1Controlling factors on the submarine canyon system: A case study of the Central Canyon System in the Qiongdongnan Basin, northern South China Sea显示文摘Based on an integrated analysis of high-resolution 2D/3D seismic data and drilling results, this study analyzes the tectonicsedimentary evolution of the Qiongdongnan Basin(QDNB) since the late Miocene, and discusses the controlling factors on the formation and development of the Central Canyon System(CCS). The sediment failures caused by the relative sea level falling might have discharged deposits from the slope to the canyon. The two suits of the infillings, i.e., turbidites and mass transport complex(MTC), were derived from the northwestern source and northern source, respectively. The sediment supplies, which differ significantly among different areas, might have led to the variations observed in the internal architectures. Tectonic transformation around 11.6 Ma had provided the tectonic setting for the CCS and formed an axial sub-basin in the central part of the Changchang Depression, which could be called the rudiment of the CCS. The tectonic activity of the Red River Fault(RRF) at about 5.7 Ma might have strengthened the hydrodynamics of the deposits at the junction of the Yinggehai Basin(YGHB) and the QDNB to trigger a high-energy turbidity current. The MTC from the northern continental slope system might have been constrained by the Southern Uplift, functioning as a barrier for the infillings of the CCS. Thanks to a sufficient sediment supply during the Holocene period and the paleo-seafloor morphology, the relief of modern central canyon with the starving landform in the eastern Changchang Depression might have been accentuated by deposition of sediments and vertical growth along the canyon flanks, where collapse deposits were widely developed. Corresponding to the segmentation of the CCS, the forming mechanisms of the canyon between the three segments would be different. The turbidite channel in the head area had likely been triggered by the abundant sediment supply from the northwestern source together with the fault activity at about 5.7 Ma of the RRF. The formation and evolution of the canyon in the western segment were caused by combined effects of the turbidite channel from the northwestern source, the MTC from the northern continental slope, and the paleo-seafloor geomorphology. 3Structure and kinematic analysis of the deepwater area of the Qiongdongnan Basin through a seismic interpretation and analogue modeling experiments显示文摘Located at the northwest continental slope of the South China Sea, the Qiongdongnan Basin bears valley-shaped bathymetry deepening toward east. It is separated from the Yinggehai Basin through NW-trending Indo-ChinaRed River shear zone, and connected with NW subsea basin through the Xisha Trough. Along with the rapid progress of the deepwater exploration, large amounts of high resolution geophysical and geological data were accumulated. Scientific researches about deepwater basins kept revealing brand new tectonic and sedimentary discoveries. In order to summarize the structural features and main controlling factors of the deepwater Qiongdongnan Basin, a series of researches on basin architecture, fault activities, tectonic deformation and evolution were carried out. In reference to analogue modeling experiments, a tectonic situation and a basin formation mechanism were discussed. The researches indicate that: the northern boundary of the Qiongdongnan Basin is strongly controlled by No. 2 fault. The overlapping control of two stress fields from the east and the west made the central depression zone extremely thinned. Combined with the changed stress field, the segmentation of a preexisting weakness zone made the sags in the east experiencing different rifting histories from the west ones. The NE-trending west segment of the Qiongdongnan Basin experienced strong rifting during Eocene, while the roughly EW-trending sags in the east segment show strong rifting during late Eocene and early Oligocene.Local structures such as NW-trending basal fault and inherited uplifts controlled the lateral segmentation. 