NEURO-COGNITIVE MECHANISMS UNDERLYING THE EMOTIONAL MODULATION OF WORD READING显示文摘A novel neural model for emotional modulation of word reading is proposed. This model has four principal hypotheses: the dominant activa-tion region hypothesis, the emotional modulation hypothesis, the attentional level hypothesis, and the interaction hypothesis. Four lines of research were reviewed to provide evidence for these hypotheses: (1) neuro-cognitive studies on the mechanisms of word reading (i.e., neural networks for reading); (2) studies on the influence of words’ emotional valence on word reading; (3) studies of the effect of attention on word reading; and (4) studies on emotional modulation of word reading under different attentional levels. | PENG Danling HU Zhiguo LIU Hongyan LIU Conghui DING Guosheng | 2006 | Chinese Science Bulletin2006,51,4: | 12
Clinical features of seizures after cerebral venous sinus thrombosis and its effect on outcome among Chinese Han population显示文摘background and purpose Clinical features of epileptic seizures after cerebral venous sinus thrombosis(CVST)among Chinese patients are not known, and it is still controversial whether seizures would affect the outcome of CVST.Methods In a Chinese hospital-based study of consecutive patients with CVST between 2003 and 2015,we described the clinical features of seizures and determined the predictors of seizure onset using multivariable logistic regression analysis. We also compared the in-hospital case-fatality and short-term functional outcome(modified Rankin Scale(mRS)at discharge)in patients with versus without seizures using ordinal regression analysis.results Among 151 patients with CVST,52(34.4%)presented seizures,of which 42(80.8%)were generalised seizures.Male gender(OR 6.32,95% CI 2.06 to 19.35,p=0.001),motor deficits(OR 4.89,95% CI 1.52 to 15.68,p=0.008),intracerebral haemorrhage(OR 3.93,95% CI 1.16 to 13.26,p=0.027),cerebral infarction(OR 3.78,95% CI 1.15 to 12.36,p=0.029)and superior sagittal sinus thrombosis(OR 3.38,95% CI 91.16 to 9.86,p=0.026)were independent predictors for seizures. The overall in-hospital case-fatality rate was 2.0%(3/151),and 21(13.9%)had mRS>2 at discharge.Compared with patients without seizures, patients with seizures were more likely to have a worse outcome(p=0.02)at discharge, independent of age, gender, clinical presentation, clot burden and presence of parenchymal lesions.conclusions In Chinese Han patients, compared with patients without seizures, patients with seizures after CVST had a worse outcome.Risk factors such as male gender, paresis, parenchymal lesion and superior sagittal sinus thrombosis were independently associated with seizure onset after CVST.Generalised seizure was the main form of seizures after CVST,which was obviously different to seizures after strokes of arterial origin. | Hongyan Ding Yanan Xie Linxin Li Heling Chu Yuping Tang Qiang Dong Mei Cui | 2017 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,4: | 8
The localization of type 2 diabetes susceptibility gene loci in northern Chinese Han families显示文摘We conducted a genome-wide scan, in which 358 well distributed fluorescent dye-labeled microsatellite marker sets were applied in 32 Chinese Han type 2 diabetes families from Northern China to search for the susceptibility gene loci. The data collected from screening all the chromosomes of genome were genotyped by using genescan and genotyping software, then, parametric and non-parametric multipoint test, and affected sib-pair analysis as well, were used to analyze the data. We identified some susceptibility gene loci residing in chromosomes 1,12,18,20, respectively, or precisely, located around D1S214, D1S207, D1S218, D1S235, D12S336, D18S61 and D20S118. The comparison of this result with those from other regions and races reflected the complexity and heterogeneity of type 2 diabetes. | ZHAO Jinying WANG Heng XIONG Momiao HUANG Wei ZUO Jin CHEN Zhu QIANG Boqin SUN Qi LI Yuxiu LIU Qiuying DU Weinan CHEN Jialun DING Wei YUAN Wentao ZHAO Yang XU Hongyan JIN Li FANG Fude | 2000 | Chinese Science Bulletin2000,45,19: | 8

