Collagen-binding basic fibroblast growth factor improves functional remodeling of scarred endometrium in uterine infertile women: a pilot study显示文摘Intrauterine adhesion(IUA) is a common cause of uterine infertility and one of the most severe clinical features is endometrial fibrosis namely endometrial scarring for which there are few cures currently. Blocked angiogenesis is the main pathological change in the scarred endometrium. The fibroblast growth factor 2(b FGF), a member of FGF family, is usually applied to promote healing of refractory ulcer and contributes to angiogenesis of tissues. In this study, the sustained-release system of b FGF100 μg was administrated around scarred endometrium guiding by ultrasound every 4 weeks in 18 patients(2–4 times). Results showed that after treatment, the menstrual blood volume, endometrial thickness and the scarred endometrial area were improved.Histological study showed blood vessel density increased obviously. Three patients(3/18) achieved pregnancy over 20 gestational weeks. Therefore, administrating the b FGF surrounding scarred endometrium may provide a new therapeutic approach for the patients with endometrial fibrosis.Peipei Jiang Xiaoqiu Tang Huiyan Wang Chenyan Dai Jing Su Hui Zhu Minmin Song Jingyu Liu Ziqing Nan Tong Ru Yaling Li Jingmei Wang Jun Yang Bing Chen Jianwu Dai Yali Hu 2019Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,12:16
Characteristics of secondary inorganic aerosol and sulfate species in size-fractionated aerosol particles in Shanghai显示文摘Sulfate, nitrate and ammonium(SNA) are the dominant species in secondary inorganic aerosol, and are considered an important factor in regional haze formation. Size-fractionated aerosol particles for a whole year were collected to study the size distribution of SNA as well as their chemical species in Shanghai. SNA mainly accumulated in fine particles and the highest average ratio of SNA to particulate matter(PM) was observed to be 47% in the fine size fraction(0.49–0.95 μm). Higher sulfur oxidation ratio and nitrogen oxidation ratio values were observed in PM of fine size less than 0.95 μm. Ion balance calculations indicated that more secondary sulfate and nitrate would be generated in PM of fine size(0.49–0.95 μm). Sulfur K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES) spectra of typical samples were analyzed. Results revealed that sulfur mainly existed as sulfate with a proportion(atomic basis) more than 73% in all size of PM and even higher at 90% in fine particles. Sulfate mainly existed as(NH4)2SO4 and gypsum in PM of Shanghai. Compared to non-haze days, a dramatic increase of(NH4)2SO4 content was found in fine particles on haze days only, which suggested the promoting impact of(NH4)2SO4 on haze formation. According to the result of air mass backward trajectory analysis, more(NH4)2SO4 would be generated during the periods of air mass stagnation. Based on XANES, analysis of sulfate species in size-fractionated aerosol particles can be an effective way to evaluate the impact of sulfate aerosols on regional haze formation.Shilei Long Jianrong Zeng Yan Li Liangman Bao Lingling Cao Ke Liu Liang Xu Jun Lin Wei Liu Guanghua Wang Jian Yao Chenyan Ma Yidong Zhao 2014Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,5:10
The design of HEPS global timing system显示文摘Purpose The high energy photon source(HEPS)is a 4th generation synchrotron light source under construction by the institute of high energy physics. The accelerator complex consists of a 500-MeV Linac,a full-energy synchrotron booster,a 6-GeV synchrotron storage ring(SR),and three e-beam transport lines for injection and extraction among accelerators.A global timing system(GTS)covers the timing needs for all accelerator, beamline, and experiment systems. The GTS is designed to coordinate the injection processes and various measurements and protections. Most systems require that the RMS jitter of the GTS signal is less than 30 ps,while the trigger jitters for the electron gun and SR injection and extraction kickers are less than 10 ps.Method The HEPS GTS is an event-based timing system based on MicroTCA.4 hardware architecture. The MicroTCA.4300 series products from the micro-research Finland Oy are implemented in the HEPS GTS system. Results and conclusions The RMS jitter, integrated from 1 Hz to 10 MHz,of the 166.6 MHz event clock is 5.489 ps.The RMS jitter of TTL outputs is less than 30 ps.This paper reports the design of the HEPS GTS,which satisfies all of the HEPS physics requirements for timing with preliminary test results shown.Fang Liu Ge Lei Zhe Duan Cai Meng Chenyan Lu Yanhua Shao Xinpeng Ma Nan Gan Yuemei Peng Jianshe Cao Chungming Chu Yanfeng Sui Jingyi Li IHEP 2021Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2021,5,3:1

