| 2 | Development, chromosome location and genetic mapping of EST-SSR markers in wheat显示文摘A number of 151695 wheat expression sequence tags (ESTs) that originated from GenBank/dbEST from July 14, 2003 to August 24, 2004 were used to search for simple sequence repeats (SSRs) with motif 2―5 bp, and 2038 simple sequence repeats (EST-SSRs), which accounted for 1.34% of EST database, were identified. Based on these SSR sequences, 249 EST-SSR primer pairs and 166 amplified clear bands in various wheat cultivars were designed. These EST-SSR markers can be used as new molecular markers in wheat and related species. Using Chinese Spring nulli-tetrasomic lines, 93 EST-SSR primer pairs and 193 EST-SSR loci were located on 19 wheat chromosomes except for 4A and 4B. | 6 | Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Pulse MIG Welded 6061/A356 Aluminum Alloy Dissimilar Butt Joints显示文摘The microstructure and mechanical properties of pulse metal inert-gas(MIG) welded dissimilar joints between 4 mm thick wrought 6061-T6 and cast A356-T6 aluminum alloy plates were investigated. The tensile strength of the joints reached 235 MPa, which is 83% of that of 6061 aluminum alloy, and then decreased with the increase of travel speed while keeping other welding parameters constant. The microstructure, composition and fractography of joints were examined by the optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and electron probe microanalysis(EPMA). Grain boundary liquation and segregation occurred in the partially melted zone(PMZ) on 6061 aluminum alloy side, and brittle Fe-rich phases were observed in partially melted zone on A356 aluminum alloy side. The minimum microhardness appeared in heat-affected zone(HAZ) near A356 aluminum alloy substrate. | 9 | CO_2 adsorption performance of different amine-based siliceous MCM-41 materials显示文摘A series of amine-based adsorbents were synthesized using siliceous MCM-41 individually impregnated with four different amines(ethylenediamine(EDA),diethylenetriamine(DETA),tetraethylenepentamine(TEPA) and pentaethylenehexamine(PEHA)) to study the effect of amine chain length and loading weight on their CO2 adsorption performances in detail.The adsorbents were characterized by FT-IR,elemental analysis,and thermo-gravimetric analysis to confirm their structure properties.Thermo-gravimetric analysis was also used to evaluate the CO2 adsorption performance of adsorbents.Longer chain amine-based materials can achieve higher amine loadings and show better thermal stability.The CO2 adsorption capacities at different temperatures indicate that the CO2 adsorption is thermodynamically controlled over EDAMCM41 and DETA-MCM41,while the adsorption over TEPA-MCM41 and PEHA-MCM41 is under kinetic control at low temperature.The chain length of amines affects the CO2 adsorption performance and the adsorption mechanism significantly.The results also indicate that CO2 adsorption capacity can be enhanced despite of high operation temperatures,if appropriate amines(TEPA and PEHA) are applied.However,adsorbents with short chain amine exhibit higher adsorption and desorption rates due to the collaborative effect of rapid reaction mechanisms of primary amines and less diffusion resistance of shorter chain length amines. | Zhilin Liu Yang Teng Kai Zhang Honggang Chen Yongping Yang | 2015 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2015,24,3: | 5 |

Dorsomarginal kineties are formed, while sometimes lost. Oxytrichids tend to have overlapping characters, e.g. cell shape and size, infraciliature, pellicle features. This makes a great problem for genera separation. In the present work, all typical 18 frontal-ventral-transverse-cirri Oxytrichidae s. l. genera were revised systematically based on their living morphology, ciliature patterns and dorsal morphogenetic features. | 12 | Effect of Zhu-yuan decoction in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis after functional endoscopic sinus surgery显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness and safety of Zhu-yuan decoction(ZYD) in patients after functional endoscopic sinus surgery(FESS).METHODS: A total of 85 patients were randomized into two groups: 44 were treated with intranasal corticosteroids(INC), and 41 were given Chinese herbal medicine(CHM). Patients with chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS) who underwent FESS were prospectively enrolled in the study. Before surgery, they were evaluated by visual analog scale(VAS), nasal endoscopy, computed tomography(CT), and routine blood test. After surgery, they were randomized to take ZYD or INC for 12 weeks and revaluated by VAS; nasal endoscopy at 4, 8, and 12 weeks;and CT at 12 weeks after surgery.RESULTS: In the both groups, VAS and endoscopyscores decreased significantly at 4, 8, and 12 weeks,and CT scores after treatment declined at 12 weeks compared with baseline scores. | 13 | Expression of Neuropeptide Y in Human Pituitary Adenoma显示文摘OBJECTIVE Neurppeptide Y (NPY) acts as a neuroendocrine modulator in the anterior pituitary, and NPY mRNA and NPY-immunoreactivity have been detected in normal human anterior pituitaries. However, only a few studies of NPY expression in human pituitary adenomas have been published. Our study was conducted to determine whether or not adenoma-tous cells express NPY, to investigate the relationship between NPY expression and the subtypes of pituitary adenoma and to explore the clinical significance of NPY. METHODS The study included tissues from 58 patients with pituitary adenomas who underwent surgery because of their clinical diagnosis. Using a highly specific anti-NPY polyclonal antibody, immunohistochemi-cal analysis was performed on the surgically removed pituitary adenomas. Six fresh specimens also were examined using immuno-electron microscopy. NPY was labeled with colloidal gold in order to study the distribution of NPY at the subcellular level. RESULTS The NPY expression level was significantly different among subgroups of pituitary adenomas (P<0.05). NPY was immuno-detected in 58.6% of all adenomas, in 91.7% of gonadotrophic adenomas and in 14.3% of prolactinomas. NPY expression was slightly lower in invasive pituitary