| 3 | Effects of raw material extrusion and steam conditioning on feed pellet quality and nutrient digestibility of growing meat rabbits显示文摘This study was conducted to investigate the effects of raw material extrusion and steam conditioning on feed pellet quality and nutrient digestibility of growing meat rabbits, in order to determine appropriate rabbit feed processing methods and processing parameters. In Exp. 1, an orthogonal design was adopted.Barrel temperature, material moisture content and feed rate were selected as test factors, and acid detergent fiber(ADF) content was selected as an evaluation index to research the optimum extrusion parameters. In Exp. 2. a two-factor design was adopted. Four kinds of rabbit feeds were processed and raw material extrusion adopted optimum extrusion parameters of Exp. 1. A total of 40 healthy and 42-day-old rabbits with similar weight were used in a randomized design, which consisted of 4 groups and 10 replicates in each group(1 rabbits in each replicate). The adaptation period lasted for 7 d, and the digestion trial lasted for 4 d. The results showed as follows: 1) ADF was significantly affected by barrel temperature(P < 0.05); the optimum extrusion parameters were barrel temperature 125℃, moisture content 16% and feed rate 9 Hz. 2) Raw material extrusion and steam conditioning both significantly decreased powder percentage, pulverization ratio and protein solubility(P < 0.05), significantly improved hardness and starch gelatinization degree of rabbit feed(P < 0.05). They both had significant interaction effects on the processing quality of rabbit feed(P < 0.05). 3) Extrusion significantly improved the apparent digestibility of dry matter and total energy(P < 0.05). Extrusion and steam conditioning both significantly improved the apparent digestibility of crude fiber(CF), ADF and NDF(P < 0.05), but they had no interaction effects on the apparent digestibility of rabbit feed. | 4 | An elevated preoperative serum calcium level is a significant predictor for positive peritoneal cytology in endometrial carcinoma显示文摘Objective:To evaluate preoperative serum calcium concentration and investigate the association between calcium level and positive peritoneal cytology in endometrial carcinoma(EC).Methods:A total of 510 patients who were diagnosed with EC and had surgery were initially enrolled in this study at Peking University People's Hospital between January 2012 and December 2016.Clinical characteristics and preoperative serum calcium,albumin,carbohydrate antigen(CA)125,CA19-9,carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)were extracted from patient records and evaluated according to postoperative peritoneal cytology.Predictive factors were assessed with Cox univariate and multivariate analyses.Factors selected from multivariate analysis results were used to build a predictive model.Results:A total of 510 patients are identified in our database and 444 patients who fulfilled inclusion and exclusion criteria are included in this study.Univariate analysis revealed that ionized calcium concentration was closely related to positive peritoneal cytology,tumor grade and lymph-vascular space invasion(LVSI).Moreover,peritoneal cytology was significantly associated with hypertension,tubal ligation,serum CA125,CA19-9,CEA and ionized calcium level.Multivariate analysis revealed that albumin-adjusted calcium level,CA125 and tubal ligation were independent predictive factors of positive peritoneal cytology(P<0.05).A combination of ionized calcium level with the other two indexes yielded significantly great area under the curve(AUC=0.824).Conclusions:This study enhanced the value of preoperative ionized calcium level.We also identified several potential biomarkers to predict positive peritoneal cytology in EC patients before surgery. | Xingchen Li Yuan Cheng Yangyang Dong Boqiang Shen Xiao Yang Jiaqi Wang Jingyi Zhou Jianliu Wang | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,6: | 3 |

