Facile metagrating holograms with broadband and extreme angle tolerance显示文摘The emerging meta-holograms rely on arrays of intractable meta-atoms with various geometries and sizes for customized phase profiles that can precisely modulate the phase of a wavefront at an optimal incident angle for given wavelengths. The stringent and band-limited angle tolerance remains a fundamental obstacle for their practical application,in addition to high fabrication precision demands.Utilizing a different design principle,we determined that facile metagrating holograms based on extraordinary optical diffraction can allow the molding of arbitrary wavefronts with extreme angle tolerances(near-grazing incidence)in the visible–near-infrared regime.By modulating the displacements between uniformly sized meta-atoms rather than the geometrical parameters, the metagratings produce a robust detour phase profile that is irrespective of the wavelength or incident angle. The demonstration of high-fidelity meta-holograms and in-site polarization multiplexing significantly simplifies the metasurface design and lowers the fabrication demand, thereby opening new routes for flat optics with high performances and improved practicality.Zi-Lan Deng Junhong Deng Xin Zhuang Shuai Wang Tan Shi Guo Ping Wang Yao Wang Jian Xu Yaoyu Cao Xiaolei Wang Xing Cheng Guixin Li Xiangping Li 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:17
Complex variable method for an anti-plane elliptical cavity of one-dimensional hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystals显示文摘Based on the fundamental equations of piezoelasticity of quasicrystal media, using the symmetry operations of point groups, the linear piezoelasticity behavior of one-dimensional(1D)hexagonal quasicrystals is investigated and the piezoelasticity problem of 1D hexagonal quasicrystals is decomposed into two uncoupled problems, i.e., the classical plane elasticity problem of conventional hexagonal crystals and the phonon–phason-electric coupling elasticity problem of1 D hexagonal quasicrystals. The final governing equations are derived for the phonon–phasonelectric coupling anti-plane elasticity of 1D hexagonal quasicrystals. The complex variable method for an anti-plane elliptical cavity in 1D hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystals is proposed and the exact solutions of complex potential functions, the stresses and displacements of the phonon and the phason fields, the electric displacements and the electric potential are obtained explicitly.Reducing the cavity into a crack, the explicit solutions in closed forms of electro–elastic fields, the field intensity factors and the energy release rate near the crack tip are derived.Yu Jing Guo Junhong Xing Yongming 2015Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,4:13
General solutions of plane problem in one-dimensional quasicrystal piezoelectric materials and its application on fracture mechanics显示文摘Based on the fundamental equations of piezoelasticity of quasicrystals(QCs),with the symmetry operations of point groups, the plane piezoelasticity theory of onedimensional(1D) QCs with all point groups is investigated systematically. The governing equations of the piezoelasticity problem for 1D QCs including monoclinic QCs,orthorhombic QCs, tetragonal QCs, and hexagonal QCs are deduced rigorously. The general solutions of the piezoelasticity problem for these QCs are derived by the operator method and the complex variable function method. As an application, an antiplane crack problem is further considered by the semi-inverse method, and the closed-form solutions of the phonon, phason, and electric fields near the crack tip are obtained. The path-independent integral derived from the conservation integral equals the energy release rate.Jing YU Junhong GUO Ernian PAN Yongming XING 2015Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2015,36,6:10
Anti-plane problem of four edge cracks emanating from a square hole in piezoelectric solids显示文摘By constructing a new numerical conformal mapping and using the Stroh-type formulism, an anti-plane problem of four edge cracks emanating from a square hole in piezoelectric solids is investigated. The explicit expressions of the complex potential function, field intensity factors, energy release rates and mechanical strain energy release rate near the crack tip are obtained under the assumptions that the surfaces of the cracks and hole are electrically permeable and electrically impermeable. Numerical examples are presented to show the influences of the geometrical parameters of defects and applied mechanical/electrical loads on the energy release rate and mechanical strain energy release rate under two electrical boundary conditions.Fan Shiwang Guo Junhong Yu Jing 2017Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,1:9
