1Application of bioactive hydrogels combined with dental pulp stem cells for the repair of large gap peripheral nerve injuries显示文摘Due to the limitations in autogenous nerve grafting or Schwann cell transplantation,large gap peripheral nerve injuries require a bridging strategy supported by nerve conduit.Cell based therapies provide a novel treatment for peripheral nerve injuries.In this study,we first experimented an optimal scaffold material synthesis protocol,from where we selected the 10%GFD formula(10%GelMA hydrogel,recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor and dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs))to fill a cellulose/soy protein isolate composite membrane(CSM)tube to construct a third generation of nerve regeneration conduit,CSM-GFD.Then this CSM-GFD conduit was applied to repair a 15-mm long defect of sciatic nerve in a rat model.After 12 week post implant surgery,at histologic level,we found CSM-GFD conduit could regenerate nerve tissue like neuron and Schwann like nerve cells and myelinated nerve fibers.At physical level,CSM-GFD achieved functional recovery assessed by a sciatic functional index study.In both levels,CSM-GFD performed like what gold standard,the nerve autograft,could do.Further,we unveiled that almost all newly formed nerve tissue at defect site was originated from the direct differentiation of exogeneous DPSCs in CSM-GFD.In conclusion,we claimed that this third-generation nerve regeneration conduit,CSM-GFD,could be a promising tissue engineering approach to replace the conventional nerve autograft to treat the large gap defect in peripheral nerve injuries.Lihua Luo Yan He Ling Jin Yanni Zhang Fernando P.Guastaldi Abdullkhaleg A.Albashari Fengting Hu Xiaoyan Wang Lei Wang Jian Xiao Lingli Li Jianming Wang Akon Higuchi Qingsong Ye 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,3:11

3Study on Extraction Technology of Theabrownine from Liubao Tea and Its Antioxidant Activity显示文摘[Objective]This study aimed to provide theoretical reference for the extraction of theabrownine from Liubao tea,determination of the biological activity,and development and utilization of theabrownine. [Method]Orthogonal experimental design was adopted to investigate the effects of solid-liquid ratio,extraction temperature,extraction duration,and extraction frequency on the yield of theabrownine extracted from Liubao tea. The extraction technology was optimized,and the antioxidant activity of theabrownine was analyzed. [Result] The results showed that extraction frequency and extraction temperature had significant effects on the yield of theabrownine extracted from Liubao tea,while solid-liquid ratio and extraction duration had no significant effect. The optimal conditions for extracting theabrownine from Liubao tea were determined as follows: solid-liquid ratio was 1∶30,extraction temperature was 100 ℃,extraction duration was 80 min,and extraction frequency was 4 times. Under these conditions,the yield of theabrownine reached 22.92%. Results of antioxidant activity determination showed that hydroxyl radical-scavenging activity of theabrownine was as high as 74%,and the scavenging effects was significantly higher than that of Vitamin C under low concentrations; nitroso-scavenging activity of theabrownine reached 73%,with no significant difference from that of Vitamin C; superoxide anion free radical-scavenging activity of theabrownine could be above 60%,which was lower than that of Vitamin C. 5Amelioration of imiquimod-induced psoriasis-like dermatitis in mice by DSW therapy inspired hydrogel显示文摘Psoriasis is a long-lasting and recurrent autoimmune disease which is incurable so far.Dead Sea water(DSW)therapy is an effective approach to help control the symptoms of psoriasis due to the abundant mineral ions in DSW,which inspired the material formulation in this study.Rubidium–Sodium alginate/Polyacrylamide hydrogels(Rb-SA/PAAm gels)composed of sodium alginate and polyacrylamide interpenetrating network structure with different concentrations of rubidium and certain magnesium and zinc content were prepared for the treatment of psoriasis.The obtained results suggest the good mechanical properties of the Rb-SA/PAAm gels including toughness and swelling performance.In terms of in vitro tests,the Rb-SA/PAAm gels not only show nontoxicity to human keratinocyte cell line(Hacats)but also inhibits the activity against inflammatory NF-κβ signaling pathway.Meanwhile,they can release Rb+which enable the Rb-SA/PAAm gels have better antibacterial ability to Streptococcus and Escherichia coli.The results obtained from in vivo tests indicate that these hydrogels could alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis caused by Imiquimod(IMQ)in mice by reducing the inflammatory factor in STAT3 pathway and therefore reduce the immune stimulation of the spleen.In conclusion,the 100Rb-SA/PAAm gel has demonstrated great potential to be a topical wettable dressing for psoriasis treatment.Xiang He Bing Zhu WeiJia Xie Yu He Jian Song Yi Zhang Chi Sun Hao Li QiYu Tang XinXin Sun Yanni Tan Yong Liu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,2:2