Intestinal Barrier Function in the Pathogenesis of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease显示文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is the most common chronic liver disease worldwide. The mechanisms involved in NAFLD onset are complicated and multifactorial.Recent literature has indicated that altered intestinal barrier function is related to the occurrence and progression of liver disease. The intestinal barrier is important for absorbing nutrients and electrolytes and for defending against toxins and antigens in the enteric environment.Major mechanisms by which the intestinal barrier influences the development of NAFLD involve the altered epithelial layer, decreased intracellular junction integrity, and increased intestinal barrier permeability.Increased intestinal permeability leads to luminal dysbiosis and allows the translocation of pathogenic bacteria and metabolites into the liver, inducing inflammation, immune response, and hepatocyte injury in NAFLD.Although research has been directed to NAFLD in recent decades, the pathophysiological changes in NAFLD initiation and progression are still not completely understood, and the therapeutic targets remain limited.A deeper understanding on the correlation between NAFLD pathogenesis and intestinal barrier regulation must be attained. Therefore,in this review, the components of the intestinal barrier and their respective functions and disruptions during the progression of NAFLD are discussed.Lu Liu Minyue Yin Jingwen Gao Chenyan Yu Jiaxi Lin Airong Wu Jinzhou Zhu Chunfang Xu Xiaolin Liu 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,2:1
Analysis of COVID-19 Guideline Quality and Change of Recommendations:A Systematic Review显示文摘Background.Hundreds of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)clinical practice guidelines(CPGs)and expert consensus statements have been developed and published since the outbreak of the epidemic. However, these CPGs are of widely variable quality. So,this review is aimed at systematically evaluating the methodological and reporting qualities of COVID-19 CPGs,exploring factors that may influence their quality, and analyzing the change of recommendations in CPGs with evidence published.Methods.We searched five electronic databases and five websites from 1 January to 31 December 2020 to retrieve all COVID-19 CPGs.The assessment of the methodological and reporting qualities of CPGs was performed using the AGREE II instrument and RIGHT checklist.Recommendations and evidence used to make recommendations in the CPGs regarding some treatments for COVID-19(remdesivir,glucocorticoids,hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine,interferon,and lopinavir-ritonavir)were also systematically assessed. And the statistical inference was performed to identify factors associated with the quality of CPGs.Results.We included a total of 92 COVID-19 CPGs developed by 19 countries.Overall, the RIGHT checklist reporting rate of COVID-19 CPGs was 33.0%,and the AGREE II domain score was 30.4%.The overall methodological and reporting qualities of COVID-19 CPGs gradually improved during the year 2020.Factors associated with high methodological and reporting qualities included the evidence-based development process, management of conflicts of interest, and use of established rating systems to assess the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations. The recommendations of only seven(7.6%)CPGs were informed by a systematic review of evidence, and these seven CPGs have relatively high methodological and reporting qualities,in which six of them fully meet the Institute of Medicine(IOM)criteria of guidelines.Besides,a rapid advice CPG developed by the World Health Organization(WHO)of the seven CPGs got the highest overall scores in methodological(72.8%)and reporting qualities(83.8%).Many CPGs covered the same clinical questions(it refers to the clinical questions on the effectiveness of treatments of remdesivir,glucocorticoids,hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine,interferon,and lopinavirritonavir in COVID-19 patients)and were published by different countries or organizations.Although randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews on the effectiveness of treatments of remdesivir,glucocorticoids,hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine,interferon,and lopinavir-ritonavir for patients with COVID-19 have been published, the recommendations on those treatments still varied greatly across COVID-19 CPGs published in different countries or regions, which may suggest that the CPGs do not make sufficient use of the latest evidence.Conclusions.Both the methodological and reporting qualities of COVID-19 CPGs increased over time, but there is still room for further improvement. The lack of effective use of available evidence and management of conflicts of interest were the main reasons for the low quality of the CPGs.The use of formal rating systems for the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations may help to improve the quality of CPGs in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.During