1120 mm Single-crystalline perovskite and wafers: towards viable applications显示文摘As the large single-crystalline silicon wafers have revolutionized many industries including electronics and solar cells, it is envisioned that the availability of large single-crystalline perovskite crystals and wafers will revolutionize its broad applications in photovoltaics, optoelectronics, lasers, photodetectors, light emitting diodes(LEDs), etc. Here we report a method to grow large single-crystalline perovskites including single-halide crystals: CH3NH3PbX3(X=I, Br, Cl), and dual-halide ones:CH3NH3Pb(ClxBr1.x)3 and CH3NH3Pb(BrxI1.x)3, with the largest crystal being 120 mm in length. Meanwhile, we have advanced a process to slice the large perovskite crystals into thin wafers. It is found that the wafers exhibit remarkable features:(1)its trap-state density is a million times smaller than that in the microcrystalline perovskite thin films(MPTF);(2) its carrier mobility is 410 times higher than its most popular organic counterpart P3HT;(3) its optical absorption is expanded to as high as910 nm comparing to 797 nm for the MPTF;(4) while MPTF decomposes at 150 °C, the wafer is stable at high temperature up to270 °C;(5) when exposed to high humidity(75% RH), MPTF decomposes in 5 h while the wafer shows no change for overnight;(6) its photocurrent response is 250 times higher than its MPTF counterpart. A few electronic devices have been fabricated using the crystalline wafers. Among them, the Hall test gives low carrier concentration with high mobility. The trap-state density is measured much lower than common semiconductors. Moreover, the large SC-wafer is found particularly useful for mass production of integrated circuits. By adjusting the halide composition, both the optical absorption and the light emission can be fine-tuned across the entire visible spectrum from 400 nm to 800 nm. It is envisioned that a range of visible lasers and LEDs may be developed using the dual-halide perovskites. 2Sex disparity of lung cancer risk in non-smokers:a multicenter population-based prospective study based on China National Lung Cancer Screening Program显示文摘Background: Non-smokers account for a large proportion of lung cancer patients, especially in Asia, but the attention paid to them is limited compared with smokers. In non-smokers, males display a risk for lung cancer incidence distinct from the females-even after excluding the influence of smoking;but the knowledge regarding the factors causing the difference is sparse. Based on a large multicenter prospective cancer screening cohort in China, we aimed to elucidate the interpretable sex differences caused by known factors and provide clues for primary and secondary prevention.Methods: Risk factors including demographic characteristics, lifestyle factors, family history of cancer, and baseline comorbidity were obtained from 796,283 Chinese non-smoking participants by the baseline risk assessment completed in 2013 to 2018. Cox regression analysis was performed to assess the sex difference in the risk of lung cancer, and the hazard ratios (HRs) that were adjusted for different known factors were calculated and compared to determine the proportion of excess risk and to explain the existing risk factors.Results: With a median follow-up of 4.80 years, 3351 subjects who were diagnosed with lung cancer were selected in the analysis. The lung cancer risk of males was significantly higher than that of females;the HRs in all male non-smokers were 1.29 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.20-1.38) after adjusting for the age and 1.38 (95% CI: 1.28-1.50) after adjusting for all factors, which suggested that known factors could not explain the sex difference in the risk of lung cancer in non-smokers. Known factors were 7% (|1.29-1.38|/1.29) more harmful in women than in men. For adenocarcinoma, women showed excess risk higher than men, contrary to squamous cell carcinoma;after adjusting for all factors, 47% ([1.30-1.16]/[1.30-1]) and 4% ([7.02-6.75]/[7.02-1])) of the excess risk was explainable in adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. The main causes of gender differences in lung cancer risk were lifestyle factors, baseline comorbidity, and family history.Conclusions: Significant gender differences in the risk of lung cancer were discovered in China non-smokers. 3Lactobacillus plantarum CCFM8610 Alleviates Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Prevents Gut Microbiota Dysbiosis:A Randomized,Double-Blind,Placebo-Controlled,Pilot Clinical Trial显示文摘Irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea(IBS-D)is chronic intestinal dysfunction with diarrhea and othercomplicated clinical symptoms,and it has a great impact on the daily life and mental state of patients.Some studies have reported that ingestion of probiotics can significantly alleviate a variety of intestinaldiseases.The pupose of this study was to investigate the IBS-D-alleviating effects of a probiotic strain,lactobacillus plantarum(L.plantarum)CCFM8610,with multiple health-promoting effects.The studywas a 12-week,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled,pilot clinical trial.Seventy-five patientswere randomly assigned to receive the placebo,oligosaccharides,or L.plantarum CCFM8610(1×10^(10) colony-forming units(CFU)per day),with a 2-week run-in period,an 8-week intervention period,anda 2-week follow-up observation period.The patients'clinical symptoms and quality of life were exam-ined by the IBS symptom severity scale(IBS-SsS)and the IlBS quality of life scale(IBS-QOL).Changes ingut microbiota composition and diversity were measured at the end of the