A natural variation in Ribonuclease H-like gene underlies Rht8 to confer“Green Revolution”trait in wheat显示文摘Dear Editor,Introduction of gibberellin(GA)-insensitive Reduced height(Rht)genes,Rht-B1b and Rht-D1b,has resulted in the“Green Revolution”in modern wheat cultivars(Triticum aestivum)that has skyrocketed wheat grain yields worldwide since the 1960s(Peng et al.,1999;Velde et al.,2021).However,Rht-B1b/D1b also reduce coleoptiles, which is undesired in dryland regions where deep planting is essential for seedling establishment(Rebetzke et al.,1999,Rebetzke et al.,2001;Ellis et al.,2004).Lingling Chai Mingming Xin Chaoqun Dong Zhaoyan Chen Huijie Zhai Junhong Zhuang Xuejiao Cheng Naijiao Wang Jia Geng Xiaobo Wang Ruolin Bian Yingyin Yao Weilong Guo Zhaorong Hu Huiru Peng Guihua Bai Qixin Sun Zhenqi Su Jie Liu Zhongfu Ni 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,3:8
Surface effects on a mode-III reinforced nano-elliptical hole embedded in one-dimensional hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystals显示文摘To effectively reduce the field concentration around a hole or crack,an anti-plane shear problem of a nano-elliptical hole or a nano-crack pasting a reinforcement layer in a one-dimensional(1D)hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystal(PQC)is investigated subject to remotely mechanical and electrical loadings. The surface effect and dielectric characteristics inside the hole are considered for actuality.By utilizing the technique of conformal mapping and the complex variable method, the phonon stresses, phason stresses, and electric displacements in the matrix and reinforcement layer are exactly derived under both electrically permeable and impermeable boundary conditions.Three size-dependent field intensity factors near the nano-crack tip are further obtained when the nano-elliptical hole is reduced to the nano-crack.Numerical examples are illustrated to show the effects of material properties of the surface layer and reinforced layer, the aspect ratio of the hole, and the thickness of the reinforcing layer on the field concentration of the nano-elliptical hole and the field intensity factors near the nano-crack tip.The results indicate that the properties of the surface layer and reinforcement layer and the electrical boundary conditions have great effects on the field concentration of the nano-hole and nano-crack,which are useful for optimizing and designing the microdevices by PQC nanocomposites in engineering practice.Zhina ZHAO Junhong GUO 2021Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2021,42,5:6
Pitavastatin attenuates AGEs-induced mitophagy via inhibition of ROS generation in the mitochondria of cardiomyocytes显示文摘This study aimed to investigate whether pitavastatin protected against injury induced by advanced glycation end products products(AGEs) in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes, and to examine the underlying mechanisms.Cardiomyocytes of neonatal rats were incubated for 48 hours with AGEs(100 μg/mL),receptor for advanced glycation end products(RAGE),antibody(1 μg/mL) and pitavastatin(600 ng/mL).The levels of p62 and beclinl were determined by Western blotting.Mitochondrial membrane potential(△Ψm) and the generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) were measured through the JC-1 and DCFH-DA.In the AGEs group, the expression of beclinl was remarkably increased compared to the control group, while the expression of p62 was significantly decreased.AGEs also markedly decreased △Ψm and significantly increased ROS compared with the control group. After treatment with RAGE antibody or pitavastatin, the level of beclinl was markedly decreased compared with the AGEs group, but the level of p62 was remarkably increased. In the AGEs + RAGE antibody group and AGEs+ pitavastatin group,△Ψm was significantly increased and ROS was remarkably decreased compared with the AGEs group. In conclusion,AGEs-RAGE may induce autophagy of cardiomyocytes by generation of ROS and pitavastatin could protect against AGEs-induced injury against cardiomyocytes.Zhimin Zha Junhong Wang Shiling Li Yan Guo 2018The Journal of Biomedical Research2018,32,4:6
