| 1 | A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. | 2 | Anaerobic microbiologically influenced corrosion mechanisms interpreted using bioenergetics and bioelectrochemistry: A review显示文摘Microbiologically influenced corrosion(MIC) is a major cause of corrosion damages, facility failures, and financial losses, making MIC an important research topic. Due to complex microbiological activities and a lack of deep understanding of the interactions between biofilms and metal surfaces, MIC occurrences and mechanisms are difficult to predict and interpret. Many theories and mechanisms have been proposed to explain MIC. In this review, the mechanisms of MIC are discussed using bioenergetics, microbial respiration types, and biofilm extracellular electron transfer(EET). Two main MIC types, namely EET-MIC and metabolite MIC(M-MIC), are discussed. | 4 | Corrosion behavior of Al_(0.4)CoCu_(0.6)NiSi_(0.2)Ti_(0.25) high-entropy alloy coating via 3D printing laser cladding in a sulphur environment显示文摘High-entropy alloys(HEAs) are of great interest in materials science and engineering communities owing to their unique phase structure.HEAs are constructed with five or more principal alloying elements in equimolar or near-equimolar ratios.Therefore,they can derive their performance from multiple principal elements ratherthan a single element.In this work,three-dimensional printing laser cladding was applied to produce an Al_(0.4)CoCu_(0.6)NiSi_(0.2)Ti_(0.25) HEA coating.The experimental results confirmed that the laser cladding could be used to produce a thin coating of 120 μm in thickness.In the high-temperature laser cladding process,some Fe elements diffused from the substrate to the coating,forming a combination of face-centred cubic and body-centred cubic phase structures.The HEA coating metallurgically bonded well with the substrate.Owing to the increased dislocation density and number of grain boundaries,the HEA coating was harder and had a stronger hydrophobicity than X70 steel.The electrochemistry results showed that the HEA coating had better corrosion resistance than X70 steel.Aluminium oxides formed on the surface of the HEA coating had a certain protective effect.However,because of the laser cladding,the HEA coating generated cracks.In future work,the laser cladding technology will be improved and heat treatment will be implemented to prevent formation of cracks. | Hongxia Wan Dongdong Song Xiaolei Shi Yong Cai Tingting Li Changfeng Chen | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,1: | 6 |

| 6 | Indole-3-propionic Acid-aggravated CCl_(4)-induced Liver Fibrosis via the TGF-β1/Smads Signaling Pathway显示文摘Background and Aims:The pathogenesis of liver fibrosis involves liver damage,inflammation,oxidative stress,and intestinal dysfunction.Indole-3-propionic acid(IPA)has been demonstrated to have antioxidant,anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities,and a role in maintaining gut homeostasis.The current study aimed to investigate the role of IPA in carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)-induced liver fibrosis and explore the underlying mechanisms.Methods:The liver fibrosis model was established in male C57BL/6 mice by intraperitoneal injection of CCl4 twice weekly.IPA intervention was made orally(20 mg/kg daily).The degree of liver injury and fibrosis were assessed by serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),and histopathology.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)were used to detect the inflammatory cytokines.The malondialdehyde(MDA),glutathione,glutathione peroxidase,superoxide dismutase,and catalase were determined via commercial kits.Hepatocyte apoptosis was detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling assay.The expression of mRNA and protein was assayed by qPCR,Western blotting,or immunohistochemical staining.Results:After IPA treatment,the ALT and AST,apoptotic cells,and pro-inflammatory factor levels were enhanced significantly.Moreover,IPA intervention up-regulated the expression of collagen I,α-smooth muscle actin,tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1,matrix metalloproteinase-2,transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),Smad3,and phosphorylated-Smad2/3.Additionally,IPA intervention did not affect the MDA level.Attractively,the administration of IPA remodeled the gut flora structure.Conclusions:IPA aggravated CCl_(4)-induced liver damage and fibrosis by activating HSCs via the TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway. | Fei Liu Changfeng Sun Yuanfang Chen Fei Du Yuxiang Yang Gang Wu | 2021 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,6: | 5 |

