| 5 | 6 GHz hyperfast rotation of an optically levitated nanoparticle in vacuum显示文摘We report an experimental observation of a record-breaking ultrahigh rotation frequency about 6 GHz in an optically levitated nanoparticle system. We optically trap a nanoparticle in the gravity direction with a high numerical aperture (NA) objective lens,which shows significant advantages in compensating the influences of the scattering force and the photophoretic force on the trap,especially at intermediate pressure (about100 Pa). This allows us to trap a nanoparticle from atmospheric to low pressure (10^(-3)Pa) without using feedback cooling. | 6 | Motif-mediated Au25(SPh)5(PPh3)ioX2 nanorods with conjugated electron delocalization显示文摘We developed a general and effective strategy to afford rod-like [Au25(SPh)5(PPh3)10X2]X2 (X = Cl/Br) nanoclusters, capped by conjugated delocalized pπ electron mediated ligands. The detailed atomic structure of these materials was resolved by synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction (SRXRD) combined with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) and UV–vis analyses. The Au17(SR)3(PPh3)6X2minimum asymmetric unit, with exposed Au atoms at the center, can serve as an important model to understand the transformation of homogold nanoclusters into alloy nanoclusters. The conjugated delocalized pπ electrons of the thiolate ligands can effectively tune the electronic properties of the Au25 kernel, as qualitatively evidenced by the energy gaps measured by UV–vis experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The delocalized electrons distinctly flow to the orbitals of the Au25 kernel via the S atoms of the aromatic thiolates. The ESI-MS analysis indicates that Au3 clusters are formed during the etching reactions, which provide an opportunity to gain insight into the intriguing conversion pathway of the Aun(PPh3)mXy precursor to the final Au25 nanorods. Finally, the thiophenol-protected Au25 nanorods, immobilized on activated carbon, show good catalytic activity in the aerobic oxidation of glucose to gluconic acid (74% glucose conversion and 100% selectivity for gluconic acid), much higher than that of the aliphatic Au25 analogue. The Au25(SPh)5(PPh3)10X2 catalyst yields a turnover frequency (TOF) of 13.5 s^–1, higher than that of commercial catalysts such as Pd/activated carbon (AC) and Pd-Bi/AC. | 7 | Atomic-scale mechanism of the θ’’→θ’ phase transformation in Al-Cu alloys显示文摘The phase transformation of θ’’→θ’ in an Al-5.7 Cu alloy was investigated by aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy, and the tranformation mode of θ’’→θ’ during aging treatment was clarified. In the presence of the θ’ phases, θ’ was found to be formed by in-situ transformation fromθ’’ with the same plate shape, size and broad faces. The transformation starts from multiple sites within the θ’ precipitate and the whole θ’ phase finally forms as the preferential θ’ sections grow and connect with each other. | 8 | Effects of cannabinoid receptor type 2 on endogenous myocardial regeneration by activating cardiac progenitor cells in mouse infarcted heart显示文摘Cannabinoid receptor type 2(CB2)activation is recently reported to promote proliferation of some types of resident stem cells(e.g.,hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell or neural progenitor cell).Resident cardiac progenitor cell(CPC)activation and proliferation are crucial for endogenous cardiac regeneration and cardiac repair after myocardial infarction(MI).This study aims to explore the role and possible mechanisms of CB2receptor activation in enhancing myocardial repair.Our results revealed that CB2receptor agonist AM1241 can significantly increase CPCs by c-kit and Runx1 staining in ischemic myocardium as well as improve cardiomyocyte proliferation.AM1241 also decreased serum levels of MDA,TNF-αand IL-6 after MI.In addition,AM1241 can ameliorate left ventricular ejection fraction and fractional shortening,and reduce fibrosis.Moreover,AM1241 treatment markedly increased p-Akt and HO-1 expression,and promoted Nrf-2 nuclear translocation.However,PI3K inhibitor wortmannin eliminated these cardioprotective roles of AM1241.In conclusion,AM1241 could induce myocardial regeneration and improve cardiac function,which might be associated with PI3K/Akt/Nrf2 signaling pathway activation.Our findings may provide a promising strategy for cardiac endogenous regeneration after MI. | WANG YaBin MA Sai WANG Qiang HU WenXing WANG DongJuan LI XiuJuan SU Tao QIN Xing ZHANG XiaoTian MA Ke CHEN JiangWei XIONG LiZe CAO Feng | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,2: | 3 |