4Evolution of deepwater sedimentary environments and its implication for hydrocarbon exploration in Qiongdongnan Basin, northwestern South China Sea显示文摘Over the past several years, a number of hydrocarbon reservoirs have been discovered in the deepwater area of Qiongdongnan Basin, northwestern South China Sea. These oil/gas fields demonstrate that the evolution of the deepwater sedimentary environment are controlling the formation and distribution of large-scale clastic reservoirs. Integration between seismic and borehole data were necessary to best clarify the distribution and quality of these deepwater reservoirs. Geochemical and paleobiological evidence from discrete samples was also applied to document specific information regarding the sedimentary environment. Results show that the Qiongdongnan Basin has existed as a thriving marine environment since Oligocene, when several rifting depressions developed throughout the entire Qiongdongnan Basin. Triggered by the faults activities, several distinct provenances supplied the coarse sediments, transporting and depositing them in deep parts of the rifting depressions. A fan delta system then formed nearby the source in the deeper area of these rifting depressions. The sedimentary environment of Qiongdongnan gradiationally became deepwater since early Miocene.Consequently, abundances of sediments were transported from Hainan Island and Southern Uplift, and then sunk into the basin center. The submarine fans revealed by many boreholes in this area verified them as good reservoir. Because the area reached its lowest sea level at late Miocene and the Southern Uplift subsidenced under sea level, not providing any sediment, so that the carbonate mesa and biorhythms characteristic of this area also developed during this period. In the west part of Qiongdongnan Basin, sediments transported from Vietnam increased in response to the Tibetan Uplift. Consequently, a central canyon developed along the center of Qiongdongnan Basin, which has been confirmed by several boreholes as a favorable hydrocarbon reservoir. 5Vertical migration through faults and hydrocarbon accumulation patterns in deepwater areas of the Qiongdongnan Basin显示文摘In the Qiongdongnan Basin, faults are well developed. Based on the drilling results, the traps controlled two or more faults are oil-rich. However, when only one fault cut through the sand body, there is no sign for hydrocarbon accumulation in the sandstone. In terms of this phenomenon, the principle of reservoir-forming controlled by fault terrace is proposed, i.e., when the single fault activates, because of the incompressibility of pore water, the resistance of pore and the direction of buoyancy, it is impossible for hydrocarbon to accumulate in sandstone. But when there are two or more faults, one of the faults acts as the spillway so the hydrocarbon could fill in the pore of sandstone through other faults. In total five gas bearing structures and four failure traps are considered, as examples to demonstrate our findings. 12Science with the 2.5-meter Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST)显示文摘The Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST) is a dedicated photometric surveying facility being built jointly by University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) and the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO). It is equipped with a 2.5-meter diameter primary mirror, an active optics system, and a mosaic CCD camera with 0.73 gigapixels on the primary focal plane for highquality image capture over a 6.5-square-degree field of view. The installation of WFST near the summit of Saishiteng mountain in the Lenghu region is scheduled in summer of 2023, and the operation is planned to start three months later. WFST will scan the northern sky in four optical bands(u, g, r and i) at cadences from hourly/daily in the deep high-cadence survey(DHS) program, to semi-weekly in the wide field survey(WFS) program. During a photometric night, a nominal 30 s exposure in the WFS program will reach a depth of 22.27, 23.32, 22.84, and 22.31(AB magnitudes) in these four bands, respectively, allowing for the detection of a tremendous amount of transients in the low-z universe and a systematic investigation of the variability of Galactic and extragalactic objects. In the DHS program, intranight 90 s exposures as deep as 23(u) and 24 mag(g), in combination with target of opportunity follow-ups, will provide a unique opportunity to explore energetic transients in demand for high sensitivities, including the electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave events, supernovae within a few hours of their explosions,tidal disruption events and fast, luminous optical transients even beyond redshift of unity. In addition, the final 6-year co-added images, anticipated to reach g■25.8 mag in WFS or 1.5 mags deeper in DHS, will be of fundamental importance to general Galactic and extragalactic science. The highly uniform legacy surveys of WFST will serve as an indispensable complement to those of the Vera C. 14Pulmonary endothelium-targeted nanoassembly of indomethacin and superoxide dismutase relieves lung inflammation显示文摘Lung inflammation is an essential inducer of various diseases and is closely related to pulmonary-endothelium dysfunction.Herein,we propose a pulmonary endothelium-targeted codelivery system of anti-inflammatory indomethacin(IND)and antioxidant superoxide dismutase(SOD)by assembling the biopharmaceutical