| 1 | Effects of Target and Distractor Saturations on the Cognitive Performance of an Integrated Display Interface显示文摘Color coding is often used to enhance decision quality in complex man-machine interfaces of integrated display systems. However, people are easily distracted by irrelevant colors and by the numerous data points and complex structures in the interface. Although an increasing number of studies are seriously focusing on the problem of achieving efficient color coding, few are able to determine the effects of target and distractor saturations on cognitive performance. To study the performances of target colors among distractors, a systematic experiment is conducted to assess the influence of high and low saturated targets on cognitive performance, and the affecting extent of different saturated distractors of homogeneous colors on targets. According to the analysis of the reaction time through the non-parametric statistical method, a calculation method of the cognitive performance of each color is proposed. Based on the calculation of the color differences and the accumulation of the reaction times, it is shown that with the different saturated distractors of homogeneous colors, the high saturated yellow targets perform better than the low saturated ones, and the green and blue targets have moderate performances. When searching for a singleton target placed on a black background, the color difference between the target and the distractor should be more than 20ΔE*ab units in the yellow saturation coding, whereas the color difference should be more than 40ΔE*ab units in the blue and green saturation coding. In addition, as regards saturation coding, the influence of the color difference between the target and the background on cognitive performance is greater than that of the color difference between the target and the distractor. Seemingly, the hue attribute determines whether the saturation difference between the target and the distractor affects the cognitive performance. Based on the experimental results, the simulation design of the instrument dials in a flight situation awareness interface is completed and tested. | 2 | Influence of natural rainfall variability on the evaluation of artificial precipitation enhancement显示文摘Evaluating cloud seeding effects is one of the most critical issues in artificial precipitation enhancement experiments. However, the evaluation is not straightforward because there is natural rainfall variability, which subjects the atmosphere to spatiotemporal instabilities. The aim of this study is to analyze natural rainfall variability using the modern statistical simulation method, 'bootstrap', to analyze its influence on the evaluation of seeding activities and to take proper measures to control the influence. The study is based on the 1997?2007 airborne seeding macro records and the daily precipitation data in Jilin Province. The influence of natural rainfall variability can be reduced through three approaches: the increase of the supposed 'seeded' sample size N, the rejection of outliers, and the selection of similar control units. A larger N leads to smaller calculated precipitation variability and detectable lower limits of seeding effects. When N is near 470 and the seeding effect is between 20% and 30%, the confidence level reaches 90%. For a single seeding operation, the case deletion model that rejects strong influence points and selects similar control units is established to control the influence of natural precipitation variability, which obviously improves the evaluation of artificial precipitation enhancement. The results demonstrate that the relative seeding effect in Jilin Province is concentrated mainly in the range of 0 to 30%, with an average of 11.95%, and has no significant linear relationship with the actual precipitation amount. | 3 | One-pot/three-step synthesis of zinc-blende CdSe/CdS core/shell nanocrystals with thick shells显示文摘A one-pot/three-step synthetic scheme was developed for phase-pure epitaxy of CdS shells on zinc-blende CdSe nanocrystals to yield shells with up to sixteen monolayers. The key parameters for the epitaxy were identified, including the core nanocrystal concentration, solvent type/composition, quality of the core nanocrystals, epitaxial growth temperature, type/concentration of ligands, and composition of the precursors. Most of these key parameters were not influential when the synthetic goal was thin-shell CdSe/CdS core/shell nanocrystals. | 4 | Application of TruScreen in detecting ASCUS patients显示文摘Objective:To explore the application of cervical cancer screening system,TruScreen in detecting atypical squamous cell of undetermined significance(ASCIIS) patients.Methods:A total of 42 cases were selected,who were diagnosed as ASCIIS by thinprep cytologic test(TCT).Area from site 15 to 20,site 21 to 32 were detected by TruScreen.And the result was compared with those of cases which had positive pathological result of cervical biopsy.Results:There were 16 cases with