1Off-flavor compounds from decaying cyanobacterial blooms of Lake Taihu显示文摘The effect of cyanobacterial bloom decay on water quality and the complete degradation of cyanobacterial blooms in a short period were examined by an enclosure experiment in Gonghu Bay of Lake Taihu,China.Water quality parameters as well as taste and odor compounds during the breakdown of cyanobacterial blooms were measured.Results showed that the decay of cyanobacterial blooms caused anoxic water conditions,decreased pH,and increased nutrient loading to the lake water.The highest concentrations of dimethyl sulfide (DMS),dimethyl trisulfide (DMTS),and β-cyclocitral were observed in the anoxic water,at 62331.8,12413.3,and 1374.9 ng/L,respectively.2-Methylisoborneol was dominant during the live growth phase of cyanobacterial blooms,whereas DMS and DMTS were dominant during the decomposition phase.Dissolved oxygen,pH,and chlorophyll a were negatively correlated with DMS,DMTS,and β-cyclocitral,whereas total phosphorus,total nitrogen,and ammonium (NH4+-N) were positively correlated with DMS,DMTS,β-cyclocitral,and β-ionone.The experimental results suggested that preventing the anaerobic decomposition of cyanobacterial blooms is an important strategy against the recurrence of a malodor crisis in Lake Taihu.Zhimei Ma Yuan Niu Ping Xie Jun Chen Min Tao Xuwei Deng 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,3:9
2Effect of rare earth elements on the structures and mechanical properties of magnesium alloys显示文摘By means of first-principles calculations,we have investigated the effects of rare earth elements (REEs) on the structures and mechanical properties of magnesium.The lattice parameters,elastic constants,bulk moduli,shear moduli,Young's moduli and anisotropic parameter of these solid solutions have been calculated and analyzed.The nearest-neighbor distance between Mg and the REEs is also analyzed to explore the correlation with the bulk moduli.The results show that the 4f-electrons and atomic radii play an important role in the strengthening process.The anomalies of the lattice parameters and mechanical properties at Eu and Yb are due to the half-filled and full-filled 4f-electron orbital states.Finally,the increase of directional bonding character near the alloying elements may account for the anisotropy and brittleness of these magnesium alloys.L Zhong ZHOU Jian SUN ZhiMei CHEN RongShi 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,3:8
3First-principles calculations of the β'-Mg_7Gd precipitate in Mg-Gd binary alloys显示文摘The metastable β' phase is often the most effective hardening precipitate in Mg-Gd based alloys.In this paper,the structural,elastic and electronic properties of the recently identified β'-Mg7Gd precipitate in Mg-Gd binary alloys were investigated using first-principles calculations based on density functional theory.The lattice mismatches between the coherent β'-Mg7Gd precipitate and α-Mg matrix are discussed and used to rationalize the experimentally observed morphology of the precipitate.The mechanical properties were investigated through analysis of the single-crystal elastic constants and the polycrystalline elastic moduli.It is found that β'-Mg7Gd is brittle in nature.Strong covalent bonding in β'-Mg7Gd,as inferred from its electronic structure,further explains its mechanical properties.Our theoretical results show good agreement with experimental measurements.GAO Lei ZHOU Jian SUN ZhiMei CHEN RongShi HAN EnHou 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,11:7

5The microbial metallogeny of weathering crust REE deposits in South China显示文摘VERY little is known about the roles of microorganisms in the metallogeny of weathering crust REE deposits, although there has been much literature on REE behavior in weathering conditions. The present note deals with the microorganisms in 4 weathering profiles of an REE deposit and their roles in migration and accumulation of REE in weathering conditions. 1 Cultivation and identification of microorganisms Under strict sterilization, samples were collected from various parts of 4 weathering profiles of granites in a weathering crust REE deposit in South China. 15Chemo-photothermal immunotherapy for eradication of orthotopic tumors and inhibition of metastasis by intratumoral injection of polydopamine versatile hydrogels显示文摘Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death globally and metastasis always leads to treatment failure.Here,we develop a versatile hydrogel loading photothermal agents,chemotherapeutics,and immune-adjuvants to eradicate orthotopic tumors and inhibit metastasis by combinational therapy.Hydrogel networks were synthesized via the thiol-Michael addition of polydopamine(PDA)with thiolated hyaluronic acid.PDA acted as a cross-linking agent and endowed the hydrogel with excellent photothermal property.Meanwhile,a chemotherapeutic agent,doxorubicin(DOX),was loaded in the hydrogel viaπ-πstacking with PDA and an immune-adjuvant,CpG-ODN,was loaded via electrostatic interaction.The release of DOX from the hydrogel was initially slow but accelerated due to near infrared light irradiation.The hydrogels showed remarkably synergistic effect against 4T1 cancer cells and stimulated plenty of cytokines secreting from RAW264.7 cells.Moreover,the hydrogels eradicated orthotopic murine breast cancer xenografts and strongly inhibited metastasis after intratumoral injection and light irradiation.The high anticancer efficiency of this chemo-photothermal immunotherapy resulted from the strong synergistic effect of the versatile hydrogels,including the evoked host immune response.The combinational strategy of chemo-photothermal immunotherapy is promising for highly effective treatment of breast cancer.Bo Zhuang Ting Chen Yueqi Huang Zhimei Xiao Yiguang Jin 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,3:1

