1Lira-YOLO: a lightweight model for ship detection in radar images显示文摘For the detection of marine ship objects in radar images, large-scale networks based on deep learning are difficult to be deployed on existing radar-equipped devices. This paper proposes a lightweight convolutional neural network, LiraNet, which combines the idea of dense connections, residual connections and group convolution, including stem blocks and extractor modules.The designed stem block uses a series of small convolutions to extract the input image features, and the extractor network adopts the designed two-way dense connection module, which further reduces the network operation complexity. Mounting LiraNet on the object detection framework Darknet, this paper proposes Lira-you only look once(Lira-YOLO), a lightweight model for ship detection in radar images, which can easily be deployed on the mobile devices. Lira-YOLO's prediction module uses a two-layer YOLO prediction layer and adds a residual module for better feature delivery. At the same time, in order to fully verify the performance of the model, mini-RD, a lightweight distance Doppler domain radar images dataset, is constructed. Experiments show that the network complexity of Lira-YOLO is low, being only 2.980 Bflops, and the parameter quantity is smaller, which is only 4.3 MB. The mean average precision(mAP) indicators on the mini-RD and SAR ship detection dataset(SSDD) reach 83.21% and 85.46%, respectively,which is comparable to the tiny-YOLOv3. 2Effect of electroacupuncture on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with malignant tumor:a single-blinded,randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN), quality of life and immune status of patients with malignant tumors.METHODS:From Jan, 2013 to May, 2014, 37 patients with malignant tumors were included in this prospective single-blinded study, and randomized to receive either electroacupuncture or acupuncture treatment on basis of chemotherapy.The chemotherapy was continued for 2 courses as previous before the treatments, with 21 days as a course of treatment.Patients received acupuncture and electroacupuncture once per day starting at the day before chemotherapy for consecutive 7 days followed by 14 days off, with 21 days as a course of treatment, and continued for two courses of treatment.Then CIPN, traditional Chinese clinical symptoms,quality of life and immune status were all evaluated for each patient prior treatment and after two courses of treatment.RESULTS:The gender, age, cancer species as well as incidence(83.3% vs 84.2%) and grades of CIPN before treatments were all similar in patients receiving acupuncture or electroacupuncture(all P >0.05).After treatments, most patients with peripheral neuropathy were cured by two courses of electroacupuncture(84.2% vs 21.1%), whereas the other group of patients had similar incidences of peripheral neuropathy compared with prior-acupuncture(83.3% vs 72.2%).Besides, patients receiving electroacupuncture had lower incidence of peripheral neuropathy than those receiving acupuncture treatment(χ~2= 9.745, P = 0.002).The grades of peripheral neuropathy were significantly different in the two groups post-treatment(χ~2= 13.983, P =0.007).The total effective rates for traditional Chinese clinical symptoms were 16.7% and 84.2% in acupuncture and electroacupuncture groups, respectively(Z =-4.239, P < 0.001).The electroacupuncture treatment provided a more satisfactory life for patients compared with acupuncture(Z =-4.76, P < 0.001).Both electroacupuncture and acupuncture had no effects on immune function.CONCLUSION:Electroacupuncture could alleviate CIPN, and improve traditional Chinese clinical symptoms and quality of life, but did not affect immune function.Zhang Shiqiang Wu Tingting Zhang Haisheng Yang Yun Jiang Haiyan Cao Shengcheng Xie Fang Xia Xiaoting Lü Junqiang Zhong Yi 2017Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,2:7
3Serum semaphorin 4C as a diagnostic biomarker in breast cancer:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:To date,there is no approved blood-based biomarker for breast cancer detection.Herein,we aimed to assess semaphorin 4C(SEMA4C),a pivotal protein involved in breast cancer progression,as a serum diagnostic biomarker.Methods:We included 6,213 consecutive inpatients from Tongji Hospital,Qilu Hospital,and Hubei Cancer Hospital.Training cohort and two validation cohorts were introduced for diagnostic exploration and validation.A pan-cancer cohort was used to independently explore the diagnostic potential of SEMA4C among solid tumors.Breast cancer patients who underwent mass excision prior to modified radical mastectomy were also analyzed.We hypothesized that increased pretreatment serum SEMA4C levels,measured using optimized in-house enzymelinked immunosorbent