And the system model is analyzed based on the transmission system of the construction vehicle. A new four-parameter shift schedule is presented, which can keep the torque converter working in the high efficiency area. The control algorithm based on the Elman recursive neural network is applied, and four-parameter control system is developed which is based on industrial computer. The system is used to collect data accurately and control 4D180 power-shift gearbox of ZL50E wheel loader shift timely. An experiment is done on automatic transmission test-bed,and the result indicates that the control system could reliably and safely work and improve the efficiency of hydraulic torque converter. | 6 | Failure Envelopes of Wide-Shallow Composite Bucket Foundation for Offshore Wind Turbines in Silty Sand显示文摘The wide-shallow composite bucket foundation(WSCBF) is a new type of offshore wind power foundation that can be built on land and rapidly installed offshore, there by effectively reducing the construction time and costs of offshore wind power foundation. In this study, the horizontal bearing capacity is calculated by finite element simulation and compared with test results to verify the validity of results. In this process, the vertical load and bending load are respectively calculated by the finite element simulation. Under the vertical load effect, the bucket foundation and the soil inside are regarded as a whole, and the corresponding buckling failure mode is obtained. The ultimate vertical bearing capacity is calculated using empirical and theoretical formulas; the theoretical formula is also revised by finite element results. Under bending load, the rotational center of the composite bucket foundation(in a region close to the bucket bottom) gradually moves from the left of the central axis(reverse to loading direction) to the nearby compartment boards along the loading direction. The H–M envelope line shows a linear relationship, and it is determined that the vertical and bending ultimate bearing capacities can be improved by an appropriate vertical load. | Yonggang Liu Yaohua Guo Hongyan Ding Puyang Zhang | 2018 | Transactions of Tianjin University2018,24,2: | 5 |
Factors Influencing Strength of Super Absorbent Polymer(SAP)Concrete显示文摘Super absorbent polymers (SAPs) are gradually being applied in concrete production as internal curing agents.SAP can effectively reduce early age autogenous shrinkage of concrete, alleviate the hazards caused by concrete cracking and improve its freeze–thaw resistance. However, the relationships between SAP dosage,SAP particle size and the water–cement ratio of concrete have certain influences on the evolution of the compressive strength of SAP-incorporated concrete. In this study, experiments were conducted to investigate the relationships between the water–cement ratio of concrete, the SAP dosage and SAP particle size. The significant factors influencing concrete strength are determined and equations are proposed for predicting the strength of SAP-incorporated concrete at 3,7 and 28 days. The findings from this study, such as the SAP dosage should not be larger than 0.2%,are expected to form a theoretical basis for the rational use of SAP as an additive to concrete. | Hongyan Ding Lei Zhang Puyang Zhang | 2017 | Transactions of Tianjin University2017,23,3: | 5
Changes in extreme high-temperature tolerance and activities of antioxidant enzymes of sacred lotus seeds显示文摘Sacred lotus (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. ‘Tielian’) seed is long-lived and extremely tolerant of high temperature. Water content of lotus and maize seeds was 0.103 and 0.129 g H2O [g DW] ?1, respectively. Water content, germination percentage and fresh weight of seedlings produced by surviving seeds gradually decreased with increasing treatment time at 100℃. Germination percentage of maize (Zea mays L. ‘Huangbaogu’) seeds was zero after they were treated at 100℃ for 15 min and that of lotus seeds was 13.5% following the treatment at 100℃ for 24 h. The time in which 50% of lotus and maize seeds were killed by 100℃ was about 14.5 h and 6 min, respectively. With increasing treatment time at 100℃, relative electrolyte leakage of lotus axes increased significantly, and total chlorophyll content of lotus axes markedly decreased. When treatment time at 100℃ was less than 12 h, subcellular structure of lotus hypocotyls remained fully intact. When treatment time at 100℃ was more than 12 h, plasmoly-sis gradually occurred, endoplasmic reticulum became unclear, nuclei and nucleoli broke down, most of mitochondria swelled, lipid granules accumulated at the cell periphery, and organelles and plas-molemma collapsed. Malondialdehyde (MDA) content of lotus axes and cotyledons decreased during 0-12 h of the treatment at 100℃ and then increased. By contrast, the MDA content of maize embryos and endosperms increased during 5-10 min of the treatment at 100℃ and then decreased slightly. For lotus seeds: (1) activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione reductase (GR) of axes and cotyledons and of catalase (CAT) of axes increased during the early phase of treatment at 100℃ and then decreased; and (2) activities of ascorbate peroxidase (APX) and dehydroascorbate reductase (DHAR) of axes and cotyledons and of CAT of cotyledons gradually decreased with increasing treat-ment time at 100℃. For maize seeds: (1) activities of SOD and DHAR of embryos and endosperms and of GR of embryos increased during the early phase of the treatment at 100℃ and then decreased; and (2) activities of APX and CAT of embryos and endosperms and of GR of endosperms rapidly decreased with increasing treatment time at 100℃. With decrease in seed germination, activities of SOD, APX, CAT, GR and DHAR of axes and cotyledons of lotus seeds decreased slowly, and those of embryos and endosperms of maize seeds decreased rapidly. | DING YanFen CHENG HongYan SONG SongQuan | 2008 | Science China(Life Sciences)2008,51,9: | 4
