Intelligence Research2023,20,1: | 1 |
| 7 | Fully Printed High‑Performance n‑Type Metal Oxide Thin‑Film Transistors Utilizing Coffee‑Ring Effect显示文摘Metal oxide thin-films transistors(TFTs)produced from solution-based printing techniques can lead to large-area electronics with low cost.However,the performance of current printed devices is inferior to those from vacuum-based methods due to poor film uniformity induced by the“coffeering”effect.Here,we report a novel approach to print highperformance indium tin oxide(ITO)-based TFTs and logic inverters by taking advantage of such notorious effect.ITO has high electrical conductivity and is generally used as an electrode material.However,by reducing the film thickness down to nanometers scale,the carrier concentration of ITO can be effectively reduced to enable new applications as active channels in transistors.The ultrathin(~10-nm-thick)ITO film in the center of the coffee-ring worked as semiconducting channels,while the thick ITO ridges(>18-nm-thick)served as the contact electrodes.The fully inkjet-printed ITO TFTs exhibited a high saturation mobility of 34.9 cm2 V^(−1) s^(−1) and a low subthreshold swing of 105 mV dec^(−1).In addition,the devices exhibited excellent electrical stability under positive bias illumination stress(PBIS,ΔV_(th)=0.31 V)and negative bias illuminaiton stress(NBIS,ΔV_(th)=−0.29 V)after 10,000 s voltage bias tests.More remarkably,fully printed n-type metal–oxide–semiconductor(NMOS)inverter based on ITO TFTs exhibited an extremely high gain of 181 at a low-supply voltage of 3 V,promising for advanced electronics applications. | Kun Liang Dingwei Li Huihui Ren Momo Zhao Hong Wang Mengfan Ding Guangwei Xu Xiaolong Zhao Shibing Long Siyuan Zhu Pei Sheng Wenbin Li Xiao Lin Bowen Zhu | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,11: | 1 |
| 8 | Long non-coding RNA SAP30-2:1 is downregulated in congenital heart disease and regulates cell proliferation by targeting HAND2显示文摘Congenital heart disease(CHD)is the most common birth defect worldwide.Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)have been implicated in many diseases.However,their involvement in CHD is not well understood.This study aimed to investigate the role of dysregulated lncRNAs in CHD.We used Gene Expression Omnibus data mining,bioinformatics analysis,and analysis of clinical tissue samples and observed that the novel lncRNA SAP30-2:1 with unknown function was significantly downregulated in damaged cardiac tissues from patients with CHD.Knockdown of lncRNA SAP30-2:1 inhibited the proliferation of human embryonic kidney and AC16 cells and decreased the expression of heart and neural crest derivatives expressed 2(HAND2).Moreover,lncRNA SAP30-2:1 was associated with HAND2 by RNA immunoprecipitation.Overall,these results suggest that lncRNA SAP30-2:1 may be involved in heart development through affecting cell proliferation via targeting HAND2 and may thus represent a novel therapeutic target for CHD. | Jing Ma Shiyu Chen Lili Hao Wei Sheng Weicheng Chen Xiaojing Ma Bowen Zhang Duan Ma Guoying Huang | 2021 | Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,1: | 0 |

| 10 | The relationships between step count and all-cause mortality and cardiovascular events:A doseresponse meta-analysis显示文摘Background:A goal of 10,000 steps per day is widely advocated,but there is little evidence to support that goal.Our purpose was to examine the doseresponse relationships between step count and all-cause mortality and cardiovascular disease risk.Methods:Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,EMBASE,OVID,PubMed,Scopus,and Web of Science databases were systematically searched for studies published before July 9,2021,that evaluated the association between daily steps and at least 1 outcome.Results:Sixteen publications(12 related to all-cause mortality,5 related to cardiovascular disease;and 1 article contained 2 outcomes:both allcause death and cardiovascular events)were eligible for inclusion in the meta-analysis.There was evidence of a nonlinear doseresponse relationship between step count and risk of all-cause mortality or cardiovascular disease(p=0.002 and p=0.014 for nonlinearity,respectively).When we restricted the analyses to accelerometer-based studies,the third quartile had a 40.36%lower risk of all-cause mortality and a 35.05%lower risk of cardiovascular event than the first quartile(all-cause mortality:Q1=4183 steps/day,Q3=8959 steps/day;cardiovascular event:Q1=3500 steps/day,Q3=9500 steps/day;respectively).Conclusion:Our meta-analysis suggests inverse associations between higher step count and risk of premature death and cardiovascular events in middle-aged and older adults,with nonlinear doseresponse patterns. | Mingxin Sheng Junyue Yang Min Bao Tianzhi Chen Ruixue Cai Na Zhang Hongling Chen Minqi Liu Xueyu Wu Bowen Zhang Yiting Liu Jianqian Chao | 2021 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2021,10,6: | 0 |

Methods Herein, we categorize a collection of such tricks through the theoretical examination and empirical evaluation of their effects on the final accuracy of the visual odometry. Results/Conclusions By combining the aforementioned tricks, we were able to significantly improve a baseline model adapted from SfMLearner without additional inference costs. Furthermore, we analyzed the principles of these tricks and the reason for their success.