assay kits,could detect breast cancer.The endpoints were diagnostic performance,including area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity.Post-surgery pathological diagnosis was the reference standard and breast cancer staging followed the TNM classification.There was no restriction on disease stage for eligibilities.Results:We included 2667 inpatients with breast lesions,2378 patients with other solid tumors,and 1168 healthy participants.Specifically,118 patients with breast cancer were diagnosed with stage 0(5.71%),620 with stage I(30.00%),966 with stage II(46.73%),217 with stage III(10.50%),and 8 with stage IV(0.39%).Patients with breast cancer had significantly higher serum SEMA4C levels than benign breast tumor patients and normal controls(P<0.001).Elevated serum SEMA4C levels had AUC of 0.920(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.900–0.941)and 0.932(95%CI:0.911–0.953)for breast cancer detection in the two validation cohorts.The AUCs for detecting early-stage breast cancer(n=366)and ductal carcinoma in situ(n=85)were 0.931(95%CI:0.916–0.946)and 0.879(95%CI:0.832–0.925),respectively.Serum SEMA4C levels significantly decreased after surgery,and the reduction was more striking after modified radical mastectomy,compared with mass excision(P<0.001).The positive rate of enhanced serum SEMA4C levels was 84.77%for breast cancer and below 20.75%for the other 14 solid tumors.Conclusions:Serum SEMA4C demonstrated promising potential as a candidate biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis.However,validation in prospective settings and by other study groups is warranted.Ya Wang Long Qiao Jie Yang Xiong Li Yaqi Duan Jiahao Liu Shaoqi Chen Huayi Li Dan Liu Tian Fang Jingjing Ma Xiaoting Li Fei Ye Junxiang Wan Juncheng Wei Qin Xu Ensong Guo Ping Jin Mingfu Wu Lin Zhang Yun Xia Yaqun Wu Jun Shao Yaojun Feng Qing Zhang Zongyuan Yang Gang Chen Qinghua Zhang Xingrui Li Shixuan Wang Junbo Hu Xiaoyun Wang Mona P.Tan Kazuaki Takabe Beihua Kong Qifeng Yang Ding Ma Qinglei Gao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,12:3
4Urinary analysis reveals high Alternaria mycotoxins exposure in the general population from Beijing, China显示文摘Alternaria mycotoxins are of concern due to its adverse health effect, they affect various cereal crops and grain-based food along with modified forms that contribute to overall exposure. This study aimed to determine the frequency and level of exposure to Alternaria mycotoxins(tenuazonic acid, TeA;alternariol, AOH;alternariol monomethyl ether, AME;tentoxin, TEN;and altenuene, ALT) in human urine from Beijing adults. A total of 2212 urine samples were collected and analyzed for five mycotoxins using LC–ESI–MS/MS. More than98% of the samples had at least one Alternaria mycotoxin detected. Among the mycotoxins,AME had the highest detection rate(96.0%), followed by TeA(70.5%). The calculated average daily intake values of AME(12.5 ng/kg b.w.) was 5 times the TTC value(2.5 ng/kg b.w.) set by the EFSA, indicating the potential health risks associated with mycotoxins. 8Fluorescence detection and imaging of cytosolic calcium oscillations:A comparison of four equipment setups显示文摘The increase in cytosolic calcium concentration has been shown to play an important role in vital cellular functions such as muscle contraction, cell secretion, oocyte fertilization, nerve conduction, embryo development and apoptosis in animals, plants and microbes, and in the invasion of mammalian cells by parasites, bacteria, and viruses. Therefore, live cell imaging of increases in cytosolic calcium concentration in cellular compartments has been investigated intensively. Multiple calcium imaging systems are now available commercially, but when it comes to deciding which model to purchase, it is often hard to obtain enough information for an optimal setup. In this paper, a comparison was made among four fluorescent detection/imaging devices for the detection of cytosolic calcium oscillations induced in rat pancreatic acinar cells by cholecystokinin and in hepatocytes by phenylephrine. Detailed equipment setup, differences in data acquisition and analysis, and side effects of the excitation light on live cells were analyzed. 11Prevalence and risk factors for minimal hepatic encephalopathy in cirrhotic patients with different etiologies显示文摘Aims:Minimal hepatic encephalopathy(MHE)significantly affects the prognosis of patients with cirrhosis.This study was performed to determine whether there is a difference in the prevalence of MHE among patients with cirrhosis of different etiologies and whether the etiology directly influences the occurrence of MHE.Methods:This multicenter,cross-sectional study enrolled 1879 patients with confirmed cirrhosis at 40 hospitals from October 25,2021,to January 10,2023(Trial registration:http://gffzzd3f38a9638994581sxv5qpnqbupob6wu0.