1Efficacy of Sijunzi decoction(四君子汤) on limb weakness in spleen Qi deficiency model rats through adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase/unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1 signaling显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of Sijunzi decoction(四君子汤)on limb weakness in a rat model of spleen Qi deficiency(SQD),and to study its effect on mitophagy in skeletal muscle through adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK)/unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1(ULK1)signaling.METHODS:SQD model rats were produced by fasting combined with forced swimming method for15 d.After model assessment,rats were randomly divided into four groups of 10[low/middle/high(L/M/H)Sijunzi decoction dose groups and a normal saline(S)group].Limb holding power(HP)and body mass(BM)were measured after 2 weeks of treatment.Following euthanasia,quadriceps femoris were dissected and myofiber and mitochondrial morphology were observed by transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP),adenosine triphosphatase(ATP)and reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels were determined using colorimetric methods,and immunoblot analysis of Microtubule-associated protein light chain 3(LC3)and Sequestosome 1(p62)was performed to monitor mitophagy and AMPK/ULK1 signaling.RESULTS:Compared with control(C)group rats,in the S group,HP was reduced,the myofiber Z line was disordered,mitochondria were scattered,and numerous vacuoles and mitophagy were observed.MMP and ATP levels were reduced,ROS levels were elevated,and LC3B expression,and p-AMPKα(Thr172)/AMPKα,p-ULK1(Ser555)/ULK1,and p-Raptor(Ser792)/Raptor ratios were increased,while p62 expression and p-mT OR(Ser2448)/mT OR and p-ULK1(Ser757)/ULK1 ratios were decreased.After treatment,compared with the S group,HP was improved in M and H groups but not in the L group.Mitophagy was reduced in M,H and L groups but the Z line was disordered and vacuolization remained in the L group.ATP levels were elevated in M,H and L groups,and MMPs were elevated in M and H groups but not in the L group.ROS levels were decreased in M,H and L groups,as were LC3B expression and p-Raptor(Ser792)/Raptor ratios,while p62 expression and p-mT OR(Ser2448)/mT OR and p-ULK1(Ser757)/ULK1 ratios were increased in M and H groups but not in the L group.p-AMPKα(Thr172)/AMPKαand p-ULK1(Ser555)/ULK1 ratios were decreased in M,H and L groups.CONCLUSIONS:Sijunzi decoction improved HP,possibly by inhibiting mitophagy via suppression of AMPK/ULK1 signaling.This restored mitochondrial morphology and improved oxidative phosphorylation,which contributed to recovery of limb weakness in SQD model rats.LIU Wenjun XU Xinzhu DUAN Zhiyuan LIANG Xicai MA Dan LI Gege XIE Xin CHAI Jiyan CHEN Jing SHAN Dehong 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,4:2
2Facile synthesis of Mo2C nanoparticles on N-doped carbon nanotubes with enhanced electrocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution and oxygen reduction reactions显示文摘Developing low-cost and highly-efficient electrocatalysts for renewable energy conversion technologies has attracted even-increasing attention. Molybdenum carbide materials have recently emerged as a type of promising catalysts for electrocatalytic reactions due to the earth-abundance and Pt-resembled electrical properties. In this work, taking the advantage of the interaction between the basic groups of the Mo(VI)-melamine polymer and the acidic groups on the surface of the oxidized carbon nanotubes(CNTs), N-doped CNTs supported Mo2C nanoparticles(Mo2C/NCNT) are prepared, which exhibit outstanding electrocatalytic activity and durability for both the hydrogen evolution and oxygen reduction reactions. The impressive performance of Mo2C/NCNT can be attributed to the small size of Mo2C particles, the large exposure ratio of surface sites and the presence of N-doped CNTs. 3Development and Validation of a Nomogram for Prediction of the Risk of MAFLD in an Overweight and Obese Population显示文摘Background and Aims:Metabolic associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)is a serious condition,and a simple meth-od is needed for practitioners to identify patients with the disease and have a high risk of disease progression.Meth-ods:We developed and validated a nomogram for fatty liver disease and reclassified the risk factors for MAFLD.The development cohort had 335 patients who received bioel-ectrical