In situ optical backpropagation training of diffractive optical neural networks显示文摘Training an artificial neural network with backpropagation algorithms to perform advanced machine learning tasks requires an extensive computational process. This paper proposes to implement the backpropagation algorithm optically for in situ training of both linear and nonlinear diffractive optical neural networlks, which enables the acceleration of training speed and improvement in energy efficiency on core computing modules. We demonstrate that the gradient of a loss function with respect to the weights of diffractive layers can be accurately calculated by measuring the forward and backward propagated optical fields based on light reciprocity and phase conjunction principles. The diffractive modulation weights are updated by programming a high-speed spatial light modulator to minimize the error between prediction and target output and perform inference tasks at the speed of light. We numerically validate the effectiveness of our approach on simulated networks for various applications. The proposed in situ optical learning architecture achieves accuracy comparable to in silico training with an electronic computer on the tasks of object dlassification and matrix-vector multiplication, which further allows the diffractive optical neural network to adapt to system imperfections. Also, the self-adaptive property of our approach facilitates the novel application of the network for all-optical imaging through scattering media. The proposed approach paves the way for robust implementation of large-scale difractive neural networks to perform distinctive tasks all-optically.TIANKUANG ZHOU LU FANG TAO YAN JIAMIN WU YIPENG LI JINGTAO FAN HUAQIANG WU XING LIN QIONGHAI DA 2020Photonics Research2020,8,6:11
Deubiquitinase JOSD2 stabilizes YAP/TAZ to promote cholangiocarcinoma progression显示文摘Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)has emerged as an intractable cancer with scanty therapeutic regimens. The aberrant activation of Yes-associated protein(YAP)and transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif(TAZ)are reported to be common in CCA patients. However, the underpinning mechanism remains poorly understood.Deubiquitinase(DUB)is regarded as a main orchestrator in maintaining protein homeostasis. Here,we identified Josephin domain-containing protein 2(JOSD2)as an essential DUB of YAP/TAZ that sustained the protein level through cleavage of polyubiquitin chains in a deubiquitinase activity-dependent manner. The depletion of JOSD2 promoted YAP/TAZ proteasomal degradation and significantly impeded CCA proliferation in vitro and in vivo.Further analysis has highlighted the positive correlation between JOSD2 and YAP abundance in CCA patient samples.Collectively, this study uncovers the regulatory effects of JOSD2 on YAP/TAZ protein stabilities and profiles its contribution in CCA malignant progression, which may provide a potential intervention target for YAP/TAZ-related CCA patients.Meijia Qian Fangjie Yan Weihua Wang Jiamin Du Tao Yuan Ruilin Wu Chenxi Zhao Jiao Wang Jiabin Lu Bo Zhang Nengming Lin Xin Dong Xiaoyang Dai Xiaowu Dong Bo Yang Hong Zhu Qiaojun He 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12:5
A Teosinte-derived Allele of a MYB Transcription Repressor Confers Multiple Disease Resistance in Maize.显示文摘Natural alleles controlling multiple disease resistances (MDR) are valuable for crop breeding. However, only one MDR gene have been cloned in maize, and molecular mechanisms of MDR are not clear. By map-based cloning, we have cloned a teosinte-derived allele of a resistance gene, Mexicana lesion mimic 1 (ZmMM1), which has a lesion mimic phenotype and confers resistance to northern leaf blight (NLB), gray leaf spot (GLS) and southern corn rust (SCR). Strong MDR conferred by the teosinte allele is linked with the polymorphisms in the 3' untranslated region of the ZmMM1 gene that cause increased accumulation of ZmMM1 protein. ZmMM1 acts as a transcription repressor and negatively regulates transcription of specific target genes including ZmMM1-target gene 3 (ZmMT3), which functions as a negative regulator of plant immunity and associated cell death. The successful isolation of the ZmMM1 resistance gene will help not only in developing broad-spectrum and durable disease resistance but also in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying MDR.Hongze Wang Jiabao Hou Pei Ye Long Hu Junshi Huang Zhikang Dai Bao Zhang Sha Dai Jiamin Que Haoxuan Min Gengshen Chen Yanbo Wang Min Jiang Yan Liang Lin Li Xuecai Zhang Zhibing Lai 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,11:4