Protic vs aprotic ionic liquid for CO2 fixation:A simulation study显示文摘The cycloaddition of CO2 with epoxides catalyzed by ionic liquids(ILs)has been a widely ongoing studied hot topic over the years.Recent experimental research has shown that the protic ionic liquids(PILs)behave stronger hydrogen proton donating ability than aprotic ionic liquids(APILs),and can effectively catalyze the cycloaddition of CO2.Unfortunately,the mechanistic explanation remains primarily unraveled.Herein,a detailed simulation study on the cycloaddition reaction catalyzed by PIL([HDBU][Mim])in comparison with APIL([MeDBU][Mim])re-action catalysts was conducted, including the three-step route(ring-opening of PO(propylene oxide),insertion of CO2 and ring-closure of propylene carbonate(PC))and two-step route(simultaneously ring-opening of PO and addition of CO2,and then ring-closure of PC).Based on the activation energy barrier of the rate-determining step,PIL preferentially activates PO as the optimal route for the reaction with the energy barrier of 23.2 kcal mol-1,while that of APIL is 31.2 kcal mol-1.The role of[HDBU]+in the reaction was also explored and found that the direct formation of intermolecular hydrogen bond(H-bond)between[HDBU]+and the reactants(PO+CO2)was unfavorable for the reaction, while the cooperation with the anion[Mim]-to assist indirectly was more conducive. To fully consider the reaction microenvironment of ILs,ONIOM calculation was used to study the solvent effect. At last, the above conclusions were further verified by the analysis of intermediates with charge,non-covalent interaction(NCI),and atoms in molecules(AIM)methods. The computational findings show that ILs studied in this work have dual functions of catalyst and solvent, enabling a microscopic understanding of the ILs catalyst for CO2 utilization as well as providing guidance for the rational design of more efficient ILs-based catalysts. | Wenzhong Sun Meichen Wang Yaqin Zhang Weilu Ding Feng Huo Li Wei Hongyan He | 2020 | Green Energy & Environment2020,5,2: | 4
Contributions of different land cover types in Otindag Sandy Land and Bashang area of Hebei Province to the material source of sand stormy weather in Beijing显示文摘Different land cover types in Otindag Sandy Land and Bashang area of Hebei Province are linked to a material source of sand stormy weather in Beijing based on results of field vegetation and soil survey and laboratory works. Results of grain size analysis show that dust release potential in per unit area of moving sandy land is small, while lowland meadow and meadow steppe in stony hills have high potential of releasing dusts in per unit area during sand stormy weather occurrence. Further considering the effects of vegetation, it is inferred that the moving sandy land served as a material source of past dust storm and the possi-bility of dust release in per unit area is low in current time. Typical steppe in stony hills is undergoing desertification and its dust release possibility in per unit area is high. Farmland has strong potential of release dusts when they are ploughed in spring, but a large amount of therophytes grow and thus prevent dusts from release when cultivation was terminated. Potentials of dust release in per unit area in fixed sand dunes, stony mountain meadow steppe and lowland meadow are low due to high cover of perennials. Sand dune reactivation and desiccation of lakes and lowlands under estimated future climatic change will make them serve as a future material source of sand stormy weather. | LIU Hongyan, TIAN Yuhong & DING Deng Department of Ecology, College of Environmental Sciences, Peking University, Beijing 100871, China | 2003 | Chinese Science Bulletin2003,48,17: | 4