impedance analysis and liver ultrasound attenua-tion measurements at Shenzhen People’s Hospital between September 2020 and June 2021.The validation cohort had 200 patients from other hospitals who received the same evaluation.A random forest procedure and binary logistic analysis were used to screen for risk factors,establish a fatty liver disease predictive model,and forecast the risk of MAFLD.The performance of the nomogram was evaluated by measurement of discrimination,calibration,and clinical usefulness.Results:The nomogram provided good predic-tions in a model that included body mass index(BMI)and waist circumference.The areas under the curve of the nom-ogram were 0.793 in the development cohort and 0.774 in the validation cohort.The nomogram performed well for calibration,category-free net reclassification improvement,and integrated discrimination improvement.Decision curve analysis indicated the nomogram performed better than BMI for predicting net outcome.Conclusions:The nomo-gram was an effective screening tool for fatty liver disease,and for those overweight individuals,may help physicians make appropriate decisions regarding treatment of MAFLD.Di Song Qian Ge Ming Chen Song Bai Xiaoshu Lai Gege Huang Mengmeng Liu Miaofang Lin Jinfeng Xu Fajin Dong 2022Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,6:1

5Identification and Expression of the Conotoxin Homologous Genes in the Giant Triton Snail (Charonia tritonis)显示文摘Conotoxin(CTX)is a small peptide toxin,and plays crucial role in anesthetizes prey,preys and defends competitors.Charonia tritonis is the natural predator of the crown of thorns starfish(CoTS)and the protector of coral reefs.It plays an important role in the coral reef ecosystem.However,the types of toxins produced by tritons and the molecular mechanisms of toxin secretion of C.tritonis are unknown.In the present study,the four conotoxin homologous genes(CTXs)from C.tritonis were identified.Species and conotoxin superfamily phylogenetic tree indicated that CTX-1(CL2216.Contig2)and CTX-4(Unigene 58438_All)belong to the C superfamily,CTX-2(Unigene 66414_All)belong to the V superfamily,and CTX-3(Unigene 21408_All)belong to the B1 superfamily.CTXs were highly expressed in salivary gland,liver and digestive gland.The predation control experiment revealed that the expressions of CTXs were significantly different in salivary gland,liver and digestive gland.The results indicated that CTXs may participate in the process of C.tritonis predating CoTs,and provided a scientific basis for further studying the toxins secretion mechanism of C.tritonis.JIA Huixia ZHANG Gege ZHANG Chenglong ZHANG Hua YAO Gaoyou HE Maoxian LIU Wenguang 2023Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,1:0

7Huoxue Jiedu Huayu recipe(活血解毒化瘀方)alleviates contralateral renal fibrosis in unilateral ureteral obstruction rats by inhibiting the transformation of macrophages to myofibroblast显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the action and underlying mechanisms of Huoxue Jiedu Huayu recipe(活血解毒化瘀方,HJHR)against unilateral ureteral obstruction(UUO)-induced injury in the contralateral kidney.METHODS:Forty-eight male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing(200±10)g were used in this study and randomly assigned to 4 groups:a sham group,a UUO group,a UUO+eplerenone(EPL)group,and a UUO+HJHR group.The contralateral kidneys were harvested for further study 180 d after surgery.Histological analysis,immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence were used to study the fibrosis of the contralateral kidneys obtained from UUO rats.Contralateral kidney damagerelated pathway proteins were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot analysis.RESULTS:HJHR significantly inhibited fibrosis of the contralateral kidney in UUO rats by attenuating the UUOinduced macrophage-to-myofibroblast transition(MMT)in the contralateral kidney.Moreover,HJHR attenuated fibrosis in the contralateral kidney of UUO rats by preventing MMT through the aldosterone/mineralocorticoid receptor/serum/glucocorticoid regulated kinase 1 pathway.CONCLUSIONS:Our findings suggest that HJHR may be a potential treatment for renal interstitial fibrosis of obstructive nephropathy.XIONG Yunzhao LIU Lingjin LIU Ziqian CHEN Gege HAO Juan GAO Xiaomeng QIANG Panpan WANG Zheng XU Qingyou 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,1:0