Dual activated NIR-Ⅱ fluorescence and photoacoustic imaging-guided cancer chemo-radiotherapy using hybrid plasmonic-fluorescent assemblies显示文摘Multimodal imaging in the second near-infrared window(NIR-II)guided cancer therapy is a highly precise and efficient cancer theranostic strategy. However,it is still a challenge to develop activated NIR-II optical imaging and therapy agents. In this study,we develop a pH-responsive hybrid plasmonic-fluorescent vesicle by self-assembly of amphiphilic plasmonic nanogapped gold nanorod(AuNNR)and fluorescent down-conversion nanoparticles(DCNP)(AuNNR-DCNP Ve),showing remarkable and activated NIR-II fluorescence(FL)/NIR-II photoacoustic(PA)imaging performances. The hybrid vesicle also exhibited superior loading capacity of doxorubicin as a superior drug carrier and efficient radiosensitizer for X-ray-induced radiotherapy.Interestingly, the accumulated hybrid AuNNR-DCNP Ve in the tumor resulted in a recovery of NIR-II FL imaging signal and a variation in NIR-II PA imaging signal.Dual activated NIR-II PA and FL imaging of the hybrid vesicle could trace drug release and precisely guided cancer radiotherapy to ultimately reduce the side effects to healthy tissue.Tao Chen Lichao Su Xiaoguang Ge Wenmin Zhang Qingqing Li Xuan Zhang Jiamin Ye Lisen Lin Jibin Song Huanghao Yang 2020Nano Research2020,13,12:4

Targeting slug-mediated non-canonical activation of c-Met to overcome chemo-resistance in metastatic ovarian cancer cells显示文摘Metastasis-associated drug resistance accounts for high mortality in ovarian cancer and remains to be a major barrier for effective treatment. In this study, SKOV3/T4, a metastatic subpopulation of ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells, was enriched to explore potential interventions against metastaticassociated drug resistance. Quantitative genomic and functional analyses were performed and found that slug was significantly increased in the SKOV3/T4 subpopulation and contributed to the high resistance of SKOV3/T4. Further studies showed that slug activated c-Met in a ligand-independent manner due to elevated levels of fibronectin and provoked integrin α V function, which was confirmed by the significant correlation of slug and p-Met levels in 121 ovarian cancer patient samples. Intriguingly,c-Met inhibitor(s) exhibited greatly enhanced anti-cancer effects in slug-positive ovarian cancer models both in vitro and in vivo. Additionally, IHC analyses revealed that slug levels were highly correlated with reduced survival of ovarian cancer patients. Taken together, this study not only uncovers the critical roles of slug in drug resistance in ovarian cancer but also highlights a promising therapeutic strategy by targeting the noncanonical activation of c-Met in slug-positive ovarian cancer patients with poor prognosis.Linlin Chang Yan Hu Yingying Fu Tianyi Zhou Jun You Jiamin Du Lin Zheng Ji Cao Meidan Ying Xiaoyang Dai Dan Su Qiaojun He Hong Zhu Bo Yang 2019Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2019,9,3:3

Stoichiometric effect on electrical and near-infrared photodetection properties of full-composition-range GaAs1−xSbx nanowires显示文摘As one of the most important narrow bandgap ternary semiconductors, GaAs1−xSbx nanowires (NWs) have attracted extensive attention recently, due to the superior hole mobility and the tunable bandgap, which covers the whole near-infrared (NIR) region, for technological applications in next-generation high-performance electronics and NIR photodetection. However, it is still a challenge to the synthesis of high-quality GaAs1−xSbx NWs across the entire range of composition, resulting in the lack of correlation investigation among stoichiometry, microstructure, electronics, and NIR photodetection. Here, we demonstrate the success growth of high-quality GaAs1−xSbx NWs with full composition range by adopting a simple and low-cost surfactant-assisted solid