2Progress of regional oceanography study associated with western boundary current in the South China Sea显示文摘Recent progress of physical oceanography in the South China Sea (SCS) associated with the western boundary current (WBC) and eddies is reviewed in this paper. It includes Argo observations of the WBC, eddy detection in the WBC based on satellite images, cross-continental shelf exchange in the WBC, eddy-current interaction, interannual variability of the WBC, air-sea interaction, the SCS throughflow (SCSTF), among others. The WBC in the SCS is strong, and its structure, variability and dynamic processes on seasonal and interannual time scales are yet to be fully understood. In this paper, we summarize progresses on the variability of the WBC, eddy-current interaction, air-sea interaction, and the SCSTF achieved in the past few years. Firstly, using the drifting buoy observations, we point out that the WBC becomes stronger and narrower after it reaches the central Vietnam coast. The possible mechanisms influencing the ocean circulation in the northern SCS are discussed, and the dynamic mechanisms that induce the countercurrent in the region of northern branch of WBC in winter are also studied quantitatively using momentum balance. The geostropic component of the WBC was diagnosed using the ship observation along 18°N, and we found that the WBC changed significantly on interannual time scale. Secondly, using the ship observations, two anti-cyclonic eddies in the winter of 2003/2004 in the northern SCS, and three anti-cyclonic eddies in the summer of 2007 along 18°N were studied. The results show that the two anti-cyclonic eddies can propagate southwestward along the continental shelf at the speed of first Rossby wave (~0.1 ms-1 ) in winter, and the interaction between the three anti-cyclonic eddies in summer and the WBC in the SCS is preliminarily revealed. Eddies on the continental shelf of northern SCS propagated southeastward with a maximum speed of 0.09 ms-1 , and those to the east of Vietnam coast had the largest kinetic energy, both of which imply strong interaction between eddy activity and WBC in the SCS. Thirdly, strong intraseasonal variability (ISV) of sea surface temperature (SST) near the WBC regions was found, and the ISV signal of SST in winter weakens the ISV signal of latent heat flux by 20%. 4Mechanistic studies of the transport of peimine in the Caco-2 cell model显示文摘Fritillaria thunbergii Miq. has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for its expectorant, antitussive, antiinflammatory and analgesic properties. Moreover, modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that F. thunbergii Miq. has efficacy in the treatment of leukemia and cancers of the liver and cervix. Although the alkaloid, peimine, is largely responsible for these pharmacological effects, it has very low oral bioavailability. The aim of this study was to investigate the intestinal absorption of peimine in Caco-2 cell monolayers. Having demonstrated that peimine is non-toxic to Caco-2 cells at concentrations o200 μmol/L, the effect of peimine concentration, p H, temperature, efflux transport protein inhibitors and EDTA-Na_2 on peimine transport were studied. The results show that peimine transport is concentration-dependent; that at p H 6.0 and 7.4, the P_(app(AP-BL))of peimine is not significantly different but the Papp(BL-AP)) is; that both Papp(AP-BL)and P_(app(BL-AP))at 4 1C are significantly higher than their corresponding values at 37 1C; that the P-glycoprotein(P-gp) inhibitors, verapamil and cyclosporin A, increase absorption of peimine; and that EDTA-Na2 has no discernible effect. 5Improved film evaporator for mechanistic understanding of microwave-induced separation process显示文摘Microwave-induced film evaporation separation process has been reported recently to separate the polar/nonpolar mixture.However,the efficiency of the separation is still too low for practical applications,which requires further enhancement via different strategies such as optimization design of evaporator structure.In addition the depth understanding of the separation mechanisms is great importance for better utilization of the microwaveinduced separation process.To carry out these investigations,a novel microwave-induced falling film evaporation instrument was developed in this paper.The improvement of the enhancement effect of microwave-induced separation was observed based on the improved film evaporator.The systematic experiments on microwave-induced separation with different binary azeotropic mixtures(ethanol-ethyl acetate system and dimethyl carbonate(DMC)-H20 system)were conducted based on the new evaporator.For the ethanol-ethyl