1Interaction of APT with BSA or HSA显示文摘In this work, N-n-amyl-N’-(sodium p- aminobenzenesulfonate) thiourea (APT) containing saturated fatty hydrocarbon group was synthesized. Fluorescence quenching methods in combination with UV absorption spectra and molecule modeling method were used to study the interaction between APT and bovine serum albumin (BSA) or human se-rum albumin (HSA). The binding constants of APT with BSA or HSA were determined at different tem-peratures under the optimum conditions based on the fluorescence quenching results. The binding characteristics of APT and BSA or HSA were reported and the binding sites were obtained. 2Dietary exposure to di-isobutyl phthalate increases urinary 5-methyl-2′-deoxycytidine level and affects reproductive function in adult male mice显示文摘Phthalates are a large family of ubiquitous environmental pollutants suspected of being endocrine disruptors. Epidemiological studies have associated phthalate metabolites with decreased reproductive parameters and linked phthalate exposure with the level of urinary 5-methyl-2′-deoxycytidine(5mdC, a product of methylated DNA). In this study, adult male mice were exposed to 450 mg di-isobutyl phthalate(DiBP)/(kg·day) via dietary exposure for 28 days. Mono-isobutyl phthalate(Mi BP, the urinary metabolite) and reproductive function parameters were determined. The levels of 5mdC and 5-hydroxymethyl-2′-deoxycytidine(5hmdC) were measured in urine to evaluate if their contents were also altered by DiBP exposure in this animal model. Results showed that DiBP exposure led to a significant increase in the urinary 5mdC level and significant decreases in sperm concentration and motility in the epididymis, accompanied with reduced testosterone levels and downregulation of the P450 cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme(P450scc) gene in the mice testes. Our findings indicated that exposure to DiBP increased the urinary 5mdC levels,which supported our recent epidemiological study about the associations of urinary 5mdC with phthalate exposure in the male human population. 4Properties of oxide films grown on 25Cr20Ni alloy in air-H_2O and H_2-H_2O atmospheres显示文摘The oxidation kinetics, surface morphology and phase structure of oxide films grown on 25Cr20Ni alloy in air-H2O and H2-H2O atmospheres at 900 °C for 20 h were investigated. The anti-coking performance and resistance to carburization of the two oxide films were compared using 25Cr20Ni alloy tubes with an inner diameter of 10 mm and a length of 850 mm in a bench scale naphtha steam pyrolysis unit. The oxidation kinetics followed a parabolic law in an air-H2O atmosphere and a logarithm law in a H2-H2O atmosphere in the steady-state stage. The oxide film grown in the air-H2O atmosphere had cracks where the elements Fe and Ni were enriched and the un-cracked area was covered with octahedral-shaped MnCr2O4 spinels and Cr1.3Fe0.7O3 oxide clusters, while the oxide film grown in the H2-H2O atmosphere was intact and completely covered with dense standing blade MnCr2O4 spinels. In the pyrolysis tests, the anti-coking performance and resistance to carburization of the oxide film grown in the H2-H2O atmosphere were far better than that in the air-H2O atmosphere. The mass of coke formed in the oxide film grown in the H2-H2O atmosphere was less than 10% of that in the air-H2O atmosphere. The Cr1.3Fe0.7O3 oxide clusters converted into Cr23C6 carbides and the cracks were filled with carbon in the oxide film grown in the air-H2O atmosphere after repeated coking and decoking tests, while the dense standing blade MnCr2O4 spinels remained unchanged in the oxide film grown in the H2-H2O atmosphere. 