adenomas compared to noninvasive adenomas, but the difference was not significant (t=1.81, P>0.05). Of particular interest was the finding that vascular endothelial cells showed positive NPY expression in some pituitary adenomas. Parts of strongly positive tumor cells were seen in channels formed without endothelial cells, but which contained some red blood cells in a formation similar to so-called vasculogenic mimicry. Im-muno-electron microscopy demonstrated that 4 of the 6 fresh specimens displayed positive NPY staining with a high density of gold particles located mainly in the secretory granulas. In addition, gold particles were sparsely detected in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and cell matrix. CONCLUSION NPY exists in pituitary adenomas and its expression level was related to the types and biological characteristics of the pituitary adenomas. NPY may have a depressive effect on tumor cellular proliferation in pituitary adenomas. | 15 | IGF-1R inhibition induces MEK phosphorylation to promote survival in colon carcinomas显示文摘The insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor(IGF-1R)governs several signaling pathways for cell proliferation,survival,and antiapoptosis.Thus,targeting IGF-1R appears as a reasonable rationale for tumor treatment.However,clinical studies showed that inhibition of IGF-1R has very limited efficacy due to the development of resistance to IGF-1R blockade in tumor cells.Here,we discovered that prolonged treatment of colon cancer cells with IGF-1R inhibitors(BMS-754807 and GSK1838705A)stimulates p70 KDa ribosomal protein S6 kinase 1(p70S6K1)activation,a well-known kinase signaling for cell survival.We also found that p70S6K1 activation by IGF-1R inhibition is independent of K-Ras and PIK3CA mutations that frequently occur in colon cancer.Besides the increased p70S6K1 phosphorylation,the phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1 and 2(MEK1/2)was elevated in the cells treated with BMS-754807.Interestingly,the increases in MEK1/2 and p70S6K1 phosphorylation were also observed when cells were subjected to the treatment of AKT inhibitor or genetic knockdown of AKT2 but not AKT1,suggesting that AKT2 inhibition stimulates MEK1/2 phosphorylation to activate p70S6K1.Conversely,inhibition of MEK1/2 by MEK1/2 inhibitor(U0126)or knockdown of MEK1 and MEK2 by corresponding mek1 and mek2 siRNA enhanced AKT phosphorylation,indicating mutual inhibition between AKT and MEK.Furthermore,the combination of BMS-754807 and U0126 efficiently decreased the cell viability and increased cleaved caspase 3 and apoptosis in vitro and in vivo.Our data suggest that the treatment of colon tumor cells with IGF-1R inhibitors stimulates p70S6K1 activity via MEK1/2 to promote survival,providing a new strategy for colorectal cancer therapeutics. | Qing Wang Yan Zhang Jiang Zhu Honggang Zheng Shuntai Chen Li Chen Hsin-Sheng Yang | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 2 |

| 17 | Comparison of dimension reduction-based logistic regression models for case-control genome-wide association study:principal components analysis vs.partial least squares显示文摘With recent advances in biotechnology, genome-wide association study(GWAS) has been widely used to identify genetic variants that underlie human complex diseases and traits. In case-control GWAS, typical statistical strategy is traditional logistical regression(LR) based on single-locus analysis. However, such a single-locus analysis leads to the well-known multiplicity problem, with a risk of inflating type I error and reducing power. Dimension reduction-based techniques, such as principal component-based logistic regression(PC-LR), partial least squares-based logistic regression(PLS-LR), have recently gained much attention in the analysis of high dimensional genomic data. However, the perfor?mance of these methods is still not clear, especially in GWAS. We conducted simulations and real data application to compare the type I error and power of PC-LR, PLS-LR and LR applicable to GWAS within a defined single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) set region. We found that PC-LR and PLS can reasonably control type I error under null hypothesis.On contrast, LR, which is corrected by Bonferroni method, was more conserved in all simulation settings. In particular, we found that PC-LR and PLS-LR had comparable power and they both outperformed LR, especially when the causal SNP was in high linkage disequilibrium with genotyped ones and with a small effective size in simulation. | 18 | Effect of cooling rate on solidification structure and linear contraction of a duplex stainless steel显示文摘Cooling rate is a key factor that can drastically affect the phase transformation and thermal stress of duplex stainless steels. Therefore, in this research, different sand moulds were used to explore the influence of cooling rate on the solidification of the 2304 duplex stainless steel (DSS). The macro and micro structures of the 2304 DSS were investigated. Small equiaxed grains are obtained in chromite sand mould sample with a lower pouring temperature and a higher cooling rate, whereas coarse columnar and equiaxed grains are found in silica sand and refractory powder mould samples. The size of austenite phase is significantly increased with decreasing cooling rate, while the ferrite phase content ranging from 51.6% to 53.9% does not change obviously. | 19 | Extinction of the zero-phonon line and the first-order phonon sideband in excitonic luminescence of ZnO at room temperature: the self-absorption effect显示文摘It is firmly demonstrated in experiment that the self-absorption(SA) effect can lead to the extinction of the zero-phonon line and the first-order longitudinal optical phonon sideband of free excitonic luminescence of ZnO at room temperature. Moreover, effectiveness degree of SA effect is found to be dependent on both absorption coefficient and travelling distance of emitted photons, as well as even lattice temperature, which is uniquely reflected by the redshift amount in emission peak in ZnO. It is also unambiguously proved that the SA effect still strictly obeys the Beer-Lambert law of absorption.
