3Relationship between structure and function of JWA in the modulation of cell differentiation显示文摘To elucidate the structure characteristic, regulation of expression and the potential function of JWA——anovel rctinoic acid responsible and cytoskeleton associate gene, a rat JWA homologue gene and a 621-bp JWA promoter fragment were cloned and analyzed. Using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), JWA mRNA expression in NIH3T3, K562 and human primary acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APL) cells have been investigated after treatment with all trans retinoic acid (ATRA), N-4-hydroxyphenyl-retinamide (4HPR), arsenic trioxide (As2O3), Phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate (TPA) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). The results showed that there is a complete TPA responsive element (TRE) existed in the promoter of JWA at -437 to -443 bp; rat JWA homologue gene showed that there are four nucleotides different from human JWA within coding region. 4Role of JWA in acute promye-locytic leukemia cell differentiation and apoptosis triggered by retinoic acid,12-tetradecanoylphorbol-13- acetate and arsenic trioxide显示文摘JWA, a cytoskeleton associated gene, was primarily found to be regulated by all trans-retinoic acid (ATRA), 13 cis-retinoic acid (13 cis-RA) and 12-tetradecano-ylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA). Our previous data showed that JWA might be involved in both cellular differentiation and apoptosis induced by several chemicals. In this study, we addressed the possible mechanism of JWA in the regulation of cell differentiation and apoptosis in NB4, a human acute promyelocytic leukemia cell line. CD11b/CD33 expression and cell cycle were analyzed for detecting of cell differentiation and apoptosis. Both reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot assays were used for understanding the expressions of JWA. 7Risk of gestational diabetes recurrence and the development of type 2 diabetes among women with a history of gestational diabetes and risk factors: a study among 18 clinical centers in China显示文摘Background:Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)brings health issues for both mothers and offspring,and GDM prevention is as important as GDM management.It was shown that a history of GDM was significantly associated with a higher maternal risk for GDM recurrence.The incidence of GDM recurrence was unclear because of the incidence of second-child was low before 2016 in China.We aim to investigate the prevalence of GDM recurrence and its associated high-risk factors which may be useful for the prediction of GDM recurrence in China.Methods:A retrospective study was conducted which enrolled participants who underwent regular prenatal examination and delivered twice in the same hospital of 18 research centers.All participants were enrolled from January 2018 to October 2018,where they delivered the second baby during this period.A total of 6204 women were enrolled in this study,and 1002 women with a history of GDM were analyzed further.All participants enrolled in the study had an oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)result at 24 to 28 weeks and were diagnosed as GDM in the first pregnancy according to the OGTT value(when any one of the following values is met or exceeded to the 75-g OGTT:0 h[fasting],≥5.10 mmol/L;1 h,≥10.00 mmol/L;and 2 h,≥8.50 mmol/L).The prevalence of GDM recurrence and development of type 2 diabetes mellitus were calculated,and its related risk factors were analyzed.Results:In 6204 participants,there are 1002 women(1002/6204,16.15%)with a history of GDM and 5202 women(5202/6204,83.85%)without a history of GDM.There are significant differences in age(32.43±4.03 years vs.33.00±3.34 years vs.32.19±3.37 years,P<0.001),pregnancy interval(4.06±1.44 years vs.3.52±1.43 years vs.3.38±1.35 years,P=0.004),prepregnancy body mass index(BMI)(27.40±4.62 kg/m^(2)vs.23.50±3.52 kg/m^(2)vs.22.55±3.47 kg/m^(2),P<0.001),history of delivered macrosomia(22.7%vs.11.0%vs.6.2%,P<0.001)among the development of diabetes mellitus(DM),recurrence of GDM,and normal women.Moreover,it seems so important in the degree of abnormal glucose metabolism in the first pregnancy to the recurrence of GDM and the development of DM.There are significant differences in OGTT levels of the first pregnancy such as area under the curve of OGTT value(18.31±1.90 mmol/L vs.16.27±1.93 mmol/L vs.15.55±1.92 mmol/L,P<0.001),OGTT fasting value(5.43±0.48 mmol/L vs.5.16±0.49 mmol/L vs.5.02±0.47 mmol/L,P<0.001),OGTT 1-hour value(10.93±1.34 mmol/L vs.9.69±1.53 mmol/L vs.9.15±1.58 mmol/L,P<0.001),OGTT 2-hour value(9.30±1.66 mmol/L vs.8.01±1.32 mmol/L vs.7.79±1.38 mmol/L,P<0.001),incidence of impaired fasting glucose(IFG)(fasting plasma glucose≥5.6 mmol/L)(31.3%vs.14.6%vs.8.8%,P<0.001),and incidence of two or more abnormal OGTT values(68.8%vs.39.7%vs.23.9%,P<0.001)among the three groups.Using multivariate analysis,the factors,such as age(1.07[1.02-1.12],P=0.006),prepregnancy BMI(1.07[1.02,1.12],P=0.003),and area under the curve of OGTT in the first pregnancy(1.14[1.02,1.26],P=0.02),have an effect on maternal GDM recurrence;the factors,such as