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/[NCT05140837]).The patients'demographics,etiologies of cirrhosis,and laboratory test results were collected.The psychometric hepatic encephalopathy score(PHES)was determined in all patients to screen for MHE.Multivariate logistic analyses were performed to identify the risk factors for MHE.Results:In total,736 patients with cirrhosis were analyzed.The prevalence of MHE was 42.0%(n=309).The primary etiology among all patients was hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related cirrhosis(71.9%[529/736]).The prevalence of MHE was significantly higher in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis(57.1%[40/70])than in those with HBV-related cirrhosis(40.6%[215/529],p=0.009)or hepatitis C virus(HCV)-related cirrhosis(38.2%[26/68],p=0.026).Age(odds ratio[OR],1.042;95%confidence interval[CI],1.024-1.059;p<0.001),duration of education(OR,0.935;95%CI,0.899-0.971;p=0.001),etiology(OR,1.740;95%CI,1.028-2.945;p=0.039),and high MELD-Na scores(OR,1.038;95%CI,1.009-1.067;p=0.009)were independent risk factors for MHE.When patients with cirrhosis of different etiologies were analyzed separately,the results showed that age(OR,1.035;95%CI,1.014-1.057;p=0.001)and duration of education(OR,0.924;95%CI,0.883-0.966;p=0.001)were risk factors for MHE among patients with HBV-related cirrhosis,whereas age(OR,1.138;95%CI,1.033-1.254;p=0.009)and creatinine concentration(OR,16.487;95%CI,1.113-244.160;p=0.042)were risk factors for MHE in patients with HCV-related cirrhosis.No risk factors for MHE were found in patients with autoimmune cirrhosis.For patients with alcoholic cirrhosis,the platelet count(OR,1.014;95%CI,1.000-1.027;p=0.045)was a risk factor for MHE.The PHES subtest results were inconsistent among patients who had MHE with cirrhosis of different etiologies.Patients with HBV-related cirrhosis performed better on Number Connection Test B and the serial dotting test than those with alcoholic cirrhosis(p=0.007 and p<0.001),better on Number Connection Test B than those with HCV-related cirrhosis(p=0.020),and better on the line tracing test than those with autoimmune cirrhosis(p=0.037).Conclusion:The etiology of cirrhosis affected the prevalence of MHE and risk factors for MHE.The domains of major cognitive impairment varied among patients with cirrhosis of different etiologies.Further studies are required to verify these findings.Xiaoyan Li Shanghao Liu Huiling Xiang Qingge Zhang Ying Guo Hongmei Zu Jing Wang Jiaojian Lv Xiaoning Zhang Fanping Meng Jiahuan Li Jie Li Yangzhen Bianba Jia Shang Guo Zhang Fei Liu Zhaowei Tong Chuang Lei Wei Ye Qiaohua Yang Ningning Wang Ying Song Wei Fu Ziyue Li Yanjing Gao Yongping Zhang Jiafang Chen Caiyun Wu Qi Zheng Fang Wang Jiali Yu Lianjie Lin Chuanlong Yang Xiaoting Yang Xiaomin Ye Xiangmei Wang Xuelan Zhao Xiaolong Qi Fusheng Wang Junliang Fu 2023Portal Hypertension & Cirrhosis2023,2,4:0
12Bautype: Capsule and Lipopolysaccharide Serotype Prediction for Acinetobacter baumannii Genome显示文摘Acinetobacter baumannii has three clusters of genes for polysaccharide synthesis.Capsular polysaccharides and lipopolysaccharides are major virulence determinants in many Gram-negative bacteria,and play key roles in the overall fitness and virulence in A.baumannii,meanwhile poly-beta-1-6-N-acetylglucosamine was critical for biofilm formation.A variety of studies have been conducted which focused on the surveillance of antimicrobial resistance genes and clones in A.baumannii.However,a tool to perform serotype prediction in A.baumannii is still lacking.Here we present Bautype,a tool for whole genome sequencingbased K and O locus typing in A.baumannii.Using Bautype,users can upload and analyze the genome assembled in a web browser,with the results being displayed in a tabular or graphical format.We demonstrated the high accuracy of predicting K and O locus diversity using Bautype when analyzing more than 3000 A.baumannii genomes.Using our software,we were able to analyze K and O locus diversity among 593 genomes belonging to ST208(3 K and 8 O).These diverse loci can serve as epidemiological markers for Multi-drug Resistance(MDR)strain subtyping.We also identified 45 novel O locus types.Our findings highlight the importance in monitoring the capsule type and LOS of A.baumannii strains for which Bautype is a tailored clinical software.Bautype is available at http://gffzzf27235bfe84f4a38hxv5qpnqbupob6wu0.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn.Xiaoting Hua Qian Liang Li Fang Jintao He Meixia Wang Wenjie Hong Sebastian Leptihn Hengliang Wang Yunsong Yu Huan Chen 2020Infectious Microbes & Diseases2020,2,1:0
