2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). The present guideline includes the underlying diseases of syncope in children and adolescents, the diagnostic procedures, methodology and clinical significance of standing test and headup tilt test, the clinical diagnosis vasovagal syncope, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, orthostatic hypotension and orthostatic hypertension, and the treatment of syncope as well as follow-up. | Cheng Wang Yaqi Li Ying Liao Hong Tian Min Huang Xiangyu Dong Lin Shi Jinghui Sun Hongfang Jin Junbao Du Jindou An Jie Chen Mingwu Chen Qi Chen Sun Chen Yonghong Chen Zhi Chen Adolphus Kai-tung Chau Junbao Du Zhongdong Du Junkai Duan Hongyu Duan Xiangyu Dong Lin Feng Lijun Fu Fangqi Gong Yonghao Gui Ling Han Zhenhui Han Bing He Zhixu He Xiufen Hu Yimin Hua Guoying Huang Min Huang Ping Huang Yujuan Huang Hongfang Jin Mei Jin Bo Li Fen Li Tao Li Xiaohui Li Xiaoyan Liu Yan Li Haitao Lv Tiewei Lv Zipu Li Luyi Ma Silin Pan Yusheng Pang Hua Peng Yuming Qin Jie Shen Lin Shi Kun Sun Jinghui Sun Hong Tian Jie Tian Cheng Wang Hong Wang Lei Wang Jinju Wang Wendi Wang Yuli Wang Rongzhou Wu Tianhe Xia Yanyan Xiao Chunhong Xie Yanlin Xing Zhenyu Xiong Baoyuan Xu Yi Xu Hui Yan Shiwei Yang Qijian Yi Xia Yu Xianyi Yu Yue Yuan Hongyan Zhang Huili Zhang Li Zhang Qingyou Zhang Xi Zhang Yanmin Zhang Zhiwei Zhang Cuifen Zhao Bin Zhou Hua Zhu | 2018 | Science Bulletin2018,63,23: | 54
Effect of Bufei granule on stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a randomized, double blinded, placebo-controlled, and multicenter clinical study显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study the therapeutic effect Bufei granule, which is a traditional Chinese drug that can enhance the immune function of the lung, on patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).METHODS: This is a randomized, double blinded,placebo-controlled, and multicenter clinical study.Three medical centers in Tianjin, China, participated in the trial. A total of 140 patients with stable COPD were enrolled and randomized into two groups, with 70 patients in each. The treatment group was treated with Bufei granule, while the control group received Bufei placebo. The pharmacological treatment lasted for 12 weeks from the date of enrollment. Then, the indexes of patients were observed. Data were analyzed to study the effect of Bufei granule, with the frequency of acute exacerbation as the primary outcome. Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes,Modified British Medical Research Council dyspnea scale score, St.George's respiratory questionnaire scores, pulmonary function, and serum inflammatory marker levels [including interleukin-6(IL-6), interleukin-8, tumor necrosis factor-α, and transformation growth factor-β1]were the secondary outcomes.RESULTS: During the 12-week treatment, treatment and control groups had no adverse reactions. The analysis of the indexes obtained from all patients showed that the therapeutic effect in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group because most of the similar probabilities of primary and secondary outcomes were less than 0.05,except for the level of IL-6.CONCLUSION: Bufei granule can treat patients with stable COPD by lowering the frequency of acute exacerbation, improving the quality of life, and alleviating the severity of inflammation. | Sijia Guo Zengtao Sun Enshun Liu Jihong Feng Min Fu Yuechuan Li Qi Wu | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,4: | 19
A Chromosome-Scale Genome Assembly of Paper Mulberry(Bmussonetia papyrifera)Provides New Insights into Its Forage and Papermaking Usage显示文摘Paper mulberry(Broussonetia papyrifera)is a well-known woody tree historically used for Cai Lun papermaking, one of the four great inventions of ancient China.More recently,Paper mulberry has also been used as forage to address the shortage of feedstuff because of its digestible crude fiber and high protein contents. In this study,we obtained a chromosome-scale genome assembly for Paper mulberry using integrated approaches, including Illumina and PacBio sequencing platform as well as Hi-C,optical,and genetic maps. The assembled Paper mulberry genome consists of 386.83 Mb,which is close to the estimated size, and 99.25%(383.93 Mb)of the assembly was assigned to 13 pseudochromosomes.Comparative genomic analysis revealed the expansion and contraction in the flavonoid and lignin biosynthetic gene families, respectively, accounting for the enhanced flavonoid and decreased lignin biosynthesis in Paper mulberry. Moreover, the increased ratio of syringyl-lignin to guaiacyl-lignin in Paper mulberry underscores its suitability for use in medicine, forage, papermaking, and barkcloth making. We also identified the rootassociated microbiota of Paper mulberry and found that Pseudomonas and Rhizobia were enriched in its roots and may provide the source