age(1.28[1.01-1.61],P=0.04),pre-pregnancy BMI(1.26[1.04,1.53],P=0.02),and area under the curve of OGTT in the first pregnancy(1.65[1.04,2.62],P=0.03),have an effect on maternal DM developed further.Conclusions:The history of GDM was significantly associated with a higher maternal risk for GDM recurrence during follow-up after the first pregnancy.The associated risk factors for GDM recurrence or development of DM include age,high pre-pregnancy BMI,history of delivered macrosomia,the OGTT level in the first pregnancy,such as the high area under the curve of OGTT,IFG,and two or more abnormal OGTT values.To prevent GDM recurrence,women with a history of GDM should do the preconception counseling before preparing next pregnancy.Yumei Wei Juan Juan Rina Su Geng Song Xu Chen Ruiqin Shan Ying Li Shihong Cui Shangrong Fan Ling Feng Zishan You Haixia Meng Yan Cai Cuilin Zhang Huixia Yang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,6:7
8Rare-earth element geochemistry reveals the provenance of sediments on the southwestern margin of the Challenger Deep显示文摘The hadal zone represents one of the last great frontiers in modern marine science,and deciphering the provenance of sediment that is supplied to these trench settings remains a largely unanswered question.Here,we examine the mineralogical and geochemical composition of a sediment core(core CD-1)that was recovered from the southwestern margin of the Challenger Deep within the Mariana Trench.Major element abundances and rare-earth element patterns from these sediments require inputs from both terrigenous dust and locally sourced volcanic debris.We exploit a two-endmember mixing model to demonstrate that locally sourced volcanic material dominates the sediment supply to the Challenger Deep(averaging^72%).The remainder,however,is supplied by aeolian dust(averaging^28%),which is consistent with adjacent studies that utilized Sr-Nd isotopic data.Building on a growing database,we strengthen our understanding of Asian aeolian dust input into the northwestern Pacific,which ultimately improves our appreciation of sedimentation in,and around,the hadal zone.JIANG Zuzhou SUN Zhilei LIU Zhaoqing CAO Hong GENG Wei XU Haixia WANG Lisheng WANG Libo 2019Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2019,37,3:5
9Dominance rank of adult females and mating competition in Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys(Rhinopithecus roxellana)in the Qinling Mountains,China显示文摘Dominance hierarchy reflects resource competition in male primates as well as females.In this study,we collected data on the social rank and mating competition of female Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys from September 2009 to June 2010 in the Qinling Mountains,Shaanxi,China.Displacement was used to determine social hierarchy of the studied wild females.A total of 1223 displacement bouts between adult females and 316 mating behaviors within one-male units(OMUs) were recorded.Competitive displacement among females was very low(0.22 displacements per observation hour).The dominant ranks of females in target OMUs were determined by displacement,from one OMU to another:JB unit:YL > DBC > YCM >XBC > BD;JZT unit:XHW > JG > DT;PK unit:QQ > TM > HF;LP unit:SK > TH > WM.Higher-ranking females performed significantly more sexual behavior than lower-ranking females in this rare monkey.High-ranking females were more likely to win mating contests within those OMUs.Based on these studies,we assessed the social relationships among adult females and clarified possible explanations for the strategies of female mating competition in the OMUs.Furthermore,the notion that reproductive success may also be related to female dominance hierarchies in this polygynous species should be considered in future research.HE HaiXia ZHAO HaiTao QI XiaoGuang WANG XiaoWei GUO SongTao JI WeiHong WANG ChengLiang WEI Wei LI BaoGuo 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,17:5
10Reduced β2-GPI is associated with increased platelet aggregation and activation in patients with prolonged isolated thrombocytopenia after allo-HSCT显示文摘We aimed to measure platelet function and its relationship with β2-GPI in prolonged isolated thrombocytopenia(PT) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(allo-HSCT).Fifty-six patients with PT and 60 allo-HSCT recipients without PT(non-PT controls) were enrolled.Platelet aggregation and activation,β2-GPI and anti-β2-GPI antibody levels,vWF antigen,and vWF activity were analyzed.The effect of β2-GPI on platelet aggregation was also measured ex vivo.Results showed that ADP-induced platelet aggregation significantly increased(39%±7.5% vs.23%±8.5%,P=0.032),and the platelet expression of both CD62 p(33.6%±11.6% vs.8.5%±3.5%,P<0.001) and PAC-1(42.4%±7.6% vs.6.8%±2.2%,P<0.001) was significantly higher in patients with PT than in those without PT.Significantly lower β2-GPI levels(164.2±12 μg m L^-1 vs.234.2±16 μg mL^-1,P<0.001),higher anti-β2-GPI IgG levels(1.78±0.46 U mL^-1 vs.0.94±0.39 U mL^-1,P<0.001),and increased vWF activity(133.06%±30.50% vs.102.17%±25.90%,P<0.001) were observed in patients with PT than in those without PT.Both ADPinduced platelet aggregation(n=116,r^2=-0.5042,P<0.001) and vWF activity(n=116,r^2=-0.2872,P<0.001) were negatively correlated with β2-GPI levels.In summary,our data suggested that platelet aggregation and activation were significantly higher in patients with PT than in those without PT,which might be associated with reduced β2-GPI levels.The reduced β2-GPI levels might be due to the existence of anti-β2-GPI IgG.Haixia Fu Jingzhong Zhao Lanping Xu Kaiyan Liu Yu Wang Huan Chen Wei Han Jingzhi Wang Fengrong Wang Xiaojun Huang Xiaohui Zhang 2019Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,7:4