SOD onto the“vector”of rod-like pure IND crystals,followed by coating with anti-ICAM-1 antibody(Ab)for targeting endothelial cells.The codelivery system has a 237 nm diameter in length and extremely high drug loading of 39%IND and 2.3%SOD.Pharmacokinetics and biodistribution studies demonstrate the extended blood circulation and the strong pulmonary accumulation of the system after intravenous injection in the lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammatory murine model.Particularly,the system allows a robust capacity to target pulmonary endothelium mostly due to the rod-shape and Ab coating effect.In vitro,the preparation shows the synergistic antiinflammatory and antioxidant effects in LPS-activated endothelial cells.In vivo,the preparation exhibits superior pharmacodynamic efficacy revealed by significantly downregulating the inflammatory/oxidative stress markers,such as TNF-a,IL-6,COX-2,and reactive oxygen species(ROS),in the lungs.In conclusion,the codelivery system based on rod-like pure crystals could well target the pulmonary endothelium and effectively alleviate lung inflammation.The study offers a promising approach to combat pulmonary endothelium-associated diseases.Yi Yang Makhloufi Zoulikha Qingqing Xiao Feifei Huang Qi Jiang Xiaotong Li Zhenfeng Wu Wei He 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,11:0

16Research on system combination of machine translation based on Transformer显示文摘Influenced by its training corpus,the performance of different machine translation systems varies greatly.Aiming at achieving higher quality translations,system combination methods combine the translation results of multiple systems through statistical combination or neural network combination.This paper proposes a new multi-system translation combination method based on the Transformer architecture,which uses a multi-encoder to encode source sentences and the translation results of each system in order to realize encoder combination and decoder combination.The experimental verification on the Chinese-English translation task shows that this method has 1.2-2.35 more bilingual evaluation understudy(BLEU)points compared with the best single system results,0.71-3.12 more BLEU points compared with the statistical combination method,and 0.14-0.62 more BLEU points compared with the state-of-the-art neural network combination method.The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system combination method based on Transformer.刘文斌 HE Yanqing LAN Tian WU Zhenfeng 2023High Technology Letters2023,29,3:0

20A chromosome-level genome assembly for Erianthus fulvus provides insights into its biofuel potential and facilitates breeding for improvement of sugarcane显示文摘Erianthus produces substantial biomass,exhibits a good Brix value,and shows wide environmental adaptability,making it a potential biofuel plant.In contrast to closely related sorghum and sugarcane,Erianthus can grow in degraded soils,thus releasing pressure on agricultural lands used for biofuel production.However,the lack of genomic resources for Erianthus hinders its genetic improvement,thus limiting its potential for biofuel production.In the present study,we generated a chromosome-scale reference genome for Erianthus fulvus Nees.The genome size estimated by flow cytometry was 937 Mb,and the assembled genome size was 902 Mb,covering 96.26%of the estimated genome size.A total of 35065 proteincoding genes were predicted,and 67.89%of the genome was found to be repetitive.A recent wholegenome duplication occurred approximately 74.10 million years ago in the E.fulvus genome.Phylogenetic analysis showed that E.fulvus is evolutionarily closer to S.spontaneum and diverged after S.bicolor.Three of the 10 chromosomes of E.fulvus formed through rearrangements of ancestral chromosomes.Phylogenetic reconstruction of the Saccharum complex revealed a polyphyletic origin of the complex and a sister relationship of E.fulvus with Saccharum sp.,excluding S.arundinaceum.On the basis of the four amino acid residues that provide substrate specificity,the E.fulvus SWEET proteins were classified as monoand disaccharide sugar transporters.Ortho-QTL genes identified for 10 biofuel-related traits may aid in the rapid screening of E.fulvus populations to enhance breeding programs for improved biofuel production.The results of this study provide valuable insights for breeding programs aimed at improving biofuel production in E.fulvus and enhancing sugarcane introgression programs.Ling Kui Aasim Majeed Xianhong Wang Zijiang Yang Jian Chen Lilian He Yining Di Xuzhen Li Zhenfeng Qian Yinming Jiao Guoyun Wang Lufeng Liu Rong Xu Shujie Gu Qinghui Yang Shuying Chen Hongbo Lou Yu Meng Linyan Xie Fu Xu Qingqing Shen Amit Singh Karl Gruber Yunbing Pan Tingting Hao Yang Dong Fusheng Li 2023Plant Communications2023,4,4:0
