4Effects of Exogenous Manganese (Mn) on Mineral Elements, Polyamines and Antioxidants in Apple Rootstock Malus robusta Rehd.显示文摘Manganese(Mn)is one of the essential microelements in all organisms.However,high level of Mn is deleterious to plants.In this study,the effects of exogenous manganese application on mineral element,polyamine(PA)and antioxidant accumulation,as well as polyamine metabolic and antioxidant enzyme activities,were investigated in Malus robusta Rehd.,a widely grown apple rootstock.High level of Mn treatments decreased endogenous Mg,Na,K and Ca contents,but increased Zn content,in a Mn-concentration-dependent manner.Polyamine metabolic assays revealed that,except the content of perchloric acid insoluble bound(PIS-bound)spermine,which increased significantly,the contents of putrescine(Put),spermidine(Spd)and spermine(Spm)all decreased progressively,accompanied with the decreased activities of arginine decarboxylase(ADC,EC 4.1.1.19)and ornithine decarboxylase(ODC,EC 4.1.1.17),and the increased activities of diamine oxidase(DAO,EC 1.4.3.6)and polyamine oxidase(PAO,EC 1.5.3.3).Further antioxidant capacity analyses demonstrated that contents of anthocyanin,non-protein thiols(NPT)and soluble sugar,and the activities of guaiacol peroxidase(POD,EC 1.11.1.7),catalase(CAT,EC 1.11.1.6)and superoxide dismutase(SOD,EC 1.15.1.1),also increased upon different concentrations of Mn treatments.Our results suggest that endogenous ion homeostasis is affected by high level of Mn application,and polyamine and antioxidant metabolism is involved in the responses of M.robusta Rehd.plants to high level of Mn stress.Dazhuang Qi Meixia Liang Fudong Jiang Jianzhao Li Xuqiang Qiao Hongxia Zhang 2020Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2020,89,4:1
5Analysis of Sulfate Corrosion Resistance and Reliability of Recycled Concrete显示文摘In order to study the effect of different recycled fine aggregate and recycled coarse aggregate substitution rate on the sulfate resistance of recycled concrete under dry-wet cycle conditions,the substitution rate of recycled fine aggregate and recycled coarse aggregate was designed to be 0%/0%,10%/0%,0%/25%,10%/25%,0%/50%and 10%/50%of the six groups of mixture ratio.The mass loss rate and relative dynamic modulus of each group of test blocks were tested respectively and the optimal ratio was selected.The Wiener distribution probability method was used to establish the reliability function to optimize the remaining life of the ratio.The results show that the dynamic elastic modulus and mass show a trend of increasing first and then decreasing during the dry-wet cycles of sulfate.The recycled concrete has the strongest resistance to sulfate attack under the substitution rate of recycled fine aggregate and recycled coarse aggregate is 10%and 0%,and the test blocks will be damaged after being subjected to 182 times of dry-wet cycles of sulfate.The effect of recycled coarse aggregate on the sulfate attack resistance of the test block is more obvious than that of the recycled fine aggregate,which leads to the durability of the concrete being greatly reduced.QIAO Hongxia ZHU Xiangchen CHEN Kefan PENG Kuan 2020Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2020,25,3:0

7Posthumous organ donation beliefs of college students:A qualitative study显示文摘Objective:To explore the perspectives and beliefs of college students toward posthumous organ donation,and the factors influencing their beliefs.Methods:This was a descriptive phenomenology study conducted with semi-structured indepth interviews.Nine college students attending three universities in Beijing who agreed to participate in this study were interviewed.Data were analyzed following the guideline suggested by Colaizzi(1978).Briefly,statements identified as noteworthy were coded and organized.A description was then written to formalize their meaning and returned to the participants for validation of the description.Results:In general,the participants exhibited positive attitudes toward posthumous organ donation.However,not all subjects indicated that they would become an organ donor.Based on the provided responses,four main themes emerged:(1)knowledge about organ donation,participants reported a general lack of education or understanding of organ transplantation and donation;(2)core beliefs on organ donation,despite believing it is valuable public service,participants were unwilling to go against the cultural beliefs held by parents and elders;(3)factors influencing beliefs on organ donation,including cultural and peer opinion,posthumous care of the body,legal registration,and publicity;(4)institutional and policy context,lack of guarantee for proper use of organs after donation was a concern.Conclusion:Despite positive attitudes towards posthumous organ donation,college students are hesitant to become donors because of lack of knowledge/publicity;cultural disdain;and lack of governmental assurance.Hongxia Liu Xiao Peng Shuping Zhang Xue Qiao Yufang Hao 2015International Journal of Nursing Sciences2015,2,2:0