source chemical vapor deposition method. All of the as-prepared NWs are uniform, smooth, and straight, without any phase segregation in all stoichiometric compositions. The lattice constants of each NW composition have been well correlated with the chemical stoichiometry and confirmed by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectrum. Moreover, with the increase of Sb concentration, the hole mobility of the as-fabricated field-effect-transistors and the responsivity and detectivity of the as-fabricated NIR photodetectors increase accordingly. All the results suggest a careful stoichiometric design is required for achieving optimal NW device performances.Jiamin Sun Mingming Han Meng Peng Lei Zhang Dong Liu Chengcheng Miao Jiafu Ye Zhiyong Pang Longbing He Hailu Wang Qing Li Peng Wang Lin Wang Xiaoshuang Chen Chongxin Shan Litao Sun Weida Hu Zai-xing Yang 2021Nano Research2021,14,11:1

Unsupervised content-preserving transformation for optical microscopy显示文摘The development of deep learning and open access to a substantial collection of imaging data together provide a potential solution for computational image transformation, which is gradually changing the landscape of optical imaging and biomedical research. However, current implementations of deep learning usually operate in a supervised manner, and their reliance on laborious and error-prone data annotation procedures remains a barrier to more general applicability. Here,we propose an unsupervised image transformation to facilitate the utilization of deep learning for optical microscopy, even in some cases in which supervised models cannot be applied.Through the introduction of a saliency constraint, the unsupervised model, named Unsupervised content-preserving Transformation for Optical Microscopy(UTOM);can learn the mapping between two image domains without requiring paired training data while avoiding distortions of the image content.UTOM shows promising performance in a wide range of biomedical image transformation tasks, including in silico histological staining, fluorescence image restoration, and virtual fluorescence labeling.Quantitative evaluations reveal that UTOM achieves stable and high-fidelity image transformations across different imaging conditions and modalities. We anticipate that our framework will encourage a paradigm shift in training neural networks and enable more applications of artificial intelligence in biomedical imaging.Xinyang Li Guoxun Zhang Hui Qiao Feng Bao Yue Deng Jiamin Wu Yangfan He Jingping Yun Xing Lin Hao Xie Haoqian Wang Qionghai Dai 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,3:1

Interface engineering in two-dimensional heterostructures towards novel emitters显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D) semiconductors have captured broad interest as light emitters, due to their unique excitonic effects. These layer-blocks can be integrated through van der Waals assembly, i.e., fabricating homo-or heterojunctions, which show novel emission properties caused by interface engineering. In this review, we will first give an overview of the basic strategies that have been employed in interface engineering, including changing components, adjusting interlayer gap, and tuning twist angle. By modifying the interfacial factors, novel emission properties of emerging excitons are unveiled and discussed. Generally, well-tailored interfacial energy transfer and charge transfer within a 2D heterostructure cause static modulation of the brightness of intralayer excitons. As a special case, dynamically correlated dual-color emission in weakly-coupled bilayers will be introduced, which originates from intermittent interlayer charge transfer. For homobilayers and type Ⅱ heterobilayers, interlayer excitons with electrons and holes residing in neighboring layers are another important topic in this review. Moreover, the overlap of two crystal lattices forms moiré patterns with a relatively large period, taking effect on intralayer and interlayer excitons. Particularly, theoretical and experimental progresses on spatially modulated moiré excitons with ultra-sharp linewidth and quantum emission properties will be highlighted. Moiré quantum emitter provides uniform and integratable arrays of single photon emitters that are previously inaccessible, which is essential in quantum many-body simulation and quantum information processing. Benefiting from the optically addressable spin and valley indices, 2D heterostructures have become an indispensable platform for investigating exciton physics, designing and integrating novel concept emitters.Hua Li Jinyang Ling Jiamin Lin Xin Lu Weigao Xu 2023Journal of Semiconductors2023,44,1:1