acetate system,microwave irradiation shifted the direction of evaporation separation at higher ethanol content in the starting liquid mixture.Moreover,for DMC-H20 system microwaveinduced separation process broke through the limitations of the traditional distillation process.The results clearly demonstrated the microwave-induced evaporation separation process could be commendably applied to the separation of binary azeotrope with different dielectric properties.Effects of operating parameters are also investigated to trigger further mechanism understanding on the microwave-induced separation process.Xin Gao Dandan Shu Xingang Li Hong Li 2019Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2019,13,4:7
6Distribution and risk factors of hand, foot, and mouth disease in Changchun, northeastern China显示文摘Hand,foot,and mouth disease(HFMD)is a public health problem,and there have been increasing numbers of outbreaks in China's Mainland since 2008.Over17,000 HFMD cases have been reported in Changchun between 2008 and 2011.This study characterized the temporal and spatial distribution of the disease and identified the risk factors for HFMD.The main findings were as follows:(i)there were significant differences in HFMD incidence among age groups,with 86.8%of reported cases in children younger than 5 years old,and boys showed a higher incidence than girls(\6 years);(ii)The disease affected the whole region and spanned a large geographic area,but there was a higher incidence in urban areas(median=242 per 10,000 persons)and urban–rural border areas(median=135 per 10,000 persons),compared with rural areas(median=75 per 10,000 persons);and(iii)the incidence of HFMD in Changchun was significantly associated with the distance to the nearest freeway,GDP per capita,and the type of township.Li Yan Xinlou Li Yaqin Yu Sake J.de Vlas Yapin Li Dandan Wang Yanli Li Yuan Yin Jing Wu Hong Liu Hong Yang Bo Li Liqun Fang Wuchun Cao 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,5:7
7Epidemiology of urticaria in China:a population-based study显示文摘Background:Urticaria is a common skin disease characterized by episodes of wheals,and it has a negative effect on patients’quality of life.Large-scale population-based epidemiological studies of urticaria are scarce in China.The aim of this survey was to determine the prevalence,clinical forms,and risk factors of urticaria in the Chinese population.Methods:This survey was conducted in 35 cities from 31 provinces,autonomous regions,and municipalities of China.Two to three communities in each city were selected in this investigation.Participants completed questionnaires and received dermatological examinations.We analyzed the prevalence,clinical forms,and risk factors of urticaria.Results:In total,44,875 questionnaires were distributed and 41,041 valid questionnaires were collected(17,563 male and 23,478 female participants).The lifetime prevalence of urticaria was 7.30%,with 8.26%in female and 6.34%in male individuals(P<0.05).The point prevalence of urticaria was 0.75%,with 0.79%in female and 0.71%in male individuals(P<0.05).Concomitant angioedema was found in 6.16%of patients.Adults had a higher prevalence of urticaria than adolescents and children.Living in urban areas,exposure to pollutants,an anxious or depressed psychological status,a personal and family history of allergy,thyroid diseases,and Helicobacter pylori infection were associated with a higher prevalence of urticaria.Smoking was correlated with a reduced risk of urticaria.Conclusion:This study demonstrated that the lifetime prevalence of urticaria was 7.30%and the point prevalence was 0.75%in the Chinese population;women had a higher prevalence of urticaria than men.Various factors were correlated with urticaria.Jiaqing Li Dandan Mao Shuoshuo Liu Ping Liu Jing Tian Chenhong Xue Xiaojing Liu Ruiqun Qi Bingxue Bai Jianjun Nie Siqi Ye Yu Wang Yuye Li Qing Sun Juan Tao Shuping Guo Hong Fang Jianqin Wang Qiri Mu Quanzhong Liu Yan Ding Jianzhong Zhang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,11:6