intervention period.The oraladministration of L.plantarum CCFM8610 significantly decreased the IBS-SSS and IBS-QOL scores,reduced IBS-D symptom severity,recovered gut microbiota diversity,decreased the relative abundanceof bloating-related genus Methanobrevibacter,and increased the relative abundance of butyric acid-producing genera,including Anaerostipes,Anaerotruncus,Bifidobacterium,Butyricimonas,andOdoribacter.These findings suggest that ingestion of L.plantarum CCFM8610 can significantly alleviate clinical symptoms and gut microbiota dysbiosis in IBS-D patients.The IBS-D-alleviating effect of L.plan-tarum CCFM8610 may be related to theincrease in the relative abundance of butyric acid-producing genera in the intestine.Yang Liu Xinjie Yu Leilei Yu Fengwei Tian Jianxin Zhao Hao Zhang Long Qian Qun Wang Zhengqing Xue Qixiao Zhai Wei Chen 2021Engineering2021,7,3:2
4The Class Ⅲ peroxidase gene OsPrx30,transcriptionally modulated by the AT-hook protein OsATH1, mediates rice bacterial blight-induced ROS accumulation显示文摘Class Ⅲ peroxidases(CⅢ Prxs) play critical roles in plant immunity by scavenging reactive oxygen species(ROS). However, the functions of CⅢ Prxs in rice(Oryza sativa L.) immunity are largely unexplored. Here, we report a Prx precursor, OsPrx30,that is responsive to the bacterial blight Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae(Xoo). OsPrx30 was primarily expressed in rice roots, leaves, and stems,and its protein product was mainly localized at the endoplasmic reticulum. Overexpression of OsPrx30 enhanced the plant’s susceptibility to Xoo by maintaining a high level of peroxidase(POD) activity and reducing the content of H2O2, whereas depletion of OsPrx30 had the opposite effects. Furthermore, we identified an AT-hook transcription factor, Os ATH1, that is specifically bound to the OsPrx30 promoter. As observed in plants overexpressing OsPrx30, depletion of Os ATH1 enhanced susceptibility to Xoo. 6Experimental determination of restitution coefficient of garlic bulb based on high-speed photography显示文摘Restitution coefficient(RC)of garlic bulb is an important mechanical property that is required to establish the kinematics model of bulb collision and research the damage mechanism of bulb collision.In this study,kinetic equations of bulb collision were established based on Hertz's contact theory.The kinematics characteristics,elastoplastic deformation and contact damage during bulb collision were analyzed by using high-speed photography.The effects of bulb mass,moisture content,collision material,material thickness and release height on the RC were investigated by mixed orthogonal experiments and single-factor experiments.The results showed that the movement of bulb in the compression stage was translation,and the movement in the rebound stage was translation and rotation.During collision,the larger the rotational angular velocity of the bulb was,the smaller the measured RC would be.The contact damage of bulb included internal damage of the tissue,epidermis stretch and tear.The significance of effects of factors on RC decreased with the following sequence:collision material,release height,material thickness,bulb mass,and moisture content.Collision material,release height,material thickness,and bulb mass were significant factors.The RC between the bulb and Q235,nylon,and rubber decreased sequentially.The RC decreased with the increase of release height and bulb mass.The RC increased with the increase of material thickness of Q235,while it decreased with the increase of material thickness of rubber or Nylon.The determination coefficients of the regression equations between the significant factors and the RC were all greater than 0.96.The results will be helpful for damage mechanism analysis and design of garlic production equipment.Zhaoyang Yu Zhichao Hu Baoliang Peng Fengwei Gu Ling Yang Mingjin Yang 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,2:1

8Identification of A-to-I RNA editing profiles and their clinical relevance in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Adenosine-to-inosine(A-to-I)RNA editing is a widespread posttranscriptional modification that has been shown to play an important role in tumorigenesis.Here,we evaluated a total of 19,316 RNA editing sites in the tissues of 80 lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)patients from our Nanjing Lung Cancer Cohort(NJLCC)and 486 LUAD patients from the TCGA database.The global RNA editing level was significantly increased in tumor tissues and was highly heterogeneous across patients.The high RNA editing level in tumors was attributed to both RNA(ADAR1 expression)and DNA alterations(mutation load).Consensus clustering on RNA editing sites revealed a new molecular subtype(EC3)that was associated with the poorest prognosis of LUAD patients.Importantly,the new classification was independent of classic molecular subtypes based on gene expression or DNA methylation.We further proposed a simplified model including eight RNA editing sites to accurately distinguish the EC3 subtype in our patients.The model was further validated in the TCGA dataset and had an area under the curve(AUC)of the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.93(95%CI:0.91-0.95).In addition,we found that LUAD cell lines with the EC3 subtype were sensitive to four chemotherapy drugs.These findings highlighted the importance of RNA editing events in the tumorigenesis of LUAD and provided insight into the application of RNA editing in the molecular subtyping and clinical treatment of cancer.Cheng Wang Mingtao Huang Congcong Chen Yuancheng Li Na Qin Zijian Ma Jingyi Fan Linnan Gong Hui Zeng Liu Yang Xianfeng Xu Jun Zhou Juncheng Dai Guangfu Jin Zhibin Hu Hongxia Ma Fengwei Tan Hongbing Shen 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,1:1