| 13 | Detection of SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies in Oral Fluid Using a Magnetic Particle-Based Chemiluminescence Immunoassay-Beijing Municipality,China,2021显示文摘Introduction:Oral fluids(OFs)have been broadly used as non-invasive samples for evaluating protective IgG antibodies from natural infection or vaccination,especially in pediatric populations.Methods:Paired OF and serum were collected from both individuals who received a booster dose of the inactive coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccine as well as those who did not have a history of COVID-19 vaccination and infection(as the control group).The total human IgG antibody(HIgG)content was evaluated as a marker of OF sampling quality.An in-house adapted magnetic particle-based chemiluminescence immunoassay was used for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)IgG antibody detection in the OF.The SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody in the serum samples was detected using a commercial immunoassay.Results:In total,579 paired OF and serum samples were collected.An additional 172 OF samples were collected from preschool children.The results indicated that the HIgG concentration in qualified OF samples should be higher than 0.3μg/mL.Compared to the serum assay,the in-house OF immunoassay for detecting IgG antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 had 95.06%accuracy,95.03%sensitivity,and 100%specificity.Conclusions:Overall,the in-house immunoassay for detecting SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies in OF showed high potential for application towards serological surveillance and immunization effect assessment after large-scale,inactive COVID-19 vaccination in China. | Naiying Mao Mei Dong Zhen Zhu Qi Huang Xiali Yu Hui Xie Jianping Dong Jingyi Sun Fang Huang Wenbo Xu | 2022 | China CDC weekly2022,4,40: | 1 |
| 14 | Mating behaviors in ovoviviparous black rockfish(Sebastes schlegelii):molecular function of prostaglandin E2 as both a hormone and pheromone显示文摘Prostaglandins(PGs)are profound hormones in teleost sexual behavior,especially in mating.PGs act as pheromones that affect the olfactory sensory neurons of males,inducing the initiation of a series of mating behaviors.However,the molecular mechanism by which PGs trigger mating behavior in ovoviviparous teleosts is still unclear.In the present study,we employed the ovoviviparous black rockfish(Sebastes schlegelii),an economically important marine species whose reproductive production is limited by incomplete fertilization,as a model species.The results showed that when the dose of PGE2 was higher than 10 nmol/L,a significant(P<0.05)increase in mating behaviors was observed.Dual-fluorescence in situ hybridization indicated that PGE2 could fire specific neurons in different brain regions and receptor cells in the olfactory sac.After combining with specific neurons in the central nervous system(CNS),a series of genes related to reproduction are activated.The intracerebroventricular administration of PGE_(2) significantly increased lhb levels(P<0.05)in both sexes.Moreover,steroidogenesis in gonads was also affected,inducing an increase(P<0.05)in E_(2) levels in males and T levels in females.PGE_(2) levels were also increased significantly(P<0.05)in both sexes.The present study revealed that PGE2 can activate mating behavior in black rockfish in both hormone and pheromone pathways,leading to variations in sex steroid levels and activation of reproductive behaviors.Our results provide not only novel insight into the onset of mating behaviors in ovoviviparous teleosts but also solutions for the incomplete fertilization caused by natural mating in cage aquaculture. | Likang Lyu Yijia Yao Songyang Xie Xiaojie Wang Haishen Wen Yun Li Jianshuang Li Chenpeng Zuo Shaojing Yan Jingyi Dong Xin Qi | 2024 | Marine Life Science & Technology2024,6,1: | 0 |
| 15 | Rapid and label-free classification of pathogens based on light scattering,reduced power spectral features and support vector machine显示文摘The rapid identification of pathogens is crucial in controlling the food quality and safety.The proposed system for the rapid and label-free identification of pathogens is based on the principle of laser scattering from the bacterial microbes.The clinical prototype consists of three parts:the laser beam,photodetectors,and the data acquisition system.The bacterial testing sample was mixed with 10 mL distilled water and placed inside the machine chamber.When the bacterial microbes pass by the laser beam,the scattering of light occurs due to variation in size,shape,and morphology.Due to this reason,different types of pathogens show their unique light scattering patterns.The photo-detectors were arranged at the surroundings of the sample at different angles to collect the scattered light.The photodetectors convert the scattered light intensity into a voltage waveform.The waveform features were acquired by using the power spectral characteristics,and the dimensionality of extracted features was reduced by applying minimal-redundancy-maximal-relevance