Mining, characterization, and exploitation of EST-derived microsatellites in Gossypium barbadense显示文摘Simple sequence repeats(SSRs) have been widely applied as molecular markers in genetic studies. However, the number of expressed sequence tags(ESTs) and SSR markers from Gossypium barbadense is fewer than those from other cotton species. In this study,EST-SSR distribution from G.barbadense was characterized and new G.barbadense-derived EST-SSR markers were determined on the basis of the ESTs obtained by randomly sequencing 2 cDNA libraries associated with fiber development in G.barbadense.By mining 9697 non-redundant ESTs,a total of 638 SSR loci derived from 595 ESTs were observed. In G.barbadense, the frequency of ESTs containing SSRs was 6.13%,with an average of 1 SSR in every 10.4 kb of EST sequence.Furthermore, trinucleotide was found to be the most abundant repeat type among 2-6-nucleotide repeat types. It accounted for 26.6% of the total, followed by the hexanucleotide(26.0%) and pentanucleotide repeats(25.9%).Among all the repeat motifs,(AAG)n accounted for the highest proportion.EST-SSR primer pairs were developed using the Primer3 program, and the redundant primers were removed using the virtual PCR approach. As a result,380 non-redundant EST-SSR primer pairs were developed and used to detect polymorphisms between the mapping parents G.hirsutum 'TM-1' and G.barbadense 'Hai7124' for constructing linkage groups in cultivated allotetraploid cotton.Out of these,98(25.8%) primer pairs detected polymorphisms.Finally,95 polymorphic loci from 82 primer pairs were integrated into the backbone genetic map;of these,42 were mapped into the A subgenome and 53 into the D subgenome. The present work provided the foundation for constructing saturated genetic maps and conducting comparative genomic studies on different cotton species.LU YuanDa CAI CaiPing WANG Lei LIN ShaoYan ZHAO Liang TIAN LiangLiang LU JunHong ZHANG TianZhen GUO WangZhen 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,18:5

Effective electroelastic constants for three-phase confocal elliptical cylinder model in piezoelectric quasicrystal composites显示文摘A three-phase confocal elliptical cylinder model is proposed to analyze micromechanics of one-dimensional hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystal(PQC) composites.Exact solutions of the phonon, phason, and electric fields are obtained by using the conformal mapping combined with the Laurent expansion technique when the model is subject to far-field anti-plane mechanical and in-plane electric loadings. The effective electroelastic constants of several different composites made up of PQC,quasicrystal(QC),and piezoelectric(PE) materials are predicted by the generalized self-consistent method.Numerical examples are conducted to show the effects of the volume fraction and the cross-sectional shape of inclusion(or fiber) on the effective electroelastic constants of these composites.Compared with other micromechanical methods, the generalized selfconsistent and Mori-Tanaka methods can predict the effective electroelastic constants of the composites consistently.Yongbin WANG Junhong GUO 2018Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2018,39,6:3
Biofluid Biomarkers of Alzheimer's Disease:Progress,Problems, and Perspectives显示文摘Since the establishment of the biomarker-based A-T-N(Amyloid/Tau/Neurodegeneration)framework in Alzheimer's disease(AD),the diagnosis of AD has become more precise, and cerebrospinal fluid tests and positron emission tomography examinations based on this framework have become widely accepted. However, the A-T-N framework does not encompass the whole spectrum of AD pathologies, and problems with invasiveness and high cost limit the application of the above diagnostic methods aimed at the central nervous system. Therefore,we suggest the addition of an“X”to the A-T-N framework and a focus on peripheral biomarkers in the diagnosis of AD.In this review,we retrospectively describe the recent progress in biomarkers based on the A-T-N-X framework, analyze the problems, and present our perspectives on the diagnosis of AD.Shan Huang Yan-Jiang Wang Junhong Guo 2022Neuroscience Bulletin2022,38,6:3
AVP(4-8) Improves Cognitive Behaviors and Hippocampal Synaptic Plasticity in the APP/PS1 Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease显示文摘Memory deficits with aging are related to the neurodegeneration in the brain, including a reduction in arginine vasopressin(AVP) in the brain of patients with Alzheimer’s disease(AD). AVP(4-8), different from its precursor AVP, plays memory enhancement roles in the CNS without peripheral side-effects. However, it is not clear whether AVP(4-8) can improve cognitive behaviors and synaptic plasticity in the APP/PS1 mouse model of AD. Here, we investigated for the first time the neuroprotective effects of AVP(4-8) on memory behaviors and in vivo long-term potentiation(LTP) in APP/PS1-AD mice. The results showed that:(1) APP/PS1-AD mice had lower spontaneous alternation in the Y-maze than wild-type(WT) mice, and