of nitrogen for its stems and leaves via symbiotic nitrogen fixation.Collectively, these results suggest that Paper mulberry might have undergone adaptive evolution and recruited nitrogen-fixing microbes to promote growth by enhancing flavonoid production and altering lignin monomer composition. Our study provides significant insights into genetic basis of the usefulness of Paper mulberry in papermaking and barkcloth making, and as forage. These insights will facilitate further domestication and selection as well as industrial utilization of Paper mulberry worldwide. | Xianjun Peng Hui Liu Peilin Chen Feng Tang Yanmin Hu Fenfen Wang Zhi Pi Meiling Zhao Naizhi Chen Hui Chen Xiaokang Zhang Xueqing Yan Min Liu Xiaojun Fu Guofeng Zhao Pu Yao Lili Wang He Dai Xuming Li Wei Xiong Wencai Xu Hongkun Zheng Haiyan Yu Shihua Shen | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,5: | 18

New Vegetation Index and Its Application in Estimating Leaf Area Index of Rice显示文摘Leaf area index (LAI) is an important characteristic of land surface vegetation system, and is also a key parameter for the models of global water balancing and carbon circulation. By using the reflectance values of Landsat-5 blue, green and red channels simulated from rice reflectance spectrum, the sensitivities of the bands to LAI were analyzed, and the response and capability to estimate LAI of various NDVIs (normalized difference vegetation indices), which were established by substituting the red band of general NDVI with all possible combinations of red, green and blue bands, were assessed. Finally, the conclusion was tested by rice data at different conditions. The sensitivities of red, green and blue bands to LAI were different under various conditions. When LAI was less than 3, red and blue bands were more sensitive to LAI. Though green band in the circumstances was less sensitive to LAI than red and blue bands, it was sensitive to LAI in a wider range. When the vegetation indices were constituted by all kinds of combinations of red, green and blue bands, the premise for making the sensitivity of these vegetation indices to LAI be meaningful was that the value of one of the combinations was greater than 0.024, i.e. visible reflectance (VIS)>0.024. Otherwise, the vegetation indices would be saturated, resulting in lower estimation accuracy of LAI. Comparison on the capabilities of the vegetation indices derived from all kinds of combinations of red, green and blue bands to LAI estimation showed that GNDVI (Green NDVI) and GBNDVI (Green-Blue NDVI) had the best relations with LAI. The capabilities of GNDVI and GBNDVI to LAI estimation were tested under different circumstances, and the same result was acquired. It suggested that GNDVI and GBNDVI performed better to predict LAI than the conventional NDVI. | WANG FU min HUANG Jing feng TANG Yan lin WANG Xiu zhen | 2007 | Rice science2007,14,3: | 12
On-chip plasmonic spin-Hall nanograting for simultaneously detecting phase and polarization singularities显示文摘Phase and polarization singularities are important degrees of freedom for electromagnetic field manipulation.Detecting these singularities is essential for modern optics, but it is still a challenge, especially in integrated optical systems. In this paper,we propose an on-chip plasmonic spin-Hall nanograting structure that simultaneously detects both the polarization and phase singularities of the incident cylindrical vortex vector beam(CVVB).The nanograting is symmetry-breaking with different periods for the upper and lower parts, which enables the unidirectional excitation of the surface plasmon polariton depending on the topological charge of the incident optical vortex beam.Additionally,spin-Hall meta-slits are integrated onto the grating so that the structure has a chiral response for polarization detection. We demonstrate theoretically and experimentally that the designed structure fully discriminates both the topological charges and polarization states of the incident beam simultaneously. The proposed structure has great potential in compact integrated photonic circuits. | Fu Feng Guangyuan Si Changjun Min Xiaocong Yuan Michael Somekh | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 11

Expert consensus on the glycemic management of critically ill patients显示文摘Introduction The incidence of hyperglycemia is 40-60%in critically ill patients and is up to 60-80%in those who have undergone car-diac surgery.[1]The results of an epidemiological study in the United States showed that 28.6%of diabetic patients and 9.3%of non-diabetic patients had elevated mean daily glucose on the day of ICU admission.[2]In critically ill patients, elevated blood glucose is primarily the result of stress, and stress-induced hy-perglycemia is an independent risk factor associated with prog-nosis,regardless of a previous diagnosis of diabetes.Nutritional therapy has become an integral treatment option for patients in the ICU,[3,4]though nearly 30%of patients with enteral nu-trition and 44-50%with parenteral nutrition(PN)experience elevated glucose.[5,6]Intensive insulin therapy(IIT)is an impor-tant treatment for controlling hyperglycemia in critically ill pa-tients,but it also carries a corresponding risk of hypoglycemia. | Zhixiong Wu Jiao Liu Dong Zhang Kai Kang Xiangrong Zuo Qianghong Xu Aijun Pan Wei Fang Fen Liu You Shang Haiyan Yin Juntao Hu Jinglun Liu Jiangquan Fu Wei Zhang Yuan Zong Min Shao Feng Zhao Mei Meng Yanfei Mao Yingchuan Li Dechang Chen | 2022 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2022,2,3: | 9