9Enhanced inhibition of talc flotation using acidified sodium silicate and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose as the combined inhibitor显示文摘The flotation separation of chalcopyrite and talc is challenging due to their similar natural floatability characteristics.Besides,it is usually difficult to effectively inhibit talc by adding sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)alone during chalcopyrite flotation.Here,a combined inhibitor comprising acidified sodium silicate(ASS)and CMC was employed to realize effective flotation separation of chalcopyrite and talc,and the combined inhibition mechanism was further investigated.Microflotation results showed that adding ASS strengthened the inhibitory effect of CMC on talc and improved the separation of chalcopyrite and talc.The zeta potential,Fourier transform infrared,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis indicated that CMC was mainly adsorbed on the talc surface via hydroxyl and carboxyl groups.Moreover,the addition of ASS improved the adsorption of carboxyl groups.Furthermore,the adsorption experiments and apparent viscosity measurements revealed that adding ASS dispersed the pulp well,which reduced the apparent viscosity,improved the adsorption amount of CMC on the talc surface,and enhanced the inhibition of talc in chalcopyrite flotation.Jiwei Xue Huazhen Tu Jin Shi Yanni An He Wan Xianzhong Bu 2023International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,7:1
10Remote control of the recruitment and capture of endogenous stem cells by ultrasound for in situ repair of bone defects显示文摘Stem cell-based tissue engineering has provided a promising platform for repairing of bone defects.However,the use of exogenous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)still faces many challenges such as limited sources and potential risks.It is important to develop new approach to effectively recruit endogenous BMSCs and capture them for in situ bone regeneration.Here,we designed an acoustically responsive scaffold(ARS)and embedded it into SDF-1/BMP-2 loaded hydrogel to obtain biomimetic hydrogel scaffold complexes(BSC).The SDF-1/BMP-2 cytokines can be released on demand from the BSC implanted into the defected bone via pulsed ultrasound(p-US)irradiation at optimized acoustic parameters,recruiting the endogenous BMSCs to the bone defected or BSC site.Accompanied by the daily p-US irradiation for 14 days,the alginate hydrogel was degraded,resulting in the exposure of ARS to these recruited host stem cells.Then another set of sinusoidal continuous wave ultrasound(s-US)irradiation was applied to excite the ARS intrinsic resonance,forming highly localized acoustic field around its surface and generating enhanced acoustic trapping force,by which these recruited endogenous stem cells would be captured on the scaffold,greatly promoting them to adhesively grow for in situ bone tissue regeneration.Our study provides a novel and effective strategy for in situ bone defect repairing through acoustically manipulating endogenous BMSCs.Yanni He Fei Li Peng Jiang Feiyan Cai Qin Lin Meijun Zhou Hongmei Liu Fei Yan 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,3:1
11Enhanced degradation of organic contaminants by Fe(Ⅲ)/peroxymonosulfate process with L-cysteine显示文摘The difficulty in Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ) conversion in the Fe(Ⅲ)/peroxymonosulfate(PMS) process limits its efficiency and application.Herein,L-cysteine(Cys),a green natural organic ligand with reducing capability,was innovatively introduced into Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS to construct an excellent Cys/Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS process.The Cys/Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS process,at room temperature,can degrade a variety of organic contaminants,including dyes,phenolic compounds,and pharmaceuticals.In subsequent experiments with acid orange 7(A07),the AO7 degradation efficiency followed pseudo-first-order kinetic which exhibited an initial 'fast stage' and a second 'slow stage'.The rate constant values ranged depending on the initial Cys,Fe(Ⅲ),PMS,and AO7 concentrations,reaction temperature,and pH values.In addition,the presence of Cl^(-),NO_(3)^(-),and SO_(4)^(2-) had negligible impact while HCO_(3)^(-) and humic acid inhibited the degradation of AO7.Furthermore,radical scavenger experiments and methyl phenyl sulfoxide(PMSO) transformation assay indicated that sulfate radical,hydroxyl radical,and ferryl ion(Fe(Ⅳ)) were the dominant reactive species involved in the Cys/Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS process.Finally,based on the results of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry,several AO7 degradation pathways,including N=N cleavage,hydroxylation,and ring opening were proposed.This study provided a new insight to improve the efficiency of Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS process by accelerating Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)cycle with Cys.Chengdu Qi Yanni Wen Yijie Zhao Yinhao Dai Yanping Li Chenmin Xu Shaogui Yang Huan He 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,4:1