this was significantly reversed by AVP(4-8);(2) the prolonged escape latency of APP/PS1-AD mice in the Morris water maze was significantly decreased by AVP(4-8), and the decreased swimming time in target quadrant recovered significantly after AVP(4-8) treatment;(3) in vivo hippocampal LTP induced by high-frequency stimulation had a significant deficit in the AD mice, and this was partly rescued by AVP(4-8);(4) AVP(4-8)significantly up-regulated the expression levels of postsynaptic density 95(PSD95) and nerve growth factor(NGF)in the hippocampus of AD mice. These results reveal the beneficial effects of AVP(4-8) in APP/PS1-AD mice, showing that the intranasal administration of AVP(4-8)effectively improved the working memory and long-term spatial memory of APP/PS1-AD mice, which may be associated with the elevation of PSD95 and NGF levels in the brain and the maintenance of hippocampal synaptic plasticity.Xiumin Zhang Fang Zhao Chenfang Wang Jun Zhang Yu Bai Fang Zhou Zhaojun Wang Meina Wu Wei Yang Junhong Guo Jinshun Qi 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,3:3
Nonlocal vibration and buckling of two-dimensional layered quasicrystal nanoplates embedded in an elastic medium显示文摘A mathematical model for nonlocal vibration and buckling of embedded two-dimensional(2 D) decagonal quasicrystal(QC) layered nanoplates is proposed. The Pasternak-type foundation is used to simulate the interaction between the nanoplates and the elastic medium. The exact solutions of the nonlocal vibration frequency and buckling critical load of the 2 D decagonal QC layered nanoplates are obtained by solving the eigensystem and using the propagator matrix method. The present three-dimensional(3 D) exact solution can predict correctly the nature frequencies and critical loads of the nanoplates as compared with previous thin-plate and medium-thick-plate theories.Numerical examples are provided to display the effects of the quasiperiodic direction,length-to-width ratio, thickness of the nanoplates, nonlocal parameter, stacking sequence, and medium elasticity on the vibration frequency and critical buckling load of the 2 D decagonal QC nanoplates. The results show that the effects of the quasiperiodic direction on the vibration frequency and critical buckling load depend on the length-to-width ratio of the nanoplates. The thickness of the nanoplate and the elasticity of the surrounding medium can be adjusted for optimal frequency and critical buckling load of the nanoplate. This feature is useful since the frequency and critical buckling load of the 2 D decagonal QCs as coating materials of plate structures can now be tuned as one desire.Tuoya SUN Junhong GUO E.PAN 2021Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2021,42,8:3
Line field analysis and complex variable method for solving elastic-plastic fields around an anti-plane elliptic hole显示文摘A new approach is proposed to solve the elastic-plastic fields near the major-axis line of an elliptical hole. The complex variable method is used to determine the elastic fields near the major-axis line of the elliptical hole. Then, by using the line field analysis method, the exact and new solutions of the stresses, strains in the plastic zone, the size of the plastic region and the unit normal vector of the elastic-plastic boundary near the major-axis line of the elliptical hole are obtained for an anti-plane elliptical hole in a perfectly elastic-plastic solid. The usual small scale yielding assumptions are not adopted in the analysis. The present method is simple, easy and efficient. The influences of applied mechanical loading on the size of plastic zone are discussed.GUO JunHong LU ZiXing 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,8:3
Static deformation of a multilayered one-dimensional hexagonal quasicrystal plate with piezoelectric effect显示文摘Quasicrystals(QCs) are sensitive to the piezoelectric(PE) effect. This paper studies static deformation of a multilayered one-dimensional(1 D) hexagonal QC plate with the PE effect. The exact closed-form solutions of the extended displacement and traction for a homogeneous piezoelectric quasicrystal(PQC) plate are derived from an eigensystem. The general solutions for multilayered PQC plates are then obtained using the propagator matrix method when mechanical and electrical loads are applied on the top surface of the plate. Numerical examples for several sandwich plates made up of PQC, PE, and QC materials are provided to show the effect of stacking sequence on phonon, phason, and electric fields under mechanical and electrical loads, which is useful in designing new composites for engineering structures.Tuoya SUN Junhong GUO Xiaoyan ZHANG 2018Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2018,39,3:3