Signal processing in underwater acoustic communication system for manned deep submersible 'Jiaolong'显示文摘For the first time in the world, underwater acoustic transmission of images, human voice, data and texts between vehicle under 7000 m depth and surface ship was accomplished by underwater acoustic communication system of manned deep submersible 'Jiaolong'.In this paper, signal processing in underwater acoustic communication system for manned deep submersible 'Jiaolong' is introduced.(1) Four communication methods are integrated to meet different needs:1) coherent underwater acoustic communication, with a variable transmission rate from 5 kbps to 15 kbps,to transmit images.2) Non-coherent underwater acoustic communication, with a transmission rate 300 bps,to transmit texts, instructions, and sensor data. 3) Spread spectrum underwater acoustic communication, with a transmission rate 16 bps,to transmit instructions.4) Underwater voice communication, using single sideband modulation to transmit human voice.(2) Signal processing method in coherent communication mainly consists of concatenation of decision feedback equalizer and Turbo decoder, and wavelet based image compression with fixed length coding. In the equalizer,Doppler compensation, multichannel combining and equalizer coefficients updating are all using fast self-optimized adaptive algorithm.(3) A linear hydrophone array is lowered from the mother ship to certain depth, and spatial diversity combining technology is adopted.(4) Diving trials of 'Jiaolong' were carried out in Pacific Ocean. The communication range can cover nearly all ocean depth. One optical/acoustic image can be transmitted in 7 or 14 seconds. | ZHU Weiqing ZHU Min WU Yanbo YANG Bo XU Lijun FU Xiang PAN Feng | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Acoustics2013,32,1: | 7
Influence of HbA1c on short-term blood pressure variability in type 2 diabetic patients with diabetic nephropathy显示文摘The aim of this study was to understand the characteristics of blood pressure(BP)variability in subjects with diabetic nephropathy(DN),and identify the probable predictors affecting BP variability.Fifty-one chronic kidney disease(CKD)-hypertensive patients without diabetes(NDN group)and sixty type 2 diabetic patients with overt DN(DN group)were enrolled in this study. The values of short-term BP variability were obtained from 24 h ambulatory BP monitoring(ABPM).Variance analysis or nonparametric analysis revealed that 24-h systolic BP variability and nighttime systolic BP variability of the DN group were significantly higher than those of the NDN group[(12.23±3.66)vs.(10.74±3.83)mmHg,P<0.05;(11.23±4.82)vs.(9.48±3.69)mmHg,P<0.05].Then the patients of the DN group were divided into two groups according to glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)level:Group A(HbA1c<7%)and Group B(HbA1c≥7%),and the t-test showed that patients in Group B had larger 24-h diastolic, daytime diastolic, and nighttime systolic/diastolic BP variability compared with Group A.In the DN group, partial correlation analysis revealed that HbA1c exhibited a strong association with 24-h diastolic, daytime diastolic, nighttime systolic and diastolic BP variability(P<0.001,P<0.001,P<0.05,and P<0.001,respectively).Taken together, larger short-term BP variability was detected in hypertensive type 2 diabetic patients with overt nephropathy and renal insufficiency. It may imply that the optimal BP variability level could benefit from a better glycaemic control. | Fang LIU Min WU Yan-huan FENG Hui ZHONG Tian-lei CUI You-qun HUANG Ya-ping LIANG Yong-shu DIAO Li ZANG Ling LI Jing ZANG Hong-yu QIU Song-min HUANG Ping FU | 2013 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2013,14,11: | 6