| 8 | Effects of droplet size and spray volume parameters on droplet deposition of wheat herbicide application by using UAV显示文摘With the characteristic of flexible and precise,unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)for low volume applications are increasing substantially and quickly around the globe.However,little attention has been paid to the study of wheat herbicides with UAV,especially the research on the spray volume and droplet size of the herbicide sprayed by UAVs.The objectives of this study were to compare the droplet deposition from a typical commercial UAV under four different spray volumes of 7.5 L/hm2,15.0 L/hm2,22.5 L/hm2,and 30.0 L/hm2 and three different volume median diameter(VMD)of 150μm,200μm,and 300μm during winter wheat weeding period.DepositScan software was used to analyze droplet deposition parameters including the percentage of spray coverage and the number of droplets in various sampling positions.The test results showed that the droplet deposition waseffected by each factor andtheirinteractions.When the spray volume was 7.5 L/hm2,the effect of VMD on the percentage of spray coverage was not significant.However,these variation rules were changed to smaller droplets with greater coverage when the spray volume higher than 15.0 L/hm2.In all treatments,the number of droplets increased with decreasing VMD or increasing spray volume.The maximum percentage of spray coverage and the number of droplets that were achieved under the VMD of 150μm and the spray volume of 30.0 L/hm2 were 12.8%and 40.0 droplets/cm2,respectively.The variation coefficients of the percentage of spray coverage and the number of droplets were 29.0%-73.3%and 20.2%-54.1%,respectively.The most uniform deposition was achieved under the spray volume of 15.0 L/hm2and the VMD of 150μm.The results revealed the effect of droplet size and spray volume parameters on droplet deposition,which was useful for guiding farmers on how to use UAVs for weeding in winter wheat fields. | Changfeng Shan Guobin Wang Haihong Wang Yingjie Xie Huizheng Wang Shilong Wang Shengde Chen Yubin Lan | 2021 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,1: | 3 |
| 9 | Carboniferous ridge subduction in the Xingmeng Orogenic Belt:Constraints from geochronological,geochemical,and Sr-Nd-Hf isotopic analysis of strongly peraluminous granites and gabbro-diorites in the Xilinhot micro-continent显示文摘The Xingmeng Orogenic Belt evolved through a long-lived orogeny involving multiple episodes of subduction and accretion.However,there is a debate on its tectonic evolution during the Late Paleozoic.Here,we report geochemical,geochronological,and isotopic data from strongly peraluminous granites and gabbro-diorites from the Sunidzuoqi-Xilinhot region.Zircon U-Pb ages suggest that the intrusive rocks were emplaced during the Early Carboniferous(333-322 Ma).The granites exhibit geochemical characteristics similar to S-type granites,with high SiO_(2)(72.34-76.53 wt.%),Al_(2)O_(3)(12.45-14.65 wt.%),and A/CNK(1.07-1.16),but depleted Sr,Nb,and Ta contents.They exhibit positiveε_(Nd)(t)andε_(Hf)(t)values(-0.3 to 2.8 and 2.7-5.7,respectively)and young Nd and Hf model ages(T_(DM2)(Nd)=853-1110 Ma and T_(DM2)(Hf)=975-1184 Ma),suggesting that they may be the partial melting products of heterogeneous sources with variable proportions of pelite,psammite,and metabasaltic rocks.The meta-gabbro-diorites from the Maihantaolegai pluton have low SiO_(2)(47.06-53.49 wt.%)and K_2O(0.04-0.99 wt.%)contents,and demonstrate slight light rare earth element(REE)depletion in the chondritenormalized REE diagrams.They have high zirconε_(Hf)(t)values(14.41-17.34)and young Hf model ages(T_(DM2)(Hf)=230-418 Ma),indicating a more depleted mantle source.The variations of the Sm/Yb and La/Sm ratios can thus be used to assess the melting degree of the mantle source from 5%to 20%,suggesting a quite shallow mantle melting zone.We propose that the petrogenesis and distribution of the strongly peraluminous granites and gabbro-diorites,as well as the tectonic architecture of the region,can be explained by a ridge subduction model.Based on these results,and previous studies,we suggest a southward ridge subduction model for the Sunidzuoqi-Xilinhot region. | Changfeng Liu Zhiguang Zhou Guosheng Wang Chen Wu Hongying Li Shiwei Ma | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,3: | 2 |