abnormal pathological result in ASCUS cases,including 6 cases with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)Ⅰ,6 cases with CINⅡ,3 cases with CINⅢand 1 case with infiltrating carcinoma. The consistency between TCT and pathological test was 38.10%(16/42).The positive rate of TruScreen at site 15-20 was 61.91%(26/42).There was significant difference in consistency with pathological test between TCT and TruScreen(x^2=4.762,P=0.029).The positive rate of TruScreen at site 21-32 was 66.67%(28/42)(Kappa=0.181,P=0.016).There was significant difference in consistency with pathological test between TCT and TruScreen(x^2=9.4919,P=0.002).And no case was missed when site 21-32 of patients with CINⅡand above were detected by TruScreen. | 5 | Genome-wide identification of droughtresponsive microRNAs in two sets of Malus from interspecific hybrid progenies显示文摘Drought stress can negatively impact apple fruit quality and yield.Apple microRNAs(miRNAs)participate in apple tree and fruit development,as well as in biotic stress tolerance;however,it is largely unknown whether these molecules are involved in the drought response.To identify drought-responsive miRNAs in Malus,we first examined the drought stress tolerance of ten F1 progenies of R3(M.×domestica)×M.sieversii.We performed Illumina sequencing on pooled total RNA from both drought-tolerant and drought-sensitive plants.The sequencing results identified a total of 206 known miRNAs and 253 candidate novel miRNAs from drought-tolerant plants and drought-sensitive plants under control or drought conditions.We identified 67 miRNAs that were differentially expressed in drought-tolerant plants compared with drought-sensitive plants under drought conditions.Under drought stress,61 and 35 miRNAs were differentially expressed in drought-tolerant and drought-sensitive plants,respectively.We determined the expression levels of seven out of eight miRNAs by stem-loop qPCR analysis.We also predicted the target genes of all differentially expressed miRNAs and identified the expression of some genes.Gene Ontology analyses indicated that the target genes were mainly involved in stimulus response and cellular and metabolic processes.Finally,we confirmed roles of two miRNAs in apple response to mannitol.Our results reveal candidate miRNAs and their associated mRNAs that could be targeted for improving drought tolerance in Malus species,thus providing a foundation for understanding the molecular networks involved in the response of apple trees to drought stress. | Chundong Niu Haiyan Li Lijuan Jiang Mingjia Yan Cuiying Li Dali Geng Yinpeng Xie Yan Yan Xiaoxia Shen Pengxiang Chen Jun Dong Fengwang Ma Qingmei Guan | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 2 |

| 10 | Photosynthetic characteristics of cotton are enhaneed by altering the timing of mulch film removal显示文摘Background:The photosynthetic parameters of cotton plants may be modified by the timing of film removal during their growing period.This study was undertaken during 2015-2017 in Xinjiang,China,to determine to what extent the film mulching removal time,1 and 10 days before the first irrigation and 1 day before the second irrigation after seedling emergence,influenced cotton's photosynthetic characteristics.The control group(CK)was film-mulched throughout the growth stages.Results:The results suggested the following:(1)Removing mulching-film within 50 days since seedling emergence had adverse effects on soil temperature and moisture.(2)Film-removal before the first or second irrigation after emergence improved the net photosynthetic rate in cotton's later flowering stage and its transpiration rate in mid and later flowed ng stages while enhancing the actual electron transport rate(ETR)and maximum electron transfer rate(ETRmax)between cotton photosystems I and II.(3)Film-removal treatment also increased cotton plants'toleranee to high irradiation after emergence,the trend was more pronounced in the early flowering stage in wetter years.(4)Leaf area index(LAI)of cotton was reduced in the film-removal treatment for which the least accumulation of dry matter occurred in a drought year(i.e.,2015).(5)Film removal caused a yield decrease in the dry year(2015),and the earlier the film was removed,the more seriously the yield decreased.Removing mulching film before the second irrigation could increase the yield of XLZ42 in the rainy year(2016)and the normal rainfall year(2017).Early film removal can in crease the yield of XLZ45 in the rainy year(2016).Conclusions:Collectively,our stud/s experimental results indicate that applying mulch film removal at an appropriate,targeted time after seedling emerge nee had no adverse effects on soil moisture and temperature,and improved the photosy nthetic performance of cotton,thus in creased cotton yield and fiber quality,but no significant difference was reached. | ZHANG Zhanqin ZHANG Li TIAN Haiyan NIU Yuan YANG Xiangkun | 2021 | Journal of Cotton Research2021,4,3: | 0 |