8A comparative study of hydrothermal aging effect on cerium and lanthanum doped Cu/SSZ-13 catalysts for NH_(3)-SCR显示文摘Ce-or La-doped Cu/SSZ-13 catalysts were prepared by a hydrothermal method and Cu,Ce or La ions were incorporated through stepwise ion exchange,The catalyst activity was measured for the ammonia selective catalytic reduction reaction.The structure and composition of catalyst were characterized by using X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry solid-state NMR,NH_(3)-TPD techniques,and the active components were examined by XPS and XANES.The results indicate that the Ce and La doping can both completely preserve the SCR activity of Cu/SSZ-13 above 300℃,but there is also a decrease of activity below 200℃.On the other hand,Ce doping is beneficial to the formation of framework aluminum,stabilizes molecular sieve framework and Cu active sites of Cu/SSZ-13,thereby improves the catalyst hydrothermal stability.But La doping will decrease the amount of framework aluminum and Cu active sites of Cu/SSZ-13 after hydrothermally aging,even destroy zeolite CHA structure.This is quite harmful to the catalyst hydrothermal stability.Di Deng Shujun Deng Dandan He Zhiheng Wang Zhipeng Chen Yi Ji Guoping Yan Guangjin Hou Licheng Liu Hong He 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,8:5

10Gender Role,But Not Sex,Shapes Humans’Susceptibility to Emotion显示文摘It is unknown whether the famous sex-related difference in emotion processing is accounted for by biological sex,gender role,or their interaction.To clarify the issue,in Study 1 we recorded event-related potentials in response to negative and positive images of diverse intensities when 47 masculine(26 males)and 47 feminine(22 males)subjects performed a non-emotional task.The occipital P1 and N1 amplitudes were larger in women than in men,while feminine subjects showed larger N1 amplitudes than masculine subjects,regardless of sex.Moreover,feminine subjects showed enhanced frontocentral N2(210–270 ms)amplitudes for highly and mildly negative than for neutral stimuli,while masculine subjects showed an emotion effect only for highly negative stimuli.The feminine-specific effect for mildly negative stimuli was positively correlated to the feminine score,and this correlation was located to the anterior cingulate and the superior and medial frontal gyri.Furthermore,feminine but not masculine subjects showed enhanced parietal P3(330–560 ms)amplitudes for highly and mildly positive than for neutral stimuli,an effect positively related to the feminine score and localized to the precuneus,posterior cingulate,and superior temporal gyrus.Machine learning analyses verified that single-trial N2 and P3 amplitudes of feminine subjects reliably discriminated the intensity of negative and positive stimuli,respectively.For ecological considerations,in Study 2 we used an observational approach(n=300)and confirmed that feminine gender role,rather than biological sex,predicted individual differences in daily experience of emotion-related psychopathological symptoms.These findings provide solid evidence for the critical impact of gender role rather than sex on emotional susceptibility.Jiajin Yuan Hong Li Quanshan Long Jiemin Yang Tatia M.C.Lee Dandan Zhang 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,2:4
11Association between fluid-attenuated inversion recovery vascular hyperintensity and outcome varies with different lesion patterns in patients with intravenous thrombolysis显示文摘Background and purpose To evaluate relationship between fluid-attenuated inversion recovery vascular hyperintensity(FVH)after intravenous thrombolysis and outcomes in different lesion patterns on diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI).Methods Patients with severe internal carotid or intracranial artery stenosis who received intravenous thrombolysis from March 2012 to April 2019 were analysed.They were divided into four groups by DWI lesion patterns:border-zone infarct(BZ group),multiple lesions infarct(ML group),large territory infarct(LT group),and single cortical or subcortical lesion infarct(SL group).Logistic regression was performed to identify risk factors for outcome(unfavourable outcome,modified Rankin Scale(mRS)≥2;poor outcome,mRS≥3).Results Finally,203 participants(63.3±10.2 years old;BZ group,n=72;ML group,n=64;LT group,n=37;SL group,n=30)from 1190 patient cohorts were analysed.After adjusting for confounding factors,FVH(+)was associated with unfavourable outcome in total group(OR 3.02;95%CI 1.49 to 6.13;p=0.002),BZ group(OR 4.22;95%CI 1.25 to 14.25;p=0.021)and ML group(OR 5.44;95%CI 1.41 to 20.92;p=0.014)patients.FVH(+)was associated with poor outcome in total group(OR 2.25;95%CI 1.01 to 4.97;p=0.046),BZ group(OR 5.52;95%CI 0.98 to 31.07;p=0.053)and ML group(OR 4.09;95%CI 1.04 to 16.16;p=0.045)patients,which was marginal significance.FVH(+)was not associated with unfavourable or poor outcome in LT and SL groups.Conclusion This study suggests that association between FVH and outcome varies with different lesion patterns on DWI.The presence of FVH after intravenous thrombolysis may help to identify patients who require close observations in the hospitalisation in patients with border-zone and multiple lesion infarcts.Erling Wang Chuanjie Wu Dandan Yang Xihai Zhao Jie Zhao Hong Chang Qi Yang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,3:3