the pandemic,we suggest developing a living guideline of which recommendations are supported by a systematic review for it can facilitate the timely translation of the latest research findings to clinical practice. We also suggest that CPG developers should register the guidelines in a registration platform at the beginning for it can reduce duplication development of guidelines on the same clinical question, increase the transparency of the development process, and promote cooperation among guideline developers all over the world.Since the International Practice Guideline Registry Platform has been created, developers could register guidelines prospectively and internationally on this platform.Siya Zhao Shuya Lu Shouyuan Wu Zijun Wang Qiangqiang Guo Qianling Shi Hairong Zhang Juanjuan Zhang Hui Liu Yunlan Liu Xianzhuo Zhang Ling Wang Mengjuan Ren Ping Wang Hui Lan Qi Zhou Yajia Sun Jin Cao Qinyuan Li Janne Estill Joseph LMathew Hyeong Sik Ahn Myeong Soo Lee Xiaohui Wang Chenyan Zhou Yaolong Chen 2021Health Data Science2021,,1:1

Glucose-responsive,antioxidative HA-PBA-FA/EN106 hydrogel enhanced diabetic wound healing through modulation of FEM1b-FNIP1 axis and promoting angiogenesis显示文摘The diabetic wounds remain to be unsettled clinically, with chronic wounds characterized by drug-resistant bacterial infections, compromised angiogenesis and oxidative damage to the microenvironment. To ameliorate oxidative stress and applying antioxidant treatment in the wound site,we explore the function of folliculininteracting protein 1(FNIP1),a mitochondrial gatekeeper protein works to alter mitochondrial morphology, reduce oxidative phosphorylation and protect cells from unwarranted ROS accumulation. And our in vitro experiments showed the effects of FNIP1 in ameliorating oxidative stress and rescued impaired angiogenesis of HUVECs in high glucose environment. To realize the drug delivery and local regulation of FNIP1 in diabetic wound sites,a novel designed glucose-responsive HA-PBA-FA/EN106 hydrogel is introduced for improving diabetic wound healing.Due to the dynamic phenylboronate ester structure with a phenylboronic acid group between hyaluronic acid(HA)and phenylboronic acid(PBA),the hydrogel is able to realize a glucose-responsive release of drugs.Fulvic acid(FA)is added in the hydrogel, which not only severs as crosslinking agent but also provides antibacterial and anti-inflammatory abilities. Moreover, the release of FEM1b-FNIP1 axis inhibitor EN106 ameliorated oxidative stress and stimulated angiogenesis through FEM1b-FNIP1 axis regulation. These in vivo and in vitro results demonstrated that accelerated diabetic wounds repair with the use of the HA-PBA-FA/EN106 hydrogel, which may provide a promising strategy for chronic diabetic wound repair.Wenqian Zhang Kangkang Zha Yuan Xiong Weixian Hu Lang Chen Ze Lin Chenyan Yu Wu Zhou Faqi Cao Hankun Hu Bobin Mi Guohui Liu 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,12:0
Variability in fecal metabolome depending on age, PFBS pollutant, and fecal transplantation in zebrafish: A non-invasive diagnosis of health显示文摘To protect the wellbeing of research animals, certain non-invasive measures are in increasing need to facilitate an early diagnosis of health and toxicity. In this study, feces specimen was collected from adult zebrafish to profile the metabolome fingerprint.Variability in fecal metabolite composition was also distinguished as a result of aging, perfluorobutanesulfonate(PFBS)toxicant, and fecal transplantation. The results showed that zebrafish feces was very rich in a diversity of metabolites that belonged to several major classes, including lipid, amino acid, carbohydrate, vitamin, steroid hormone, and neurotransmitter.Fecal metabolites had functional implications to multiple physiological activities, which were characterized by the enrichment of digestion, absorption, endocrine, and neurotransmission processes. The high richness and functional involvement of fecal metabolites pinpointed feces as an abundant source of diagnostic markers.By comparison between young and aged zebrafish, fundamental modifications of fecal metabolomes were caused by aging progression, centering on the neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction pathway.Exposure of aged zebrafish to PFBS pollutant also significantly disrupted the metabolomic structure in feces.Of special concern were the changes in fecal hormone intermediates after PFBS exposure, which was concordant with the in vivo endocrine disrupting effects of PFBS.Furthermore, itwas intriguing that transplantation of young zebrafish feces efficientlymitigated the metabolic perturbation of PFBS in aged recipients, highlighting the health benefits of therapeutic strategies based on gut microbiota manipulation. In summary, the present study provides preliminary clues to evidence the non-invasive advantage of fecal metabolomics in the early diagnosis and prediction of physiology and toxicology.Baili Sun Mengyuan Liu Lizhu Tang Xiangzhen Zhou Chenyan Hu Lianguo Chen 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5:0