12Interactive effect of hot air roasting processes on the sensory property,allergenicity,and oil extraction of sesame(Sesamum indicum L.)seeds显示文摘Sesame seeds are a healthy food ingredient and an oil crop for sesame oil production;however,it has recently been recognized as an essential allergenic food by FAO/WHO.This research investigated the relationship between the hot air roasting process(at 120,150,and 180℃ for 10,20,and 30 min)and several quality attributes of sesame seeds since roasting is the key process for preparing sesame seeds for both consumption and oil production.The hot air process followed the central composite design.The changes of sesame in terms of color,sensory properties(odor,texture,color,and taste),allergenicity caused by oleosins(ses i 4 and ses i 5),as well as oil extraction and quality were monitored using a colorimeter,sensory evaluation panelists,ELISA,as well as oil yield and acid value,respectively.Roasting temperature influenced the product quality more than roasting time,although the two processing parameters significantly interacted with each other(P<0.001).Sensory evaluation indicated medium roasting generated attractive flavor,order,appearance,and crispy texture.Allergenicity was high in sesame seeds after high-temperature roasting,according to IgE binding capacity test.Sesame oil extraction was favored by high-temperature roasting,which,however,adversely affected the oil quality.The optimal roasting conditions were 150.5℃ for 15 min for optimized sesame seeds quality in terms of sensory properties and allergenicity,while roasting at 158℃ for 10 min was optimal for sesame oil production.The finding will benefit the sesame seed industry.Shudong He Tiange Pan Zuoyong Zhang Yanni Wu Hanju Sun Youshui Ma Yi Zhang 2023Grain & Oil Science and Technology2023,6,2:0
13Predicting the pathological status of mammographic microcalcifications through a radiomics approach显示文摘Objective The study aimed to develop a machine learning(ML)-coupled interpretable radiomics signature to predict the pathological status of non-palpable suspicious breast microcalcifications(MCs).Methods We enrolled 463 digital mammographical view images from 260 consecutive patients detected with non-palpable MCs and BI-RADS scored at 4(training cohort,n=428;independent testing cohort,n=35)in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University between September 2010 and January 2019.Subsequently,837 textures and 9 shape features were subsequently extracted from each view and finally selected by an XGBoostembedded recursive feature elimination technique(RFE),followed by four machine learning-based classifiers to build the radiomics signature.Results Ten radiomic features constituted a malignancy-related signature for breast MCs as logistic regression(LR)and support vector machine(SVM)yielded better positive predictive value(PPV)/sensitivity(SE),0.904(95%CI,0.865–0.949)/0.946(95%CI,0.929–0.977)and 0.891(95%CI,0.822–0.939)/0.939(95%CI,0.907–0.973)respectively,outperforming their negative predictive value(NPV)/specificity(SP)from 10-fold crossvalidation(10FCV)of the training cohort.The optimal prognostic model was obtained by SVM with an area under the curve(AUC)of 0.906(95%CI,0.834–0.969)and accuracy(ACC)0.787(95%CI,0.680–0.855)from 10FCV against AUC 0.810(95%CI,0.760–0.960)and ACC 0.800 from the testing cohort.Conclusion The proposed radiomics signature dependens on a set of ML-based advanced computational algorithms and is expected to identify pathologically cancerous cases from mammographically undecipherable MCs and thus offer prospective clinical diagnostic guidance.Min Li Liyu Zhu Guangquan Zhou Jianan He Yanni Jiang Yang Chen 2021Intelligent Medicine2021,1,3:0