| 10 | Crack propagation mechanism of γ-TiAl alloy with pre-existing twin boundary显示文摘The deformation and failure mechanisms of γ-TiAl alloy with pre-existing crack and twin boundary are investigated by using molecular dynamics simulation. The effects of the crack position on the deformation and failure mechanisms of γ-TiAl specimen are analysed through the snapshots of crack propagation, microstructure of crack tip and stress-strain curves. The simulation results show that the dislocation motion is impeded, the good ductility can be maintained and the strength would be improved simultaneously by the twin boundary. The microstructure evolution of crack tip would change with crack positions. Essentially,the deformation behaviour mainly results from the reaction of dislocation-dislocation, dislocation-twin and twin-twin. Besides,the hierarchical twin is a main plastic deformation mechanism leading to strength of γ-TiAl specimen enhancement with noncompromising ductility and strain hardening. Based on stress-strain curves, it can be concluded that the yield strength varies with crack positions. They are the determinant factors for variation of the yield strength with different crack positions such as dislocation behaviour, stacking fault and hierarchical twin. The ductile-brittle transition associated with the dislocation motion and the decohesion failure of crack tip atom can be observed from the lower boundary crack and the center crack models. The crack propagation caused by the coalescent of the void and the crack tip is the main failure mechanism of γ-TiAl specimen. | 13 | Surface defect-rich ceria quantum dots anchored on sulfur-doped carbon nitride nanotubes with enhanced charge separation for solar hydrogen production显示文摘Designing defect-engineered semiconductor heterojunctions can effectively promote the charge carrier separation.Herein,novel ceria(CeO2) quantum dots(QDs) decorated sulfur-doped carbon nitride nanotubes(SCN NTs) were synthesized via a thermal polycondensation coupled in situ depositionprecipitation method without use of template or surfactant.The structure and morphology studies indicate that ultrafine CeO2 QDs are well distributed inside and outside of SCN NTs offering highly dispersed active sites and a large contact interface between two components.This leads to the promoted formation of rich Ce^(3+) ion and oxygen vacancies as confirmed by XPS.The photocatalytic performance can be facilely modulated by the content of CeO2 QDs introduced in SCN matrix while bare CeO2 does not show activity of hydrogen production.The optimal catalyst with 10% of CeO2 loading yields a hydrogen evolution rate of 2923.8 μmol h-1 g-1 under visible light,remarkably higher than that of bare SCN and their physical mixtures.Further studies reveal that the abundant surface defects and the created 0 D/1 D junctions play a critical role in improving the separation and transfer of charge carriers,leading to superior solar hydrogen production and good stability. | Mengru Li Changfeng Chen Liping Xu Yushuai Jia Yan Liu Xin Liu | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,1: | 1 |
| 14 | XPS analysis of passive film formed on the G3 nickel-base alloy tubing under corrosive conditions显示文摘In the present study,the passive film formed on the G3 nickel-base alloy tubing under corrosive conditions including H_2S,CO_2,and Cl^- at 130℃and 205℃is studied with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The results reveal that the passive film formed at 205℃consists of Cr,Ni,Fe,S and O elements and is over 470 nm in thickness. | 18 | Direct H-He chemical association in superionic FeO_(2)H_(2)He at deep-Earth conditions显示文摘Hydrogen and helium are known to play crucial roles in geological and astrophysical environments;however,they are inert toward each other across wide pressure-temperature(P-T)conditions.Given their prominent presence and influence on the formation and evolution of celestial bodies,it is of fundamental interest to explore the nature of interactions between hydrogen and helium.Using an advanced crystal structure search method,we have identified a quaternary compound FeO_(2)H_(2)He stabilized in a wide range of P-T conditions.Ab initio molecular dynamics simulations further reveal a novel superionic state of FeO_(2)H_(2)He hosting liquid-like diffusive hydrogen in the FeO_(2)He sublattice,creating a conducive environment for H-He chemical association,at P-T conditions corresponding to the Earth’s lowest mantle regions.To our surprise,this chemically facilitated coalescence of otherwise immiscible molecular species highlights a promising avenue for exploring this long-sought but hitherto unattainable state of matter.This finding raises strong prospects for exotic H-He mixtures inside Earth and possibly also in other astronomical bodies. | Jurong Zhang Hanyu Liu Yanming Ma Changfeng Chen | 2022 | National Science Review2022,9,7: | 1 |