12Additively manufactured pure zinc porous scaffolds for critical-sized bone defects of rabbit femur显示文摘Additive manufacturing has received attention for the fabrication of medical implants that have customized and complicated structures.Biodegradable Zn metals are revolutionary materials for orthopedic implants.In this study,pure Zn porous scaffolds with diamond structures were fabricated using customized laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)technology.First,the mechanical properties,corrosion behavior,and biocompatibility of the pure Zn porous scaffolds were characterized in vitro.The scaffolds were then implanted into the rabbit femur critical-size bone defect model for 24 weeks.The results showed that the pure Zn porous scaffolds had compressive strength and rigidity comparable to those of cancellous bone,as well as relatively suitable degradation rates for bone regeneration.A benign host response was observed using hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining of the heart,liver,spleen,lungs,and kidneys.Moreover,the pure Zn porous scaffold showed good biocompatibility and osteogenic promotion ability in vivo.This study showed that pure Zn porous scaffolds with customized structures fabricated using L-PBF represent a promising biodegradable solution for treating large bone defects.Dandan Xia Yu Qin Hui Guo Peng Wen Hong Lin Maximilian Voshage Johannes Henrich Schleifenbaum Yan Cheng Yufeng Zheng 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,1:2

15Enhanced peroxidase-like activity of hierarchical MoS2-decorated N-doped carbon nanotubes with synergetic effect for colorimetric detection of H2O2 and ascorbic acid显示文摘The exploitation of multifunctional nanocomposites is highly desired in environmental monitoring,biosensors,and medical diagnosis.In this paper,a simple approach has been proposed to fabricate MoS2 decorated N-doped carbon nanotubes(NCNTs@MoS2)hybrid composites as efficient peroxidase-like mimics.The combination of the MoS2 and N-doped carbon nanotubes(NCNTs)brings about an enhanced synergistic effect,leading to remarkably decent intrinsic peroxidase-mimic activities than that of the single components.Due to the high catalytic efficiency of the resultant NCNTs@MoS2 hybrid nanotubes as peroxidase-like mimics,a co nvenient colorimetric approach for the sensitive determination of H2 O2 and ascorbic acid have been developed with a detection limit of about 0.14μmol/L and 0.12μmol/L,respectively.The work offers a new strategy for the fabrication of peroxidase-like nanomaterials with excellent catalytic activity,which indicates great promising applications in sensitive detections in real samples.Jing Zheng Dandan Song Hong Chen Jingli Xu Njud SAlharbi Tasawar Hayat Min Zhang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:1

18Environmental Sustainability of Water Footprint in China' Mainland显示文摘Water footprint(WF)measures human appropriation of water resources for consumptive use of surface and ground water(blue WF)and soil water(green WF)and for assimilating polluted water(grey WF).Questions have been often asked about the exact meaning behind the numbers from WF accounting.However,to date environmental sustainability of WF has never been assessed at the sub-national level over time.This study evaluated the environmental sustainability of blue,green and grey WF for China’s 31 mainland provinces in 2002,2007 and 2012,and identified the unsustainable hotspots.Overall,the total WF increased by 30%between 2002 and 2012.The growth can be attributed to the increase of grey WF because the green and blue WF showed only a slight rise.Among all provinces investigated in 2012,eleven showed unsustainable blue WF(sustainability index SI<0),which were mainly located in the North China Plain.There were 12 provinces that displayed unsustainable green WF,and they were distributed in China’s southern and southeastern areas.The grey WF was not sustainable in approximately two third of provinces(19),which were mainly located in China’s middle and northern regions and Guangdong province.More than half of China’s provinces showed trends of improved SI of green and blue WF from 2002 to 2012.However,the SI of grey WF decreased in almost two third of provinces.Poor levels of WF sustainability were due to water scarcity and pollution,which intensify the degradation of local rivers and ecosystems and make restoration more difficult.The results shed light on the policy making needed to improve sustainable water management,and ecological restoration of hotspot regions.Junguo Liu Dandan Zhao Ganquan Mao Wenhui Cui He Chena Hong Yang 2020Geography and Sustainability2020,1,1:1
