1Relationship of human leukocyte antigen class II genes with the susceptibility to hepatitis B virus infection and the response to interferon in HBV-infected patients显示文摘AIM: To study the relationship of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DRB1 and -DQB1 alleles with the genetic susceptibility to HBV infection and the response to interferon (IFN) in HBV-infected patients.METHODS: Low-resolution DNA typing kit was used to determine HLA-DR-1 and -DQB1 genes in 72 patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and HLA-DRB1 in 200 healthy people ready to donate their bone marrow in Shanghai.Among CHB patients, 35 were treated with IFNα-1b for 24 wk.RESULTS: The frequencies of HLA-DRB1*06, DRB1*08and DRB1*16 alleles in 72 patients were higher than in 200 healthy people (2.08% vs0%, OR = 3.837, P= 0.018;11.11% vs5.50%, OR = 2.148, P= 0.034; and 6.94% vs 3.00%, OR = 0.625, P = 0.049, respectively); whereas that of DRB1*07 allele was lower (2.78% vs 7.75%,OR = 0.340, P = 0.046). The frequency of HLA-DRB1* 14allele was higher in 11 responders to IFN compared with 24 non-responders (18.18% vs2.08%, OR = 10.444,P = 0.031), whereas that of DQB1*07 allele was inverse (9.09% vs 37.50%, OR = 0.167, P= 0.021).CONCLUSION: The polymorphism of HLA class Ⅱ may influence the susceptibility to HBV infection and the response to IFN in studied CHB patients. 4Bisoprolol reverses down-regulation of potassium channel proteins in ventricular tissues of rabbits with heart failure显示文摘Remodeling of ion channels is an important mechanism of arrhythmia induced by heart failure (HF).We investigated the expression of potassium channel encoding genes in the ventricles of rabbit established by volumeoverload operation followed with pressure-overload.The reversible effect of these changes with bisoprolol was also evaluated.The HF group exhibited left ventricular enlargement,systolic dysfunction,prolongation of corrected QT interval (QTc),and increased plasma brain natriuretic peptide levels in the HF rabbits.Several potassium channel subunit encoding genes were consistently down-regulated in the HF rabbits.After bisoprolol treatment,heart function was improved significantly and QTc was shortened.Additionally,the mRNA expression of potassium channel subunit genes could be partially reversed.The down-regulated expression of potassium channel subunits Kv4.3,Kv1.4,KvLQT1,minK and Kir 2.1 may contribute to the prolongation of action potential duration in the heart of rabbits induced by volume combined with pressure overload HF.Bisoprolol could partially reverse these down-regulations and improve heart function.Xi Li Tingzhong Wang Ke Han Xiaozhen Zhuo Qun Lu Aiqun Ma 2011The Journal of Biomedical Research2011,25,4:6

7Estimating biological reference points for Largehead hairtail(Trichiurus lepturus) fishery in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea显示文摘It is important to find a reliable method to estimate maximum sustainable yield(MSY)or total allowable catch(TAC)for fishery management,especially when the data availability is limited which is a case in China.A recently developed method(CMSY)is a data-poor method,which requires only catch data,resilience and exploitation history at the first and final years of the catch data.CMSY was used in this study to estimate the biological reference points for Largehead hairtail(Trichiurus lepturus,Temminck and Schlegel)in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea,based on the fishery data from China Fishery Statistical Year Books during 1986 to 2012.Additionally,Bayesian state-space Schaefer surplus production model(BSM)and the classical surplus production models(Schaefer and Fox)performed by software CEDA and ASPIC,were also projected in this study to compare with the performance of CMSY.The estimated MSYs from all models are about 19.7×104–27.0×104 t,while CMSY and BSM yielded more reasonable population parameter estimates(the intrinsic population growth rate and the carrying capacity).The biological reference points of B/BMSY smaller than 1.0,while F/FMSY higher than 1.0 revealed an over-exploitation of the fishery,indicating that more conservative management strategies are required for Largehead hairtail fishery.Yupeng Ji Qun Liu Baochao Liao Qingqing Zhang Ya’nan Han 2019Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,10:5