8Immediate and long-term outcomes after treat-all among people living with HIV in China:an interrupted time series analysis显示文摘Background In 2003,China implemented free antiretroviral therapy(ART)for people living with HIV(PLHIV),establishing an eligibility threshold of CD4<200 cells/μl.Subsequently,the entry criteria were revised in 2012(eligibility threshold:CD4≤350 cells/μl),2014(CD4≤500 cells/μl),and 2016(treat-all).However,the impact of treat-all policy on HIV care and treatment indicators in China is unknown.We aimed to elucidate the immediate and long-term impact of the implementation of treat-all policy in China.Methods Anonymized programmatic data on ART initiation and collection in PLHIV who newly started ART were retrieved between 1 January 2015 and 31 December 2019,from two provincial and municipal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and ten major infectious disease hospitals specialized in HIV care in China.We used Poisson and quasi-Poisson segmented regression models to estimate the immediate and long-term impact of treat-all on three key indicators:monthly proportion of 30-day ART initiation,mean CD4 counts(cells/μl)at ART initiation,and mean estimated time from infection to diagnosis(year).We built separate models according to gender,age,route of transmission and region.Results Monthly data on ART initiation and collection were available for 75,516 individuals[gender:83.8%males;age:median 39 years,interquartile range(IQR):28-53;region:18.5%Northern China,10.9%Northeastern China,17.5%Southern China,49.2%Southwestern China].In the first month of treat-all,compared with the contemporaneous counterfactual,there was a significant increase in proportion of 30-day ART initiation[+12.6%,incidence rate ratio(IRR)=1.126,95%CI:1.033-1.229;P=0.007]and mean estimated time from infection to diagnosis(+7.0%,IRR=1.070,95%CI:1.021-1.120;P=0.004),while there was no significant change in mean CD4 at ART initiation(IRR=0.990,95%CI:0.956-1.026;P=0.585).By December 2019,the three outcomes were not significantly different from expected levels.In the stratified analysis,compared with the contemporaneous counterfactual,mean CD4 at ART initiation showed significant increases in Northern China(+3.3%,IRR=1.033,95%CI:1.001-1.065;P=0.041)and Northeastern China(+8.0%,IRR=1.080,95%CI:1.003-1.164;P=0.042)in the first month of treat-all;mean estimated time from infection to diagnosis showed significant increases in male(+5.6%,IRR=1.056,95%CI:1.010-1.104;P=0.016),female(+14.8%,IRR=1.148,95%CI:1.062-1.240;P<0.001),aged 26-35(+5.3%,IRR=1.053,95%CI:1.001-1.109;P=0.048)and>50(+7.8%,IRR=1.078,95%CI:1.000-1.161;P=0.046),heterosexual transmission(+12.4%,IRR=1.124,95%CI:1.042-1.213;P=0.002)and Southwestern China(+12.9%,IRR=1.129,95%CI:1.055-1.208;P<0.001)in the first month of treat-all.Conclusions The implementation of treat-all policy in China was associated with a positive effect on HIV care and treatment outcomes.To advance the work of rapid ART,efforts should be made to streamline the testing and ART initiation process,provide comprehensive support services,and address the issue of uneven distribution of medical resources.Xinsheng Wu Guohui Wu Ping Ma Rugang Wang Linghua Li Yinghui Sun Junjie Xu Yuwei Li Tong Zhang Quanmin Li Yuecheng Yang Lijing Wang Xiaoli Xin Ying Qiao Bingxue Fang Zhen Lu Xinyi Zhou Yuanyi Chen Qi Liu Gengfeng Fu Hongxia Wei Xiaojie Huang Bin Su Hui Wang Huachun Zou 2023Infectious Diseases of Poverty2023,12,4:0
9Composites Based on GM(1,1)-Markov in the Salt Spray Corrosion Environment显示文摘This study was designed to solve the problem of magnesium hazards due to potash extraction in the salt lake region.Using basalt fiber(BF)as the reinforcement material and magnesium oxychloride cement(MOC)as the gelling material,a BF/MOC composite material was prepared.Firstly,the effect of BF addition content on the basic mechanical properties of the composites was investigated.Then,through the salt spray corrosion test,the durability damage deterioration evaluation analysis was carried out from both macroscopic and microscopic aspects using mass change,relative dynamic modulus of elasticity(RDME)change,SEM analysis and FT-IR analysis.Finally,a GM(1,1)-Markov model was established to predict the durability life of composite materials by using durability evaluation indicators.The results show that:when the BF content is 0.10%(by volumetric content),the composites have the best mechanical properties and resistance to salt spray corrosion.However,when the volume of BF content exceeds 0.10%,a large number of magnesium salt crystallization products are observed from the microscopic point of view,and the corrosion of the main strength phase of MOC is more serious.The prediction results of the GM(1,1)-Markov model are highly identical with the raw data.In addition,using the change of RDME as a predictor,RDME is more sensitive to environmental factor compared to the change of mass.Predictions using the change of RDME as a threshold indicate that MOC-BF0.10 has the longest durability life,which is 836 days.The model is important to promote the application of MOC composites in the salt lake region and to promote the healthy development of green building materials.Jianqiao Yu Hongxia Qiao Theogene Hakuzweyezu Feifei Zhu 2022Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,11:0