11Photocatalytic degradation of 4-tert-octylphenol in a spiral photoreactor system显示文摘A spiral photoreactor system(SPS) was developed for the degradation of 4-tert-octylphenol(4-t-OP) in aqueous phase.4-t-OP was previously considered as a endocrine disrupting compound frequently present in water.The direct photodegradation reaction caused by the SPS was found to accord with the characteristic of apparent first-order reaction with reaction rate constant k = 4.8 × 10-2 min-1.However,the direct photodegradation reaction could not make the 4-t-OP mineralized.The photodegradation efficiency increased from 88% to 91.2% in 45 min irradiation period after the internal surface of SPS was sintered with TiO2 thin film as catalyst.Catalyst concentration,number of catalyst coating layers and initial concentration of 4-t-OP were proven to be the factors affecting the photocatalytic degradation performance of the SPS on aqueous 4-t-OP.The degradation mechanism was investigated and the byproducts were analyzed using total organic carbon analyzer(TOC) and LC-MS.The possible chemical structures of the products were suggested.SPS with single layer of TiO2 prepared by sintering 13.6% of TiO2 precursor was proven to be more efficient than most of previous systems for removal of 4-t-OP from aqueous phase.28.3% of the 4-t-OP was mineralized in 45 min according to the decreased amount of TOC value.Yanlin Wu Haixia Yuan Xiaoxuan Jiang Guanran Wei Chunlei Li Wenbo Dong 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9:3

17Impacts of Land-Use Data on the Simulation of Surface Air Temperature in Northwest China显示文摘This study examines the impacts of land-use data on the simulation of surface air temperature in Northwest China by the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) model. International Geosphere–Biosphere Program(IGBP) landuse data with 500-m spatial resolution are generated from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)satellite products. These data are used to replace the default U.S. Geological Survey(USGS) land-use data in the WRF model. Based on the data recorded by national basic meteorological observing stations in Northwest China, results are compared and evaluated. It is found that replacing the default USGS land-use data in the WRF model with the IGBP data improves the ability of the model to simulate surface air temperature in Northwest China in July and December 2015. Errors in the simulated daytime surface air temperature are reduced, while the results vary between seasons. There is some variation in the degree and range of impacts of land-use data on surface air temperature among seasons. Using the IGBP data, the simulated daytime surface air temperature in July 2015 improves at a relatively small number of stations, but to a relatively large degree; whereas the simulation of daytime surface air temperature in December 2015 improves at almost all stations, but only to a relatively small degree(within 1°C). Mitigation of daytime surface air temperature overestimation in July 2015 is influenced mainly by the change in ground heat flux. 20Efficient and secure image authentication with robustness and versatility显示文摘Image authentication is the technology of verifying image origin,integrity and authenticity.A rich stream of research on image authentication has shown various trade-off among four favorable features,namely robustness,security,versatility and efficiency.Image data authentication has the highest level of security but provides no robustness/versatility.Image content authentication from robust hashing keeps robust to limited types of operations,and as a result its versatility is not satisfactory.Existing designs of image content authentication from advanced cryptographic primitives achieve robustness,security and versatility,at the cost of low efficiency.In this paper,we present a new design of image authentication with an improved trade-off among the aforementioned features.Our versatile design is robust to a number of predefined image processing operations.Its security can be reduced to q-strong Diffie-Hellman(q-SDH),a complexity problem used by existing cryptographic algorithms.From the aspect of efficiency,the new design has a constant-size authentication overhead(≤2 kB)and a constant verification time(around 0.05 s).While the time of generating authentication overhead increases linearly with the number of permissible editing operations,it only takes around 0.33 s for 1000 types of permissible operations.We believe the new design will facilitate image applications where trustworthy image editing is required.Haixia CHEN Xinyi HUANG Wei WU Yi MU 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,12:2