Facile Conjugation of Heparin onto Titanium Surfaces via Dopamine Inspired Coatings for Improving Blood Compatibility显示文摘Immobilization of heparin on biomaterials surface has been proven to be an effective strategy for preventing thrombus formation. However, the procedures of most immobilization methods(physical adsorption, covalent linkage, electrostatic interaction) are complicated and time-consuming. In the present study, heparin with various concentrations immobilized on a titanium(Ti) substrate via polydopamine layer for improving blood compatibility was investigated. Water contact angle measurement showed that the immobilization of heparin resulted in an increase of the hydrophilicity. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and Toluidine Blue O(TBO) tests displayed that the heparin molecules were successfully immobilized on Ti surface. The evaluations of blood compatibility(hemolysis rate, APTT, platelet adhesion and activation, fibrinogen conformational change) showed that the immobilization of heparin decreased hemolysis rate, prolonged blood coagulation time, reduced platelets adhesion and activation, and induced less fibrinogen conformational change. Moreover, a significant inhibition of blood coagulation and platelet adhesion was obtained when the heparin concentration was higher than 5 mg/mL, indicating that only with a certain surface densities could heparin perform its anticoagulant properties well. The results suggest that the immobilization of heparin via polydopamine layer can confer excellent antithrombotic properties, and the heparin immobilization method via polydopamine layer provides an alternative approach for other biomolecules immobilization on biomaterials surface. Thus it is envisaged that this method will be potentially useful for the surface modifi cation of blood-contacting biomaterials. | 李贵才 XIE Bing PAN Changjiang 杨萍 DING Hongyan HUANG Nan | 2014 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2014,29,4: | 3
Subtyping of type A influenza by sequencing the variable regions of HA gene specifically amplified with RT-PCR显示文摘The outbreak of a novel influenza A(H1N1) virus across the globe poses a threat to human health. It is of paramount importance to develop a rapid, reliable and inexpensive diagnostic procedure.Based on the bioinformatic information from public database, primers specific for influenza A virus surface protein haemagglutinin(HA) of several subtypes(including H1,H2,H3,H5,H7 and H9) were designed.Primer-specific PCR products were subjected to sequencing for accurately distinguishing H1 and H3 subtypes from others. This sequencing-based detection method will not only be applied to rapid detection and simultaneous subtype identification of new influenza A virus H1N1,but also provide the strategies to monitor other new types ofinfluenza virus with explosive potential. | YAN An DING GuoHui ZHOU ZhenFeng DONG Hui ZHANG YaKun ZHU Lei HE YunGang ZHANG GuoQing LI YiXue SUN Bing HUANG Zhong LAN Ke JIN Li WANG HongYan WANG XiaoNing YANG Zhong ZHONG Yang DAI JianXin GUO YaJun WANG Hao CHE XiaoYan WU Fan YUAN ZhenGan ZHANG Xi CAO ZhiWei ZHOU XiaoNong ZHOU JiaHai MA ZhiYong TONG GuangZhi ZHAO GuoPing JIN WeiRong XIONG Hui | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,13: | 3

Buildup dynamics of multiple solitons in spatiotemporal mode-locked fiber lasers显示文摘Spatiotemporal mode locking is a nonlinear process of multimode soliton self-organization.Here the real-time buildup dynamics of the multiple solitons in a spatiotemporal mode-locked multimode fiber laser are investigated, assisted by the time-stretch technique. We find that the buildup processes are transverse mode dependent, especially during the stages of relaxation oscillation and Q-switching prior to multiple soliton formation.Furthermore,we observe that the transverse modal composition of these generated pulses among the multiple solitons can be different from each other, indicating the spatiotemporal structure of the multiple soliton.A simplified theoretical model based on pulse energy evolution is put forward to interpret the role of 3D saturable absorber on spatiotemporal structures of spatiotemporal mode-locking multiple solitons. Our work has presented the spatiotemporal nonlinear dynamics in multimode fiber lasers, which are novel to those inside the single transverse mode fiber lasers. | KEWEI LIU XIAOSHENG XIAO YIHANG DING HONGYAN PENG DONGDONG LV CHANGXI YANG | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,10: | 3
