| 1 | Efficient visible light photo-Fenton-like degradation of organic pollutants using in situ surface-modified BiFeO_3 as a catalyst显示文摘The visible light photo-Fenton-like catalytic performance of BiFeO3 nanoparticles was investigated using Methyl Violet(MV),Rhodamine B(RhB) and phenol as probes.Under optimum conditions,the pseudo first-order rate constant(k) was determined to be 2.21 × 102,5.56 × 102 and 2.01 × 102 min 1 for the degradation of MV(30 μmol/L),RhB(10 μmol/L) and phenol(3 mmol/L),respectively,in the BiFeO3-H2O2-visible light(Vis) system.The introduction of visible light irradiation increased the k values of MV,RhB and phenol degradation 3.47,1.95 and 2.07 times in comparison with those in dark.Generally,the k values in the BiFeO3H2O2-Vis system were accelerated by increasing BiFeO3 load and H2O2 concentration,but decreased with increasing initial pollutant concentration.To further enhance the degradation of pollutants at high concentrations,BiFeO3 was modified with the addition of surface modifiers.The addition of ethylenediamineteraacetic acid(EDTA,0.4 mmol/L) increased the k value of MV degradation(60 μmol/L) from 1.01 × 102 min-1 in the BiFeO 3-H2O2-Vis system to 1.30 min-1 in the EDTA-BiFeO3-H2O2-Vis system by a factor of 128.This suggests that in situ surface modification can enable BiFeO3 nano-particles to be a promising visible light photo-Fenton-like catalyst for the degradation of organic pollutants. | Junjian An Lihua Zhu Yingying Zhang Heqing Tang | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,6: | 10 |
| 2 | Gentiopicroside targets PAQR3 to activate the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and ameliorate disordered glucose and lipid metabolism显示文摘The obstruction of post-insulin receptor signaling is the main mechanism of insulin-resistant diabetes.Progestin and adipoQ receptor 3(PAQR3),a key regulator of inflammation and metabolism,can negatively regulate the PI3 K/AKT signaling pathway.Here,we report that gentiopicroside(GPS),the main bioactive secoiridoid glycoside of Gentiana manshurica Kitagawa,decreased lipid synthesis and increased glucose utilization in palmitic acid(PA) treated HepG2 cells.Additionally,GPS improved glycolipid metabolism in streptozotocin(STZ) treated high-fat diet(HFD)-induced diabetic mice.Our findings revealed that GPS promoted the activation of the PI3 K/AKT axis by facilitating DNA-binding protein 2(DDB2)-mediated PAQR3 ubiquitinated degradation.Moreover,results of surface plasmon resonance(SPR),microscale thermophoresis(MST) and thermal shift assay(TSA) indicated that GPS directly binds to PAQR3.Results of molecular docking and cellular thermal shift assay(CETSA) revealed that GPS directly bound to the amino acids of the PAQR3 NH2-terminus including Leu40,Asp42,Glu69,Tyr125 and Ser129,and spatially inhibited the interaction between PAQR3 and the PI3 K catalytic subunit(P110α) to restore the PI3 K/AKT signaling pathway.In summary,our study identified GPS,which inhibits PAQR3 expression and directly targets PAQR3 to restore insulin signaling pathway,as a potential drug candidate for the treatment of diabetes. | Haiming Xiao Xiaohong Sun Zeyuan Lin Yan Yang Meng Zhang Zhanchi Xu Peiqing Liu Zhongqiu Liu Heqing Huang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,6: | 7 |
| 3 | Cell sheet formation enhances the therapeutic effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells on myocardial infarction as a bioactive material显示文摘Stem cell-based therapy has been used to treat ischaemic heart diseases for two decades.However,optimal cell types and transplantation methods remain unclear.This study evaluated the therapeutic effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell(hUCMSC)sheet on myocardial infarction(MI).Methods:hUCMSCs expressing luciferase were generated by lentiviral transduction for in vivo bio-luminescent imaging tracking of cells.We applied a temperature-responsive cell culture surface-based method to form the hUCMSC sheet.Cell retention was evaluated using an in vivo bio-luminescent imaging tracking system.Unbiased transcriptional profiling of infarcted hearts and further immunohistochemical assessment of monocyte and macrophage subtypes were used to determine the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of the hUCMSC sheet.Echocardiography and pathological analyses of heart sections were performed to evaluate cardiac function,angiogenesis and left ventricular remodelling.Results:When transplanted to the infarcted mouse hearts,hUCMSC sheet significantly improved the retention and survival compared with cell suspension.At the early stage of MI,hUCMSC sheet modulated inflammation by decreasing Mcp1-positive monocytes and CD68-positive