5Kinetics, thermodynamics, and equilibrium of As(Ⅲ),Cd(Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ) and Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption using porous chitosan bead-supported MnFe_(2)O_(4) nanoparticles显示文摘A novel porous nanocomposite,cross-linked chitosan and polyethylene glycol(PEG) bead-supported MnFe_(2) O_(4) nanoparticles(CPM),was developed as an efficient adsorbent to remove metalloid(As(Ⅲ))and heavy metals(Cd(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ),and Pb(Ⅱ)).The characteristics of CPM showed a porous structure,well dispersed MnFe_(2) O_(4),and several of hydroxyl and amino groups(-OH,-NH_(2)).Batch experiments demonstrated that the best adsorption property of As(Ⅲ),Cd(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ),and Pb(Ⅱ) was achieved within 8 h with maximum adsorption capacities of 9.90,9.73,43.94,and 11.98 mg/g,respectively.Competitive and synergistic effects(particularly precipitation) were included in the co-adsorption mechanism of As(Ⅲ) and heavy metals.Thereinto,As(Ⅲ) was partly oxidized by MnFe_(2) O_(4) to As(V),and both were coordinated on MnFe_(2) O_(4) nanoparticles.Pb(Ⅱ) could also bind to MnFe_(2) O_(4) by ion exchange and electrostatic attraction.Furthermore,Cd(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ) tended to be coordinated on chitosan.Therefore,CPM can serve as a remediation material for water and soil co-contaminated with As(Ⅲ) and heavy metals.Hongxia Li Hongbing Ji Xinglan Cui Xiaokui Che Qidong Zhang Juan Zhong Rongzhen Jin Lei Wang Yi Luo 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,6:2

7Long-Term Effects of Docosahexaenoic Acid-Bound Phospholipids and the Combination of Docosahexaenoic Acid-Bound Triglyceride and Egg Yolk Phospholipid on Lipid Metabolism in Mice显示文摘The bioavailability of docosahexaenoic acid(DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) depends on their chemical forms. This study investigated the long-term effects of DHA-bound triglyceride(TG-DHA), DHA-bound phospholipid(PL-DHA), and the combination of TG-DHA and egg yolk phospholipid(Egg-PL) on lipid metabolism in mice fed with a high-fat diet(fat levels of 22.5%). Male C57BL/6J mice were fed with different formulations containing 0.5% DHA, including TG-DHA, PL-DHA, and the combination of TG-DHA and Egg-PL, for 6 weeks. Serum, hepatic, and cerebral lipid concentrations and the fatty acid compositions of the liver and brain were determined. The concentrations of serum total triglyceride(TG), total cholesterol(TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-c), and hepatic TG in the PL-DHA group and the combination group were significantly lower than those in the high-fat(HF) group(P < 0.05). Atherogenic index(AI) of the PL-DHA group was significantly lower than that of the combination group(P < 0.05). Hepatic TC level in the combination group was significantly lower than that in the HF group(P < 0.05), but no significant difference was observed between the combination group and the PL-DHA group. Both the PL-DHA and the combination groups showed significantly increased DHA levels in the liver compared with the HF group(P < 0.05). However, there were no obvious increases in the cerebral DHA levels in all DHA diet groups. These results suggest that PL-DHA was superior to the combination of TG-DHA and Egg-PL in decreasing the AI. 9Astrocytic effect of low molecular weight heparin-superoxide dismutase conjugate in interleukin-6 overexpressing mice following local cerebral ischemia显示文摘BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that low molecular weight heparin-superoxide dismutase conjugate exhibits a remarkable neuroprotective effect. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of low molecular weight heparin-superoxide dismutase conjugate on astrocytes in an interleukin-6(IL-6) overexpressing mice following local cerebral ischemia. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:Randomized,cytological,controlled,animal study was performed in the Department of Physiology and Neuroscience,Neurology and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology,Medical University of South Carolina from January 2005 to March 2005. MATERIALS:Nine IL-6 transgenic mice,irrespective of gender,were randomly divided into three groups:sham-operated,model,and treatment,with three mice in each group.With exception of the sham-operated group,right middle cerebral artery occlusion was induced in the mice. Expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein,an astrocyte marker,was determined by immunohistochemistry.Low molecular weight heparin-superoxide dismutase conjugate was purchased from Biochemistry and Biotechnique Institute,Shandong University. METHODS:Two minutes prior to ischemia induction,0.5 mL/kg saline or 20 000 U/kg low molecular weight heparin-superoxide dismutase conjugate were administrated via the femoral artery in the model group and treatment group,respectively.The sham-operated group underwent the same protocols,with the exception of occlusion and treatment. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:The number of glial fibrillary acidic protein-positive cells was quantified under light microscopy(x200). RESULTS:In the sham-operated group,there were a large number of astrocytes in the IL-6 transgenic mice.However,the cell bodies were small,and the branches were few and thin.The number of astrocytes in the model group was remarkably less than the sham-operated group. Compared to the model and sham-operated groups,the number of astrocytes significantly increased,and the cell body became larger,following treatment with low molecular weight heparin-superoxide dismutase conjugate.Astrocytes exhibited hypertrophy and hyperplasia,and the processes became longer and thicker. 16Efficient CO_(2)Reduction to Formate on CsPbI_(3) Nanocrystals Wrapped with Reduced Graphene Oxide显示文摘Transformation of greenhouse gas(CO_(2))into valuable chemicals and fuels is a promising route to address the global issues of climate change and the energy crisis.Metal halide perovskite catalysts have shown their potential in promoting CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR),however,their low phase stability has limited their application perspective.Herein,we present a reduced graphene oxide(rGO)wrapped CsPbI_3 perovskite nanocrystal(NC)CO_(2)RR catalyst(CsPbI_3/rGO),demonstrating enhanced stability in the aqueous electrolyte.The CsPbI_3/rGO catalyst exhibited>92%Faradaic efficiency toward formate production at a CO_(2)RR current density of~12.7 mA cm^(-2).Comprehensive characterizations revealed the superior performance of the CsPbI_3/rGO catalyst originated from the synergistic effects between the CsPbI_3 NCs and rGO,i.e.,rGO stabilized theα-CsPbI_3 phase and tuned the charge distribution,thus lowered the energy barrier for the protonation process and the formation of~*HCOO intermediate,which resulted in high CO_(2)RR selectivity toward formate.This work shows a promising strategy to rationally design robust metal halide perovskites for achieving efficient CO_(2)RR toward valuable fuels.Minh Tam Hoang Chen Han Zhipeng Ma Xin Mao Yang Yang Sepideh Sadat Madani Paul Shaw Yongchao Yang Lingyi Peng Cui Ying Toe Jian Pan Rose Amal Aijun Du Tuquabo Tesfamichael Zhaojun Han Hongxia Wang 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,10:1

18High-Performance Cobalt Selenide and Nickel Selenide Nanocomposite Counter Electrode for Both Iodide/Triiodide and Cobalt(II/III)Redox Couples in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells显示文摘The nanocomposites of cobalt selenide and nickel selenide(Co_(0.85)Se/Ni_(0.85)Se)were successfully fabricated on FTO glass by a facile co-electrodeposition method at ambient temperature.Nanocomposite films were used as elec-trocatalysts in dye-sensitized solar cell counter electrodes for regeneration of both iodide/triiodide and cobalt(II/III)redox couples.Co_(0.85)Se/Ni_(0.85)Se were mainly composed of nanoflakes and nanoparticles.It is noted that such nanostructure generated by nanoparticles embedded with 2D nanoflakes led to high active sites and was accessible to cobalt(II/III)electrolyte,delivering better catalytic activity for the reduction of larger volume cobalt(II/III).As a result,for cobalt(II/III)electrolyte,the Co_(0.85)Se/Ni_(0.85)Se based dye-sensitized solar cell performed significantly im-proved efficiency than that of Pt and Co_(0.85)Se.Meanwhile,the Co_(0.85)Se/Ni_(0.85)Se based dye-sensitized solar cell held comparable energy conversion efficiency to that of Pt and Co_(0.85)Se for iodide/triiodide electrolyte.Zaiwei Wang Hongxia Xu Zhongyi Zhang Xinhong Zhou Shuping Pang Guanglei Cui 2014Chinese Journal of Chemistry2014,32,6:0