8Surface engineering of carbon dots for highly sensitive α-glucosidase assay and inhibition evaluation显示文摘Monitoringα-glucosidase(α-Glu)activity is of great significance for the early diagnosis of typeⅡdiabetes.Here the blue fluorescent carbon dots(CDs)were integrated with two different recognizing molecules,β-cyclodextrin and phenylboronic acid,for assembling a multifunctional CDs(mCDs)nanoplatform for sensitively analyzingα-Glu and its inhibitors.The hydrolyzed product of 4-nitrophenyl-α-D-glucopyranoside(α-Glu substrate),p-nitrophenol,could efficiently quench the fluorescence of mCDs due to its cooperative molecular recognition withβ-cyclodextrin and phenylboronic acid.The mCDs could be utilized for the detection ofα-Glu activity with the limit of detection of 0.030 U/L.Moreover,the presentα-Glu detection platform revealed a high selectivity,and other natural enzymes showed scarcely any effect on the present mCDs system.The proposed method could be facilely used to screenα-Glu inhibitors with satisfying performance.The rational mCDs is expected to supplement more comprehensive biosensing platforms for highly sensitive and specific recognition of disease-relevant biomarkers with clinical importance.Meijuan Liang Gege Song Yeqing Wan Yingying Chen Fuan Wang Xiaoqing Liu 2024Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,3:0
9Quantifying spatial distribution of interrill and rill erosion in a loess at different slopes using structure from motion(SfM)photogrammetry显示文摘The spatial distribution of interrill and rill erosion is essential for unravelling soil erosion principles and the application of soil and water conservation practices.To quantify interrill and rill erosion and their spatial development,four 30-min rainfalls at 90 mm h^(-1)intensity were consecutively simulated on runoff plots packed with a loess at six slopes of 10°,15°,20°,25°,30°and 35°.The soil surface was measured using the structure from motion(SfM)photogrammetry upon each simulation run,and the runoff and sediment samples were collected and measured at every 10 min.Rills did not develop until the third simulation run.During the initial two runs,the lower third section was more severely eroded than the upper and middle thirds along the slope direction,yet the interrill erosion was statistically uniform from left to right.Rills tended to emerge by both sidewalls and in the lower portion in the third run.The corresponding rill erosion increased with slope from 10°to 20°and then decreased for the slopes steeper,which was consistent with the slope trend of the sediment yield directly measured.The rills expanded substantially primarily via head retreat and to a lesser extent via sideward erosion after receiving another 30-min rainfall.Rill erosion contributed 69.3%of the total erosion loss,and shifted the critical slope corresponding to the maximum loss from 20°to 25°.These findings demonstrate the significance of rill erosion not only in total soil loss but also in its relation to slope,as well as the effectiveness of SfM photogrammetry in quantifying interrill and rill erosion.Tao He Yang Yang Yangzi Shi Xiaozhen Liang Suhua Fu Gege Xie Baoyuan Liu Yingna Liu 2022International Soil and Water Conservation Research2022,10,3:0
10Attitudes of hospitalized patients toward wearing patient clothing in Tianjin,China:A cross-sectional survey显示文摘Objective:To assess the attitudes of hospitalized patients toward wearing patient clothing and identify the factors those influence their negative attitudes.Methods:A cross-sectional design was employed and a questionnaire survey was conducted.The data were collected from 251 hospitalized patients between July 2015 and August 2015.Results:Around 57.8%of the participants reported that they were unwilling to wear patient clothing.Among them,60.7%knew little to nothing about the function of patient clothing.Some of these patients were unwilling to wear patient clothing because these uniforms had poor comfort(26.2%),fit(34.5%),hygiene(66.2%),and appearance(31.1%),and wearing them was psychologically uncomfortable(43.5%).Conclusions:More than half of the hospitalized patients dislike wearing patient clothing because they were unaware of its functions and were skeptical about its hygiene,comfortability,fit,and appearance.Therefore,these patients must be provided with comfortable,well fitting,hygienic,and aesthetically pleasing clothing.Lu Liu Haofeng Zhao Gege Lu Yulu Ling Lingjie Jiang Huilan Cai Weijie Gao 2016International Journal of Nursing Sciences2016,3,4:0