Wearable membranes from zirconium-oxo clusters cross-linked polymer networks for ultrafast chemical warfare agents decontamination显示文摘The urgent need for immediate personal protection against chemical warfare agents(CWAs)spurs the requirement on robust and highly efficient catalytic systems that can be conveniently integrated to wearable devices.Herein,as a new concept for CWA decontamination catalyst design,sub-nanoscale,catalytically active zirconium-oxo molecular clusters are covalently integrated in flexible polymer network as crosslinkers for the full exposure of catalytic sites as well as robust framework structures. The obtained membrane catalysts exhibit high swelling ratio with aqueous content as 84 wt%and therefore, demonstrate quasi-homogeneous catalytic activity toward the rapid hydrolysis of both CWA,soman(GD)(t_(1/2)=5.0 min)and CWA simulant, methyl paraoxon(DMNP)(t_(1/2)=8.9 min).Meanwhile, due to the covalent nature of cross-linkages and the high flexibility of polymer strands, the membranes possess promising mechanical strength and toughness that can stand the impact of high gas pressures and show high permeation for both CO_(2)and O_(2),enabling their extended applications in the field of collective/personal protective materials with body comfort.Litao Ma Jiamin Xie Xiaoshan Yan Zhiwei Fan Heguo Li Lin Lu Likun Chen Yi Xin Panchao Yin 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,6:1

Mycotoxins in Chinese Traditional Cured Meats: A Review显示文摘Chinese cured meats are popular in the world, which are not only meat products but also cultures in China.Fungi can grow on the surface of the traditional cured meats easily during the processing and storage. Some fungi contribute to the specific flavors, color and sensory characteristics of cured meats, while others produce mycotoxins like aflatoxins, ochratoxins, and deoxynivalenol, which will lead to cancer.Although the mycotoxins limits in food have been published by national standard in China, the limits in cured meats are still in blank. Therefore,it is reasonable to identify and reduce the mycotoxins in Chinese cured meats and meat products. This review analyzed the causes of mycotoxins, identification and control methods for Chinese cured meats.Lili JI Dan HE Benting HUANG Rui WANG Ting BAI Jiamin ZHANG Lin CHEN Wei WANG 2020Agricultural Biotechnology2020,9,2:1
Catalytic role of assembled Ce Lewis acid sites over ceria for electrocatalytic conversion of dinitrogen to ammonia显示文摘CeO_(2)-based catalysts are emerging as novel candidates for catalyzing nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR).However, despite the increasing amount of experimental and theoretical research, the design of more efficient ceria catalysts for NRR remains a challenge due to the poor knowledge of the catalytic mechanism, particularly the nature of the active sites and how they catalyze NRR. Here, using first-principle calculations, we investigated the NRR catalysis process involving adjacent Ce Lewis acid clusters formed on(111),(110), and(100) facets of CeO_(2) as active sites. Our results revealed that the assembled structures of the Ce Lewis acid as active centers after the oxygen vacancies(Ovs) were opened. The exposed Ce sites on CeO_(2)(111), CeO_(2)(110), and CeO_(2)(100) can cause N_(2) to be adsorbed in a ‘‘lying-down' manner, which facilitates the N2 activation and thus leads to much higher NRR activity. Furthermore, from the perspective of electronic structure, we establish two useful descriptors for assessing the NRR activity on ceria with Ovs:The N–N bond strength of the adsorbed N_(2) and the adsorption energy of the *N_(2)H intermediate. This work thus provides direct guidance for the design of more-effective oxide catalysts without the use of scarce metals.Jiamin Qi Shulan Zhou Ke Xie Sen Lin 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,9:1