16Study on screening potential allergenic proteins from infant milk powders based on human mast cell membrane chromatography and histamine release assays显示文摘Cow's milk allergy is mainly observed in infants and young children. Most allergic reactions affect the skin, followed by the gastrointestinal and respiratory systems. Conventional diagnosis is based on positive allergy studies and evaluation of parameters including IgE and IgG1 levels, acute allergic skin response and anaphylactic shock reactions. We developed a cell membrane chromatographic(CMC)method based on human mast cells(HMC-1) for screening potential allergens in infant formula milk powders(IFMP). HMC-1 cell membranes were extracted and mixed with silica to prepare cell membrane chromatography columns(10 mm ? 2 mm i.d., 5 mm). Under the conditions of 0.2 mL/min flow rate and214 nm detection wavelength, human breast milk showed no retention. However, IFMP showed clear retention. The retained fractions were collected and analyzed through matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF-MS). Four major milk proteins, i.e., α-casein, β-casein, α-lactalbumin, and β-lactoglobulin A, were identified. Furthermore, these proteins and β-lactoglobulin B showed clear retention on HMC-1/CMC columns. To test the degranulation effects of the five proteins, histamine and β-hexosaminidase release assays were carried out. All five proteins induced HMC-1 cells to release histamine and β-hexosaminidase. Also, we established a reversed phase liquid chromatographic(RPLC) method for the determination of the five proteins in IFMP and the results showed that 90% proteins in IFMP were α-casein and β-casein. We concluded that cow's milk proteins may be potential allergens and caseins cause more β-casein allergic risk than other proteins. 17Booming or sinking: How does an emission trading scheme affect enterprise value?显示文摘Unlike prior research that shows climate policy improves enterprise value,this study reveals the negative im‐pact of emission trading schemes(ETSs)on enterprise value under China’s unique institutional backdrop and identifies the mechanism through which this impact occurs.Data from a sample of 1267 listed companies in the Chinese stock market from 2005 to 2018 models are analyzed using difference-in-differences(DID)and propensity score matching methods(PSM).The results suggest that ETSs have an average short-term negative impact on enterprise value,which peaks in the second year of the ETS and diminishes from the fourth year.Further analysis reveals that ETSs did not cause significant operating losses for firms but reduced their value through the market response mechanism.ETS enterprises experienced significant declines in their annual stock transaction amounts and in returns on individual shares.This indicates that investors expect ETSs to ad‐versely affect pilot enterprises and accordingly adopt disinvestment strategies.Despite the short-term negative effect,ETSs effectively encourage enterprises to innovate green technologies to mitigate long-term carbon risk.Yanni He Yigang Wei Yiming Fang Yueyang Cao 2022Chinese Journal of Population,Resources and Environment2022,20,3:0
18The complete and fully-phased diploid genome of a male Han Chinese显示文摘Since the release of the complete human genome,the priority of human genomic study has now been shifting towards closing gaps in ethnic diversity.Here,we present a fully phased and well-annotated diploid human genome from a Han Chinese male individual(CN1),in which the assemblies of both haploids achieve the telomere-to-telomere(T2T)level.Comparison of this diploid genome with the CHM13 haploid T2T genome revealed significant variations in the centromere.Outside the centromere,we discovered 11,413 structural variations,including numerous novel ones.We also detected thousands of CN1 alleles that have accumulated high substitution rates and a few that have been under positive selection in the East Asian population.Further,we found that CN1 outperforms CHM13 as a reference genome in mapping and variant calling for the East Asian population owing to the distinct structural variants of the two references.Comparison of SNP calling for a large cohort of 8869 Chinese genomes using CN1 and CHM13 as reference respectively showed that the reference bias profoundly impacts rare SNP calling,with nearly 2 million rare SNPs miss-called with different reference genomes.Finally,applying the CN1 as a reference,we discovered 5.80 Mb and 4.21 Mb putative introgression sequences from Neanderthal and Denisovan,respectively,including many East Asian specific ones undetected using CHM13 as the reference.Our analyses reveal the advances of using CN1 as a reference for population genomic studies and paleo-genomic studies.This complete genome will serve as an alternative reference for future genomic studies on the East Asian population.Chentao Yang Yang Zhou Yanni Song Dongya Wu Yan Zeng Lei Nie Panhong Liu Shilong Zhang Guangji Chen Jinjin Xu Hongling Zhou Long Zhou Xiaobo Qian Chenlu Liu Shangjin Tan Chengran Zhou Wei Dai Mengyang Xu Yanwei Qi Xiaobo Wang Lidong Guo Guangyi Fan Aijun Wang Yuan Deng Yong Zhang Jiazheng Jin Yunqiu He Chunxue Guo Guoji Guo Qing Zhou Xun Xu Huanming Yang Jian Wang Shuhua Xu Yafei Mao Xin Jin Jue Ruan Guojie Zhang 2023Cell Research2023,33,10:0
