| 1 | Application of next-generation sequencing technology to precision medicine in cancer: joint consensus of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology显示文摘Next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology is capable of sequencing millions or billions of DNA molecules simultaneously.Therefore, it represents a promising tool for the analysis of molecular targets for the initial diagnosis of disease, monitoring of disease progression, and identifying the mechanism of drug resistance. On behalf of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO) and the China Actionable Genome Consortium(CAGC), the present expert group hereby proposes advisory guidelines on clinical applications of NGS technology for the analysis of cancer driver genes for precision cancer therapy. This group comprises an assembly of laboratory cancer geneticists, clinical oncologists, bioinformaticians,pathologists, and other professionals. After multiple rounds of discussions and revisions, the expert group has reached a preliminary consensus on the need of NGS in clinical diagnosis, its regulation, and compliance standards in clinical sample collection. | 3 | Regulatory mechanism of hormones of the pituitary-target gland axes in kidney-Yang deficiency based on a support vector machine model显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the development mechanism of kidney-Yang deficiency through the establishment of support vector machine models of relevant hormones of the pituitary-target gland axes in rats with kidney-Yang deficiency syndrome.METHODS:The kidney-Yang deficiency rat model was created by intramuscular injection of hydrocortisone,and contents of the hormones of the pituita- ry-thyroid axis:thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),3,3',5-triiodothyronine(T_3) and thyroxine(T_4);hormones of the pituitary-adrenal gland axis:adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH) and Cortisol(CORT);and hormones of the pituitary-gonadal axis:luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),and testosterone(T),were determined in the early,middle,and advanced stages.Ten support vector regression(SVR) models of the hormones were established to analyze the mutual relationships among the hormones of the three axes.RESULTS:The feedback control action of the pituitary-adrenal axis began to lose efficacy from the middle stage of kidney-Kong deficiency.The contents all hormones of the three pituitary-target gland axes decreased in the advanced stage.Relative errors of the jackknife test of the SVR models all were less than 10%.CONCLUSION:Imbalances in mutual regulation among the hormones of the pituitary-target gland axes,especially loss of effectiveness of the pituitary-adrenal axis,is one pathogenesis of kidney-Yang deficiency.The SVR model can accurately reflect the complicated non-linear relationships among pituitary-target gland axes in rats with of kidney-Yang deficiency. | Wang Xiufeng Zhang Lei Huang Rongbo Wu Qinghua Min Jianxin Ma Na Luo Laicheng | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,2: | 7 |
| 4 | Integration of InSAR and GPS for hydraulic engineering显示文摘Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) is a potential earth observation approach, and it has been demonstrated to have a variety of applications in measuring ground movement, urban subsidence and landslides. Currently InSAR provides the ability to map accurate DEM and measure ground deformation to sub-centimeter accuracy. However, many factors affect InSAR to measure ground movement since dam constructions are built in a large scale area with a complicated climate and unstable geology. This paper discusses potential applications of integrated InSAR and GPS to monitor a large-scale ground movement due to hydropower developments. The integration of InSAR and GPS can provide a cost-effective means for monitoring deformation of hydropower developments. | 6 | Scheduling Policies for Federated Learning in Wireless Networks: An Overview显示文摘Due to the increasing need for massive data analysis and machine learning model training at the network edge, as well as the rising concerns about data privacy, a new distrib?uted training framework called federated learning (FL) has emerged and attracted much at?tention from both academia and industry. In FL, participating devices iteratively update the local models based on their own data and contribute to the global training by uploading mod?el updates until the training converges. Therefore, the computation capabilities of mobile de?vices can be utilized and the data privacy can be preserved. However, deploying FL in re?source-constrained wireless networks encounters several challenges, including the limited energy of mobile devices, weak onboard computing capability, and scarce wireless band?width. To address these challenges, recent solutions have been proposed to maximize the convergence rate or minimize the energy consumption under heterogeneous constraints.