| 12 | Inconsistent creep between dendrite core and interdendritic region under different degrees of elemental inhomogeneity in nickel-based single crystal superalloys显示文摘The creep inconsistency between dendrite core and interdendritic region is investigated in a nickel-based single crystal superalloy under 1373 K and 137 MPa.Two specimens with higher and lower degree of elemental inhomogeneity on dendritic structures are compared.For specimen with higher inhomogeneity,stronger segregation of refractory elements reinforces the local strength in dendrite core,but damages the strength in interdendritic region.Creep strain is accumulated faster in interdendritic region giving rise to promoted dislocation shearing inγphase,faster degradation of dislocation networks and facilitated topological inversion of rated structures.Although the segregation of refractory elements produces a high density of topologically close-packed(TCP)phase in dendrite core,faster accumulation of creep strain forms microcracks prior in interdendritic region that gives rise to final rupture of the specimen.In another specimen,increased solid solution time gives rise to overall reduced inhomogeneity.Creep inconsistency is relieved to show more uniform evolution of dislocation substructures and rafting between dendrite core and interdendritic region.The second specimen is ruptured by formation and extension of microcracks along TCP phase although the precipitation of TCP phase is relatively restricted under reduced inhomogeneity.Importantly,the balance of local strength between dendrite core and interdendritic region results in over 40%increase of creep rupture life of the second specimen. | Wanshun Xia Xinbao Zhao Liang Yue Quanzhao Yue Jiangwei Wang Qingqing Ding Hongbin Bei Ze Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,33: | 2 |

| 14 | Discrete twinning dynamics and size-dependent dislocation-to twin transition in body-centred cubic tungsten显示文摘Body-centred cubic(BCC) metals are known to have unstable intrinsic stacking faults and high resistance to deformation twinning, which can strongly influence their twinning behaviour. Though twinning mechanisms of BCC metals have been investigated for more than 60 years, the atomistic level dynamics of twinning remains under debate, especially regarding its impact on competition between twinning and slip. Here, we investigate the atomistic level dynamics of twinning in BCC tungsten(W) nanowires using in situ nanomechanical testing. Quantitative experimental studies directly visualize that deformation twins in W nanowires have a minimum size of six-layers and grow in increments of approximately three-layers at a time, in contrast to the layer-by-layer growth of deformation twins in face-centred cubic metals. These unique twinning dynamics induces a strong competition with ordinary dislocation slip,as exhibited by a size-dependent dislocation-to-twin transition in W nanowires, with a transition size of ~40 nm. | 19 | Fine-tuning of Pd-Rh core-shell catalysts by interstitial hydrogen doping for enhanced methanol oxidation显示文摘Metal catalysts play an important role in the catalytic electrochemical processes and optimization of their performance is usually achieved through alloying with other metal atoms.Doping with interstitial hydrogen atoms is a special but effective way to regulate the electronic structure of host catalysts.Herein we demonstrate the intermixing of Pd and Rh atoms during the hydrogen-doping process of Pd@Rh core-shell nanocubes,forming an alloyed surface in Pd@Rh-H.The catalysts show enhanced performance in electrocatalytic methanol oxidation,as compared to commercial Pt/C and are even better than PdH@Rh core-shell nanocubes.The small structural differences between the two hydride catalysts are revealed by X-ray electron spectroscopy and pair distribution function analysis of electron diffraction.The theoretical calculation results show that Rh in Pd@Rh-H contains more negative charges than Rh in PdH@Rh,indicating more effective charge transfer in Pd@Rh-H.The d-band center(£d)of the Rh site in Pd@Rh-H shifts up,and the synergy between Rh and Pd optimizes the binding energy of CO and OH,inducing preferential catalytic activity.Our work provides guidance for the synthesis of high-performance catalysts by doping with interstitial atoms,which may provide a new strategy to fine-tune the electronic structure of other bimetallic nanoparticles. | Xiaoyun Guo Zheng Hu Jianxin Lv Hui Li Qinghua Zhang Lin Gu Wei Zhou Jiangwei Zhang Shi Hu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,2: | 1 |