criterion(mRMR).A support vector machine(SVM)classifier was developed by training the selected power spectral features for the classification of three different bacterial microbes.The resulting average identification accuracies of E.faecalis,E.coli and S.aureus were 99%,87%,and 94%,respectively.The ove rall experimental results yield a higher accuracy of 93.6%,indicating that the proposed device has the potential for label-free identification of pathogens with simplicity,rapidity,and cost-effectiveness. | Mubashir Hussain Zhen Chen Mu Lv Jingyi Xu Xiaohan Dong Jingzhou Zhao Song Li Yan Deng Nongyue He Zhiyang Li Bin Liu | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,12: | 0 |

| 17 | Label-Free Virtual HER2 Immunohistochemical Staining of Breast Tissue using Deep Learning显示文摘The immunohistochemical(IHC)staining of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)biomarker is widely practiced in breast tissue analysis,preclinical studies,and diagnostic decisions,guiding cancer treatment and investigation of pathogenesis.HER2 staining demands laborious tissue treatment and chemical processing performed by a histotechnologist,which typically takes one day to prepare in a laboratory,increasing analysis time and associated costs.Here,we describe a deep learning-based virtual HER2 IHC staining method using a conditional generative adversarial network that is trained to rapidly transform autofluorescence microscopic images of unlabeled/label-free breast tissue sections into bright-field equivalent microscopic images,matching the standard HER2 IHC staining that is chemically performed on the same tissue sections.The efficacy of this virtual HER2 staining framework was demonstrated by quantitative analysis,in which three board-certified breast pathologists blindly graded the HER2 scores of virtually stained and immunohistochemically stained HER2 whole slide images(WSIs)to reveal that the HER2 scores determined by inspecting virtual IHC images are as accurate as their immunohistochemically stained counterparts.A second quantitative blinded study performed by the same diagnosticians further revealed that the virtually stained HER2 images exhibit a comparable staining quality in the level of nuclear detail,membrane clearness,and absence of staining artifacts with respect to their immunohistochemically stained counterparts.This virtual HER2 staining framework bypasses the costly,laborious,and time-consuming IHC staining procedures in laboratory and can be extended to other types of biomarkers to accelerate the IHC tissue staining used in life sciences and biomedical workflow. | Bijie Bai Hongda Wang Yuzhu Li Kevin de Haan Francesco Colonnese Yujie Wan Jingyi Zuo Ngan B.Doan Xiaoran Zhang Yijie Zhang Jingxi Li Xilin Yang Wenjie Dong Morgan Angus Darrow Elham Kamangar Han Sung Lee Yair Rivenson Aydogan Ozcan | 2022 | Biomedical Engineering Frontiers2022,3,1: | 0 |

| 20 | Control of Surface Wrinkles on Shape Memory PLA/PPDO Micro‑nanofibers and Their Applications in Drug Release and Anti‑scarring显示文摘Micro-and nano-fibers of shape memory polymers(SMP)offer multiple advantages like high specific surface area,poros-ity,and intelligence,and are suitable for biomedical applications.In this study,biodegradable poly(p-dioxanone)(PPDO)materials were incorporated to improve the brittleness of shape memory polylactic acid(PLA),and plasticizers were used to reduce the transition temperature of SMP composites such that their transitions could be induced close to body temperature.Furthermore,an electrostatic spinning technology was applied to prepare SMP fibers with wrinkled structures and regulate their microstructures and morphologies such that the intelligent transition of wrinkled and smooth morphologies can be achieved on the fiber surface.The application of this controllable-morphology fiber membrane in intelligent controlled drug release and scar inhibition after Ahmed Glaucoma Valve(AGV)implantation was also studied.The drug release from the stretched and deformed drug-loaded fiber membranes was faster than those from membranes with the original shape.This membrane with micro-and nano-fibers had good anti-scarring effects that improved after drug loading.The achievement of intelligent controlled drug release and the evident anti-scarring effects of the membrane broaden the application of SMP fibers in the biomedical field. | Lu Wang Jingyi Ma Tao Guo Fenghua Zhang Aimeng Dong Shiqi Zhang Yanju Liu Huiping Yuan Jinsong Leng | 2023 | Advanced Fiber Materials2023,5,2: | 0 |