Identification of two novel mutations in the GALNT3 gene in a Chinese family with hyperphosphatemic familial tumoral calcinosis显示文摘Hyperphosphatemic familial tumoral calcinosis(HFTC) is a rare, autosomal recessive genetic disease. This disease is characterized by the progressive calcification of soft tissues leading to symptoms of pressure and hyperphosphatemia but normal concentrations of serum calcium with or without an elevation of1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 levels.HFTC is caused by loss-of-function mutations in the GALNT3, FGF23 or KL genes. Here, we identified two novel mutations in the GALNT3 gene in a Chinese family with HFTC.Identification of a novel genotype in HFTC provides clues for understanding the phenotype–genotype relationships in HFTC and may assist not only in the clinical diagnosis of HFTC but also in the interpretation of the genetic information used for prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling. | Lihao Sun Lin Zhao Lianiun Du Peipei Zhang Minjia Zhang Min Li Tingting Liu Lei Ye Bei Tao Hongyan Zhao Jianmin Liu Xiaoyi Ding | 2016 | Bone Research2016,4,4: | 2

Seismic Performance of High-Strength Short Concrete Column with High-Strength Stirrups Constraints显示文摘The seismic performance of four short concrete columns was investigated under low cycle and repeated loads, including the failure characteristics, hysteretic behavior, rigidity degeneracy and steel-bar stress. The influences of reinforcement strength, stirrup ratio and shear span ratio were also compared. Test results reveal that the restriction effect of stirrups can improve the peak stress, so the bearing capacity of specimen can be improved; for the high-strength short concrete column with high-strength stirrups, it was more reasonable to use ultimate displacement angle to reflect the ductility of the specimen, and the yield strength of high-strength stirrups should be devalued when calculating the stirrup characteristic value; the seismic performance of short column would be improved with the increase of volume–stirrup ratio and shear span ratio;the high-strength stirrups and high-strength longitudinal reinforcements did not yield when the load acting on the specimen reached the peak value, which brought adequate safety stock to these short columns. | Hongyan Ding Yuan Liu Chao Han Yaohua Guo | 2017 | Transactions of Tianjin University2017,23,4: | 2

Shaking Table Tests and Seismic Response of Three-Bucket Jacket Foundations for Offshore Wind Turbines显示文摘The seismic response characteristics of three-bucket jacket foundations for offshore wind turbines(OWTs)and the liquefaction of the surrounding soil are particularly important for the development and application of this type of structure for offshore use.Using the shaking table test and three-dimensional finite element analysis, different magnitudes of simulated earthquake waves were used as inputs to the shaking table to model seismic excitations. The resulting changes in the excess pore water pressure and acceleration response of the soil under horizontal earthquake are compared in this paper.Calculations of the anti-liquefaction shear stress and equivalent shearing stress during the earthquake, determination of the areas prone to liquefaction, and identification of the effect of the three-bucket jacket foundation on the soil liquefaction resistance were conducted by developing a soil-structure finite element model. The development law of the soil’s amplification effect on seismic acceleration and the seismic response of the foundation soil under various magnitude earthquake waves were also discussed. Results indicate that liquefying the soil inside the bucket of the foundation is more difficult than that outside the bucket during the excitation of seismic waves due to the large upper load and the restraint of the surrounding hoop. This finding confirms the advantages of the three-bucket jacket foundations in improving the liquefaction resistance of the soil inside the bucket. However, the confinement has a barely noticeable impact on the nearby soil outside the skirt. The phenomenon of soil liquefaction at the bottom of the skirt occurred earlier than that in other positions during the seismic excitation, and the excess pore water pressure slowly dissipated. The acceleration amplification coefficient of the sand outside the bucket increases with depth, but that of the sand inside the bucket is substantially inhibited in the height range of the bucket foundation. This result proves the inhibition effects of the three-bucket jacket foundations on the seismic responses of soils. The liquefied soil layer has a significant effect in absorbing a certain amount of seismic wave energy and reducing the amplification effect. The numerical simulation results are consistent with the phenomenon and data measured during the shaking table test. The current study also verifies the feasibility of the excess pore water pressure ratio and the anti-liquefaction shear stress method for judging soil liquefaction. | DING Hongyan PAN Chen ZHANG Puyang WANG Le XU Yunlong | 2022 | Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,3: | 1