10Microfluidic separation of particles by synergistic effect of geometry-induced hydrodynamics and magnetic field显示文摘Microfluidic combined with magnetic field have been demonstrated to be the promising solutions for fast and low-damage particles separation.However,the difficulties in the precise layout of magnets and accurate prediction of particle trajectories lead to under and over separation of target particles.A novel particle separation lab-on-chip(LOC)prototype integrated with microstructures and micropolar arrays is designed and characterized.Meanwhile,a numerical model for the separation of magnetic particles by the synergistic effect of geometry-induced hydrodynamics and magnetic field is constructed.The effect of geometry and magnetic field layout on particle deflection is systematically analyzed to implement accurate prediction of particle trajectories.It is found that the separation efficiency of magnetic particles increased from 50.2%to 91.7%and decreased from 88.6%to 85.7%in the range of depth factors from 15µm to 27µm and width factors from 30µm to 60µm,respectively.In particular,the combined effect of the offset distance of permanent magnets and the distance from the main flow channel exhibits a significant difference from the conventional perception.Finally,the developed LOC prototype was generalized for extension to arbitrary systems.This work provides a new insight and robust method for the microfluidic separation of magnetic particles.Du Qiao Hongxia Li Weiping Zhu Lili Zhu Danyang Zhao Honglin Li 2024Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,2:0
11Construction of a Cu@hollow TS-1 nanoreactor based on a hierarchical full-spectrum solar light utilization strategy for photothermal synergistic artificial photosynthesis显示文摘The artificial photosynthesis technology has been recognized as a promising solution for CO_(2) utilization.Photothermal catalysis has been proposed as a novel strategy to promote the efficiency of artificial photosynthesis by coupling both photochemistry and thermochemistry.However,strategies for maximizing the use of solar spectra with different frequencies in photothermal catalysis are urgently needed.Here,a hierarchical full-spectrum solar light utilization strategy is proposed.Based on this strategy,a Cu@hollow titanium silicalite-1 zeolite(TS-1)nanoreactor with spatially separated photo/thermal catalytic sites is designed to realize high-efficiency photothermal catalytic artificial photosynthesis.The space-time yield of alcohol products over the optimal catalyst reached 64.4μmol g−1 h−1,with the selectivity of CH3CH2OH of 69.5%.This rationally designed hierarchical utilization strategy for solar light can be summarized as follows:(1)high-energy ultraviolet light is utilized to drive the initial and difficult CO_(2) activation step on the TS-1 shell;(2)visible light can induce the localized surface plasmon resonance effect on plasmonic Cu to generate hot electrons for H2O dissociation and subsequent reaction steps;and(3)low-energy near-infrared light is converted into heat by the simulated greenhouse effect by cavities to accelerate the carrier dynamics.This work provides some scientific and experimental bases for research on novel,highly efficient photothermal catalysts for artificial photosynthesis.Sixian Zhu Qiao Zhao Hongxia Guo Li Liu Xiao Wang Xiwei Qi Xianguang Meng Wenquan Cui 2024Carbon Energy2024,6,2:0
12The Feasibility of Basalt Rock Powder and Superfine Sand as Partial Replacement Materials for Portland Cement and Artificial Sand in Cement Mortar显示文摘The research gap on the feasibility of basalt rock powder(BRP)and superfine sand(SS)in preparation of cement mortar is significant.This study examines probable changes occurred in the modified cement mortar due to incorporation of certain quantity of basalt rock powder and superfine sand in mixture proportion.The cement mortar included Portland cement,artificial sand and water as principal mixture constituents.Then,basalt rock powder and superfine sand were added as partial replacement materials for Portland cement and artificial sand respectively.Therefore,replacement percentages were 10%,15%,20%,25%and 30%when the basalt rock powder replaced Portland cement and in case the artificial sand was replaced by superfine sand,10%,20%,30%,40%and 50%.Then,the strength indexes such as flexural strength,compressive strength,ultrasonic pulse velocity and dynamic elastic modulus were investigated.The results show that the presence of basalt rock powder in mixture proportion increased the flexural and compressive strengths of cement mortar however the cement mortar that contained superfine sand illustrated inadequate mechanical performance as flexural and compressive strengths decreased remarkably.Moreover,when basalt rock powder and superfine sand were included together in mixture proportion,the cement mortar’s mechanical performance declined compared to that of the reference cement mortar.Despite the fact that basalt rock powder and superfine sand weakened the cement mortar’s mechanical properties,it was found that they can be added into the cement mortar as partial replacement of Portland cement and artificial sand in the following ratios:from 10%to 25%when basalt rock powder replaces Portland cement and from 10%to 20%when artificial sand is replaced by superfine sand.Hongxia Qiao Desire Ndahirwa Yuanke Li Jinke Liang 2019Research and Application of Materials Science2019,1,1:0