| 12 | The phased chromosome-scale genome of yellowhorn sheds light on the mechanism of petal color change显示文摘Yellowhorn(Xanthoceras sorbifolium), especially its varieties, is the red petal yellowhorn(X. sorbifolium var. purpurea), an important tree species with great ornamental value, and its flower petals change color throughout the flowering period. In this study, we mainly focused on the mechanism of the petal color change with transcriptomics and metabolomics data. A phased chromosome-scale assembly of the red petal yellowhorn genome was generated using the PacBio high-fidelity reads, Illumina short reads, and Phase genomics Proximo Hi-C data. The final de novo assembly yielded 533.67 Mb with a contig N50 of 5.42 Mb, and 27 501 protein-coding genes were predicted. Notably, an alternate haplotig assembly was also obtained. Furthermore, a variation database for the alleles within the genome was constructed. Subsequently, the expression pattern of flower pigmentation-related genes and allelic expression imbalance events were investigated. Apart from 6 genes involved in the anthocyanin biosynthesis pathway regulated by the activation of 15 MYB-bHLH-WD40s, the increased expression of senescencerelated gene 1(SRG1) and 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase(DIOX5) might also result in decreasing content of lutein and increasing abundance of(E/Z)-phytoene, cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside, and cyanidin-3-O-sambubioside. These changes in genes and metabolites were most likely related to the petal color change in red petal yellowhorn. | 17 | Application of VIGS system to explore the function of common wheat TaADF7显示文摘As an allohexaploid plant,common wheat has a complex gene structure,making it difficult to study its gene function.Virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS)is an important tool for the rapid analysis of plant gene function.In this study,the gene silencing system,namely,barley stripe mosaic virus(BSMV)-VIGS induced by BSMV was used to silence the wheat phytoene desaturase(TaPDS)and actin depolymerization factor(TaADF7)genes and determine the effect of gene silencing on wheat.TaPDS was used as an indicator gene to determine the feasibility of VIGS system,while TaADF7 was used as a test gene to determine its effect on wheat growth.Results showed that the leaves of tobacco and wheat were bleached by the mixture of pCaBS-α,pCaBS-β,and pCaBS-γ::TaPDS,indicating that the TaPDS gene was silenced,and the bleached leaves had physiological activity as determined by trypan blue staining.Therefore,the VIGS system was efficient and available.After the tobacco was treated with pCaBS-α,pCaBS-β,and pCaBS-γ::TaADF7,the viral suspension was obtained.The expression of TaADF7 gene was downregulated after wheat leaves were infected by friction,indicating that the expression of TaADF7 was silenced.Laser confocal scanning microscopy showed that the silencing of TaADF7 enhanced the fluorescence of microfilament skeleton in mesophyll protoplasts and significantly reduced the plant height.Results showed that TaADF7 affected cell division and plant growth by inhibiting microfilament depolymerization.In conclusion,the BSMV-VIGS system was used to silence wheat TaPDS and TaADF7 genes.Bleaching phenomenon was observed in wheat leaves after TaPDS silencing.After TaADF7 silencing,microfilaments in wheat mesophyll cells gathered into coarse bundles,which affected the dynamics of microfilaments and inhibited plant growth. | HUIZE CHEN XINGTIAN JIA HAIYAN RAN JINGRONG NIU MEITING DU | 2022 | BIOCELL2022,46,2: | 0 |
| 18 | Time-shift effect of spontaneous combustion characteristics and microstructure difference of dry-soaked coal显示文摘The physical and chemical properties of the air-dried residual coal after soaking in the goaf will change,resulting in an increase in its spontaneous combustion tendency.This study aimed to look into the features and mechanism of soaked-dried coal's spontaneous combustion.Five samples of coal were dried to various degrees,and the weight loss features during thermal processing were examined.Based on this,the pore structure and chemical structure characteristics of the coal samples with the highest tendency to spontaneous combustion were quantitatively examined,and the mechanism by which soaking-drying afected the spontaneous combustion heating process of the remaining coal in goaf was investigated in turn.The results show that T1 decreases with the increase of drying time,T2–T6 shows a fuctuating change,and the ignition activation energy of 36-S-Coal is smaller than that of other coal samples.The pore type of 36-S-Coal changes from a oneend closed impermeable pore to an open pore,and the pore group area is large.During the 36 h drying process,the internal channels of the coal were dredged,and a large number of gravels and minerals were precipitated from the pores with the air fow.A large number of gravels were around the pores to form a surface structure that was easy to adsorb various gases.Furthermore,infrared spectroscopy was used to