19Effects of low molecular weight heparin-superoxide dismutase conjugate on serum levels of nitric oxide,glutathione peroxidase,and myeloperoxidase in a gerbil model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘BACKGROUND:Several studies have demonstrated that low molecular weight heparin-superoxide dismutase (LMWH-SOD) conjugate may exhibit good neuroprotective effects on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury though anticoagulation,decreasing blood viscosity,having anti-inflammatory activity,and scavenging oxygen free radicals. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the intervention effects of LMWH-SOD conjugate on serum levels of nitric oxide (NO),glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px),and myeloperoxidase (MPO) following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING: A randomized,controlled,and neurobiochemical experiment was performed at the Institute of Biochemical Pharmacy,School of Pharmaceutical Sciences,Shandong University between April and July 2004. MATERIALS: A total of 60 Mongolian gerbils of either gender were included in this study. Total cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury was induced in 50 gerbils by occluding bilateral common carotid arteries. The remaining 10 gerbils received a sham-operation (sham-operated group). Kits of SOD,NO,and MPO were sourced from Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute,China. LMWH,SOD,and LMWH-SOD conjugates were provided by Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnique,Shandong University,China. METHODS: Fifty successful gerbil models of total cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury were evenly randomized to five groups: physiological saline,LMWH-SOD,SOD,LMWH + SOD,and LMWH. At 2 minutes prior to ischemia,0.5 mL/65 g physiological saline,20 000 U/kg LMWH-SOD conjugate,20 000 U/kg SOD,a mixture of SOD (20 000 U/kg) and LMWH (LMWH dose calculated according to weight ratio,LMWH: SOD=23.6:51),and LMWH (dose as in the LMWH + SOD group) were administered through the femoral artery in each above-mentioned group,respectively. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Serum levels of NO,MPO,and GSH-Px. RESULTS: Compared with 10 sham-operated gerbils,the cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury gerbils exhibited decreased serum levels of GSH-Px and increased serum levels of NO and MPO (P<0.01). The serum level of GSH-Px was significantly upregulated in all groups,in particular in the LMWH-SOD group (P<0.01),compared with the physiological saline group (P<0.05-0.01). Following medical treatment,serum levels of NO and MPO were significantly downregulated in all groups,in particular in the LMWH-SOD group (P<0.01). Serum levels of GSH-Px,NO,and MPO in the LMWH-SOD group were close to those in the sham-operated group (P > 0.05). 20Construction of a Cu@hollow TS-1 nanoreactor based on a hierarchical full-spectrum solar light utilization strategy for photothermal synergistic artificial photosynthesis显示文摘The artificial photosynthesis technology has been recognized as a promising solution for CO_(2) utilization.Photothermal catalysis has been proposed as a novel strategy to promote the efficiency of artificial photosynthesis by coupling both photochemistry and thermochemistry.However,strategies for maximizing the use of solar spectra with different frequencies in photothermal catalysis are urgently needed.Here,a hierarchical full-spectrum solar light utilization strategy is proposed.Based on this strategy,a Cu@hollow titanium silicalite-1 zeolite(TS-1)nanoreactor with spatially separated photo/thermal catalytic sites is designed to realize high-efficiency photothermal catalytic artificial photosynthesis.The space-time yield of alcohol products over the optimal catalyst reached 64.4μmol g−1 h−1,with the selectivity of CH3CH2OH of 69.5%.This rationally designed hierarchical utilization strategy for solar light can be summarized as follows:(1)high-energy ultraviolet light is utilized to drive the initial and difficult CO_(2) activation step on the TS-1 shell;(2)visible light can induce the localized surface plasmon resonance effect on plasmonic Cu to generate hot electrons for H2O dissociation and subsequent reaction steps;and(3)low-energy near-infrared light is converted into heat by the simulated greenhouse effect by cavities to accelerate the carrier dynamics.This work provides some scientific and experimental bases for research on novel,highly efficient photothermal catalysts for artificial photosynthesis.Sixian Zhu Qiao Zhao Hongxia Guo Li Liu Xiao Wang Xiwei Qi Xianguang Meng Wenquan Cui 2024Carbon Energy2024,6,2:0