9Role of miR-124 in the regulation of retinoic acid-induced Neuro-2A cell differentiation显示文摘Retinoic acid can cause many types of cells,including mouse neuroblastoma Neuro-2 A cells,to differentiate into neurons.However,it is still unknown whether microRNAs(miRNAs)play a role in this neuronal differentiation.To address this issue,real-time polymerase chain reaction assays were used to detect the expression of several differentiation-related miRNAs during the differentiation of retinoic acid-treated Neuro-2 A cells.The results revealed that miR-124 and miR-9 were upregulated,while miR-125 b was downregulated in retinoic acid-treated Neuro-2 A cells.To identify the miRNA that may play a key role,miR-124 expression was regulated by transfection of miRNA mimics or inhibitors.Morphological analysis results showed that inhibition of miR-124 expression reversed the effects of retinoic acid on neurite outgrowth.Moreover,miR-124 overexpression alone caused Neuro-2 A cells to differentiate into neurons,and its inhibitor could block this effect.These results suggest that miR-124 plays an important role in retinoic acid-induced differentiation of Neuro-2 A cells.Qun You Qiang Gong Yu-Qiao Han Rou Pi Yi-Jie Du Su-Zhen Dong 2020Neural Regeneration Research2020,15,6:4
10Optimal design of Er/Yb co-doped fiber amplifiers with an Yb-band fiber Bragg grating显示文摘In this paper, Er/Yb co-doped fiber amplifiers(EYDFAs) with an Yb-band fiber Bragg grating(FBG) at the pump end to improve the performance of the amplifier is systematically studied. The influence of the reflectivity and center wavelength of the FBG along with the gain-fiber length on the performance of an EYDFA are numerically analyzed. The results show that the wavelength of the FBG has critical influence on the efficiency of the EYDFA,whereas the requirement to its reflectivity is relaxed. It is an effective and promising way to improve the efficiency of a high-power pumped EYDFA by introducing a suitable Yb-band FBG at the pump end. 13Fiber loop ring-down cavity integrated U-bent single-mode-fiber for magnetic field sensing显示文摘A novel magnetic field sensing system based on the fiber loop ring-down technique is proposed in this paper. In the fiber loop, a U-bent single-mode-fiber structure coated with magnetic fluid(MF) serves as the sensing head, and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier(EDFA) is introduced to compensate for the intrinsic loss of the cavity. The ring-down time of the system varies with the change of applied magnetic field due to the tunable absorption coefficient and refractive index of the MF. Therefore, measurement of the magnetic field can be realized by monitoring the ringdown time. The experimental results show that the performance of the system is extremely dependent on the interrogation wavelength, because both the gain of the EDFA and the loss of the sensing head are wavelength dependent.We found that at the optimal wavelength, the ratio of the gain to loss attained its maximum. 15Variations in OsSPL10 confer drought tolerance by directly regulating OsNAC2 expression and ROS production in rice显示文摘Drought is a major factor restricting the production of rice(Oryza sativa L.).The identification of natural variants for drought stress-related genes is an important step toward developing genetically improved rice varieties.Here,we characterized a member of the SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE(SPL)family,OsSPL10,as a transcription factor involved in the regulation of drought tolerance in rice.OsSPL10 appears to play a vital role in drought tolerance by controlling reactive oxygen species(ROS)production and stomatal movements.Haplotype and allele frequency analyses of OsSPL10 indicated that most upland rice and improved lowland rice varieties harbor the OsSPL10Hap1allele,whereas the OsSPL10Hap2allele was mainly present in lowland and landrace rice varieties.Importantly,we demonstrated that the varieties with the OsSPL10Hap1allele showed low expression levels of OsSPL10 and its downstream gene,OsNAC2,which decreases the expression of OsAP37 and increases the expression of OsCOX11,thus preventing ROS accumulation and programmed cell death(PCD).Furthermore,the knockdown or knockout of OsSPL10 induced fast stomatal closure and prevented water loss,thereby improving drought tolerance in rice.Based on these observations,we propose that OsSPL10 confers drought tolerance by regulating OsNAC2 expression and that OsSPL10Hap1could be a valuable haplotype for the genetic improvement of drought tolerance in rice.Yingxiu Li Shichen Han Xingming Sun Najeeb Ullah Khan Qun Zhong Zhanying Zhang Hongliang Zhang Feng Ming Zichao Li Jinjie Li 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,4:2

17A multi-paradigm decision modeling framework for combat system effectiveness measurement based on domain-specific modeling显示文摘Decision modeling is an essential part of the combat system effectiveness simulation (CoSES), which needs to cope with the cognitive quality, diversity, flexibility, and higher abstraction of decision making. In this paper, a multi-paradigm decision modeling framework is proposed to support decision modeling at three levels of abstraction based on domain-specific modeling (DSM). This framework designs a domain-specific modeling language (DSML) for decision modeling to raise the abstraction level of modeling, transforms the domain-specific models to formalism-based models to enable formal analysis and early verification and validation, and implements the semantics of the DSML based on a Python scripts framework which incorporates the decision model into the whole simulation system.