analyze the two coal samples.It was found that soaking and drying did not change the functional group types of coal samples,but the fatty chain degree of 36-S-Coal was reduced to 1.56.It shows that the aliphatic chain structure of coal is changed after 36 h of drying after 30 days of soaking,which leads to the continuous shedding of aliphatic chain branches of residual coal,and the skeleton of coal is looser,which makes the low-temperature oxidation reaction of 36-S-Coal easier.Based on the above results,the coal-oxygen composite mechanism of water-immerseddried coal is obtained,and it is considered that the key to the spontaneous combustion oxidation process of coal is to provide oxygen atoms and accelerate the formation of peroxides. | Yikang Liu Haiyan Wang Huiyong Niu Tao Wang Zhiwen Chen Yuqi Chen Qingjie Qi | 2023 | International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2023,10,4: | 0 |
| 19 | An innovative method to evaluate the severe level of general Qi deficiency显示文摘OBJECTIVE:The study aim was to use existing relevant indexes to establish an index series for the quantitative measurement of Qi deficiency pattern(QDP) in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).METHODS:Seventeen indexes of arterial oxygen saturation(SaO_2),TCM pulse diagnosis,heart rate,and blood pressure were integrated into an index series,and 94 selected subjects were divided into a healthy control group,a mild QDP group,and a typical QDP group.All three groups were then synchronously given a breath-holding(BH) test and index detections using TCM apparatus for auxiliary diagnosis and treatment and a photoplethysmograph.The detections were carried out repeatedly until there was no monotonic change in the value of the minimal SaO_(2d)uring a BH measurement(SaO_(2 min)) or in the duration of BH during a BH measurement(TBH).RESULTS:BH measurement and index detection data from 380 eligible cases were analyzed and a significant intergroup difference was found for 12 indexes.CONCLUSION:An index series for quantitative QDP measurement could comprise the 12 effective indexes:RSaO_(2d)(rate of decline of SaO_(2d)uring a BH measurement),RSaO_(2r)(recovery rate of SaO_2 after a BH measurement),SaO_(2 min),BFV(blood flow velocity),TSaO_(2d)(the time at which SaO_2 started declining during a BH measurement),TBH,TSa_(O2 min)(the time of occurrence of the minimal SaO_(2d)uring a BH measurement),TSa O_(2 max)(the time of occurrence of the maximal SaO_2 after a BH measurement),PTP(pulse-touching pressure),SBP(systolic blood pressure),PWV(pulse wave velocity),and DBP(diastolic blood pressure).Of the indexes,RSaO_(2d)could play akey role in quantitative QDP measurement;RSaO_(2r) and Sa O_2 mincould be used to differentiate the QDP symptom of shortness of breath and as early-warning indexes for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.BFV,TSaO_(2d),and TBHcould be used to quantitatively assess the QDP symptoms of spontaneous perspiration and shortness of breath. | Lu Yu Niu Tingli Chen Tianyu Gao Lujiao Ma Liangxiao Li Haiyan Zhu Qingwen Yang Xuezhi Niu Xin | 2018 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,4: | 0 |
| 20 | Exploring the links between gut microbiome changes and irritable bowel syndrome in Han populations in the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The gut microbiome shows changes under a plateau environment,while the disbalance of intestinal microbiota plays an important role in the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS);however,the relationship between the two remains unexplored.In this work,we followed up a healthy cohort for up to a year before and after living in a plateau environment and performed 16S ribosomal RNA(rRNA)sequencing analysis of their fecal samples.Through evaluating the participants’clinical symptoms,combined with an IBS questionnaire,we screened the IBS sub-population in our cohort.The sequencing results showed that a high-altitude environment could lead to changes in the diversity and composition of gut flora.In addition,we found that the longer the time volunteers spent in the plateau environment,the more similar their gut microbiota composition and abundance became compared to those before entering the plateau,and IBS symptoms were significantly alleviated.Therefore,we speculated that the plateau may be a special environment that induces IBS.The taxonomic units g_Alistipes,g_Oscillospira,and s_Ruminococcus_torques,which had been proved to play important roles in IBS pathogenesis,were also abundant in the IBS cohort at high altitudes.Overall,the disbalance of gut microbiota induced by the plateau environment contributed to the high frequency of IBS and the psychosocial abnormalities associated with IBS.Our results prompt further research to elucidate the relevant mechanism. | Xingguang ZHANG Wei XU Weilong ZHONG Wencheng ZHANG Cheng YANG Lisa DUAN Haiyan NIU Yanmei DONG Taotao LIU Shihai XIA Bangmao WANG | 2023 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2023,24,9: | 0 |