Simultaneous quantification of ginsenoside Rg1 and its metabolites by HPLC–MS/MS:Rg1 excretion in rat bile, urine and feces显示文摘Ginsenoside Rg1(Rg1), the major effective component of ginseng, has been shown to have multiple bioactivities, but low oral bioavailability. The aim of this study was to develop a simple, sensitive and rapid high performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry(LC–MS/MS) method, which could be used to validate and quantify the concentrations of Rg1 and its metabolites in Sprague-Dawley rat bile, urine, and feces after oral administration(25 mg/kg). Calibration curves offered satisfactory linearity(r40.995)within the determined ranges. Both intra-day and inter-day variances were less than 15%, and the accuracy was within 80–120%. The excretion recoveries of Rg1, ginsenoside Rh1(Rh1), and protopanaxatriol(Ppt) in bile, urine, and feces combined were all greater than 70%. The fecal excretion recoveries of Rg1, Rh1, and Ppt were40.11%, 22.19%, and 22.88%, respectively, whereas 6.88% of Rg1 and 0.09% of Rh1 were excreted in bile.Urinary excretion accounted for only 0.04% of Rg1. In conclusion, the observed excretion profiles for Rg1 and its metabolites after oral administration are helpful for understanding the poor oral bioavailability of Rg1 and will aid further investigations of Rg1 as a pharmacologically active component. | Chiyu He Ru Feng Yupeng Sun Shifeng Chu Ji Chen Chao Ma Jie Fu Zhenxiong Zhao Min Huang Jiawen Shou Xiaoyang Li Yuzhu Wang Jinfeng Hu Yan Wang Juntian Zhang | 2016 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2016,6,6: | 6
In Vitro and In Vivo Antibacterial Activity of Patchouli Alcohol from Pogostemon cablin显示文摘Objective:To investigate the antibacterial activity of patchouli alcohol(PA)against 127 bacteria strains, including the common bacteria and drug-resistant bacteria strains both in the in vitro and in vivo tests. Methods:For the in vitro trial, the antibacterial property of PA against 107 Gram-positive and 20 Gram-negative bacteria strains was screened by agar double dilution method. For the in vivo trial, specific pathogen free Kunming strain of both male and female white mice, were used to test the protective ability of PA after being injected with the median lethal dose of the tested strains. Results:PA possessed antibacterial activity against all the tested 127 strains. In the in vitro test,PA could inhibit both Gram-negative bacteria(25-768μg/m L)and Gram-positive bacteria(1.5-200μg/m L).Particularly,PA was active against some drug-resistant bacteria like methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA).PA also exhibited in vivo anti-MRSA activity in mice via intraperitoneal injection.PA could protect mice entirely infected with MRSA at 100 and 200 mg/kg,while 80% mice injected with MRSA could be protected at a low dose of 50 mg/kg.Conclusion:PA might be a potential antibacterial drug from natural sources and might be worthy to explore its mechanism and application in further study. | WAN Feng PENG Fu XIONG Liang CHEN Jian-ping PENG Cheng DAI Min | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,2: | 6

Serum Gamma-glutamyl Transferase Levels Predict Functional Outcomes after Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage显示文摘Objective We aim to explore the potential association between serum gamma-glutamyl transferase levels and functional outcome after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage in a Chinese population. Methods A total of 386 aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage patients were included in the study from September 2007 to February 2015. Baseline serum gamma-glutamyl transferase levels and 6-month follow-up functional outcomes were determined. A poor outcome was defined as a modified ranking scale score of ≥ 3. The multivariable logistic model was used to analyze the relationship between serum gamma-glutamyl transferase and clinical outcomes after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Results The adjusted poor outcome rates of patients with gamma-glutamyl transferase levels of < 30 U/L, 30-50 U/L and ≥ 50 U/L were 16.7%, 19.6%, and 34.4%, respectively(P < 0.01). The age-sex and multivariable adjusted odds ratios(95% confidence intervals) of poor prognosis comparing the top group(≥ 50 U/L) with the lowest group(< 30 U/L) were 5.76(2.74-12.13), 6.64(2.05-21.52), and 6.36(1.92-21.02). A significant linear trend existed between gamma-glutamyl transferase level and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage prognosis. This association was also observed among nondrinkers. Conclusion Patients with higher gamma-glutamyl transferase levels were more likely to have a poor prognosis. Serum gamma-glutamyl transferase can be considered to be an independent predictor of functional outcomes after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. | XU Tian WANG Wei ZHAI Lin ZHANG Yun Feng ZHOU Hong Zhi WU Xin Min LI Ai Hong XIE Li Li NING Xiao Jin JI Yu Teng WANG Hong Mei KE Kai Fu | 2017 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017,30,3: | 5