macrophages and increasing Cx3cr1-positive non-classical macrophages,preserving the cardiomyocytes from acute injury.Moreover,the extracellular matrix produced by hUCMSC sheet then served as bioactive scaffold for the host cells to graft and generate new epicardial tissue,providing mechanical support and routes for revascularsation.These effects of hUCMSC sheet treatment significantly improved the cardiac function at days 7 and 28 post-MI.Conclusions:hUCMSC sheet formation dramatically improved the biological functions of hUCMSCs,mitigating adverse post-MI remodelling by modulating the inflammatory response and providing bioactive scaffold upon transplantation into the heart.Translational perspective:Due to its excellent availability as well as superior local cellular retention and survival,allogenic transplantation of hUCMSC sheets can more effectively acquire the biological functions of hUCMSCs,such as modulating inflammation and enhancing angiogenesis.Moreover,the hUCMSC sheet method allows the transfer of an intact extracellular matrix without introducing exogenous or synthetic biomaterial,further improving its clinical applicability. | Rui Guo Feng Wan Masatoshi Morimatsu Qing Xu Tian Feng Hang Yang Yichen Gong Shuhong Ma Yun Chang Siyao Zhang Youxu Jiang Heqing Wang Dehua Chang Hongjia Zhang Yunpeng Ling Feng Lan | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,9: | 6 |
| 4 | Biodegradation behavior of magnesium and ZK60 alloy in artificial urine and rat models显示文摘In this work, the biodegradable and histocompatibility properties of pure Mg and ZK60 alloy wereinvestigated as new temporary implants for urinary applications. The corrosion mechanism in artificialurine was proposed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarizationtests. The corrosion potential of pure magnesium and ZK60 alloy were -1820 and -1561 mV, respectively,and the corrosion current densities were 59.66 ± 6.41 and 41.94 ± 0.53 μA cm^-2, respectively. Thein vitro degradation rates for pure Mg and ZK60 alloy in artificial urine were 0.382 and 1.023 mm/y,respectively, determined from immersion tests. The ZK60 alloy degraded faster than the pure Mg in bothartificial urine and in rat bladders (the implants of both samples are ø 3 mm × 5 mm). Histocompatibilityevaluations showed good histocompatibility for the pure Mg and ZK60 alloy during the 3 weeks postimplantationin rat bladders, and no harm was observed in the bladder, liver and kidney tissues. | 9 | Cardiorespiratory Effects of Indoor Ozone Exposure Associated with Changes in Metabolic Profiles among Children:A Repeated-Measure Panel Study显示文摘Ozone is one of the major gaseous pollutants associated with short-term adverse cardiopulmonary effects,even at concentrations below the current indoor air quality limits.However,the underlying biological mechanisms of cardiorespiratory changes with exposure to ozone remain unclear.To further explore molecular linkages between indoor ozone exposure and relevant cardiorespiratory effects,a repeated-measure panel study including 46 schoolchildren was conducted and real-time exposure measurements including ozone were performed inside classrooms every weekday during the study period.Repeated health measurements and urine sample collection were conducted in each participant.Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry and meet-in-metabolite approach were used in metabolomics analysis.Methods including mixed-effect models were adopted to identify metabolites associated with ozone exposure or health indices.Nine metabolites were found to be associated with ozone after mixed-effect model analysis,which are mainly involved in amino acid and bile acid metabolism.Boys may have a greater decrease in bile acid and RNA related metabolites.Four of the nine ozone-related metabolites were also associated with cardiorespiratory function indices.Furthermore,26.67%of the positive association between ozone and heart rate was mediated by cholestane-3,7,12,25-tetrol-3-glucuronide.Exposure to ozone below the current indoor standards was associated with the deteriorated cardiovascular function by disturbing bile acid and endogenous nitric oxide-related oxidation and inflammation,and associated with the exacerbated airway inflammation by reducing GPx-related anti-oxidation.The results provide metabolic evidence of the cardiorespiratory effects of indoor ozone exposure.Indoor ozone pollution should be controlled further,and more attention should be paid to preventing its adverse health effects,especially in children. | Shan Liu Qingyu Huang Xi Zhang Wei Dong Wenlou Zhang Shaowei Wu Di Yang Bingru Nan Jie Zhang Heqing Shen Xinbiao Guo Furong Deng | 2021 | The Innovation2021,2,1: | 1 |