17Aqueous-phase synthesis of upconversion metal-organic frameworks for ATP-responsive in situ imaging and targeted combinational cancer therapy显示文摘Herein,the nanoscaled ATP-responsive upconversion metal-organic frameworks(UCMOFs)are aqueousphase synthesized for co-delivery of therapeutic protein cytochrome c(Cyt c)and chemodrugs doxorubicin(DOX),achieving targeted combinational therapy of human cervical cancer.The UCMOFs are rationally fabricated by growing ZIF-90 on mesoporous silica-coated upconversion nanoparticles(UCNPs),in which the ZIF-90 layer attenuates the upconversion luminescence(UCL)and the rigid frameworks increase the stability of encapsulated proteins.Once the UCMOF@DOX/Cyt c are internalized into HeLa cells via specific recognition of sgc8 aptamers,the intracellular ATP triggers the dissolution of ZIF-90 into Zn^(2+),which facilitates not only the release of Cyt c and DOX but also the restoration of UCL for real-time monitoring of drug release.It has been demonstrated that the therapeutic efficacy is greatly improved by the combination of caspase-mediated apoptosis activated by Cyt c(protein therapeutics),DNA fragmentation induced by DOX(chemotherapy),and Zn;-promoted generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)(oxidative stress).Overall,our proposed multifunctional UCMOFs provide an effective platform for targeted combinational cancer therapy and in situ imaging,which hold great promise in biomedical and clinical applications.Lin Yang Shuaidong Zhu Zhimei He Xiangli Li Jiangning Chen Sai Bi Jun-Jie Zhu 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,1:0

19Reflection-type surface lattice resonances in all-metal metasurfaces for refractive index sensing显示文摘Surface lattice resonance(SLR)is a pretty effective mechanism to realize ultranarrow linewidths in the spectrum.Herein,we propose and demonstrate reflection-type SLRs in all-metal metasurfaces experimentally,compared with the traditional transmission-type SLR,which can avoid the refractive index(RI)mismatch problem and are more suitable for high-efficiency RI sensing due to direct contact and strong light–matter interaction.The measured SLR linewidth is 13.5 nm influenced by the meta-atom size,which needs a compromise design to keep a balance between the narrow linewidth and noise immunity.Notably,the SLR sensitivity is determined by the lattice period along the polarization direction with regularity,which establishes an intuitive link between structures and optical responses and provides a theoretical guide for metasurface designs.Additionally,incident angle multiplexing will make the resonance wavelength red shift or blue shift in the case of orthogonal polarization.The rectangular array metasurface can realize dual SLRs with different sensing performances.Flexibly,the SLR can also be formed by the different meta-atoms and arrays.This research supports SLR multifarious applications involving not only RI sensing but also nonlinear optics,nano-lasers,etc.LIYE LI YIFAN OUYANG LIJUN MA HONGSHUN SUN YUSA CHEN MEIZHANG WU ZHIMEI QI WENGANG WU 2023Photonics Research2023,11,12:0
20Prediction of Outcomes in Mini-Basketball Training Program for Preschool Children with Autism Using Machine Learning Models显示文摘In recent years evidence has emerged suggesting that Mini-basketball training program(MBTP)can be an effec-tive intervention method to improve social communication(SC)impairments and restricted and repetitive beha-viors(RRBs)in preschool children suffering from autism spectrum disorder(ASD).However,there is a considerable degree if interindividual variability concerning these social outcomes and thus not all preschool chil-dren with ASD profit from a MBTP intervention to the same extent.In order to make more accurate predictions which preschool children with ASD can benefit from an MBTP intervention or which preschool children with ASD need additional interventions to achieve behavioral improvements,further research is required.This study aimed to investigate which individual factors of preschool children with ASD can predict MBTP intervention out-comes concerning SC impairments and RRBs.Then,test the performance of machine learning models in predict-ing intervention outcomes based on these factors.Participants were 26 preschool children with ASD who enrolled in a quasi-experiment and received MBTP intervention.Baseline demographic variables(e.g.,age,body,mass index[BMI]),indicators of physicalfitness(e.g.,handgrip strength,balance performance),performance in execu-tive function,severity of ASD symptoms,level of SC impairments,and severity of RRBs were obtained to predict treatment outcomes after MBTP intervention.Machine learning models were established based on support vector machine algorithm were implemented.For comparison,we also employed multiple linear regression models in statistics.Ourfindings suggest that in preschool children with ASD symptomatic severity(r=0.712,p<0.001)and baseline SC impairments(r=0.713,p<0.001)are predictors for intervention outcomes of SC impair-ments.Furthermore,BMI(r=-0.430,p=0.028),symptomatic severity(r=0.656,p<0.001),baseline SC impair-ments(r=0.504,p=0.009)and baseline RRBs(r=0.647,p<0.001)can predict intervention outcomes of RRBs.Statistical models predicted 59.6%of variance in post-treatment SC impairments(MSE=0.455,RMSE=0.675,R2=0.596)and 58.9%of variance in post-treatment RRBs(MSE=0.464,RMSE=0.681,R2=0.589).Machine learning models predicted 83%of variance in post-treatment SC impairments(MSE=0.188,RMSE=0.434,R2=0.83)and 85.9%of variance in post-treatment RRBs(MSE=0.051,RMSE=0.226,R2=0.859),which were better than statistical models.Ourfindings suggest that baseline characteristics such as symptomatic severity of 144 IJMHP,2022,vol.24,no.2 ASD symptoms and SC impairments are important predictors determining MBTP intervention-induced improvements concerning SC impairments and RBBs.Furthermore,the current study revealed that machine learning models can successfully be applied to predict the MBTP intervention-related outcomes in preschool chil-dren with ASD,and performed better than statistical models.Ourfindings can help to inform which preschool children with ASD are most likely to benefit from an MBTP intervention,and they might provide a reference for the development of personalized intervention programs for preschool children with ASD.Zhiyuan Sun Fabian Herold Kelong Cai Qian Yu Xiaoxiao Dong Zhimei Liu Jinming Li Aiguo Chen Liye Zou 2022International Journal of Mental Health Promotion2022,24,2:0