12A Robust and Efficient Adaptive Multigrid Solver for the Optimal Control of Phase Field Formulations of Geometric Evolution Laws显示文摘We propose and investigate a novel solution strategy to efficiently and accurately compute approximate solutions to semilinear optimal control problems,focusing on the optimal control of phase field formulations of geometric evolution laws.The optimal control of geometric evolution laws arises in a number of applications in fields including material science,image processing,tumour growth and cell motility.Despite this,many open problems remain in the analysis and approximation of such problems.In the current work we focus on a phase field formulation of the optimal control problem,hence exploiting the well developed mathematical theory for the optimal control of semilinear parabolic partial differential equations.Approximation of the resulting optimal control problemis computationally challenging,requiring massive amounts of computational time and memory storage.The main focus of this work is to propose,derive,implement and test an efficient solution method for such problems.The solver for the discretised partial differential equations is based upon a geometric multigrid method incorporating advanced techniques to deal with the nonlinearities in the problem and utilising adaptive mesh refinement.An in-house twogrid solution strategy for the forward and adjoint problems,that significantly reduces memory requirements and CPU time,is proposed and investigated computationally.Furthermore,parallelisation as well as an adaptive-step gradient update for the control are employed to further improve efficiency.Along with a detailed description of our proposed solution method together with its implementation we present a number of computational results that demonstrate and evaluate our algorithms with respect to accuracy and efficiency.A highlight of the present work is simulation results on the optimal control of phase field formulations of geometric evolution laws in 3-D which would be computationally infeasible without the solution strategies proposed in the present work.FengWei Yang Chandrasekhar Venkataraman Vanessa Styles Anotida Madzvamuse 2017Communications in Computational Physics2017,21,1:0

15A Noise Reduction Method for Multiple Signals Combining Computed Order Tracking Based on Chirplet Path Pursuit and Distributed Compressed Sensing显示文摘With the development of multi-signal monitoring technology,the research on multiple signal analysis and processing has become a hot subject.Mechanical equipment often works under variable working conditions,and the acquired vibration signals are often non-stationary and nonlinear,which are difficult to be processed by traditional analysis methods.In order to solve the noise reduction problem of multiple signals under variable speed,a COT-DCS method combining the Computed Order Tracking(COT)based on Chirplet Path Pursuit(CPP)and Distributed Compressed Sensing(DCS)is proposed.Firstly,the instantaneous frequency(IF)is extracted by CPP,and the speed is obtained by fitting.Then,the speed is used for equal angle sampling of time-domain signals,and angle-domain signals are obtained by COT without a tachometer to eliminate the nonstationarity,and the angledomain signals are compressed and reconstructed by DCS to achieve noise reduction of multiple signals.The accuracy of the CPP method is verified by simulated,experimental signals and compared with some existing IF extraction methods.The COT method also shows good signal stabilization ability through simulation and experiment.Finally,combined with the comparative test of the other two algorithms and four noise reduction effect indicators,the COT-DCS based on the CPP method combines the advantages of the two algorithms and has better noise reduction effect and stability.It is shown that this method is an effective multi-signal noise reduction method.Guangfei Jia Fengwei Guo Zhe Wu Suxiao Cui Jiajun Yang 2023Structural Durability & Health Monitoring2023,17,5:0
16Analysis of load and adaptability of disc cutters during shield tunneling in soft-hard varied strata显示文摘The disc cutters of shield machines exhibit unsatisfactory adaptability and performance during the soft–hard varied strata tunneling process.To analyze the rotation state,cutting performance,and adaptability of disc cutters during shield tunneling in soft–hard varied strata,the Holmquist Johnson Cook and Federal Highway Administration constitutive models are introduced to numerically simulate the failure process of materials on the excavation face and to calculate the load of disc cutters.Additionally,the parameters of the models are modified based on laboratory disc cutter excavation test results.The results of numerical calculation can reflect the load level and the behavior of the disc cutters during operation.The tangential loads of the disc cutters during the cutting of four typical soft-strata excavation face models are numerically calculated,thus providing reference values for the starting torque of the disc cutters.A greater penetration is suggested for soft-strata tunneling to allow the disc cutters to rotate smoothly and continuously as well as to guarantee a better cutting effect.The disc cutters in the center of the cutterhead should be specified with a lower starting torque to prevent uneven wear,rotation stagnation,cutterhead clogging,and other adverse phenomena.Fengwei YANG Weilin SU Yi YANG Zhiguo CAO 2023Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2023,17,4:0
