| 2 | Craniocerebral injury promotes the repair of peripheral nerve injury显示文摘The increase in neurotrophic factors after craniocerebral injury has been shown to promote fracture healing. Moreover, neurotrophic factors play a key role in the regeneration and repair of peripheral nerve. However, whether craniocerebral injury alters the repair of peripheral nerve injuries remains poorly understood. Rat injury models were established by transecting the left sciatic nerve and using a free-fall device to induce craniocerebral injury. Compared with sciatic nerve injury alone after 6–12 weeks, rats with combined sciatic and craniocerebral injuries showed decreased sciatic functional index, increased recovery of gastrocnemius muscle wet weight, recovery of sciatic nerve ganglia and corresponding spinal cord segment neuron morphologies, and increased numbers of horseradish peroxidase-labeled cells. | 4 | Preparation and Bloating Mechanism of Porous Ultra-lightweight Ceramsite by Dehydrated Sewage Sludge and Yellow River Sediments显示文摘To solve the disposal problems of solid wastes, dehydrated sewage sludge and Yellow River sediments were tested as components for production of ultra-lightweight ceramsite. The effects of Yellow River sediments addition on the characteristics of ceramsite were investigated. Ceramsite with different Yellow River sediments additions was characterized using thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, morphological structures analyses, pore size distributions and porosity analyses. Chemical components, especially ratios of Si O2 + Al2O3/Flux, were used to explain the glassy shell formation, physical properties and pores distribution of ultralightweight ceramsite; physical forces for instance expansion force and frictional resistance which combined with Si O2 + Al2O3/Flux ratios were used to explain the bloating mechanism. Results showed that the maximum addition of Yellow River sediments for making ultra-lightweight ceramsite was 35%. Macropores(between 0.226 μm and 0.554 μm) of ultra-lightweight ceramsite were dominant in the pore structures of ultra-lightweight ceramsite and its porosity was up to 67.7%. Physical force of expansion force was constant with the variation of Yellow River sediments content and physical force of frictional resistance was decreased with the increase of Yellow River sediments addition. The relationship between expansion and frictional resistance could determine the expansion rate of ceramsite. Larger pores inside the ceramsite bodies could be obtained as Yellow River sediments additions ranged from 10% to 30%. Ceramsite with higher Yellow River sediments additions of 40%(Si O2 + Al2O3/Flux ratios 4.25) became denser and have lower porosity. | 5 | Rapid and sensitive liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometric method for the quantitative determination of potentially harmful substance 5,5′-oxydimethylenebis (2-furfural) in traditional Chinese medicine injections显示文摘With the rapid development and wide application of traditional Chinese medicine injection(TCMI), a number of adverse events of some TCMIs have incessantly been reported and have drawn broad attention in recent years. Establishing effective and practical analytical methods for safety evaluation and quality control of TCMI can help to improve the safety of TCMIs in clinical applications. In this study, a sensitive and rapid high-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC–MS/MS)method has been developed and validated for the quantitative determination of potentially harmful substance5,5′-oxydimethylenebis(2-furfural, OMBF) in TCMI samples. Chromatographic separation was performed on a C18 reversed-phase column(150 mm × 2.1 mm, 5 μm) by gradient elution, using methanol–water containing 0.1% formic acid as mobile phase at the flow rate of 0.3 m L/min. MS/MS detection was performed on a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer with positive electrospray ionization in the multiple reaction-monitoring mode. The method was sensitive with a limit of quantification of 0.3 ng/m L and linear over the range of 0.3–30 ng/m L(r = 0.9998). Intra-and inter-day precision for analyte was o9.52% RSD withrecoveries in the range 88.0–109.67% at three concentration levels. The validated method was successfully applied to quantitatively determine the compound OMBF in TCMIs and glucose injections. The molecule consists of a triphenylamine (TPA) unit as the core and a donor unit with three arms containing benzo[1,2,5]thiadiazole (BT) acceptor units and 5,5''-dihexyl-2,2′:3′,2″-terthiophene (tTh) end groups. The molecule, denoted S(TPA-BT-tTh), exhibits a broad absorption band in the wavelength range 300-650 nm and high hole mobility of 1.1×10 -4 cm2 V -1 s 1 . | 11 | Excellent thermal shock resistance of NiCrAlY coatings on copper substrate via laser cladding显示文摘Coatings are widely used to protect substrates in extreme thermal environments(e.g., arc heaters), and thermal shock resistance is a crucial parameter for the coatings, which requires tight interlayer bonding between coatings and substrates. In this work, Ni Cr Al Y coatings were highly required for the pure copper substrate to restrict the electric arc in arc heaters. To overcome the bonding difculty of coating on the copper surface, the Ni Cr Al Y coatings were prepared by two laser cladding methods: conventional laser cladding(CLC) and high-speed laser cladding(HSLC). The microstructure, composition, and thermal shock resistance of Ni Cr Al Y cladding layers prepared by both methods were investigated. Benefitting from the high cooling rate and high energy density, the HSLC-layer has better composition uniformity and tighter interlayer bonding than the CLC-layer, achieving a 30%–45% improvement in thermal cycling lifetime. Besides, the Ni Cr Al Y layers prepared on copper substrate by both laser cladding methods exhibit3–10 times better thermal shock resistance than those Ni Cr Al Y layers prepared by conventional spraying methods. It further confirms the great effects of metallurgical bonding and composition uniformity on the thermal shock resistance of coatings. Wear has been an especially vexing problem. Plasma cladding methods were used to study optimized sliding boot design. By cladding the substrate steel the surface may be made of a material more resistant to wear. The iron based alloy Cr4MnTi was coated onto a modified 45 steel matrix material in these tests. The results show that the alloy cladding layer is high strength, has high hardness, and is highly resistant to wear. | 16 | Carbon nanotubes-incorporated MIL-88B-Fe as highly efficient Fenton-like catalyst for degradation of organic pollutants显示文摘Iron-based metal organic frameworks have been verified to be efficient heterogeneous Fenton catalysts due to their open pore channels and highly uniform distribution of metallic centers.In these catalysts,however,the iron element is mainly in the form of Fe(III),which results in a process required to reduce Fe(III)to Fe(II)to initiate Fenton reaction.To address this problem,carbon nanotubes(CNTs)with electron-rich oxygen-functional groups on the surface were incorporated into the metal organic frameworks(MIL-88B-Fe)to improve Fe(II)content for an enhanced Fenton-like performance.The prepared CNT@MIL-88B-Fe(C@M)showed much stronger catalytic ability toward H2O2 than MIL-88B-Fe.The pseudo-first-order kinetic constant for phenol degradation by C@M(0.32 min–1)was about 7 times that of MIL-88B-Fe,and even higher than or comparable to the values of reported heterogeneous Fenton-like catalysts.Moreover,the Fenton-like system could effectively degrade various kinds of refractory organic pollutants and exhibited excellent catalytic activity over a wide pH range(4–9).XPS analysis confirmed that Fe(II)content of the catalyst gradually increased with CNT loadings.Electron spin resonance analysis showed that the signal intensity(?OH)of C@M was much higher than MIL-88B-Fe,which was consistent with the degradation efficiency of pollutants.Furthermore,the Fe(II)content of the catalyst gradually increased along with the oxygen-functional group content of CNTs.The result demonstrated that oxygen-containing functional groups of CNTs have a significant impact on the enhanced catalytic performance of C@M.This study provides a new insight to enhance Fenton reaction by using nanocarbon materials. | Hang Zhang Shuo Chen Haiguang Zhang Xinfei Fan Cong Gao Hongtao Yu Xie Quan | 2019 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,2: | 2 |