Effects of In-video Questions and Feedback on Learning Performance显示文摘The eye-tracking technology was used in this study to investigate the effects of embedded questions and feedback in instructional videos on learning performance and attention allocation and whether an expertise reversal effect existed. The experiment involved 49 learners with high-level prior knowledge and 45 ones with low-level prior knowledge from a university.Meanwhile, they learned instructional videos with no embedded feedback, embedded questions without feedback and embedded questions with feedback.Findings from the experiment showed that the instructional videos with embedded questions but without feedback not only improved the participants’attention but also enhanced their learning performance.Furthermore, there was an expertise reversal effect on the learning performance whereby instructional videos with embedded questions but without feedback improved the learning performance of learners with low-level prior knowledge, but not those with high-level prior knowledge.XIE Yaohui YANG Jiumin PI Zhongling DAI Chenyan LIU Caixia 2022Frontiers of Education in China2022,17,1:0
The Effects of Fertilizers on Rabbiteye Blueberry(Vaccinium ashei Reade.)Root Distribution and Fruit Yield显示文摘The root system plays an important role in the growth and development of blueberry. The aim of this study was to assess the impacts of different fertilizers on the root growth and root–yield relationship of blueberry to provide insight into the regulation of root growth and fruit yield by fertilizing from the perspective of the root system.Rabbiteye blueberry variety‘Britewell’as the test material, and six fertilizers, including BF,OR,CF,SF,HF,and RT were used in single-factor fertilization experiments to analyze the effects of different fertilizer treatments on the root morphology, root distribution, and fruit yield of blueberry.Fertilization overall increased the root length density and root surface area in most soil layers, and the RT treatment significantly increased the total root length density and total root surface area 98.6%and 98.5%,respectively,compared with a control lacking fertilizer. In addition, the effect of fertilization on the blueberry root system was mainly observed in the 0–20 cm layer.Fruit yield was positively correlated with total root length density and total root surface area, and negatively correlated with average root diameter. In summary, the SF and RT treatments increased the morphological indexes of the root system, particularly in the shallow soil layers, leading to an increase in blueberry fruit yield.Xiaolan Guo Chenyan Liu Muhammad Shakeel Delu Wang 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,6:0
Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines for Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy for Coronavirus Disease 2019(Beijing,2021)显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)can be caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection,and has led to millions of deaths among more than 100 million infected people around the world according to the declaration from World Health Organization.Dysregulated immune response of both the innate and adaptive immune systems is subsistent on COVID-19 patients,of which the degree are associated with disease severity, lung damage and long term functional disability.Current treatment options have included antiretroviral drugs,anti-inflammatory factors, antibodies, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and convalescent plasma therapy.More recently, mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)therapy has been explored for the management and control of COVID-19,particularly with the aim of preventing or at least mitigating respiratory co-morbidities.Though the safety and efficacy of stem cell therapy have been validated in multiple phase I–III clinical trials,to date,no standardized stem cell preparation, administration dosage or interval, product QA/QC testing, storage, transportation,or disposal protocols have been established. The present paper proposes a systematic methodology that addresses all the foregoing process steps and evaluation criteria for the efficacious and safe administration of MSCs in the treatment of patients infected with COVID-19.Ruonan Xu Lei Shi Wei-Fen Xie Zhe Xu Fan-Ping Meng Jun-Liang Fu Xin Yuan Lei Huang Ming Shi Yonggang Li Yuanyuan Li Chen Yao Yu Zhang Zhongmin Liu Chenyan Gao Zhaohui Wu Shufang Meng Weidong Han Charlie Xiang Gui-Qiang Wang Taisheng Li Xiaoying Wang Yunxia Sun Zunyou Wu Wenhong Zhang Chunhua Zhao Yu Hu Tao Cheng Yuquan Wei Qi Zhou Fu-Sheng Wang 2021Infectious Diseases & Immunity2021,1,2:0