13Atypical manifestations of acute coronary syndrome—throat discomfort:a multi-center observational study显示文摘To present the clinical characteristics and the misdiagnosis rate of acute coronary syndrome manifested primarily as throat discomfort,we conducted a multicentric and retrospective study in the cardiology and otorhinolaryngology departments.Records of patients with primary complaint of throat discomfort,absence of chest pain at onset,and an ultimate diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome,as well as patients with pharyngitis(as controls)were collected from May 2015 to April 2016.The patients’main manifestations were compared.Logistic regression results showed that chest tightness,dyspnea,perspiring,and exertional throat symptoms were significantly associated with acute coronary syndrome,with odds ratios of 8.3(95%CI 2.2–31.5),10.9(95%CI 1.8–66.9),25.4(95%CI 3.6–179.9),and 81.2(95%CI 13.0–506.7).A total of 25(56.82%)out of 44 acute coronary syndrome patients,who were first admitted to the otorhinolaryngology department,were misdiagnosed,with a 12%(3/25)mortality rate.Throat discomfort can be the principal manifestation of acute coronary syndrome.Such patients exhibit high misdiagnosis and mortality rates.Exertional throat symptoms,chest tightness,perspiring,and dyspnea were important indicators of acute coronary syndrome in patients whose main complaint was throat discomfort.The awareness of this condition will result in prompt diagnosis and reduce morbidity and mortality.Yanqing Fang Xiaoting Cheng Wenhui Peng Xueying Chen Chunping Tang Qiusheng Huang Sihai Wu Yibo Huang Fanglu Chi Matthew RNaunheim Huawei Li Bing Chen Yilai Shu 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,4:0
14Effects of KCl and KI additives on soil breakdown spectroscopy characteristics显示文摘In order to enhance the spectral characteristics of the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS), the spectral signals of soil samples with different concentrations of KCl and KI additives were analyzed. The optimal laser energy, the lens to sample distance(LTSD) and the delay time were determined. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the spectral intensity, signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) and plasma characteristics of Cd I 288.08 nm and Al I 394.40 nm in soil samples with 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% KCl and KI additives were analyzed. The experimental results show that the spectral intensities of Cd and Al in soil samples with 15% KCl are 1.33 times and 1.61 times of that of the original sample, while those with 15% KI are 1.84 times and 1.81 times. The SNR, plasma temperature and electron density are improved. 15Identification of stable quantitative trait loci underlying waterlogging tolerance post-anthesis in common wheat(Triticum aestivum)显示文摘Waterlogging is a growing threat to wheat production in high-rainfall areas.In this study,a doubled haploid(DH) population developed from a cross between Yangmai 16(waterlogging-tolerant) and Zhongmai895(waterlogging-sensitive) was used to map quantitative trait loci(QTL) for waterlogging tolerance using a high-density 660K single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) array.Two experimental designs,waterlogging concrete tank(CT) and waterlogging plastic tank(PT),were used to simulate waterlogging during anthesis in five environments across three growing seasons.Waterlogging significantly decreased thousand-kernel weight(TKW) relative to non-waterlogged controls,although the degree varied across lines.Three QTL for waterlogging tolerance were identified on chromosomes 4AL,5AS,and 7DL in at least two environments.All favorable alleles were contributed by the waterlogging-tolerant parent Yangmai16.QWTC.caas-4AL exhibited pleiotropic effects on both enhancing waterlogging tolerance and decreasing plant height.Six high-confidence genes were annotated within the QTL interval.The combined effects of QWTC.caas-4AL and QWTC.caas-5AS greatly improved waterlogging tolerance,while the combined effects of all three identified QTL(QWTC.caas-4AL,QWTC.caas-5AS,and QWTC.caas-7DL) exhibited the most significant effect on waterlogging tolerance.Breeder-friendly kompetitive allele-specific PCR(KASP) markers(K_AX_111523809,K_AX_108971224,and K_AX_110553316) flanking the interval of QWTC.caas-4AL,QWTC.caas-5AS,and QWTC.caas-7DL were produced.These markers were tested in a collection of 240 wheat accessions,and three superior polymorphisms of the markers distributed over 67elite cultivars in the test population,from the Chinese provinces of Jiangsu,Anhui,and Hubei.The three KASP markers could be used for marker-assisted selection(MAS) to improve waterlogging tolerance in wheat.Fugong Ding Jingyang Tong Rui Xu Jing Chen Xiaoting Xu Muhammad Nadeem Shuping Wang Yingxin Zhang Zhanwang Zhu Fengju Wang Zhengwu Fang Yuanfeng Hao 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,4:0