Spleen-Yang-deficiency patients with polycystic ovary syndrome have higher levels of visfatin显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study serum visfatin levels in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)grouped by Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)patterns. To study the correlations of serum visfatin levels with homeostatic model assessment insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting insulin(FINS),body mass index(BMI),testosterone(T),total cholesterol(TC),and triglycerides(TG).METHODS:Two hundred and twelve PCOS patients were placed into the following TCM pattern subgroups:Kidney-Yang deficiency(KYD)group,Spleen-Yang deficiency(SYD)group, stagnant Liver-Qi transforming into heat(SLQTH)group, and Kidney-Yin deficiency(KYIND)group. The correlations between serum visfatin levels and HOMA-IR,FPG,FINS,BMI,T,TC,andTG were analyzed.RESULTS:Of all patients with PCOS,there were 82in the KYD group(38.6%),67 in the SYD group(31.6%),37 in the SLQTH group(17.5%),and 26 in the KYIND group(12.3%).Visfatin levels in all PCOS subgroups were higher than those in the control group(P<0.01 or P<0.05).Among these subgroups, the visfatin levels in the SYD group were significantly higher than those in the other three TCM pattern groups(P<0.05).There were no statistical differences among the remaining three pattern groups. The levels of BMI,FINS,HOMA-IR,T,and TG were significantly higher in all subgroups than those in the control group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in FPG and TC between all PCOS subgroups and the control group(P>0.05).The SYD group had higher levels of FINS and HOMA-IR compared with the KYD,SLQTH,and KYIND groups(P<0.05).In all subgroups, after controlling for BMI,TG,TC,and age, visfatin was positively correlated with FINS(r=0.197,P=0.015)and HOMA-IR(r=0.173,P=0.033),and was not correlated with T.CONCLUSION:KYD and SYD patterns are most common in PCOS patients.Increased visfatin is a common pathophysiologic manifestation in PCOS patients. The SYD group had the highest levels of visfatin, and visfatin was positively correlated with FINS and HOMA-IR. | Huijia Fu Yan Qiu Feng Wei Li Yang Min Xia Huiyu He | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,1: | 5
Exosomes derived from 3D-cultured MSCs improve therapeutic effects in periodontitis and experimental colitis and restore the Th17 cell/Treg balance in inflamed periodontium显示文摘Although mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes(MSC-exos)have been shown to have therapeutic effects in experimental periodontitis, their drawbacks, such as low yield and limited efficacy, have hampered their clinical application. These drawbacks can be largely reduced by replacing the traditional 2D culture system with a 3D system. However, the potential function of MSC-exos produced by 3D culture(3D-exos)in periodontitis remains elusive. This study showed that compared with MSC-exos generated via 2D culture(2D-exos),3D-exos showed enhanced anti-inflammatory effects in a ligature-induced model of periodontitis by restoring the reactive T helper 17(Th17)cell/Treg balance in inflamed periodontal tissues.Mechanistically,3D-exos exhibited greater enrichment of miR-1246,which can suppress the expression of Nfat5,a key factor that mediates Th17 cell polarization in a sequence-dependent manner.Furthermore,we found that recovery of the Th17 cell/Treg balance in the inflamed periodontium by the local injection of 3D-exos attenuated experimental colitis. Our study not only showed that by restoring the Th17 cell/Treg balance through the miR-1246/Nfat5 axis, the 3D culture system improved the function of MSC-exos in the treatment of periodontitis, but also it provided a basis for treating inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)by restoring immune responses in the inflamed periodontium. | Yong Zhang Jiayao Chen Haijun Fu Shuhong Kuang Feng He Min Zhang Zongshan Shen Wei Qin Zhengmei Lin Shuheng Huang | 2021 | International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,4: | 4
Ablative Property of C/C–SiC–HfC Composites Prepared via Precursor Infiltration and Pyrolysis under 3,000 °C Oxyacetylene Torch显示文摘C/C–SiC–HfC composites were fabricated via precursor infiltration and pyrolysis using a mixture solution of organic hafnium-containing polymer and polycarbosilane as precursor. The microstructures and the phases of the composites were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The ablation resistance of the composites was evaluated under 3,000 °C oxyacetylene torch. After ablation for 120 s, the composites exhibit good ablation properties with the linear and mass ablation rates of 9.1 9 10-4mm/s and 1.30 9 10-3g/s, which are far lower than those of the C/C–SiC composites. The excellent ablative property of the C/C–SiC–HfC composites is resulted from the formation of HfO2 molten layer on the surface of the composites, which could play a positive role in reducing heat transfer and preventing oxygen transport to the underlying carbon substrate. | Min Yan Hejun Li Qiangang Fu Jing Xie Lei Liu Bo Feng | 2014 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,6: | 4