Fingerprinting fecal DNA and mRNA as a non-invasive strategy to assess the impact of polychlorinated biphenyl 126 exposure on zebrafish显示文摘In toxicological studies, experimental animals are generally subjected to dissection to obtain the tissues of concern, which causes great harm to the animals. In this regard,it is necessary to test and develop a non-invasive strategy to prevent the animals from anthropic injury when achieving scientific objectives. Therefore, zebrafish fecal DNA and mR NA pools were assessed by using metagenomic and transcriptomic analyses based on their potential to diagnose toxicological impairment of polychlorinated biphenyl(PCB)126,a model persistent organic pollutant. The results showed that there was abundant zebrafish DNA and mR NA in the feces, which were, however, associated with contrasting profiles of physiological activities. As compared to DNA fragments, fecal mR NA provided a better representation of zebrafish physiological status.PCB126 exposure dramatically shifted the composition of fecal zebrafish DNA and m RNA as a function of sex.The differential m RNA caused by PCB126 clearly identified the toxicological fingerprint of PCB126.In summary, this study provides preliminary clues about the potential of fecal genes(mRNA in particular)in the development of non-invasive toxicological approaches. In the future,it is expected that more works will be conducted to screen sensitive diagnostic biomarkers from feces to increase the rate and reduce the cost of ecological risk assessment.Mengyuan Liu Yumiao Sun Lizhu Tang Chenyan Hu Baili Sun Zileng Huang Lianguo Chen 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,8:0
Multifunctional hydrogel enhances bone regeneration through sustained release of Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1αand exosomes显示文摘Fracture nonunion remains a great challenge for orthopedic surgeons.Fracture repair comprises of three phases, the inflammatory, repair and remodeling stage.Extensive advancements have been made in the field of bone repair, including development of strategies to balance the M1/M2 macrophage populations, and to improve osteogenesis and angiogenesis. However, such developments focused on only one or the latter two phases, while ignoring the inflammatory phase during which cell recruitment occurs. In this study,we combined Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1α(SDF-1α)and M2 macrophage derived exosomes(M2D-Exos)with a hyaluronic acid(HA)-based hydrogel precursor solution to synthesize an injectable,self-healing,adhesive HA@SDF-1α/M2D-Exos hydrogel. The HA hydrogel demonstrated good biocompatibility and hemostatic ability, with the 4%HA hydrogels displaying great antibacterial activity against gram-negative E.coli and gram-positive S.aureus and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA).Synchronously and sustainably released SDF-1αand M2D-Exos from the HA@SDF-1α/M2D-Exos hydrogel enhanced proliferation and migration of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell(HMSCs)and Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells(HUVECs),promoting osteogenesis and angiogenesis both in vivo and in vitro.Overall, the developed HA@SDF-1α/M2D-Exos hydrogel was compatible with the natural healing process of fractures and provides a new modality for accelerating bone repair by coupling osteogenesis, angiogenesis, and resisting infection at all stages.Lang Chen Chenyan Yu Yuan Xiong Kai Chen Pei Liu Adriana C.Panayi Xiufeng Xiao Qian Feng Bobin Mi Guohui Liu 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,7:0
Amorphous NH_(2)-MIL-68 as an efficient electro-and photo-catalyst for CO_(2)conversion reactions显示文摘To produce metal-organic framework(MOF)catalysts with both high activity and durability is interesting but challenging. We report an amorphous MOF(NH_(2)-MIL-68),which combines the advantages of(1)a large number of open metal sites,(2)the basic building blocks and connectivity of crystalline NH_(2)-MIL-68,and(3)hierarchically meso-and microporous structure. It exhibits high performances in electrocatalytic reduction of CO_(2)and photochemical cycloaddition of CO_(2)under mild conditions. For the former reaction, the maximum Faradaic efficiency for product formic acid(FEHCOOH)reaches 93.3%with a current density of 34.2 mA·cm^(−2)at^(−2).05 V vs.Ag/Ag+catalyzed by amorphous NH_(2)-MIL-68,while the crystalline NH_(2)-MIL-68 shows FEHCOOH of 67.7%with considerable productions of CO and H_(2)at the same experimental conditions. For the photochemical cycloaddition of CO_(2)with styrene oxide, the yield by amorphous NH_(2)-MIL-68 can reach 94.1%at 12 h,which is higher than the reported value under similar conditions. The structure–efficiency relationship of the catalyst for the two reactions was investigated. This work opens up new possibility for designing high-performance MOF and MOF-based catalysts.Lifei Liu Jianling Zhang Xiuyan Cheng Mingzhao Xu Xinchen Kang Qiang Wan Buxing Han Ningning Wu Lirong Zheng Chenyan Ma 2023Nano Research2023,16,1:0