SARS-CoV-2 spike protein interacts with and activates TLR41显示文摘Dear Editor,Accumulating clinical data suggest the main causes of death by COVID-19 include respiratory failure and the onset of sepsis.1 Importantly, sepsis has been observed in nearly all deceased patients.2,3,4,5 It remains elusive how SARS-CoV-2 infection results in viral sepsis in humans.Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)mediates anti-gram-negative bacterial immune responses by recognizing lipopolysaccharide(LPS)from bacteria.6 We recently found that SARS-CoV-2 infection provoked an anti-bacterial like response at the very early stage of infection via TLR4.However,the identity of the original trigger initiating these abnormal immune responses during SARS-CoV-2 infection is unknown.Yingchi Zhao Ming Kuang Junhong Li Ling Zhu Zijing Jia Xuefei Guo Yaling Hu Jun Kong Hang Yin Xiangxi Wang Fuping You 2021Cell Research2021,31,7:3
Bending Deformation of Multilayered One-Dimensional Quasicrystal Nanoplates Based on the Modified Couple Stress Theory显示文摘The modified couple stress theory has been applied in many nanomaterials except for nano-quasicrystals.In this paper, the modified couple stress theory is firstly adopted to analyze the static bending deformation of multilayered one-dimensional(ID)hexagonal quasicrystal(QC)nanoplates under surface loadings. The general solutions for the extended displacement and traction vectors in a simply supported and homogeneous QC nanoplate are derived by solving an eigenvalue problem reduced from the governing equations.Utilizing the propagator matrix method, the analytical solutions of multilayered ID QC nanoplates are then obtained by assuming that the layer interfaces are continuous.Numerical examples for some kinds of nanoplates made up of QC and crystal(BaTiOa)are provided to illustrate the effects of the material length parameter, the number of layers and the stacking sequence of nanoplates on the phonon and phason fields, which is helpful for the application of QCs to surface coating and solar energy selective absorber.Xiaofei Li Junhong Guo Tuoya Sun 2019Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2019,32,6:2
Biomarkers of aging显示文摘Aging biomarkers are a combination of biological parameters to(i)assess age-related changes,(ii)track the physiological aging process, and(iii)predict the transition into a pathological status.Although a broad spectrum of aging biomarkers has been developed, their potential uses and limitations remain poorly characterized. An immediate goal of biomarkers is to help us answer the following three fundamental questions in aging research:How old are we?Why do we get old?And how can we age slower? This review aims to address this need. Here,we summarize our current knowledge of biomarkers developed for cellular, organ, and organismal levels of aging, comprising six pillars:physiological characteristics, medical imaging, histological features, cellular alterations, molecular changes, and secretory factors. To fulfill all these requisites,we propose that aging biomarkers should qualify for being specific, systemic, and clinically relevant.Aging Biomarker Consortium Hainan Bao Jiani Cao Mengting Chen Min Chen Wei Chen Xiao Chen Yanhao Chen Yu Chen Yutian Chen Zhiyang Chen Jagadish K Chhetri Yingjie Ding Junlin Feng Jun Guo Mengmeng Guo Chuting He Yujuan Jia Haiping Jiang Ying Jing Dingfeng Li Jiaming Li Jingyi Li Qinhao Liang Rui Liang Feng Liu Xiaoqian Liu Zuojun Liu Oscar Junhong Luo Jianwei Lv Jingyi Ma Kehang Mao Jiawei Nie Xinhua Qiao Xinpei Sun Xiaoqiang Tang Jianfang Wang Qiaoran Wang Siyuan Wang Xuan Wang Yaning Wang Yuhan Wang Rimo Wu Kai Xia Fu-Hui Xiao Lingyan Xu Yingying Xu Haoteng Yan Liang Yang Ruici Yang Yuanxin Yang Yilin Ying Le Zhang Weiwei Zhang Wenwan Zhang Xing Zhang Zhuo Zhang Min Zhou Rui Zhou Qingchen Zhu Zhengmao Zhu Feng Cao Zhongwei Cao Piu Chan Chang Chen Guobing Chen Hou-Zao Chen Jun Chen Weimin Ci Bi-Sen Ding Qiurong Ding Feng Gao Jing-Dong JHan Kai Huang Zhenyu Ju Qing-Peng Kong Ji Li Jian Li Xin Li Baohua Liu Feng Liu Lin Liu Qiang Liu Qiang Liu Xingguo Liu Yong Liu Xianghang Luo Shuai Ma Xinran Ma Zhiyong Mao Jing Nie Yaojin Peng Jing Qu Jie Ren Ruibao Ren Moshi Song Zhou Songyang Yi Eve Sun Yu Sun Mei Tian Shusen Wang Si Wang Xia Wang Xiaoning Wang Yan-Jiang Wang Yunfang Wang Catherine CL Wong Andy Peng Xiang Yichuan Xiao Zhengwei Xie Daichao Xu Jing Ye Rui Yue Cuntai Zhang Hongbo Zhang Liang Zhang Weiqi Zhang Yong Zhang Yun-Wu Zhang Zhuohua Zhang Tongbiao Zhao Yuzheng Zhao Dahai Zhu Weiguo Zou Gang Pei Guang-Hui Liu 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,5:2
